The service here is terrible. The managers are even worse. We came in today to look around. My wife found something she wanted. She spoke to the guy at the register, he said he had to get the manager to get a price. The manager comes over and tells her he's not selling her anything. This location has Employee/ Associate issues, aimed squarely at the customers. a Thift Store, for the surprises & value that might pop up. There are grand finds here, from Albums to fun lamps to " what is that?"...but more than one occasion there will be a cashier over-charging ( $1.00 album for $5.00!!?), taking out an ink- fraud bill pen on a $5.00 bill with an attitude, or just being inept to what the position entails! It's a bummer to deal with ill-trained, unhappy souls after finding treasures. We dont bother going there anymore. read more

One star on this purchase. Bought a Logitech keyboard, boxed and taped shut as if new. My fault for not asking staff to open it. Went home, opened it and found a dirty, smelly very used keyboard, and 10 keys with worn off characters. Totally unusable. Tried to return it and they said nothing is returnable. Lesson learned. Buyer beware. Always have staff open anything boxed or enclosed and make sure the product works before leaving the store. $15 lost. I have been coming here since last year since there are a lot of good finds. If you have a student ID you can come in on Thursday and get a discount on your purchase so this a pretty thrifty deal. I would like to point out that the schedule does seem to change on Thursdays, sometimes they close at 7pm and sometimes they close at 8pm so it's best to check in if you go in to verify when they close. The last time I went they closed at 8pm and they advised the fitting rooms were open until then. However, a couple of weeks before the store closed at 7pm, but the dressing rooms closed early at 6:30pm so seems like it really depends on who's working to determine fitting room hours. read more

I unfortunately lost everything I own , decades worth of my and my five children everything. Between apartment storage bill was so high to store everything i could not afford it. I am middle age and had to start from scratch . If there ever was a time I need thrift store it is now . Looking at my receipt now I am so upset . I spent an hour and half sorting through linens and bought books . I am big on repurposed items but Quincy goodwill is closest to me . I don't have a car right now so I rely on rides . Anyway I tried helping Employee JLope to make a hasty checkout and stack my 51 items like with like . He was so rude . I am bright and bubbly person and he kept grabbing each individual item and I swear making up his own mind prices . He undid every single obvious item one by one asking the manager next to him on register, asking her what is this considered . I was telling him exactly what everything was . Example table cloths. I bought two . He opened up and much smaller than rectangular lace embroider one , he said no because it round it 4.99 and rectangle huge one 3.99 . Whatever on that one . I spoke up and said please stop waving your hand telling me be quiet because he doesn't believe me that it a curtain panel . He dismissed me several times like I trying to rip him off personally. I am a crafter and came accross fabric. In terrible shape but i could cut o the marks and such . Honestly should have been thrown in trash but I pay 1.99 for it cut up section . Nope the manager told me they charge 2.99 a yard !! The guy took a little over 25 minutes to check me out . I said forget it for fabric. Brand new perfect cotton fabric 2.99 at fabric store . I also got a beach towel and they both trying to insist it could be a shawl and , omg I felt horrible being treated so rude . I bought 51 items . I probably had put 30 aside because I couldn't take it anymore. Store is over stuff with clothes. The prices are higher than any thrift store I been to . Very dusty and dirty . They really should move the clothes out by marking them lower . 7 years ago it was so fun to go to that goodwill . You find great items . Exciting when they bring new stuff out . I need pots and pans . Rusty . How can you sell a dirty microwave . Gross . I spent 97 dollars. I feel I was overcharged $24 or 18 dollars. He charged me childrens books as adult hard covers. I didn't catch it until my eyes welling in car . There is Savers And Goodwill near each other in Hanover . Drive the few extra miles and go there . Savers is beautiful stuff . I fancy me'self a bit of a thrift store connoisseur. I've been to thrift stores up and down the eastern seaboard and coast to coast across this great land. The Goodwill in Quincy is pretty alright. Not the greatest bargains or sweetest merchandise ive ever seen in a second hand store but some interesting finds and a fun day of riffling through a bunch of cruddy stuff. I was on foot --took the red line to quincy center and walked about a mile to the store, so unfortunately I couldnt buy any of the large embroidered clown pictures that were nestled away in a dusty corner of the Goodwill. You, like me, are probably a fan of handcrafted clown art, right? Some great vintage clothes at this location. A lot from the 70's but some older stuff and a few choice 80's clothes as well. I'm slightly disappointed that there wasn't more kitschy apparel like wolf t-shirts and sweaters with kittens (or clowns!) embroidered on them. These kinds of items are the meat of the thrift store walnut, and the reason why I trek to so many second hand stores. This location has a lot of electronics. I got some good computer speakers for $5 and a mini CD player for $5 as well, something ive been looking for forever and have not been able to find at Boomerangs and Savers. I also came out of the Quincy Goodwill experience with a polka-dot jacket, a bill blass denim skirt, some black suede shoes and a really cute, 60's style peasant dress all for less than $20. Note of interest: the dressing rooms are locked and must be opened by a store employee....not so this trip! A girl with a pocket knife got a lot of pleasure in jimmying the dressing room locks open for customers who wanted to try something on but not bother the staff. So not only is the Goodwill in Quincy helping the planet by selling recycled goods, helping hard working people keep their wallets a little fatter, but it's also helping this young lady's future larceny career. read more

This place is a mess. I don't understand the high reviews and talks of bargains here at all. I thought the point of people donating was to help out those in need. All I found here was extremely overpriced crap. How is a plain, stretched out, no name t-shirt for $7.99 a fair price? I also went here looking for a Halloween costume for my baby and an incomplete pumpkin costume (body part only) was $9.99. What is that about? In my opinion something like that should have been $4.99 max. I was able to find a package of string lights for $1.99 so I guess that was ok, but the clothing prices were way out of whack. The thing I don't understand about Goodwill stores here on the East Coast (I grew up here) is that they are way more expensive, messy & unorganized, and they all smell bad. I just got back from the West Coast and their stores were less expensive (t-shirts were around $2.99). The stores themselves are big, bright, clean and everything looked new. Why the huge difference? Where is the money from the items the New England community DONATES going? I don't know if this is a cultural thing or mismanagement, but I can't help but be frustrated. My family relied on thrift stores when I was growing up. I luckily don't NEED them now (though it's nice to find a bargain!) but I wish I could let Goodwill know they've lost sight of what they are suppose to be. They are NOT consignment! yes it is goodwill, so you get what you get, I suppose... on the couple times I have been here, the staff at the checkout are sooooo incredibly rude and nasty, I might hesitate to go again for that reason alone. however you can find a bargain there if you have a couple of hours to kill. I still have yet to figure out how they organize the store, it seems like there is no real order. They seem to sort out by color rather than size, so it can take a while to find what you are looking for. Also no children's clothes at this location anymore, which they used to have. I did go in there looking for clothing for my 3 year old's halloween costume when I discovered this. I love this goodwill store. A really odd number of small furnishing items came from here and got used in my home, and not in that "oh, that totally looks secondhand / awkward" kind of way. I picked up two sweet mirrors, little waste baskets (the pretty kind), and quite a few goofy mugs, among other pretty junk. They have a great clothing and glasswares selection as well - if you are looking for budget wedding supplies, this store has tons of muglies, vases and goblets galore, and even the occasional set of toasting flutes to DIY make your own etc etc acronyms. An obscene amount of my clothing comes from here. Not gonna lie! You really can get so much for crafting here, like old sweaters, silverware, books only good for decoupageing. They have some furniture selection, but I've never bought any because its usually more beat up than is worth it for what they charge. be sure to take a sudafed before you go. its a thrift store, so clean is kind of relative, and dusty is a definite. Staff is VERY friendly here. We had to go to a 70's party recently and had to do some LAST MINUTE shopping. Well, what better place to look than at donated clothes, right? Out with the old fashion, in with the new. Before I knew it, I was all dressed up in duds and realized that we didn't need to drop $60 in a costume store. They have a dressing room so you can try on stuff before you buy. They have a huge selection and it's priced REALLY WELL. I also donate here on a monthly basis. They take almost EVERYTHING! Why throw out when others can use? Go ahead and help people out. Help yourself out with a tax deduction and fill out the forms they provide you. I think I saw my old pants hanging up on the shelves. This is one of the larger Goodwill stores and they always seem to be having a sale on certain color price tags. I have picked up some good stuff at this location like Columbia fleece zip-ups and a really cool purse from Japan that is green suede and looks like it has been bedazzled (Harajuku style). There are tons of housewares to be had and even more clothing for kids and adults, records, old VHS tapes and more. My favorite find was actually something I didn't buy, but I still think of it to this day. It was a 1950's dinette set that was chrome and turquoise...ohhh if only I had my own apt. back then...it would have been mine! read more

Even when I don't find anything to buy, I still love coming here to browse. The book section is great, not to big but not too small at all. The last 2 times I was here I happened to see employees wheel out a bin full of newly donated items to stock the shelves with. People crowd those bins and start digging with some serious determination to find treasure. It's fun to watch the chaos. The parking lot is more than big enough unless you go too close to Christmas when it can be impossible. I parked on the street behind the store when that happened. Oh, and always a nice bonus to arrive and see one of those "all orange tags are 50% today" signs up. read more

The good and the bad. I will start with the down side, the store is dirty, dusty, and it took me a long time before I would even touch any of the clothing on the racks. When the employees are hanging clothing to sell, they should at least give the item a quick glance and throw away items that are stained or ripped. BUT... On the brighter side... If you are willing to take the time, I average at least 45 mintues to an hour and go through all the many, many rows of clothing. There are definitely bargains to be found. Items are not sorted by size, but by category, (skirts, pants, sweaters, short sleeve tops, etc) and then by color so you do need to be patient and willing to try things on. I immediately wash everything when I get it home but I don't go by the tag sizes. Every designer is a little different with their sizes. Don't overlook the bags either. I have found " like new" Coach, Vera Bradley, etc. I have found Michael Kors tops with the original tags still on them, designer jeans are only about 5.99 each. Where else can you put a whole top name designer outfit together for less then $20. That's including a pair of UGG boots. And Sundays and Mondays are there sale days where a colored tag is 1/2 price. So that same outfit would have been less than $ 10.00. I get compliments all the time on my shoes and outfits. If they only knew how little I have paid for them. Books, kitchen items, storage bins, furniture, every nook and cranny is worth looking at. When I start sneezing that's my time to go cash out. And don't be mistaken into thinking the employees get to grab the best stuff before it hits the show floor racks. I used to think this way but I asked about this and was told the staff have to wait until they are not working and shop what's on the floor, just like the rest of us . Another plus is how friendly I have found all the staff to be at this store. Almost anything can be returned for a store credit with the receipt - clothes you have 14 days with tags still on them and electronics you have 24 hours to take the item home and make sure it works This is a great place to find bargains!! read more

I am a thrift store lover! This is one of my fav places to go for amazing finds. I have gotten authentic coach bags in the past and other designer threads! I love finding a great bargain. If you really look some of the clothing has never been worn before and has the original tag on it. Right now I am rocking a pair of jeans from Talbots that are brand new! They are so comfy. You can find just about anything your hear desires there. It is a great place to go during Halloween to pop some tags and rock your grandpa's coat lol. I also like to decorate my cubicle at work for each season. I can find cute items to give my desk some flare. I also donate to this organization. TIP: Look behind the cash register that is where the higher quality items are located like North Face jackets and designer bags. You can really have fun in this store. Don't be turned off from the Goodwill Store by the snobbish reviewers who gave this place 1 or 2 stars because of the staff. Those reviewers probably brought it upon themselves. After all, this place is not a restaurant and it's not Neiman Marcus, it's a thrift store! The poorly paid staff and volunteers have to put up with mostly poor and sickly customers and it's a tough job for anyone. There is absolutely no reason to be dissuaded from this store because some reviewers did not like how the staff treated them on a given day. We have never, ever had a problem with the staff and we frequent this store often both to donate and to shop. You shop at this store to find hidden deals and this place can be a gold mine. Sometimes you'll go there and you'll find something amazing - like a new Ralph Lauren shirt ,never worn with the original tags and all- for just $3. Purchased! Other times, you might not find anything worth buying. This all part of the adventure of going to a thrift store. Hi everyone , I had to rite a review about the Goodwill store on the So Artery in Quincy Ma. I visit here to see whats new/used in store for sale . The prices are incredibly cheap , and a lot of the clothing and furniture , etc. are new or almost brand new .I would recommend that anyone going shopping , to check here first to see if they have what your looking for to buy . The Staff are friendly and helpful , with no hassle returns . I have purchased 2-9 drawer bureaus 1 for $8.99 and the other $7.99 , incredible . I also bought an 8ft x10ft rug for about $9.99 ,that was beautiful , a bit heavy , and very nice looking . Have shopped here a few times only to find the store a bit on the messy side and some clothing with rips or stains. Tried to donate some gently used toys today only to be met by a volunteer with, "NOPE, we don't take those". A kinder, more grateful customer service would have been better, for sure. Donations are what make this store exist and gratitude for a client who wants to willingly give would surely have inspired more giving in the future, even if a certain item is not accepted for the moment. I am going to give all Goodwill shoppers a warning. This store now has a "computer section," but read this 3 times. DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM THIS STORE!!!! Not even if it is brand new. The computers are so called refurbished, but you can still end up finding 1 or 2 pieces of data on the pc. Also, the computers are around $ 20-40 over priced. also, goodwill's "return Policy" is 1 week long and the absolute worst part is.... your money when returned is store credit, so you can only use your money on other used garbage in the goodwill store. read more

I love love love this location. I always find amazing stuff and I love that they have a 14 day return for credit policy. I don't always have time to try stuff on and that makes it much easier to bring back an item and grab something different. The selection is pretty amazing. I only go for the clothes and shoes, but I am never disappointed. My only complaint is that they close an hour earlier now. Other than that Keep up the great work!!! You guys rock!! read more
