First time came shopping for a couch and found a good variety of styles, fabrics, and sizes. Sadly, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I left empty handed. Next time I was there to shop for a dress for a formal event. So many beautiful dresses to choose from! Well organized by colors. Price points for all shoppers. Dressing room leaves a lot to desire. Clearly the oldest, most ignored part of the store. Flimsy walls. My door had trouble closing. But it provides privacy, so it achieves its purpose. Also want to comment that Christmas is slowly invading the store and it isn't even Halloween at this time.

Pins and dust and lint.

Spent 10 mins in this store and wanted to take a shower. Went to men's suits. The ones employee in area was helping someone. So got a pair a pants to try on to get an idea on size and style. Walked into dressing room and it was disgusting. Pins all over the floor. No place to sit. Door doesn't lock. Corners were full of lint and god knows what else. Now I know staff is short. But this looks like hasn't been cleaned in months.

I do have to say sale people all friendly except cosmetics only one lady named Dora was so nice. Thank goodness the majority were helpful. I do know Macys can have better ratings but only problem was two very young sales people in cosmetics were texting, talking and never asked me if I needed help so I left without buying what I needed in there department. Overall macys carries a good quantity of quality items here one thing stands out was the pearls which are beautiful a sales girl in the jewelry department showed me some mens diamond rings all worth viewing. I do need to return just to see if I can get a make over by the nice lady name Dora in Lancome for make over since I see she had a women she was working on. You have to call for an apt for make over facials ect. I will indeed stop in for that reason Happy shopping for all shopaholics till next review see y'all later

Needed some shoes and I got some very good shoes from Macys and the store is well stocked with what you might need. Good place to shop.

We hired a photographer and gathered our team together for a photo shoot in the next few weeks. The photographer provided us with clothing recommendations and that is when I had the Aha Covid moment. I hadn't worn a suit or a business jacket in years. Pre-Covid for sure. To be fair, I rarely did to begin with, but I did have a suit and a couple of jackets. I pulled them out and to my surprise, none, I mean not a single one of them fit. It wasn't that I had gained significant weight, but the last 3 yrs I have been regularly working out with a trainer. The jackets fit as well as the jackets Pee-Wee Herman used to wear. I needed a jacket and needed it in a few weeks. I have driven by Capra, numerous times over the years and promised myself, that I would treat myself and pick up a suit there one day. Well this was a perfect time to do so. I grabbed Suz to head out to Capra. They are easy to get to and have a parking garage at no cost. Which is a plus. We walked in to the store and behold, all sorts of suits, jackets, shirts, slacks. I mean everything a dude could wish for. I made my way in and Ivan approached me and asked if he could be of service. I explained why I was there and my timeline. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to have a suit made in time for the photo shoot, but he did let me know of a very nice high end line of ready made, if you will. We looked at swatches and being a favorite of blue, found a colour that I really liked. He looked at me and said, I believe your are a 48R, which I was a few years ago. So we slipped one on and immediately went to a 50R, if I remember correctly. He jumped on a call quickly, only to find out they didn't have one in stock that size, but had options. Again, this was a timeline issue for me. I knew I was pushing finding something of quality with only a couple of weeks notice. Ivan had an alternative, which was actually my second favorite, so we went with that version. He let me know it would be shipped in a few days and he would give me a call once at the store to be fitted. True to his word, he called and I was off to get fitted. The jacket was everything I expected. Fine tailoring, wonderfully soft material and the colour was perfect. He spent about 5-10 minutes fitting it, making chalk lines and let me know when it would be ready to pick up. Less than a week later, I popped by to pick it up, it was fitted correctly and off I went. Ivan was polite, insightful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A pleasure to work with. I will find a time to come back and have a suit made at Capra and find reasons to wear as often as possible. What a great experience all around.

I came in needing some business casual shirts. Michael laid out (literally) several great options and discussed sizes. Once he found what I needed, he continued to suggest items that might be a fit. This was not a pushy sales job to send me out with just anything. He seemed to genuinely care about my needs. Also left me to wander when that is what I wanted to do. I picked out a couple of nice shirts, but I want to come back when I have more time, as the selection is quite varied, with lots of options - from very casual to dress and outerwear. Michael got me a water, asked about my needs - it was such great and friendly service. Others should come and learn about taking care of customers. At one point a couple came in, and someone needed something Billy Reid did not carry. Michael directed him to a specific shop that would meet his needs. Truly helpful. Oh - and the place was immaculate and well lit. I will definitely be back!

Oscar helped me with jeans while another staff member helped my bf with tshirts (didn't catch his name). I told Oscar my dilemma with my 1955 jeans, and he recommended boncoura work pants to me. I think they're a new product and were made in partnership with self edge? I don't remember all the details beyond him telling me he fits women in these pants because they surprisingly fit women really well. I tried them on...and yeah. I walked out of the store with them and wore them the rest of the day lol. Everyone was super helpful while we shopped and tried clothes on. I think I actually had a better experience here than at the SF store. They have a parking lot out front, so the store is really accessible. If you're looking for raw denim, visit self edge. If you're looking for premium, well-made basics or you're into working menswear from Japan, go to self edge. They're knowledgeable, and they're passionate about the industry and products they carry. I'm glad self edge opened a store in Austin bc I'm pretty sure there isn't another store here that is within this market of clothing. I'll definitely come back as soon as my budget allows!

Things have changed. And sadly, it's not really due to the haircut itself. I walked into the shop and the girl behind the desk does not acknowledge me. It's not like she was busy or anything - she was just staring directly at me as if I was lost. I cheerily say hi - she continues to stare at me through her glasses. I say hi again, assuming she didn't hear me the first time but she just stares - I immediately felt uncomfortable and felt compelled to announce that I was there for my 11am appointment and that i was indeed in the right place. She is very clearly glaring at me now, finally acknowledges my presence, doesn't say hi, and checks me in. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable until my barber arrived. I'm not sure why she had the attitude - maybe it's because of my skin color or that I'm clearly from out of town? Either way, we just need to treat all people with kindness. I wondered if maybe I was being overly sensitive or if this was in my head and this was just how she was - so I observed how she checked in other customers. but she was warm and welcoming to all of the other folks I saw come in. Said hi, smiled, welcomed them. Now I felt like a dark cloud was over me and I was clearly not imagining it. Not my best impression of Austin. Saddened and disappointed. My actual haircut with jace was alright. Good conversation and he was warm and welcoming, but He had the chair turned away from the mirror so I could not see how the haircut was progressing. Before I know it, he's putting product in my hair and I had to ask to see how my haircut actually looks before we start sending me away - he then finally shows me a mirror and I'm not happy with the sides, not much has changed and I had to tell him to take more off. He made some adjustments and it's alright but I'll probably fix it when I get home. Lastly, the staff here did not wear masks, even though they should be bc Austin is in stage 4.
