This store hasn't got any better since I wrote my review three years ago, and I don't understand how it stays open! The ladies in the cosmetic department, who were very nice and helpful, and I bought a nice perfume after their suggestions of a few of them. BUT the rest of the store was full of very rude, very lazy salespeople. Nobody wanted to give me the time of day. I was in the men's department, fine jewelry, and lingerie, and bought nothing but my perfume. On top of that, big signs advertising certain percents off the items, and in very, very, insignificant small lettering, it said the discount only was to be applied if you opened a Macy charge card. Otherwise, you paid original prices. No sales there. Macy's, this is why more and more people are shopping on Amazon ... NO LOYALTY , NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND RUDE PEOPLE WORKING FOR YOU. read more

So disappointed by the customer service. When I asked to find a larger size of a dress they said they had it but couldn't find it. The older Indian woman by dresses didn't offer to try to find it somewhere else and said I could call other stores myself read more

In the women's section this store has become a dump. Of course the designer sections are beautifully organized and pristine but the Macy's label area is horrendous. The areas of the final markdowns used to be very nice and all the sizes were in the right places. But not anymore! Heading over to Carsons. Permanently. read more

Associates were VERY unhelpful. I was waiting to be helped at the jewelry counter for almost 30 minutes with little more than a glance. A woman came in and the associate went straight to her asking if she needed help. I do not appreciate being ignored and WILL NOT be shopping here any longer. read more

Store is very disorganized. I was shopping in the dress clearance section and there was a sign on every rack that said extra 30% off clearance and an extra 15% if you open a macys card. I spent time looking and trying on dresses just to find out at the register that they were priced as marked. I told her about the 30% off sign on all the racks and she said "I don't care what the sign says if the register says it's priced as marked". Not shopping there again. read more

This is a great macys very comfortable waiting areas. nice and clean bathrooms. they also have good sales.

I have tried calling the store 4 days this week to discuss an incorrect charge. Wanted to purchase new mattresses. I had to go back to the store 3 times before someone was actually working in this dept. No wonder sales are down. Finally, ordered 2 queen mattress sets in the store and called back the next day to order a 3rd queen mattress set. Myrna was to match the same pricing, but did not. I am trying to get my price adjusted and mattresses are being delivered this Saturday. Yesterday, after finally calling the main number and being transferred 3 times, I got a person who could not help me. Then, she tried transferring me to a manager, but manager was with a different customer. Manager was to call me back. 24 hrs later, I still have not gotten a call back! Highly disappointed in the lack of service and staffing. Is anyone there ever??? read more

Went in yesterday looking for a dress for a wedding tomorrow. Management needs to stop being lazy & do more to properly train their associates. There were dresses all over the place, a ton of dresses on racks not on the sales floor, same style dresses were just hung on whatever rack scattered in the department but what upset me the most is one particular dress I found. It had a tag half ripped off but it shown a sales tag (red line with orig. & price). The ACTUAL sale price was the part ripped off. It rung up for the original price so I asked to speak to a manager. The manager stated the dress is still the original price & I explained why is there a sales tag on here & she stated, "Oh well it still says $99.00 on there- yes BUT it had a sales tag on there & it stated ORIG. THEN the price. As a consumer, it is not MY FAULT your STAFF didn't correct the price. It was a worn out dress from prom season anyway (prom was stated on the tag). Anyone who has shopped at Macy's KNOWS when things are supposed to be on sale from previous seasons & certainly know what their sales tags look like. LONG STORY SHORT FOUND THE SAME DRESS IN MUCH BETTER CONDITION at the Macy's in Schaumburg & I INDEED WAS CORRECT- it was a dress 77% off. It is not about the price, just the principal of Macy's workers especially management wanting to do NOTHING to look into their own mistakes. Don't go to this location. Take your business to another Macy's where the clothing is taken care of & you get more for your money. read more

Can't speak for all the departments as usually they are short staffed this time of year. However, the fine jewelry department manager V. and associate E. are some of the best I have done business with. Mark in the salon is great. The service at this store is atrocious. I called in looking for a particular jacket and they put in on hold for literally 20 minutes while I could hear the sale associates laughing in the background. What a terrible way to treat a customer. Go to Nordstroms for better service and clearance. Don't bother wasting your money here they don't appreciate your business. read more

I would have liked to rate this review with no stars but I had to choose at least one star in order to post my review. I was at Macy's on Feb 1, 2016 during the day in the Men's shoe department were I was going to purchase some ties for my husband. I was discriminated against because I'm a African American woman by the white woman working behind the counter who refused to acknowledge my presence but acknowledged the white man behind me even after he told her I was there first. Macy's you must do better, professionalism means everything in business. Employees must set aside their personal feelings when dealing with customers. Not thrilled with the service I received at the Chanel counter today. I went in expecting to basically be doted on (not because I think I should but more so because that's just how the employees usually are). What I got was the exact opposite. Walked up to the counter and knew exactly what I was looking for. I told the girl I wasn't sure of my foundation color but took a guess. Well s*** wouldn't ya know, it's like I'd pissed in her Cheerios asking her to show me the colors. She acted annoyed opening the bottles for me, kind of huffing and looking around while I did a swatch on my wrist. I settled quickly on the second shade. She rings me out ($112 for TWO products hence my expecting better service) and hands me my bag. I say thank you and get a cold "you're welcome" in response. No "have a nice day" or "thanks for stopping in". I mean, I work at freaking Walgreens and provide better service to customers spending 50 cents let alone over $100. Maybe I went in expecting too much, but based on experiences I've had at the other booths within Macy's, this was not a pleasant one. The only thing making me not completely regret just buying the items from Nordstrom online is that the foundation shade I originally selected would've been too dark. However, now that I know, id definitely go online before having to feel like I'm "bothering" you to service me. read more

While I was NOT thrilled when I learned my beloved Marshall Fields was going to be a distant memory for NYC super department store Macy's, I have to admit I have adapted to the change well. The Fox Valley Macy's isn't the best store within the company BUT when I had a major concern it was addressed with prudence and the utmost professionalism in a more than fair manner (a HUGE thank you to Dilshad Ikramullah). The management team here is very sensitive to their customer's needs and concerns and are more than happy to listen to any complaint or criticism or compliment you voice. The Macy's here is also always offering very good sales that combined with coupons or WOW passes are HUGE bargains! My favorite thing is the clearance selection though, especially in the women's designer area. That is one spot where there is a great variety and something for everyone. It's nice to be able to buy something really nice and get it at a discount! read more
