I haven't been to a Macy's in FOREVER... the main reason why I am giving this location 4 stars is because of the customer service I had received. I went in to do an exchange at the Watch Department and there was only 1-2 ladies on staff... though it did take a while for me to get noticed, I liked how patient the lady was with me while I decided which watch to do the exchange on. There was another woman who arrived after me who just wanted links taken out of her watch, but the lady who was helping me told her she would be helped after she was done helping me. I thought that was nice since I was expecting the lady to say she would be right back... but maybe that's just protocol since she was pretty much the only one who would be watching me trying on the watches, lol. Anywho... I liked how easy going she was and didn't try to rush me in making my decision and she was super kind. read more

Decent place. I came here during the holidays to pick up a purchase I made online. Even though they were busy, I found being able to pick up my purchase very easy. They emailed me once they had the item ready. Finding the pickup area was very easy and they had a line designated for online pickups so that you don't have to waste time waiting in line for something that you have already purchased. The only issue I had was it seemed like I was waiting a while for the guy to return from the back with my item. So I don't know if he couldn't find it, didn't have it, or taking a small break. Either way it was just a bit too long. read more

I tried calling to see if they had a particular item in stock, and they force you to go through their inefficient automated phone system to find the correct department you're looking for. I tried 3 different departments just to try to get ahold of anyone and all 3 didn't pick up. Overall a terrible system. read more

This store is an utter mess - especially the shoe department. My mom needed to buy some new work shoes and we stood around waiting for 10 minutes just to get two sizes. When I asked for help the girl was so incredibly rude and frustrated. I understand that it is busy and that you are short staffed (I have worked retail before) but do not take your frustrations and anger out on me. I am not the reason you are short-staffed nor am I the person who made you angry before hand. When they brought out the shoes she said that only one they had was the floor sample and my mom said that was fine as they were the most comfortable. She then proceeded to tell us that because we wanted them we "have to find them out on the sales floor." Uhm, excuse me? What now? This sales floor is an utter fucking mess. There are shoes everywhere, on the floor, on chairs, on tables, on the register counter, literally everywhere. I am not an employee at your store, let alone your department, if you want to make the sale your job is to find the shoes. My mom began to look for them but couldn't find them, when she asked to have them ordered online for ship to store, the frustration on her face was more than evident. By this point I had enough of this store, every sales associate's crappy attitude, and crappy service. As I put the shoes back on the counter very obviously expressed her anger at my not buying them as if she had done any work to be mad about. Sadly, this is not the first time we've experienced something like this at Macy's which is why I'm writing this review. Workers here suck and they're always in a crap mood. This place is a mess. Literally. I'm not sure if management is entirely to blame, but it certainly has some serious issues with upkeep - in terms of neatness and order. Certain Macy's stores don't have a very vast selection, either. This is definitely one of those stores. There's a Macy's out east, near Rancho Cucamonga, with a MUCH BETTER INVENTORY. "South Coast" Macy's has a wonderful selection, too, but that drive is even further away. On a positive note: the staff is always very kind and helpful. read more

As I walked into the Santa Anita mall on Monday Oct 9 at 10am, I asked a lady by the name of Doreen for help. She clearly didn't want to help me but was rude. I asked if there were 2 or 3 more of an item that was sitting on display. And she went to look. Got me 2 more but then I asked if there were 1 more and she rudely said you said it was 2. And she kept repeating that refusing to look for 1 more for me. I then started to bend over to look for 1 more and so she went to look for that last one. She tried to hand me the last one and my hands were full plus I am 38 weeks pregnant. Clearly she didn't want to help me. I then proceeded to ask her to place it down for me. She placed it at the register and mumbled she isn't a sales rep. That's fine if you are not. No need to be rude. I placed the three others on the display to take a last look and she said if you are not purchasing it then I'm putting them back. She said it three times. I then told her I'm trying to decide and please let me have some time. She walked away. Then at the register a sales rep name Dolly checked me out and I proceeded to try to use my 25% off one time email register coupon. Well it didn't work so she applied a 20% off coupon instead. After I swiped my credit card, there was a message on the customer pad for the customer and I didn't even get to read it, she just clicked on no for me. That is not right for the sales person to just answer the customer's messages and questions for them on the customer credit card swipe pad. Well I didn't get to use my one time 25% off anything since the sales rep didn't know how to apply the promo code. But I took a quick look at the message that she clicked on 'no' which I thought contained saying that I still have the 25% off coupon in my inbox. She clearly wanted me to spend more money and didn't know how to apply the code. Never will I shop at this Macy's. I will need to drive to Pasadena eventhough it's a bit further away. read more

One lady was helping me to get the foundation, and I asked the other lady(Chinese lady) about another product. She said "you ask her. You ask her " very rudely. For a Macy's, I thought it would be cleaner and that the selection would be better. I was wrong. So very wrong. This was my first visit to any Macy's and it will probably be my last. I had found several adorable and affordable dresses on their website. Not one of them were to be found in this store. The plus size clothes are banished to the third floor, in the very back. The escalator between the second and third floor was broken when we went so I got a free workout on my way to their terrible clothing section. When I finally got there I was severely disappointed. They had mostly casual wear and a lot of old lady stuff. They had a few inappropriately-short prom dresses on "sale" for $100. A maxi dress (floor-length tee-shirt material dress typically used as a swimsuit cover) for $75 and it wasn't even a designer item. I didn't see anyone working on the floor. I finally spotted someone and was told that they "might" have more plus sized dresses on the second floor, but she wasn't sure. I checked and they didn't. Yikes. read more

I like Macy's selection of clothes for men. You got to love the store wide sales. Those are the days to purchase those suits, shirts, jeans and shoes. On a negative side: I hate passing through the center where all the ladies work and sell perfume and facial stuff. The women who work there are snooty and come off with an attitude. I went to Macy's today and bought a really good looking blazer for work. The store didn't seem crowded in the clothing department but the check out lines were super long. I walked around checking and all stations have only 1 cashier vs. 10 customers minimum in line. If you are having a sale then you might want to add additional cashier? I was 2nd in line and thought it will be done 5 minutes top. I ended up standing in line for 30 minutes because the cashier offered to individually wrapped the garments for the lady. Then she said she was having computer problem. Another cashier came over but pulled customers from the back of the line first? Wth! Macy's please get it together. read more

As I fluttered and batted my eyes longingly for a makeover at the Dior boutique in Macy's with one of their lovely ladies, my friend and I were quickly greeted, seated, and ready to be pampered. As this was my first make-up experience, I was naturally excited, nervous, and obscenely gitty. Why? Because not only did I receive a great makeover, I saved 20% and gained valuable insight into the world of make-up artistry, not to mention the free products and gifts that I received on the same day. Most of the time, Dior and other makeup boutiques do not offer discounts for their products. However, when you sign up for a credit card at a make-up boutique in Macy's, you get 20% off on these makeup products for the first two days within activation. Not only that, if you sign up, you accumulate credit with Dior for the full price (which you did not pay for). Under the magical hands of Kimbra, I transformed from Godzilla to bjork within 30 minutes and walked away with: Diorskin Airflash (a liquid spray that is supremely magical and is not flaky), Skin Flash (radiance booster pen to highlight features), and Harmonie de Blush (a warm touch to the cheeks), three other samplers for the face and one for the belly, one face care consultation, and walked away feeling like a goddess, all under $120. I know, the price is steep, but at least it's an investment for the future. :D. Word on the street is that Dior will be sending a free brow kit to current clients, and they're going to be mailed out in March. I usually stay away from Department Stores because of their prices but sometimes I pop into one of them just for fun. It's easy to get lost in this Macy's but I think that's the norm for most department stores because they are so huge. I came here with my bf to find him some chino pants and the guy who was working there was great and helped us find what we were looking for. The dressing rooms were deserted so that was kind of strange that no one was working them but whatever, more freedom. I hate walking through the perfume department because they try to attack you and make you sample their new products... ugh. Shoe selection here was average but Nordstrom is better. read more

I went in last week to check out the Chanel makeup counter to buy a foundation powder. This nice Asian lady helped me to get matched. Now, I'm giving this place a one star because they need to be train on being hygienic. I'm a makeup artist and in school I was taught NEVER EVER blow on your makeup brushes or sponges when you're working on a client. Why?! Duh, germs. She BLEW on the goddamn sponge and I lost my shit because I had Chanel foundation with a hint of fucking spit. And to top it off they don't disinfect their products either. Just like any other Macy's, but this one didn't have the white jacket I was looking for, but I did find a black vest. The racks were really stuff, so everything kinda just blurred together. My friend was trying to get a $10 off $40 coupon or something off of her DROID so she can show it to the cashier and get the discount for me. I didn't know we can do that, but I guess we would. Unfortunately, the droid froze.... and we couldn't get the coupon to show, so after about 20 seconds of frantically trying to get it to work, the cashier was like "it's okay, I'm sure you got it and automatically put in a coupon code for us to get the same discount. I give this place 3.5 stars. I don't go to Macy's often, but I've become increasingly a fan of their designer collaborations for Macy's & the shoe section in particular. When I went on a weekday afternoon, I found a shoe sale going on. I did not find any shoes on sale that fit me & were comfortable so I decided to try on some shoes that weren't on sale. There were two salesman working while I was there. Since it wasn't busy, I didn't have to wait long before a salesman approached me, asked if I needed help, & brought me the desired shoes in the desired sizes. Since I already had an idea of what I wanted & I'm not indecisive. I purchased the comfortable, mid-priced leather flats. The whole transaction took less than half an hour. I love it when my mission is accomplished easily & efficiently! Parking was a breeze at the mall & I'll be back when I need everyday essentials, such as flats & sandals! read more

Macy's is not one of my favorite places to shop, it's so large and overwhelming that I end up leaving before I even try. However, I came here for a shopping day with some family and we had a satisfactory experience: WOMEN'S SHOES: The clearance section was pretty pathetic and otherwise the selection was pretty standard. WOMEN'S CLOTHES: As I've come to expect from Macy's, clothing was everywhere in seemingly no particular order. I didn't see anything I particularly liked, but my sister in law found several pieces she really liked, so I will count that as a success. CHILDREN'S CLOTHING: We stopped off to find an Easter dress for a little girl. They had a decent selection. We found a dress we really liked that was the wrong size and a sales associate helped us find other locations that had the dress in the size we needed. I thought that was very nice. But when it came to checking out there was only one associate in this section, maybe the entire 3rd floor but I didn't verify that. Overall a satisfactory experience! read more

I had purchased a Levi's Sherpa Jacket online as a christmas present for a family member that turned out to be too small. My family member asked if i could exchange it for a bigger size; since I work in the mall it was very convenient for me. I stopped by Macy's today, January 16, to make the exchange and the first associate that I spoke with was very nice as she saw that the jacket did not have the tag on it, which I was not aware of but I did have my receipt. The first associate that I spoke with had let me know that there was only five in stock and that if I wanted to go check them out I was more then welcome to and so I did. As I was searching for a bigger size I saw that they did not have the one I was searching for. I then proceeded to walk to the associate near the men's section; she was around 5'2, black hair with a very short pixie cut. I had let her know that the associate at the "exchange and return" let me exchange the jacket but that I did not see the size I wanted. I gave her the jacket and she proceeded to look for the tag, before I could even speak in a very stern voice she started to tell me that she could not return it because it didn't have the tag, I told her that I wasn't looking to return it only exchange. I work in retail so I understand that it's very inconvenient to return things without a tag but again I was not aware of this. She did raise her voice a little to repeat herself which caught me off guard and so I said "I'll just go back to the other associate and exchange it with her" she then asked if I had the receipt and I did so I showed it to her. She accepted to do the exchange since I had the receipt with me and told me that it would be two separate transactions, one to return and another to exchange. I was not giving her a hard time at all and I was being nice. I asked if I could put the return on a different card to which she replied no it has to be on the card that I had used to make the purchase with unless it was a stolen card. I'm not sure if she meant to say that unless the card was stolen from me that I could use a different card but the way she worded her sentence took me a little by surprise and offended me. Before I had inserted my card she had told me that I could order the size I was looking for with her, which is why I proceeded with the exchange. I get my return and receipt without a problem. This next part made me really upset because she specifically told me that i could get the size I was looking for with her, making me think that it was in stock. She told me that I can go on the Macy's website and order it there because the warehouse that was connected to this Macy's didn't have the size I was looking for. I work in retail and do this almost everyday, why wouldn't she check first before making any type of return or exchange?? I'm upset because I was not looking to get my money back, all I wanted from this was a different size. Her customer service was so bad I even said thank you to her in a nice voice not one ounce of anger in my tone and she said nothing to me. I understand that I could've also not done the exchange at this Macy's since I did not see the size I wanted in stock but this associate could have checked before telling me that I could get the size I wanted with her. Macy's you should really teach your associates to not be misleading and to have some manners! read more

I came by to pick up my online order for a cookware item. the associate was pleasant in breezing through the transaction. i will praise them on how neatly the merchandise were on displayed. the assoc were also tolerable on repeating the same info to a couple that was asking about pricing or a certain product. on my way out, about 3 different cosmetic associates were friendly with big smiles on their face asking if i needed help. although i was just heading back out to the parking lot, if only i had questions. they seem ready to help. the best time to go to any mall is right when they open. I returned an item i bought online, but they cant credit me back to my credit card, i brought the receipt and everything. Just because my credit card was replaced due to a suspicious activity, they cant issue the credit to my new card (which is basically the same card I use to purchase). I was a former employee at Macy's in Arcadia. The reason I am writing this 1 star review is because I worked for the stock/merchandising department, and as a former fellow worker and a paying customer, I am disappointed with how the people treat customers. There are times when I want to help out a customer but because of my position,apparently it was the sales associate's job. Sometimes I feel bad because I am able to communicate with customers nicely and obviously I know what I'm talking about. And sad thing is that most of the sales associates don't really have a good understanding of their jobs. They don't really help customers as a former employee, I would experience a sales associate chatting with their fellow co-worker rather than helping out a customer and to me, if you're not gonna do your job, please quit so someone with a hard working personality can take your place. Plain and simple. I understand not everyone is perfect . There were times when the customers are having a bad shopping experience and In the end I don't blame them. Because working in retail in my prior work experience should be all about providing the best customer service after all that's what we're trained and paid to do. My ultimate suggestion for the company is to hire more people that can speak a 2nd language.It doesn't matter about what ethnicity or nationality you originated from but if you are able to speak a 2nd language (primarily Spanish or/and Chinese ) , you're golden. For example, Macy's in Arcadia and the whole mall has mainly Asian shoppers which is cool but If you don't have enough people to speak another language, the what's the point of operating a business? read more

This review is related to ordering from Macy's customer service line 1-800-45-Macys. I asked if I could reserve an item in the recent catalog as is indicated on the front cover of the catalog. Three customer service reps could not help me, find the catalog or transfer me to a supervisor. I was asking a simple question, can I reserve as the catalog suggests. Two hung up on me without answering. 1 said she could not find the catalog and I would have to pay full price and when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, hung up on me. I am a Macys customer of 40 years, this is horrible customer service. I guess the reps cannot think out of the box other than to fulfill an order. read more
