This company definitely has occasional styles that match my taste. For a while, they did have customized tailoring service, including sleeve shortening although more recently they stated they do not have that. I will need to look into this further, especially because I personally have a hard time wearing off the rack Clothes. At a minimum they do offer hemming. Very easy and seamless online ordering and in-store services up to including returns as needed. One recent issue I noticed is their sizes are too big. This review is not about any particular store. It's about online purchase and the problem with getting a refund. I ordered a dress online. After several days, I checked with UPS about the status of my order. I found out that the item had been damaged in transit and was returned to BR. I contacted BR customer service. They said they know about the damaged dress and were going to refund me in full. After several days the refund came through. However, they did not give me credit for the delivery charge. I called them again. They said, it must be a problem with Apple Pay..NOT TRUE. They assured me that the delivery charge will be refunded very soon. It is now several weeks later and still NO REFUND FOR DELIVERY CHARGE ON AN ITEM THAT WAS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT AND RETURNED TO BR by UPS. Do NOT trust their online and customer service. Carmen is lovely. We had a wonderful visit at Banana Republic. She greeted us and provided an exceptional experience all the way through. With a wonderful selection to choose from, we tried on a variety of clothes and Carmen was there to help us every step of the way. From sizing exchanges in the dressing room, to bringing us her recommendation and even hydrating us with drinking water while we played dress up. Carmen made our whole experience fun, positive and memorable...truly a VIP experience. If she did that with the 2 of us, I know she is doing that with other customers as well. Treating people with the utmost respect builds trust and loyalty and Carmen did just that. I have returned online merchandise and also have purchased in store. The customer service from cashier, fitting room, to the floor was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They carry plenty of petite clothing which is a plus. Being a small Asian women, a S or XS is kind of deceiving because their idea of small isn't 14 year old girl small. So yes, BR gets it with the 00P and the 0P. I weigh 120, 5'2". If you're smaller than me, you might need a little tailoring. This BR offers most of the items that are popular online. I recommend trying on items you may love but not in your size and asking them to order it for you online and have it shipped to you. Some items are best tried in store as they may not look as good once on. I've been to other stores in similar genres and have also ended up disappointed with service or quality. I don't mind the prices because most of the items are pretty classic. My mom is 56 and has items from BR from the 80s that she still wears from time to time. So spending 180+ dollars on a dress doesn't seem too bad. read more

Located in Old Town Pasadena this is an open airy store as opposed to the Glendale Galleria store which is stuck in a mall. I went there on a Saturday afternoon to take advantage of their 50% off Friends and Family sale. Merchandise was plentiful and neatly arranged and everyone was helpful. One nice thing I noticed was that when a gentleman was waiting for a cashier, the salesperson directed him to another register where he didn't have to wait. 1-1/2 hr. free parking in city lots. read more

Service has always been very helpful at this BR location as it's not inside a mall. I found some good deals here prior to the Christmas rush where the first item (highest ticketed amount) is 50% off and the rest of your purchase is 40% off... Angel was the sales associate that helped me. He not only help set up a fitting room for me but he also checked back stock to make sure other items I was looking for werent in the stock room. I appreciate his help and I definitely walked away with a good feeling about my purchases. I will be back soon. Parking is metered street parking. Came here twice and had wonderful experiences both times. The people on the floor are very helpful, personable, and kind - they were checking in without being too pushy and genuinely happy to help me find a couple of items. Really sweet people. The store is huge, multiple rooms to go through. They have great selections. Fitting rooms are brightly lit which were nice for trying out clothes. When purchasing the clothes, I noticed there is a bit of a push to get the BR credit card. :) I'll definitely be going back here to purchase more BR clothing! read more

Definitely one of the best Bananas in the area. One of the largest stores as well. Great selection of everything on the boys side - even a pretty good selection of shoes. Very friendly staff and management. Large roomy dressing rooms. Nice clearance area as well. Banana has been aggressive on their promos lately and their latest of buy 3 items get 45% off is a steal.... 50% off if you use their charge card. Great selection and plenty of sizes. No nearby immediate parking unless you are lucky and can find street parking in front.....but well worth the walk especially since you are in Old Town Pasadena......and judging by the number of ladies shopping at this location...they must have one of the better selection of styles and sizes for ladies as well. I have never lived in Pasadena before but I still consider Pasadena a second home to me. Especially Old Town since I have been coming to this area when I was 12 years old with my best friend. We use to live in Orange County and our parents would drop us off on the streets and let us roam around the whole entire day on the weekend. Still have so many memories and I love coming to this Banana Republic. It is such a well organized store with many of the sizes still available when you are picking something that you fell in love with. I love the new collection maybe you can say I have old style but the Mad Men collection for women looks really cute. I love the sleeveless shell shirt. It does wonders for making you look like you have a figure. Something with the cuts and when you try on clothes here it just fits perfect. Service here is wonderful, if you need a different size just ask the changing room assistant and they will pick the right one for you. Yes the price to some people might be a little bit expensive but they also do have things on sale and hey it's not bad to check out these items every few weeks. *Yes I am addicted* So if you have yet to come to Old Town Pasadena don't worry just get over here and you can walk the streets with many different stores and wonderful eats. This location is in Old Pasadena and I love being in Pasadena whether it is exploring the city, enjoying a cup of coffee or shopping. For years, my boyfriend and I have shopped at various Banana Republic locations. I like the quality of the clothes and shoes. I get excited when I see leather shoes on sale in my size. I like the layout and massive size of this store. The ladies and men sections are on opposite sides of the store and it is open. The only complaint is that a new item will tend to sell out quickly so you may have a difficult time finding your size. Yet I like that if the store does not have your size, they will ship it to your home for free. We will be back! read more

I think as far as Banana Republics go, this one is pretty nice. They are WAY over staffed though so every two seconds someone new comes up to ask you if you need help. I came here on their obvious 30% off this weekend shopping extravaganza and it was a fun time not so much for me but for my bf for sure. He found these killer on sale shoes that were even more discounted after the 30% off and were very business like and extremely comfortable (rare indeed!). The person working in the shoe area was very helpful and kept bringing us out different pairs of different sizes and making useful recommendations about how the fitment would be depending on certain situations. Finally decided on a size 9 but they only had a store display. The cashier was so helpful he called the other store and allowed me to make an order and ship it back north for a discount! This is a fairly large BR store. It has one side for men's clothes and shoes and another side for women's clothes/shoes. The two sides combine for one large store. The merchandise at BR is good quality for the price and I used to shop here a lot more a few years ago. I haven't been into buying new clothes, so I've been shopping less. BR does have good sale items in the back of the store, so look there if you want something at a discount. Every now and then, you will see 30% off discounts for items and sales in the newspaper. I would give this place a whopping zero stars for customer service if I could. I was taking a walk early in the morning and they were opened super early for holiday hours. Tried on stuff, said I would come by later to pick it. Came by on the tail end of my walk to purchase the merchandise. Was told because I didn't have my ID on me I could not use my BR card. I told them I have bought stuff without my ID and used my BR card before. They said that shouldn't have happened. I told them that is not the customers fault and they needed to leverage customers' expectations from the getgo. When I was returning my online purchase at the register I was shocked and insulted by the store manager, Maria. Professional and courteous to the frustrating, blonde customer before me her attitude immediately cooled towards me when I presented my return. Taking one look at the garment I received she immediately assumed it had been worn and washed without giving notice to the fact that the price tag was still intact. It was clear to me that she was venting her frustration she had with the blonde lady before me. Even so despite my attempt to be understanding and sympathetic she avoided eye contact and refused to accept the return even though it was clearly defective merchandise. To give context I have been a long time customer of Banana Republic. Most of our family clothes are from BA, and in general we have been very happy with the products. However this level of disrespect and unprofessional attitude is just unbelievable. She clearly has an attitude issue and possibly a racial disregard for Asians. She made excuses and later even lied to my husband -- a native speaker and long time resident of Pasadena -- about her side of the story when pressed for information. read more

MOST UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE EVER! I visited the store with my grandmother on 5/13/22 from around 6:30-7 PM. There was an employee who was HARASSING and it seemed like she was Racial Profiling us. She was a white lady with her hair in a braided pointy tail and was wearing all black. She kept looking at me in a condescending way up and down! I tried on a dress and she seemed like we were going to steal it the way she was hovering us. I paid for the dress and out the door, she kept looking in our bags and circling my grandmother and I. If you're a manager, please watch the cameras. That is not how you deal with customers! It seems like she's heavily medicated and she needs to see a therapist. I'm extremely disappointed and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else who steps foot into this store. I used to love this place. I live 2 blocks away and shop here ALL the time, so does my husband. But...not after today: I wanted to exchange some shirts that I got from my mom for Easter. I needed a few other sizes and styles. Well, they wouldn't do it. Nope, not without a receipt. I wasn't asking for anything special, give me the current selling price and let me make a purchase and spend even MORE money right now. But the manager, Colleen, offered a simple: 'that's our policy, I'm sorry'. All they would do is give me the current selling price and then mail me store credit. Hello! You have some sort of sale everyday, clearly you're hurting on cash - just let me buy stuff! So I ended up calling customer service and getting really mad at some poor guy in Ohio (sorry guy!). He then called the store manager and she agreed to let me exchange my items one time. Of course this is only after I threatened to stop shopping there and explained over and over again that all I wanted to do was make a purchase today and not have to call my mom and tell her that what she bought didn't fit or that I wanted to purchase something else. So I hope that Banana gets it together and joins the 21st century with regards to returns. If I wanted to return something at, say, Macys without a receipt they would actually give me cash back yet Banana won't even let me exchanged something for the lowest selling price. I also hope the manager is glad that she got me all riled up; I want her and the company to know that they have lost a Banana credit card customer as well as a regular customer. I love a lot of their clothes but now I'll stick to the outlets or at least another location since this one does not deserve my business. read more

I was digging for a size one time and the place was empty and the sales people never even look over or asked if I needed anything. Regular BR customer in various states (OR, TX, CA) as well as online. Never had a problem at any other store or online but last week I bought 2 pairs of Kentfield men's pants. Loved the pants, however after wearing one of the pairs twice to work (university professor) I noticed they had come apart at one of the seams. After taking them to the store for an exchange, the manager had the salesperson tell me they would not accept them because I had already worn them and hence they could not be resold. I am sorry but it is not my concern whether or not they can resell them. My concern is I spent $150 for 2 pairs of pants and after less than a week the manager at the Banana Republic store in Pasadena is telling me they do not stand behind their products. They said they had no way of knowing what kind of wear I put on them. Again, I am a university professor not a wrestler. That's 2 strikes- one for the quality of the pants and one for the horrible customer service. Not ready to give up on BR yet but will definitely never spend my money at the Pasadena store again. read more

While I initially read these reviews before visiting, I was actually quite pleased with my experience. Apparently the workers have some sort of system for being monitored for their customer service. When you make your purchase at the registers, the cashier asks if you've been helped and if so, by who. After I told them, she scanned his name card. I guess it prevents him from getting fired! Anyways, this store is quite huge for all the other BRs I've been to as of recent. I was pleased by the selection (yay clearances!) and I was able to snag a pair of jeans for less than 30 bucks (dang it was retailed for $90!?). Overall, good price, good quality, and good service. This is a great BR location. I'm always very inclined towards the design of these stores. They're always very spacious and very balanced with a good blend of clothing for both genders, yet always retaining a clear demarcation. This location is no exception. There is one particular employee on the men's side that has helped me a few times. He is very insightful, honest, and a pleasure to do business with. He deserves a shout out, but I can't remember his name. I'll find out and update this later. Anyway: very well lit, always organized, clean, and comfortable. The staff overall is helpful but not prying or spying. The products of course are solid, as you should expect from BR, and they always have a nice line, every season. I'm a big fan. If only they could move further away from A&F - I feel like I have radiation poisoning when within a thousand feet from the intoxicating smell of A&F perfumes. read more

In Phoenix, I loved going to Banana Republic - now this was a few years ago. The customer service was top notch! It reminded of visiting Nordie's. Today I went in and was greeted upon entry by the cashier in women's. :) I headed to the men's department and was looking at the chino slacks. A young man in men's offered assistance. I kept asking him if there were other types of slacks other than the few that were on the table and he said no. Then I asked about sizing and he said they did not come in any of the off sizes waist 31, 33, etc. and they only came in size 34. Perhaps this is the case for the store? So I went home and went on-line. I know I'm getting older but had I really imagined that BR carried multiple sizes and cuts of chino pants for men? Sure enough there they were: Gavin, Dawson, Emerson, Alden, Fulton. I'm sorry but how does a salesperson not know that there is not just one style of casual pants but really five not including cords and other pants??? It would have been so nice for him to take me to the computer, show me, and help me order them. Falsely Accused I came here earlier in January and spent about $500 over the course of two days. Before I bought a pair of clearance pants, I asked if I could return them. I was told yes- clearance items have the same return policy. I was asking because I wasn't A. The tags weren't brand new and B. I wasn't too sure about the fit of the pants- I wanted a second opinion. The SA who helped me was Angelica and was super cheery when I bought a bunch of stuff but not so helpful/cheery when I needed to return the pair of pants. She tried to guilt me into exchanging and then said "oh you got them at such a good deal. You might as well keep them." It's not a great deal if they look funny on me. Then she accused me of wearing the pants! I told her that's how SHE SOLD THEM TO ME. Are you kidding me?! Then as she was processing the return she stopped and said "oh hold on I have to get my manager. But don't worry I believe you!" You obviously don't. So hear comes Elizabeth who tells me "I'm sorry. We can't accept this return because it looks like it's been worn." I have never been treated this way or accused of something like this so I snapped. Elizabeth then offered me store credit. I especially don't want store credit now. I want a refund. Elizabeth finally agrees to do the refund and says "I'll allow this one time exception but just you know I now have to damage the pants." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Maybe you shouldn't have sold the pants in the first place!! Don't guilt me for your own mistakes. Afterwards I called customer care and was told Elizabeth should have said why they looked worn instead of just accusing me. The customer care rep spoke to was extremely helpful and considerate. Take note ladies! I've worked in retail so I understand wanting to reduce store shrinkage and deter abusive customers but they accused the completely wrong person. read more
