Suuuuper cute little vintage/consignment shop. Felt like I was in a garage of goodies! Beware, since it's been hot summer days thus far...it does get pretty hot in there. The owner has some hand fans placed in the front you may take and use. That made my shopping experience a little more enjoyable. They do have fitting rooms where you may try on your finds. They have a good mixture of old and new items. They had more selections in dresses and coats. And they did have some cute shoes for a decent price tag. Great finds with great prices. I got a Levi denim jacket with some embroidered flowers on it for only $20. Also got a cute dress for $20. They have some really cute vintage/consigned purses. Not really designer brands, but the aesthetic of the design of most of the purses is what really made my soul. I was also happy to see they had some vintage gloves, belts and hats as well. If you are into little Knick knacks, they also carry some cute little trinkets. Definitely will be back. I forgot to use my Yelp discount, so the more reason to return and do some more findings. Oh also, they do have an instagram and what they do post via Instagram, you'll have to go in and ask if it's still available? They keep those postings separate in case a virtual buyer beats you to the punch.

Super adorable vintage shop I happen to check out with a friend of mine! It's tiny but had enough clothes/accessories/shoes etc. to rummage through. I scored a really cute pair of high-waisted jeans and a floral button down shirt. Very reasonable prices. I loved the displays and the girl working there was super sweet! I'll definitely be back.

Across the street from the South Pasadena Metro on Meridian! Check it out

This is one of the last 'true vintage' stores left in Los Angeles.

Can I sell my clothes here?

I emailed the owner, Delilah, first, to see if she was in the market for some pieces I had. You can contact them through their website: https://hotboxvintage.com/contact/

I found Eva's store while my husband and I were walking along Mission Avenue in South Pasadena. We had moved away from this area almost 10 years ago and wasn't familiar with what business were there now. We knew about the Dinosaur Store, one of the best places to connect with your inner child, across the way, but did not expect to find this Eva's gem of a store across the way. My husband was the one who spotted and encouraged me to walk in and see what was there. It was unpretentious and unassuming from the outside, until you walk in and discover Eva's treasures. I have now been to the store twice and Eva was there both times, to my delight. She is just as lovely as her designs. She took such care helping me find the right dress for a wedding. I could tell that she loves making her customers feel welcome in her special place. And when I finally decided on "the one" (and just like chocolates, it was REALLY hard to take just one), she surprised me again by letting me know that she can have her seamstress make the alterations right there; and that I could come back the same day! I'm so glad that my husband and I took that stroll in South Pasadena. Glad too that he had the patience to let me browse until I found THE DRESS and to meet the lovely Eva! And just like a box of my favorite chocolates, I know that I will keep coming back for more.

Eva went way out of her way to help me with a last-minute dress I needed for an event. She brought…read moreme a load of options to try, each piece was unique and beautifully made. I had called, stressed and desperate when the store wasn't even open. She answered, talked me through the options, and treated me like family. The best. Prices are great an on par with what you'd expect to pay at a big store that has less style and no personal touch.

A Slice of Shopping Heaven in San Marino…read more Serafina is less of a boutique and more of a retail paradise where the fashion angels sing and the decor whispers, "Go on, treat yourself." Nestled in the heart of San Marino, just a stone's throw from Pasadena, it's the kind of place that makes you feel like royalty--no tiara required. Upon entering, it's clear this is no ordinary clothing emporium. The mix of designers is so carefully curated, I half expected to find a gallery label next to the Nili Lotan display. And with threads by Sea NY and Helmut Lang hanging around, you're not just shopping; you're adding to your art collection. The handbags? They've got more personality than a reality TV star. Shoes that make Cinderella's glass slipper look like a flip-flop. Fine jewelry that has you sparkling brighter than the twinkle in your eye. And let's not forget the gift items--because who doesn't love presents? But wait, there's more! A children's boutique so adorable, even your little ones will want to extend playtime to dress-up time. With names like Splendid and Ella Moss, your kids are walking out of there runway-ready for the sandbox catwalk. Sipping on Pellegrino while the staff, who are more like your personal fashion consultants, cater to your every need? Check. Enjoying a cappuccino as you peruse luxury labels? Double check. Feeling as comfortable as if you were lounging in your own living room? Well, if your living room was a casually chic sanctuary of style, then yes--triple check! If Serafina were a song, it'd be a symphony of style, luxury, and comfort. So next time you're in San Marino and need a dose of retail therapy, float on into Serafina and float out like the fashion deity you truly are.

I recently moved to the area from Brentwood and was excited…read moreto see a cute shop with a nicely curated selection of some of my favorite brands like Xirena and Saloni, they also have a nice selection of home items like candles and hostess gifts. I hate giving 2 stars, but in this instance my two stars go for the low level of customer service. No one greets you when you walk in (I've been a few times), no one asks to hold your items at the counter when they see you holding an armful of items, when I ask for a size they say that's all they have and can't be bothered to say they can order it for you or provide alternatives. This store seems to cater to the white and 60+ set (that's all there was at the store both times I've visited) and if you don't fit that demographic, they don't care you'll be dropping $5-600. I wanted to support a local business but I rather make the drive back to the country mart than give my money to a shop that does not value all of their shoppers. Perhaps I expect too much out of my shopping experience, but now more than ever (pandemic) I want my limited entries to shops to be memorable. I don't want to think "oh, I had a shitty time when I bought this $400 dress".
