I order the chili with cheese and it had good flavor, sweet with mild heat. A Buffalo Chicken Melt Breaded chicken, buffalo sauce, cheddar cheese and bleu cheese dressing with fries. With the pressed bread and breaded chicken, it was a little dry. The buffalo sauce was very good. My wife ask to have the Crispy Chicken Salad Sandwich with Chopped crispy chicken, onions, celery & mayonnaise made into a wrap. She thought it was a great tasting meal

Looking at all the 4 & 5 Star Reviews, I am assuming the Drinks they serve might be good, coz I just cannot imagine how the Food can be good based on my experience. My order consisted of Pub classics - Fish & Chips and Tater Tots, and it was definitely not what I expected. Let's start with the Fish & Chips. Just take a look at the photo - it was more like Fish Fingers with barely any flavor. Flavor is actually too big an expectation for food that lacked something as basic as salt. It was also both crispy and soggy at the same time. With every bite, water (??) dripped down and created a huge mess. Chips were decent. As to their Tater Kegs, it somehow felt like a scam. Description said, Bacon and Cheese stuffed Tater Tots, but it was nothing but lumpy mashed potatoes. Needed a search party to find the really tiny Bacon bits, and the cheese was non-existent. Complete disappointment.

    French Onion Soup

We wanted a family-friendly place to celebrate a grandmother birthday at 5 PM. MacMurphy's was perfect. I thought my French onion soup was very good. We shared the loaded nachos--good! Kids had grilled cheeses and fries. Others had chicken and steak and salads. All food very basic, but we thought it all hit the spot. The bonus: patio seating with great live music that we all could dance to. Kids had so much fun and asked the young and pretty woman singer/keyboarder if she could do a song from Frozen...and she did. She was talented and so nice and made our "party" a party. Good service and drinks came out fast! We had a blast and perfect casual family birthday (we did the cake after back at house). Thanks MacMurphy's for a great time!

Cool dive bar with outdoor seating. The food hit the spot and the menu has some unique meals. Nothing spectacular about this as it serves as a good hang out spot for a drink. Bar area has TV's for those sporting events and the staff here are super friendly. Came here with a group and we split the bill. I was surprised they had added the tip automatically to each bill even though it was separate.

Although the burger looked good as well as the blt as well as the crispy chicken, was disappointed in the Shepherds Pie for Irish Faire. Band. Food. Fair faire. Nachos were good. Service EXCELLENCE.

We simply came for some drinks and live music. MacMurphy has the perfect outdoor patio for a nice warm summer night. We heard a young Irish man sing (classics), they had corn holes and about 20 tables outside. We cant wait to come back to try the food.

    $2.50 for ice?

Not the best service but it's what you expect. Thing that made me wanna leave a review is that they charge $2.50 to put ice in your drink!

The loaded tots were delicious, staff was very nice, drinks were good and fairly priced. Parking was convenient, decent covered outside area with games, inside even have some classic video games. I would go back again

I really dislike this place and it smells like a sewer. The beers just seem very watery and this place scares me.

A cozy, very popular Ridgewood spot with good food--but come prepared for tight seating and a…read morelively atmosphere. We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

We each started our dinner with a bowl of homemade soup, my wife had clam chowder, and I had the soup of the day which was beef barley. My wife ordered Shepherd's Pie. It's a huge portion loaded with ground beef, vegetables, topped with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese and baked to a golden brown. She thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I ordered the Prime Rib Special. It was beautifully cooked to a medium rare perfection; it was super tender and melted in my mouth. I got mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. It also came with a container of Au jus. We did not have any room to attempt to try any dessert, but we will definitely save room on our next visit. As always, the blue cheese dipping sauce is the backbone to this appetizer. Bavarian Pretzel: In lieu of being shaped into a knot, the bavarian pretzel looks like a hot dog. I may not agree with the appearance, but I 100% agree with the taste. The pretzels are war and crispy on the outside while soft and doughy on the inside. And don't be shy with those helpings of pretzel salt! Steak and Arugula Sandwich: This tender, superb sandwich was cooked medium rare and served with sauteed onions & mushrooms on ciabatta bread. Classic BLT: Served on Texas toast, this sandwich has an addition of mayonnaise and avocado to supplement the three primary ingredients. Crab Cake Sandwich: For an Irish pub, this was an excellent seafood sandwich. The crab cake was breaded with panko crumbs and had a variety of toppings. The chipotle aioli sauce was the backbone to this boneless meal. As a bonus, this pub hosts special events throughout the week from Trivia Night to live bands.
