I am an amateur cycling enthusiast, not a pro, and a not a mechanic, but I want to feel like I know what is going on with my bike. I brought my triathlon bike to the shop last week and cannot say enough positive things about the mechanics there. Rob was knowledgeable, kind, and explained everything he was going to do on my bike (including tune-up, new tire, new tubes, new chain, new cassette, etc). He also assured me that he is experienced with triathlon bikes from having worked at triathlon shops previously. When I picked up my bike today, it looks like brand new. I can't wait to ride it again now that it has been fixed! Thanks so much to the staff, I can't wait to recommend you to everyone I know!

In this day and age of big box stores and online shopping…read moreI increasingly value and seek out brick and mortar stores that specialize in a specific product and as far as bicycle stores go, Edgebrook Cycle very much scratches that itch. Whether you're looking for a new bike, or getting a tune up on an old bike, or just seeking out an accessory, you will find exactly what you're looking for here. This is the type of place that is both organized and seemingly has everything you're looking for, it kinda feels like a bicycle shop from a movie (and it smells like brand new bicycle tires ). But most of all, after buying a new bike, getting a tune up on an old bike, and purchasing a few locks, I received a hand written thank you card with a sticker! That is the kind of gesture that buys permanent loyalty from this customer. My only quibble is that they should get stickers of their business logo since it's pretty dope looking.

I was at Park Ridge for a couple of hours, debating between a very basic bike (really, the cheapest, least frilly of them all) and two sizes of Trek. David did countless adjustments on each between test rides, ensuring that the handles and seat fit perfectly, tweaking as we went, and willing to try things (like an XS frame) that weren't standard. He was most interested in me making the right choice on a significant purchase. In the end, I went with the basic, cheapest bike because it made me smile, and even David commented on it when I came in the final time. "I can tell this is the bike for you because of that reaction." I got the service warranty, David did one more set of adjustments to get the bike ready to go out the door, and even put it in my car for me. Also, I was interested in fenders, but he arranged with the Oak Park store to get them ordered and installed (later) because it's closer to me than his store. During all this, a series of "regulars" came in with their bikes, all of them in Serious Biker clothes, but we all got the same level of attention and service, which I appreciated. If Oak Park's store wasn't also so great, I'd willingly make the drive way up north. Can't recommend enough. The store's big, the bathrooms are clean, and there's plenty of space to try out your future new bike!

My husband and son dropped off my Biria bike with a flat rear tire, and it was ready in no time. When I went to pick it up, Chris took the time to show me how to safely get on and off the bike and adjusted the seat height for me. Since I was there alone, he even helped carry and load the bike into my vehicle. That kind of personal service is hard to find. The whole crew was friendly and helpful, and they have lots of beautiful bikes in stock. If you need anything bike-related, I highly recommend supporting this local business. I'm so glad I found them!

Dood has a right to be into his subject matter. Usually shops want you to feel comfortable and respected as somewhat of a priority, even if you aren't being directly pitched at the moment... it just was not a good vibe. All doods working there when I was in. Way heavy on the dood vibe. Captive audience syndrome. Sigh. Dood has to do what a dood does. I avoid places like this. Going to the bike collective in Rogers Park instead next time.

I'm a bit of a picky shopper, and I compared to other bike shops in Evanston, and Everyday Cycles has completely won me over. Some of the great things: * Knowledgeable staff helps you choose the right things for your needs, whether fitting you to a bike or looking for an accessory. * Not pushy or overly sales-y. * The shop is small, so there is not a lot of product on hand, but you can tell that the products they carry have been vetted... It seems like someone working there has done research on the products and hand-picked the best products out there, so there may be only a few items to choose from, but they are the ones you would want anyway. They can also order items, of course. * Customer service went above and beyond expectations to address a minor manufacturer issue. * Convenient location Story time: The bicycle I chose to purchase (after a great experience trying out different bikes with different frame sizes) had a manufacturing defect on the rim. They swapped the rim with the same kind from another bike, which to me would have resolved the issue, because this other rim was satisfactory and would have completely evened out after breaking it in. (The original, defective rim was sent back to the manufacturer.) However, they went above and beyond and decided that they wanted to put a different, better model of rims on this type of bike, so they essentially upgraded my rims, which exceeded my expectations! I love the bike, love the shopping experience, advice, and expertise. I look forward to giving them more of my business.

Knowing that I wanted some fresh air and a change of exercise modality, my husband surprised me with a bike. And, of course, when you buy a bike you need a helmet! The helmet needed to be sent to the Northbrook store from another location, which only took a couple of days. Pick up was a breeze - staff were friendly and the entire process took just a few minutes. This is where my husband has ordered some accessories and parts for his bike over the last year.
