We even found out the best bike rack to buy that is geared to if your bike has a fender or not. It costs a bit more but it is also lighter weight and has rollers so more mobile. Instead, when I came back, they told me they repaired a crank that they claimed was "bent and unrepairable" -- something I never asked them to diagnose or fix. You shouldn't perform extra work and charge a customer for it without approval, especially when it wasn't the reason the bike was brought in. When I came back to address this, Dusty (one of the mechanics) was very reasonable and genuinely helpful. He understood the situation, and worked with me to reduce the bill from $140 to $40, which I appreciated. Honestly, if the bike actually needed that repair, I can live with the charge. The real issue was the attitude and handling of the situation by the owner. I waited about 20 minutes for the owner to come speak with me, even though I had to be at work and had to ask Dusty to grab him again. When he finally came out, he was dismissive and rude, repeatedly fixating on the $40 price instead of addressing the real problem -- that the wrong repair was done in the first place. Even after calmly explaining that I wasn't blaming him and simply wanted some accountability, he kept responding with, "I wouldn't have done this for $40," completely missing the point. When I politely asked if there was anything he could do to make it right after a month of inconvenience, he flatly said no. This could have been handled professionally and respectfully, but instead it turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable interaction. Big credit to Dusty for being understanding and helpful -- unfortunately, the owner seriously dropped the ball here. I won't be returning, and I'd recommend being very clear and cautious about approving any work before leaving your bike here.

I had a full tri bike clean and re-build (over $500), and the crank bolt loosens with every ride and my brake quick release won't close. They didn't tighten my saddle bolt and it shifted me off my bike mid-ride. My husband has taken flats here 4 TIMES in 2 months, and they keep busting due to improper tube installation. Took it to Trek and it hasn't given him a problem in a year. We would recommend you look elsewhere for repairs. I can't speak to their bike sales.

I paid over $400 so they could replace like three different things and it somehow made the problem worse. Took it to my cousin (bike enthusiast, and by no means a professional) and he said the problem was super obvious, tightened some screws and fixed it in five minutes. I no longer trust the pony shop for anything bigger than a tune-up. They're also pretty good at inflating tires.

He provided details on the process and cost. We set a time for him to come to the house. He showed up as expected and got to work. We chatted for a bit and he took the bikes into his truck. About an hour and a half later the bikes came out looking brand new. It had been a while so Joe fixed several issues during the tune-up. I'd highly recommend On The Fly Mobile Bicycle Repair. Seems owner already had an appointment nearby, so added us behind that one. Next day I got a text from my son saying how much he enjoyed the experience and meeting the owner. Full service with 2 tires changes was about 45min.. Price was per their advertised pricing. To me, this service was worth it based on the convenience and time savings. Some of the great things: * Knowledgeable staff helps you choose the right things for your needs, whether fitting you to a bike or looking for an accessory. * Not pushy or overly sales-y. * The shop is small, so there is not a lot of product on hand, but you can tell that the products they carry have been vetted... It seems like someone working there has done research on the products and hand-picked the best products out there, so there may be only a few items to choose from, but they are the ones you would want anyway. They can also order items, of course. * Customer service went above and beyond expectations to address a minor manufacturer issue. * Convenient location Story time: The bicycle I chose to purchase (after a great experience trying out different bikes with different frame sizes) had a manufacturing defect on the rim. They swapped the rim with the same kind from another bike, which to me would have resolved the issue, because this other rim was satisfactory and would have completely evened out after breaking it in. (The original, defective rim was sent back to the manufacturer.)
