This is actually the first time that I went to a non-Apple store to fix my Mac problem, and I am so glad that I found MacFixed! My son's MacBook wouldn't turn on any more and we suspect it is a battery issue but the Apple store charges a flat $575 fee since the Mac can not be turned on so they can not diagnose the problem! Bully! Made an appointment on the MacFixed website and got a call from them for confirmation. I needed a new screen for my MacBook Pro 15" Retina (late 2013 model), and I was quoted by 3 different shops including Apple Store to get it done from $700-$1000. All 3 places said it would take about a week to get the screen replace. My brother and I took my MacBook Pro to Alex, he had the screen in stock and replaced it right in front of us in less than 10 min!!! 9 min and 36 seconds to be exact! AMAZING!!! I had an old Macbook Pro with Leopard OS X10.4 version. I needed to get it updated to the latest version Lion. Price was great! And the service is super fast! I cracked the screen on my MacBook and my boyfriend happened to spill water on his MacBook around the same time and got a new laptop. So he gave me his old one to see if I could save myself some $ by getting the screens switched. I brought it to Alex and he did it within two hours. We even had a miscommunication and he thought I had a different model so he had quoted me a cheaper price than it should have been. But he still honored that price, which I thought was very classy. Unfortunately, the two laptops weren't quite identical and the next day, the screen was super dim because the logicboard shorted out. I called Alex and dropped if off later that day. Since that logicboard shorted out, he repaired my boyfriend's laptop. I didn't even think that would be possible since water was spilled on it! My 2011 MacBook Air won't boot. I was going to send it to Apple for recycle but decided to see if it can be fixed first. Alex got it fixed in a day and reloaded the OS. The first time I upgrade my iMac's CPU from Core i5 to i7 which is incredible. Then, I paid the visit the second time to Alex - Mobile Mac Techs Apple Mac Repair Shop and upgrade iMac hard drive from fusion drive to SSD 1TB. Apple store doesn't offer any service like that and can't do anything about it. Now, my iMac runs very smooth. I appreciated Alex had done an excellent job for me. He is knowledgeable about iMac. I purchased a refurbish 27 inch iMac about a year and a half ago directly from Apple. It was my first forte into Apple operating system and I did not know what to expect. I was always a little disappointed to say the least. Always seemed kind of sluggish and slow to respond. I just thought that was how it was supposed to work. Best place to get your laptop fixed! My friend recommended to Alex when my 2018 brand new MacBook Pro was only turning on halfway and shutting off when it was opened fully. I contacted Apple because I had AppleCare with them only for them to tell me that my Warranty expired the day before and it was non repairable and that it was going to be $975 to replace the cable inside the LCD display if I attempted to go with the repair! I came to Alex and Renee and booked a last minute appointment and while the appointment conflicted with their schedule a bit because since they work out of their house , I got lost and was a little late to the appointment but they did not seem to mind which made me feel a bit special! When I took my 7 year old Mac Book pro to the Apple Store they basically told me that it was a dinosaur and there was nothing they could go to help me. Amazing! My daughter's Mac Book Pro got a big cup of water dumped on it. The Apple store said it was dead but they could "try" to fix it for $800.. She took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy to see if they could at least retrieve some data from her hard drive - they said the hard drive was fried and all data was lost. As a last resort she called Alex @ Mobile Mac Tech based on positive YELP reviews hoping he could help with data recovery. We had resigned ourselves to the fact that she would need a whole new laptop, but she was desperate to try and get some of her lost photos back. If you need to get something fixed go see Alex! I dropped my MacBook Pro and the screen turned black and wouldn't show but the computer would still turn on. I took it to Apple because I had apple care and they told me it had water damage and it was going to be $755 plus tax to repair it!! I was shocked because I never dropped any liquid on it. I denied the Apple repair and decided to go to Alex to see if he could get it fixed. His assistant helped me fill out a form and took the laptop. Alex called me about half an hour later and told me what was wrong with it. He said he just had to clean it and some other stuff and it would be back to running again like normal. He also fixed everything within an hour which was awesome. He cleaned my screen and keyboard and also showed me that everything was fine with the laptop. The only thing he charged me for was labor which was less than a $100 since it was about an hour. So reasonable! I suggest setting an appointment it makes things a lot easier for you. Alex was incredibly helpful- my Macbook had an issue with the audio that the technicians at Apple had no idea how to resolve, and they had recommended an expensive replacement of the entire logic board! I saw all the excellent reviews for Alex' shop, brought my machine to him, and through some troubleshooting he was able to find and recommend the best solution for my problem. My laptop works perfectly again, and Alex was kind enough to resolve my issue within the day as I needed my laptop for finals! Short version : I bought a used part from Alex at Mobile Mac Techs trusting that a "mac technician" would be reliable. The part ended up being in questionable condition that was not specified beforehand. Expected more out of a supposed "mac technician." Long version : My macbook power adapter broke so I decided to search craigslist to try and find a replacement instead of having to spend $79 at the apple store to buy a new one. I found a listing that claimed the poster was selling off parts from his broken MacBook and was selling the adapter too. I contacted the seller and was happy to see that he was a "lead technician / proprieter" of Mobile Mac Techs. I felt that this should be an indication of a more reliable source. When I got there he reminded me that he fixes Macs for a living and is familiar with mac adapters failing. I plugged his adapter into my macbook to make sure it would work and sure enough it turned green when plugged in, turned orange to signal that it was charging. I noticed that the adapter wasn't an apple branded accessory, and he offered to sell it to me for $20 instead of $25. I took his word that the adapter was good since, again, he was a mac technician. After getting home, we plugged in the laptop for a good charge. After a while we noticed a high pitched noise coming from the part and then discovered that it was pretty hot to the touch. I became worried that this was a really sketch part and could potentially be a fire hazard. I emailed Alex asking if he had known of this problem before and his response was "this is an experience with all chargers." I've had plenty of laptop chargers before and while yes they can get warm I have never known them to be uncomfortably hot to hold and make a noise louder than the TV show I was watching. My recommendation is for future customers to be weary of Mobile Mac Techs. read more

I have been waiting to write this review. I wanted to make sure that my MacPro lap top continued to work after it was fixed. Several weeks ago, yes, like other reviews, they have spilled water on their MacPros. Well, I did the ultimate sin...I accidentally spilled a huge cup of coffee with cream on my MacPro. Yes, I had a cover and a cover on my keyboard too....but....it was so much coffee, that it went underneath the keys. Yes, I was quick enough to dry it off and turn off my laptop. But, it still did not save me from any damage. The two days after, I had to think of a plan....what do I do? Take it to Apple? There is no warranty. Take it somewhere else....either way, I needed to get it fixed. I called Mobile Mac Techs after lunch and Alex picked up the phone. The mobile office is in his garage. It was easy to find. Alex was friendly and told me that I probably can pick it up tomorrow. He texted and emailed me what he had to replace. He had to replace the keyboard, hard drive connector, and cleaned up all the coffee. He also showed me the parts that he replaced in the MacPro and handed it to me. Why would I want the parts that don't work? So, several weeks later...I'm glad to say that MacPro still works and works like how it was. read more
