I chose Alex to work on my 2012 MacBook pro because of his stellar Yelp reviews; I was not disappointed. His response time was quick, he was super friendly and clear, and the day of my appointment he was able to do the diagnostics and the work in a matter of hours. It ended up being a bit pricier than I expected, but only because I opted to double the RAM to speed up my machine and protect it's longevity. Alex did the diagnostics and basic clean-up (defrag, etc) that we agreed upon, and then sought approval before adding more memory. It was clear that I needed to increase my memory, but I appreciated that he made this an option rather than moving forward with it and then me being surprised by a higher price tag. At the end of the day I spent $250 and laptop is running faster and more efficiently than it has in a long time! Definitely worth the investment to extend the life of this computer. read more

I will start by saying i never owed an Apple laptop until the last few years. The unfortunate thing was that my daughter spilled coffee on the keyboard of my MacBook pro making it not functional. I purchased a 2009 13 inch MacBook Pro from a friend, and I noticed the battery was about to go kaput. I originally went to another Mac repair center in San Jose to purchase a replacement battery (they will remain nameless in this review). Let's just say I will never be going back there again! Long story short, they sold me a battery that would have my MacBook Pro shutdown randomly when the battery percentage was anywhere below 50%. A few months pass by, and I found Alex from Mobile mac Techs. I was a little hesitant to buy another battery since my MacBook was so old, maybe that was the reason why it shut down randomly. Alex was a very nice person upon meeting him. He opened up my MacBook Pro and right away noticed two discrepancies with the replacement battery from the other repair shop. 1) The battery still had the plastic film on top of it. 2) There was electrical tape covering the Apple trademark on the battery. Alex said that most likely the battery was a knock off that they were selling. Still being hesitant to buy another replacement, Alex reassured me that his batteries were genuine. He even swapped out the batteries and took screen shots of the stats using coconut battery. The battery he sold me had a manufacture date of 2012 with a 0 cycle count. He said if I still get random shut downs within the week to call him. Let's just say I am happy to report that my 2009 13 inch MacBook Pro is now working like new! There was no need to contact Alex again. I am now able to drain my battery to 5% and get the low battery warning. Awesome service and support from Alex at Mobile Mac Techs. This review is way overdue!! So before all the shenanigans during NYE weekend, we had to swiftly rally out to San Jose since the Macbook screen repair quote out in the East Bay was a little sketch and jippy, luckily i yelped Alex's business and these reviews were on point! Alex promptly accommodated us at 2:20 to repair the Macbook's screen. We initially thought that our laptop was a 2014. Guess what? To our surprise it was actually a 2015 model and i felt soo bad after he had to install the wrong screen since the 2014 model wouldn't work on the 2015 one. Upon finding out, he swiftly told us not to worry and he replaced the screen with the correct one (SORRYY!!) and he did this about 30 minutes or so while we waited in the car. Alex came out to install a new hard drive in my Powerbook, transfer all info. from old to new hard drive, and upgrade my OS. He was on time. He was so efficient and smooth at opening my computer and installing the new hard drive. I could see how if I had tried it on my own with directions I found it would have taken me half a day. He had that part done in about 10-15 minutes! It pays to know what you're doing and have had the experience. He also helped us configure a new wireless router we had gotten ages ago and hadn't yet set up. I had to replace a cracked screen and a bad lcd display on my macbook(late 2008 unibody). First I thought of doing it myself and ordered the parts from Amazon. When I actually got to work, I realized that the tools that I had was not sufficient to remove the glass screen and I ended up chipping and breaking it. It was on a Sunday and the only place that answered was Mobile Mac Techs and I got a reasonable estimate for just the labour since I already had the parts. Alex verified the parts and promised to complete the work and give me my macbook on Monday. I got a call Sunday late evening and he told me that it was fixed(which I didn't expect). His work was pretty impressive and he also promised a 1 year warranty on the labour since the parts were not from him. My Macbook air hard drive crashed, so I messaged Alex, and he responded within an hour. He replaced my hard drive (for cheaper than what the Apple Store was going to charge me) and got my computer up and running again. He even showed me how to set up my computer to back up data now. He sent my old hard drive off to a specialist company he is an authorized dealer with to try to recover the data (depending on the severity of damage, it may need to be worked on in a computer clean room). Have an older (212) MacBook Pro that has been my workhorse for the past 7 years. I love the unit because I love to do all my upgrades. After I installed newest OS (Lion) on my MAC the internet browser would not load web pages. It was not my Internet service's fault because other computers in my house worked just fine.
