We walked in around Saturday 3pm and it was sort of busy. They had live music outside so there were more people outside. We decided to do our tasting at the tasting counter. There's some people at the counter. But tasting room is spacious so you can stand and walk around. Tasting fee is $15 for 6 wines but we got an extra port. The sweet wines were better but not our taste since we like dry wines. They also have bocce ball area with swings. Looks like you can bring food or snacks.

Nice smaller winery. Went on a Sunday when it was less crowded but still enjoyed listening to live music and sitting inside the tasting room. Plenty of seating outside and there are heat lamps. Recommend the tastings. Very reasonable priced. Looking forward to returning after harvest/new wines are available.

Macchia Winery is still run the old fashioned way of great wines and all the employees are truly family. My wife and I have been wine club members for several years and we love the pick up parties.

One of our favorite wineries in Lodi. We love to buy/collect wines and they have one of the best wines so of course we became members....why not! Such a cute and intimate winery. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The "backyard" is where they have live music. There are tables all around. They have an area where you can have a small gathering/party and there is a nice fireplace and a bar so you or your guests don't have to go inside to get more wine....how convenient, right? Lol If you are in the area, make sure to stop by Macchia. Definitely a Lodi winery that you need to visit. Everyone we have spoken to who are wine lovers like us, love Macchia as well.

The service from the gates is awesome. You are welcome to bring your own food. The ambiance is pleasant with live music playing Saturday and Sunday. Nice little getaway. Thank you from a friendly supporter from Total Wine.

We had a wonderful time, Because we chose to dust off the bad vibes. And make it a memorable day with my sisters and friends. I probably will be going somewhere else, the next time I want to do wine tasting again. IMPROVE; I would say maybe a lesson in bedside manners for the 2 ladies behind the counter. Even my husband, a strictly red wine drinker, fell in love with their wines and atmosphere. We started with a portfolio flight of stills and sparklings, each one was its own unique, yummy, and delicious experience - not a single one disappointed, but our favorite was the Impartation. The color is light, but the flavor is bold and had my husband forgetting that he's "not a rosé guy." The wine experience alone would bring us back, but the icing on the cake is the people and the grounds. Sammy was amazing and instantly made us feel welcome and invited our dog to roam around and explore inside while Sammy poured wine and gave us some history on the winery and winemaker. Then as we thought our visit was wrapping up, Vivian (founder and winemaker) and Peter came in to visit with us, treating us like we were all long-time friends. At that point we grabbed a glass of wine and were taken on a tour of the grounds where we were invited to take a peek in the beautiful and cozy cottage they rent out for overnight stays. From there we walked down to the river and the deck overlooking the water, which is also available for reservations if you want to relax and enjoy the wine with nature and a couple friends. We have never felt so welcome at a winery, and we did not want to leave. The whole experience was lovely and luxurious. We will definitely be back!

The rose was also good the OMFG was the one I like the most. The smell was not to my liking for the rose but that's because I enjoy more of the sparkling. One rose was like a version of an old fashion. She described it perfectly! Would definitely come back to this place. Definitely recommend as a date or with your girlfriends.

Free Wine Tasting/Friendly Staff…read more What first drew me to Dancing Coyote was their name--sounding whimsical and Southwestern. When we drove up to their site, I wasn't really sure where it was located as the existing buildings looked like old industrial buildings, not your standard winery and tasting room. My partner and I guessed it had been a granary--it was built in 1868 right next to the raIlroad tracks, and was later converted into a winery in the early 1900s. Back then that initial winery became famous for their Port, and also made vinegar and brandy. We sat at the tables outside. I asked the server if anyone was living in the tall granary tower because we had noticed that the windows looked like they were fitted with stained glass. She answered with a chuckle, that only ghosts live there. Dancing Coyote has an interesting history. It is family run, and they have been farming the Delta region for five generations. They grow and harvest the grapes. They also do the crushing, aging and handcrafting the final product. The winemaker uses natural wild yeast that derives from the surfaces of the grapes to actually ferment the products on the flight that we tasted - they were really good and yummy on their own natural merits with a bright finish. Of course, I had to run around and experience this winery's own unique brand with my own eyes and camera in hand. There were several fig trees in which I found a perfectly ripe fig to eat. There was was this orange stuff "growing" on some of the outside walls that I had to touch, and then scratch my head because I couldn't figure out what it was. Near the fig trees, hidden from the eyes of most.of the two-leggeds that visit the winery, is a diagram painted on a rather large propane tank. Who painted it? Was it a human that "dances with coyotes"? I tried and tried to duplicate the dance that the artist painted on the tank. The trickster that painted that mural is probably laughing at the thought of people trying to follow the dance diagram. Their flights were FREE!!! There were four different wines included: 3 whites and 1 red. I usually prefer drinking red over white, however, there was something uncommon with their white wines--a certain kind of freshness/aliveness. I really liked how it felt in my mouth. After tasting those wines she brought three more wines for us to taste. We fell in love with their 2016 Loureiro - a Portuguese varietal. They had a special for $48 for a case, and we snatched it up in a heartbeat. We plan to return in our next visit to the Lodi wine making region to the same place, and see what other new vinicultural gifts that they have to offer us.

I had driven by many times and it seemed like an appointment only place but I guess now they have enough staffing to open up the hours and days of the week. First, their reputation has always been very good. They've had some recognition from some reputable wine sources so I had very high expectations for the wine. In, short, the wines were very good. They had a nice selection from rose to the more Lodi styled red wines. I really did enjoy all the wines and the price point seems fair. I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. When you get wine with a story it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. Pretty heavy competition but so far Lodi is more than able to compete with certain types of wines aka Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Syrah and occasionally Cabernet.
