I wish I had remembered to write a review my first time in years ago. Wine tastings used to be paired with cheese and Portuguese bread. At the time it was an intimate tasting room with a pretty entry area. (She said they do still sell the bread but only generally more around the holidays and that it disappears quick!) I'll have to keep checking in because I remember loving it. Now revisiting probably 8yrs later I'm seeing the beautiful space that either somehow went unnoticed or just wasn't part of the entry point my first time in. (During my time here I learned that the spaces mentioned didn't exist the last time I made my way here (2017/2018ish). The grounds here are beautiful and absolutely somewhere I could bring my work or a book and just relax with a glass of wine, simultaneously taking in the views. The $15 fee (which is incredibly reasonable for what you see nowadays!) included 6 Portuguese style wines to sample. The Vino Cor de Rosa was a bit on the sweeter side for my liking. The Verdelho had a citrus/fruit note that I enjoyed with a green apple like finish. The Touriga was one I'd keep stocked. It had the nice dark fruit feel that I very much enjoy in a red. The type you want to keep flowing with a pasta (or even a hearty meat craving if you ask me!) The Souzao I'm not quite sure how to explain. Continuing my "Basic B" level of descriptions, it has almost a cola or Dr. Pepper taste to it (in a good way despite how odd my choice of description may seem!) The Syrah to me reads like a lighter port, though u can't quite pinpoint what brings me to that conclusion. Lastly, the Trincadeira was a nice seemingly light red that I wouldn't mind on the balcony with my book. It amazes me that with the grounds they have, they don't host much in the way of winery events (though they do host many private events). I can appreciate that it isn't the direction they're looking to go... but perhaps some day! read more

Beautiful place. Empty for a Friday afternoon we were the only ones there. Although place looked nice lacked customer service big time dropped off our wine tasting glass and not once explained any of the wines. Horrible experience and the wine pours was crazy thought this was for one person but she stated this was for 3 ppl. $15 tasting so not worth it. Would never come back! The old lady serving us should never had served us apparently she was a fill in since an employee was sick. However they need to find people that actually enjoy people and wine. read more

There were only 2 tables with customers on a Sunday which was odd because Jessi was packed. Then I got the port flight and sat next to obnoxious people - two of which worked there. The port was gross tasted like pure alcohol. The women who worked there were speaking SO LOUD and inappropriate political conversation. If was offensive. What an unpleasant experience. I ended up complaining. Then I was getting sneered at by her. I told them I wasn't even drinking my flight. At the end they had the audacity to ask me to pay for it. I said I absolutely would not pay for something I didn't drink and I left. $25 for a flight with barely more than a sip. So overpriced and bad wine. Read other reviews about the bad wine, and terrible people. Wasn't just me. Unfortunate because the property is pretty. Never again. read more

UPDATE: April 2025! Everyone does have their own palette. The wines of St. Jorge are of unique and exquisite quality. The flavor profiles are generally something that you will not have experienced elsewhere. After my experience and drinking several of their varietals, my suggestion is to slow down, aerate these wines, sit back, let the flavors roll over your tongue, and enjoy the experience of new, beautiful flavors. Loved this place! Such a beautiful view to enjoy. We were here for a fundraiser which included a great 3 course meal and of course wine. A great deal of people showed up this particular Friday evening. It was nice to see the face that was behind the meal choice of the even. Polite and fries. Beautiful gardens, fountains and seating. While looking at some of their barrels I noticed the stamping on them as a product of France. Possibly where the Barr originated from. I do see myself visiting here again to experience a wine tasting very soon read more

Beautiful winery and amazing wines - I really like the Trincadeira - nice dry Portuguese wine. Love the way you get your tastings in a boat with bee-top corks. They have nice settings outside. Be sure to visit on a nice sunny day. There are a couple of fire pits outside too. read more

We stopped by this winery during the Wine & Chocolate Event, Feb. 13 & 14, 2016. I had been to this winery before, but not during a big event. It was pretty crowded, but their grounds are fairly big and the service was good. Their wines were good, although we didn't buy anything. My husband liked their Zin. I really liked the Portuguese bread samples that they were passing out! I would come here again but maybe during a time when there aren't any big events. read more

Came here Saturday with family wine tasting there was probably about 13 of us. This place is gorgeous such a pretty winery they pair the wines with food which is fabulous because a lot of places don't do that. Because we had a bigger party we were sat in a room with wine barrels tables and chairs which was wonderful. It really gave us that wine experience however the reason for the 4 stars and not the five is simply because I didn't know much about what I was drinking they gave me a menu the pairing and said follow in this order I would've liked to know a little more about the wines. But the wines were very good. If I come up this way tasting again I will defiantly stop by this gorgeous place again with fewer people. If you debating on trying this place i would say go for it the wines will not disappoint. read more

Parking at St Jorge is easy. We were greeted right away and taken to their pretty decent sized outdoor area to take a seat. We received a tasting of about 5 or 6 wines. All wines we're just ok. St Jorge Winery is a lovely classically styled winery in Lodi. Their opulent estate is located just north of downtown Lodi along Peltier Road between 5 and 99. This winery also has a Chargepoint EV charging station for public use. The winery focuses on Portuguese varietals with a good price point for most wine lovers. Entering the estate is like an Italian dream with lush gardens and a tasting room with a huge fireplace and stone bar. My generous tasting menu included a few food pairings including cheese and their Portuguese sweet bread - all of which are available for purchase. This is a great place to impress your friends and family. The wine may be a bit different for those use to more traditional varietals and styles, but the winery is so beautiful that everyone will probably love it. The tasting area is spacious, the atmosphere is casual and pleasant (dog and family friendly), and the wine itself is pretty decent, but unfortunately our recent experience wine tasting here was subpar. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside for wine tasting. The woman assisting us with our tasting was not particularly friendly, and seemed to want to do the bare minimum. She didn't tell us too much about the wines or how anything worked, she just told us to sit anywhere and asked how many tastings we wanted, then she kind of disappeared after delivering the wines to our table. A flight was $10 and you get to try six 1 ounce pours of various wines. Pretty standard. The woman brought out mini carafes filled with 2 tastings each that we poured for ourselves at the table, as well as some food items to pair it with on a little wooden tray (crackers, cheese, sweet bread, cookies, chocolate). And if you purchase a bottle of wine, the menu says your tasting fee is waved. The verdehlo and tempranillo were both really good, but I was not impressed by their other reds (syrah, cab sauv, zin, or souzão). Anyway, after purchasing a couple bottles of wine, when we go to close out we find that none of the tasting fees were waved. The woman said that the fees don't get waved when you buy wine if you get food. And my first thought was, no one gave us a choice about the food. She did not ask whether we wanted it or not. Nor did she inform us that that by taking the little snack tray, we did not get the fees waved. The only information we had to go by was what was printed on the tasting menu, and it specifically said that tasting fees were waved if you purchase a bottle. The whole situation was annoying - the lack of clear information and lack of friendly service. We couldn't be bothered to argue with anyone so we just left. And will probably not return. So if you come here and expect to purchase wine after your tasting, I would definitely opt out of the food tasting, because what you get on the tray is basically little slices of Hawaiian King rolls, store bought Milano cookies and biscotti, a handful of chocolate chips, a little wedge of cheese and a few crackers. Nothing worth $10 that's for sure. It would be a better value to have your tasting fee waved for the bottle of wine. read more

St. Jorge was our 3rd stop of the day and while I was very impressed with the fact that they pair their wines with small bites of food, I still was not inclined to purchase anything. I believe they produce more of a Portugal style of wine, which really isn't what I am into. But I do love trying new things, so I am glad we stopped here while in Lodi. The property itself is beautiful and the tasting room is adorned with paintings done by the owners daughter. I would recommend St. Jorge to anybody coming to Lodi as their wines are different from anything else you will taste all day. read more

This is a "Must See" winery in Lodi. They are relatively new on the scene and are still developing their products, but I heartily recommend their Tempranillo (this is the one they serve with Portuguese Sweet Bread (not to be confused with actual sweetbreads, which isn't sweet and isn't bread), and their Souzao. Coming soon, a Lodi Cab (yep, a CAB!) from vines off the banks of the Mokelumne river. This feature is ideal for growing Cabernet grapes. Cabs like those cooler nights. Look to see some great wines coming out of St. Jorge Winery. Wow your out of town guests with a visit to this winery. You won't be sorry. read more

This place is amazing! As a wedding photographer I fell in love with this place! It's so beautiful here that on a wedding day it took my breath away. And I really mean it because St Jorge Winery wedding is currently featured wedding on my website. Venue sits in beautiful quite settings. As soon as you walk in side there is going to be beautiful fountain. And on a wedding day there were so many flowers floating. Reception area backs up right into vineyards. Great winery with great wine! My friends and I just stumbled upon this winery after we had been to the winery across the street and were thoroughly let down. When we arrived, there were not many cars in the parking lot so we did not know if they were open. I ran inside to see if they were open. When I peeked in the tasting room, the three women behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming. The wines were great and even better they do pairing with certain wines!! One of the women also gave us recommendations of wineries to try after we left them. We went to one and we were not disappointed so I truly appreciated her for suggesting it. We just had our wedding at St Jorge. It turned out to be everything we ever dreamed of. Jenise was extremely helpful and welcoming from the start. We had a budget which she guided us towards it, but never felt she nickeled and dime us. Throughout the next few months of planning Jenise stayed in touch, responsive, and answered all our questions. You can tell she's done this many times. The staff during the day of we're all courteous and inviting to our guests. Everyone commented how great the wine tasted (we love their tempranillo wine which is what their known for) and how beautiful and picturesque the winery was. Most recommended winery in Lodi!!!! Its very very beautiful (outside and inside). Great place to take some pictures and do some wine tasting. It's a Portuguese winery and ALL the wines were absolutely amazing. I'm not a big red wine drinker and I loved all the wines we tried. They also explained each of the wines they brought out and what it would perfectly pair up with. Also, they brought us Portuguese sweet bread (which is really good and they have it for sale) and dark chocolate chips to try with 2 different wines, Which paired up great with the sweet bread and dark chocolate chips. Even the dessert wine they had us try (which is a sweeter wine) was soooooooooooo good. Last but not least, they had amazing service. They totally made us feel at home. When we came in on Saturday afternoon was a little busy. They asked us how many in our party and they took our party of 9 and opened the back room for us to sit and enjoy our wine tasting with our friends and family. No questions asked.
