First time I've thrown an event here with the kitchen open. I celebrated my 30th birthday here and to say everything was perfect is an understatement. The food was amazing from the salad to the pizza everything was very delicious. The wine was perfect as always! First time here with our familes in April was so lovely we decided to come back today, June 7. This time the experience was not so great. One of the workers walked past our table and flagged down another worker to let her know that we had outside food. The other worker came over to our table to tell us they don't allow outside food. We literally had fruit and veggies for our children. I was already turned off that one worker told another worker about our outside food... As if she couldn't tell us herself. I do want to note that we purchased a charcuterie board, two pizzas and two bottles of wine from them. Then about two hours later, a worker who normally works in the kitchen with short hair... Female... Came out and told my son that he needed to stop folding the chairs down. I've attached the photos so you could see what the chairs looked like at the table. My son put them all down. She comes out and begins to flip them all back up as they appear in the photo. So my son starts helping her and then she said "OK I'll let you finish the job." She literally made my son flip all the chairs back. There was no sign on this table, stating it was reserved... There was no sign on this table stating not to touch it... It was literally an open table for guest. These chairs were like this (see photo) when we arrived at 1:30pm and they were like this until 4 PM when we left. This alone left a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel like this place that used to be kid friendly is not so kid friendly anymore. I literally felt like she could have flipped the chairs back when we left, but the fact that she came and approached my seven-year-old son and told him he needed to flip them back left a horrible taste in my mouth. As we left, the owner drove by in a golf cart and said "it was so lovely seeing you guys again!." My husband mumbled under his breath... "If only your staff felt the same way." She was lovely, but sadly, her staff was not. read more

We almost didn't find this place, but I'm so glad we did. Initially went to another winery in the area, but they didn't have any food options available. Did a quick search on yelp and as always, it delivered. I found that when I drink wine, I need something to eat with it or I don't feel good. I guess I can blame middle age for that lol. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We got there on a Sunday afternoon about an hour before they closed. The tasting room is big and airy and they have a huge woodfired pizza oven. There was live music playing, and it was really quite good. It was just a little loud inside, but we got a flight of white wines and a gigantic charcuterie board. I thought the Italian inspired white wines were great, I especially enjoyed the Greco Bianco. It's dry but fruity with a nice round mouthfeel. The tasting room attendant that poured my wines was very nice, but she was low on knowledge of what the wines actually were. I've been drinking wine for a long time and I like to know a little bit about the grapes in blends. Fortunately, one of her coworkers was able to fill-in for her on the knowledge. The cheeseboard was piled high with different cheeses, if you cured meats, a bit of grapes and some really tasty candied nuts. And the marinated vegetable/olive blend was to die for. They also gave you a huge basket of crackers. I do think it was missing a little bit of a jam, maybe an apricot or a fig purée or a small slice of Membrillo. But I would still get it again. I'm excited to have found this business. It's only 30 minutes from Sacramento. They will be having live music Friday evenings and then on Saturdays and Sundays. A great weekend activity! Been coming here for years. Average wine but a lovely place to sit outside. As usual we brought snacks not realizing they had changed policies - that is not the issue however - no big deal to just let us know. But the AGGRESSIVE, HOSTILE and RUDE management made us feel like we were criminals trying to get away with a robbery. I will NEVER be back and am telling everyone I know who enjoys Lodi and Acampo wines about the horrible staff working at Durst. read more

My best friend and I like to get together once a month and try new wineries, with one small requirement ..... WE DESIRE BUBBLES / SPARKLING! Unfortunately not many in Lodi and Acampo do so, and if they do it's usually only just a Brut. We almost gave up hope, until we came across Durst Winery! The winery grounds has an area for private events / parties, seating for the general public both inside a warehouse and outside in the shade. We wound up getting the sparkling wine flight (Brut, Rose, and Demi Sec) an a charcuterie board (various deli meats & cheeses, grapes and nuts). As we were enjoying our charcuterie board and sparkling, we were joined at our table by the wineries dogs. They wanted to check in on us and more importantly do a quality taste test of some of our charcuterie items, ha ha ha. The only thing I would suggest is offer to pour the sparkling as you go and not all at once, because by the time I got to my Demi Sec, it was warm. We loved the sparkling though overall and will be back to visit our four legged friends again. Yippee yo yippee yay! read more

We have loved this place for years, but they have got to get things figured out with the new ordering system. We came in recently on a Friday and had to stand in one line to order food and then get in another line for wine. The pouring staff had taken the ordering tablet from the food counter since theirs wasn't working and we stood waiting for about 10 minutes before it was retrieved to place our order. After that, we had to move over to the wine line and stood waiting there for another 15 minutes. It wasn't until we got to the counter that we were told we could have ordered wine slushies on the food side. We wasted so much of our evening just standing in line. The pizza - pretty good, but the Margherita pizza left much to be desired, unfortunately. We had to ask for napkins for our food, which were not readily available at the counter and had to be found. We understand they are trying to expand their business, but with no longer having the option to bring in our own food, we hope they step up and get their service game back on track. read more

A beautiful winery with exceptional service!! My friends surprised me with a birthday party at this amazing winery and I'm so glad and happy that they did! We got a beautiful table under the patio (that saved us from the rain) and we were able to bring our own food and just relax!! You can order a glass, a bottle, or a flight to try! I tried the "a little of everything" flight which gave me a glass of white, sparking. Rose, and a glass of red. I was even given a complimentary champagne for my birthday. Everyone was so sweet and accomodating, even come with hugs! We were able to bring our own food and by the end of the day, I obviously wanted to become a member. This place is a little gem! We came to see our friend's band, The Retrofits. Didn't know our friend's retirement party was being held there too. It was perfect. They had three Charcuterie boards, our own private bar, and all the tables to sit at and enjoy the day. The bathrooms were right next door to us. They had a guy cooking food and it was fabulous! The main tasting room was having a paint and sip event. We ended up finding a shaded area on the grass to enjoy the music. What a perfect day! read more

Showed up here today at 4:10pm with a group of 4 and were told by the tasting counter lady that they do the last tasting at 4pm, even though they close at 5pm. She said they were only accepting people who want to purchase a full bottle. Needless to say we left. I guess it's not important to them to let people taste their wines in the last hour they're open? Definitely something wrong with this practice. No problem, we can easily move on to a winery accepting of new customers. read more

The grounds were beautiful but it was a hot summer day and the wine is brought out all at once so your last small carrafe's of wine are warm. Also, our friend who is a member asked if one of the bottles in his shipment be opened and they charged him to do this ($10). The staff also do not explain anything about their wines. You are left to read the laminated paper which to me is not very personal. If you are a red wine drinker I do recommend the Cab. or Leonardo. I recommend that this winery let the consumer choose the 3 wines instead of a strict flight and also not charge your wine club member to open one of their shipments. read more

As we pulled in the drive my wife said, "After our home, this is my happy place." That feeling quickly evaporated as we sat down with two bottles of wine with our son and his wife, daughter and our granddaughter when we were informed of the new outside food policy (as in none allowed). The tone, body language and words were brusque at best, borderline snotty at worst. We were told "It's been on the website for several months". But why would we look at that if we go frequently and thought we knew the ropes? There was no apologetic tone, just enforcement. Sad to see the winery moving away from a family friendly/community setting to some other goal. Noticed several others do a u-turn as they learned of the new policy. Some suggestions: put a sign up at entrance, do some customer service training and maybe offer a 25% off coupon for the first time or something to ease the change. Full disclosure, we did sneak our two-year-old granddaughter some grapes. A very sad visit and most likely our last. Was a great place to bring family, friends and guests. read more

Beautiful outside grounds, plenty of tables and seating and we were greeted by Tucker - the winery mascot (Dog - not sure if he is the mascot but cool friendly dog). The staff was very friendly, met the owners they were nice and welcoming. We only tried one wine (Bought a bottle to share - picture included) and left with 2 more as we left. We first discovered Durst over a year ago from a recommendation of another winery, so we decided to give it a shot. From the moment we came in the staff were very attentive and friendly, the tasting room was nice and cozy but the patio is even better. So many seating areas and beautiful gardens enhance your tasting experience. When we came in I noticed they had a few sparkling wine options as well as a sparkling rosé. I had the sparkling flight and my friend had the reds, and they were all magnificent. The pours were almost a glass full each, so it's totally worth the fee. The one star rating has nothing to do with the wine or service. In fact we had been told they make very nice wines and we're looking forward to the experience. The reason has to do with two things...1) as we sat down, the attendant told us we could choose from several flights such as a sparkling, all red, all white, etc. We would get three 3-oz pours of the flight, which is very unusual. Most wineries pour 5-1oz pours of a variety of their wines. And if you are in the industry like all of us were, many sometimes offer us another taste or two. So if you don't care for a wine or just sip and pour your experience is very limited. 2) we were a party of 8 and when we arrived and sat down we were surprised to see a 20% gratuity fee would automatically be added for parties of 8 or more. The attendant simply said this was becoming common in the area because these parties take more work. Note there were no other guests in the tasting room. Hmmm, maybe we should have split into two groups of four. Same amount of work. As a tasting room attendant in my area, I have never found parties like this to be too much work. So instead, we chose not to stay and went elsewhere. In two days of tasting at several wineries in the Lodi area, we never encountered these policies and were welcomed warmly where ever we went. read more

We always love coming to Durst. The new building and tasting area is soooo nice. We always feel welcome and all the workers make us feel like they remember us. Attended the Wine and Wag Fundraiser for the SPCA here last week and although we didn't stay long (because of the terrible heat) it was really nice to find a local place that welcomes animals. The grounds are lovely and we had a very nice time walking around enjoying the scenery. We were greeted by two gorgeous Labs and the family and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The tasting room was cool and well appointed and the prices were reasonable. I would totally recommend Durst for an event or tasting. read more

Wine and chocolate was in May this year due to COVID. It was also a very structured event with an abundance of time sitting and waiting between wineries. We were at Peltier and a googled *wineries near me* and Durst came up. I called and asked if they would be able to take us and they were very welcoming. The grounds are gorgeous! There's tons of options and seating arrangements. Large wooden tables. Outdoor patio couches, high tables, a large lawn, smaller bistro tables. They also have corn hole available. We were in a group of 4 and we ended up with two memberships after our second visit in June. We were out yesterday evening for our December wine club pick up and party. As with most winery events, we've learned to arrive early as it is difficult for the facility to guesstimate turn out. I get my tasting waved in Napa I don't purchase wine. Just seems ridiculous after paying $$$ for wine they don't wave. No mention of it either I asked if it's waved when purchases so buyer beware. The first thing you need to know about Durst Winery is that it feels a lot like family! We were welcomed by Tucker (one of the dogs) right when we pulled in. When we walked in we were greeted by both Stephanie's and by Mrs. Durst. They were so kind and warm and inviting. We didn't have a reservation, but they welcomed us anyways. We got to sit out on their beautiful patio and enjoy the scenery. This place has all the views!!! I'm pretty sure it was well in the 90's when we were there, but with all the trees, we were VERY comfortable (and I'm a winter girl). They do their tastings in 3, 3oz flights for $18. That's a little bit more than the other wineries, but the reality is you're getting triple the pour. So I felt it was more than worth it. I enjoyed this place so much. The facilities here are quite pleasant, but beware. Your tastings may not be representative of the bottles you purchase. I bought two bottles recently because I was impressed with their sparkling wines, but I wound up dumping both bottles down the drain. There's also a staff member that doesn't understand boundaries. He was described by the owner as "partial to the ladies" and "very good at neck rubs". The owner also mentioned that their wines are sold exclusively at the winery, with no retail outlets. I don't know why it took me so long to finally try Durst Winery. This beautiful winery is located in Acampo along Acampo Road of course, although you do need to drive pretty far away from the main roads with those great rural sharp turns. The large and open tasting room is at the end of the private drive with a nice gravel parking lot. The tasting room is large with a gorgeous decoration and lots of large glass doors opening out onto the large patio. Although the actual tasting bar is a little small, you can easily linger inside or outside while sampling the various wines on the tasting menu. On my trip, they were pouring a few whites and mostly reds. They had several blends which was refreshing for the area. The tasting fee is refundable with purchase. It is really hard to find fault with Durst. They have friendly and fun staff pouring great wine. The golden retriever is just too cute for words and loves meeting new people. I was impressed with the quality and selection of the wine and the classic modern upscale country feel of the winery. If you are willing to drive a bit out of your way, Durst will reward you with a nice experience. read more
