Rented the event space at Block 21 for a 30th birthday celebration, and it could not have been a better experience! If you're looking for a venue for a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, anniversary celebration, retirement party, family reunion, or just a large gathering with friends and family, I highly recommend checking out Block 21. From the very beginning, Evonne was incredibly easy to work with. Communication was quick, planning was stress-free, and they made the entire process seamless. We hosted a private after-hours bday wine tasting for our guests, which made the celebration feel extra special. The venue is beautiful and welcoming, with plenty of parking, comfortable indoor seating, outdoor seating, and fire pits that made for the perfect atmosphere on a beautiful summer evening. Our guests loved being able to spread out, relax, and enjoy themselves. The wines were a huge hit with our group. My family absolutely loved the Symphony (what I like to call a "beginner's wine" because it's so approachable and easy to enjoy). My personal favorite was the Zinfandel, with the Cabernet as a close second. The Red Blend and Syrah were also excellent. Honestly, all of their reds were fantastic. While I'm not typically a white wine drinker, I appreciated the variety they offer. One of the things I appreciated most was how easy everything was. Fast responses, great communication, beautiful venue, wonderful hosts, and a memorable experience for our guests. We will absolutely be back for future events and are already looking forward to trying their sparkling wines ( coming soon!). We spent the day wine tasting in Lodi while on vacation. It rained the entire time we were here, but it didn't stop us from enjoying our time here or the wine. :) First impressions were good. They offered a beautiful outdoor patio seating and indoor wasn't bad either. We grabbed a seat at the bar while we waited for our reservation at Oak Farm down the street. We were greeted by Hal and the owner of this newer family run winery. They were both super friendly and welcoming. Block 21 wasn't here the last time I was in Lodi for wine and we were so happy that we started here. I look forward to coming back in the future. Everyone was so hospitable and their wines left a lastly impression. For a four year old winery, I should have bought more bottles. We had two of their "Limited Production flights,". They waived their $15 tasting fee, with purchase of a bottle. We loved their cabernet franc and viognier. I enjoyed all of their wines of their limited production list even their Rosé and personally I'm not typically a Rosé drinker, but enjoyed this one. I loved hearing the story of how they make tempranillo here. I love this Spanish wine and anyone who claims to make a good one, I'll try it. Hal was our favorite. We could have hung out with him all day. Thank you for your hospitality! If I had any regrets about this Lodi trip it was not spending more time at Block 21, our driver arrived earlier than expected. This is an awesome winery. We've been members since they opened. The winery is family owned and operated. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The wines are great. They have variety of reds and whites to choose from some delicious blends. The area is quiet and peaceful. We dropped in Sunday for our 1pm reservation. $10 and $15 tasting fee. 1 bottle purchase to waive a tasting fee. Wines were fruity and bold just how we like our wines. Veronica poured at a good pace and asked if we wanted to revisit. Pours were kind of small due to the wine stoppers. Outside food and dog are allowed. They have both outdoor and indoor tasting. They sell snacks like popcorn and charcuterie plate. They also allow dogs. Sauv blanc- bold , fruity, like Marlborough sauv blanc. Viognier- a bit sweet. Symphony is semi sweet. Syrah and Zinfandel- fruity, bold, some tannins. Tempranillo - tannic Cab- fruity, earthy balance, smooth . Cab franc- earthy. read more

Went through a few Lodi wineries and fell in love with Block 21. Wonderful couple who own it and are on hand with big smiles. Whether you like red or white, every single wine they make is delicious. We joined that day and have been back several times. They often have live music in their gorgeous yard. Great to buy a bottle and just enjoy the view while you sip. First time here! And we were introduced to this winery by some new friends. Very pleased with the hospitality that was provided during this first visit. But we got the feeling that the hospitality was not only just a one time thing that it's all the time just based off the recommendation as well as, the amount of clientele that would walk through the door. One thing that really stood out to me was that even though people were walking in closer to closing time, they were not presented with a remark or lecture about them closing. They invited everyone that arrived and let them enjoy their time. They have a great selection of red and white and nice charcuterie trays. Beautiful family owned location. At least once a month there is a live band that performs here or should I say at least live music performance, reasonable pricing and tasting fees. We will be visiting here very soon. read more

Was very disappointed in our experience with Block 21. I planned a whole wine tasting experience in Lodi for my Dad's 70th birthday. We got a party bus and planned to go to three different wineries. Block 21 was supposed to be our last stop. I called and confirmed our time for 3:50 p.m. and party size of around 28 over two weeks before and was told they could definitely accommodate. They gave me a call the day before to give me a heads up about the weather since it would probably be raining. They let me know that it could get crowded if the outdoor was closed and that I should give them a call a little bit before we come to make sure there was enough space. I was a little confused since I thought our party/space was reserved but there wasn't much I could do besides hope for the best since it was the day before. We ended up running a little late and I gave them a call at 3:46 and said we were running a little late and should be heading over soon. I asked if that was ok or a problem and I was assured that it was no problem at all and just that their last pour was at 4:45. I said that's perfect and we'll see them soon. I'm not sure of the exact time we showed up but I think it was around 4:15 p.m. immediately we were met with a woman telling someone in our party that we could only get one pour or had to sit outside (I wasn't inside yet so I'm not exactly sure what was said). I immediately go inside and talk to a woman who tells us because of our party size, that we would be their last pour and that after that we would have to buy bottles. I was confused because I was clearly told on the phone that last pour was at 4:45 p.m. and she never mentioned that we would only get one pour and she knew my reservation size. The woman then tells us if we buy bottles we are welcome to stay until 5:30 p.m. so we would have time to finish. I told her that was fine and we bought 6 bottles. The whole time we were there we did not feel welcome. They pretty much ignored us and just looked at us like they wanted us to leave. I'm not sure if it's because we showed up late or our group size but they were fully aware of both of these details before we came in (and it actually ended up being only 23 people). We all really enjoyed our second stop (shout out to Peltier and their lovely customer service!!! Please check them out!) and would have much rather stayed there then to have been mislead! As we're enjoying our 6 bottles the woman comes up to us around 5:05 p.m. and tells us that they are closing up and we need to leave. I asked "I thought we were able to stay until 5:30?" And she just dryly responds, "Well they want to close." We hadn't even finished our bottles, but we got up and left. It really just felt like they got their sale and were done with us. Some people went to the bathroom and after on the way past just saw the staff sitting and drinking inside. Confirming our feelings that they just wanted the sale and didn't care after that. The whole experience felt extremely unwelcoming and misleading. I wish they would've just told me the truth on the phone because we would've just stayed at Peltier or even from the beginning gone with another winery that could properly accommodate our size but instead they so sounded friendly, inviting, and accommodating on the phone and completely switched up when we arrived. Unfortunately, it was our last stop and just left a sour taste to my dad's celebration. read more

We went to this sweet winery to celebrate my sister's birthday. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The wine was excellent, two of my sisters joined the wine club. We sat outside to do the tasting, it was very hot that day, but they had some seating with umbrellas. The servers were very nice and knowledgeable about their wines. Hubby and I decided to just drive and stop at wineries that caught our eyes. So glad we found this gem. They've only been open for 3 months. Everyone was very nice. The wine was excellent. The tasting room was absolutely beautiful. I loved that they support small businesses and allow them to sell their merchandise. Local art, wine tumblers, and lots of other stuff. There is plenty of outdoor seating with corn hole, and fire pit. Symphony was my fav!! The owner did tell us they will have some more Reds this harvest.
