    UPDATE: It is not based on your bank accounts. Two of the finance companies DID NOT ask for my bank account. When I was not approved the finance companies sent me letters stating that this is based on your credit score and history. Also I would now doubly beware because THE OWNER just put my business for the world to see. I never shared if I was approved or not. He also lied as well. Another reason to BEWARE! Please see pic below, PROOF okay, so it is a lie that they don't check credit. They use 3 third parties to give finance plans. ALL of the finance options are based on your credit report. They DO ASK FOR YOUR SS NUMBER! You will have to pay off the items in three months. They have a 12-month option but the interest rates are ridiculous. It is not a scam but there is a lot of misleading information and for that beware.

    I've made 4 purchases from Sam and Ron over the past 2 years and every experience has been amazing. They're so quick and easy to talk to. Today I picked up my first zoom lens, the Sony 16mm-35mm F2.8GM. I've had my eye one it for years and I'm so glad I can finally walk out of the store with it thanks to Mac Star.     Normally I would rate a place like MacStar with 5 stars, and I was ready to do just that because several associates had already sung their praises, and they've always steered me right in the past. It's true, you walk in and you immediately know that they are professional and highly skilled. Talk to them and that hunch is confirmed in short order. The reason I can only give them three stars right now however has nothing to do with their skills or quality of service. It has to do with the fact that, as a COVID survivor who very nearly DIED three months ago, it was immediately obvious that the sincere COVID blurb at the top of their page is 100 percent baloney. NOBODY IN THE SHOP WAS WEARING ANY FACE COVERING WHATSOEVER, and the ten minutes I spent in that tiny shop was nothing short of terrifying, because when I wear a mask and the other people do not, transmission rates are close to 70% as opposed to about 2 percent if everyone is wearing a mask. In fact, I was putting my mask ON when one of them said, "Oh don't worry, you're fine" (fine as in: don't worry about masks) And as I left, I asked one of them if they simply didn't believe COVID was real. Answer: Nope, they don't believe it's real. Unlike some people, I am not sitting here thinking, "Good, I hope you all catch it and wind up in ICU to teach you a lesson." I try not to be a jerk...sometimes I wind up being one anyway, like when I am a little bit terrified for my health and safety. But I tried to keep the screaming in my mind (Are you people INSANE?) from issuing out of my piehole and I just left as quickly as I could instead. Maybe someday when this pandemic winds down and we have antivirals and vaccines, I will once again be able to give them some business. I truly believe my friend's assertion that this is one of the best computer shops in town. But apparently they are geniuses about computers.... biology and medicine, not so much. And I cannot afford to take that risk.

    I contacted this place because they are close to where I live & it would save me a trip to go to SA...Stay Away from this Place...they over charge there customers & try to get EVERY dollar they can out of you. Contacted about a Canon EOS R & they want to charge 2200$ when the camera is 1400$ everywhere else. Doesn't come with anything extra like a lens either, just the body only. Ridiculous! Save your money & go elsewhere!!

I recently struggled with replacing the proprietary ball joint on my Elgato Key Light because it wouldn't accept a standard 1/4" thread or conventional ball joint. Frank immediately showed me how to remove the original ball joint and replace it with a standard one, giving me the flexibility to mount the Key Light on a post. What took me hours of searching and frustration, Frank solved in just a few seconds. On top of that, he recommended a Ulanzi quick-release ball joint that works perfectly with my setup. Thank you so much, Frank. I'm still enjoying the SONY ZV-E10 I purchased from you. If I could, I would give Frank 10 stars!

    Man.... Talk about a horrific experience. I don't like to write bad reviews but this one is…read morenecessary. I came here twice to buy a camera and both times I was "helped" by terrible people. First time I came to Sammy's I told the salesperson I was new to photography and apologized for asking so many questions He looked very bothered by me. Small Latino guy. I was looking at a camera excited to buy it and asked him another question about the shutter button. He then responds and I quote "I'll be happy to answer that after you buy it." I was in complete shock. I said what did you say? I stared at him very seriously. He then smirks and says nothing it was a bad joke. I reply a very bad joke. And I let it go. I could tell this guy did not care about his job or customers. Unfortunately I still bought the camera. Second time was 10 times worse!!!!! Thanks to Michael. I came to return the camera I bought with everything in the box. Michael tells me that I am missing a black lens cap. I tell him are you sure? Because I'm sure everything is in there. He then responds I'm sure. I told him do you mind opening another box so we can both be sure I am missing a "black lens cap." He then brings me another model of the camera I have and says "see. You are missing this". I tell him that is not the same model, do you mind opening the same model. He then tells me "this is standard sir." And refuses to get the same model of camera to check if I am missing the lens cap. So I left. I walked out of there confused. I swore everything was in there. I drove back home and looked for about an hour and a half and could not find this missing "lens cap". I decided to go on YouTube to look up the unboxing of my camera. Turns out it never came with another black lens cap. Michael was wrong. He made me waste hours of my day off by driving back and forth looking for a "missing" lens cap that did not exist. All because he was too arrogant to open the same model box I asked him to do and check before giving me false information. Michael was cocky and arrogant and never apologized to me. The one star Is for the manager Barry who did apologize to me and was professional at all times. I hope this review helps future customers and management.

    I brought my laptop in for repair (power failure) and was initially told by the technician that it…read moreshould be fixed within a week. Since it was during a holiday, I didn't want to bother them too much, but I didn't receive any updates for nearly three weeks. When I finally called to check the status, the owner told me they couldn't repair it. While I understand that not every repair is possible, I would have preferred to be informed sooner so I could retrieve my laptop. Later that same day, the owner called back and said they might be able to source a donor laptop to swap parts and asked for an additional two weeks. I agreed to give them more time. However, after the promised 2 weeks, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again. The owner didn't have an update and asked me to call back the next day. When I did, the owner became upset, claiming he had told me to call back at noon, which he ABSOLUTELY had not. Why does it take a day just to check the status anyways? BTW I called at 11:50 am! Are you F ing kidding me you are upset for 10 minutues (which I was not even aware of) after a month of no response? His reaction was VERY unprofessional. He then calls me for the first time at 12:00 pm to tell me they still couldn't fix the laptop. I picked up my laptop and took it to an old friend who used to do repair work. Even though he's semi-retired and farther away, he diagnosed the issue correctly and had the laptop running again within three days. This may have been an isolated experience, but I highly recommend you avoid this place. I won't be returning!
