2/20/19: I purchased a used laptop from here only to have it start exhibiting issues with the screen a few weeks after owning it. I took it back to them to have them look at it since it was still under warranty by them (Mac Star Computers, not Apple). Later that day I got a call from Rami (sp?) stating that the issue was caused by damage. Damage? Damage by what or whom? Damage they claimed was caused by me which I did not do and certainly there was no physical damage present on it but somehow I must have magically caused it. Bear in mind this is a USED laptop, so this was most likely caused by the previous owner or perhaps damage caused while in the stores possession and the problem arose while in my possession. So what good is a warranty if it won't be honored? Not even worth the breath it takes to say it. So what does that mean boys and girls? You guessed it. No warranty services for me. Well, how convenient for them and not so much for me. So the take away is this, if you want to buy a new or used laptop, look elsewhere because the chances of these guys honoring a warranty is going to be non-existent. Stick to Craigslist, FB Market, Offerup, or better yet Amazon, because at least you can still return something to them on Prime items and get an exchange or a replacement without the hassle. I for one will never do business with them ever again. I have filed a complaint against them on the Better Business Bureau's website and will be in touch with my lawyer. (I'm sure they'll reply to this with their idiotic logic but if in doubt, refer to above.) UPDATE: As suspected they posted to their defense of why they suck. These are the lengths they will go to not to have to honor their worthless warranty. My pursuit will continue undeterred until they pay for the repairs. The laptop had small scratches on it at time of purchase and no new ones exist on it now. This was confirmed by Rami that he did not see anything that would have caused these issues. And don't take Sam's words to heart. Amazon would not void the warranty. If you got it from them and it exhibited any kind of defect you would be able to return it for a replacement or a refund. How do I know this? Because I have done it in the past. I should have known better. And if they really wanted to give me the benefit of the doubt they would have just fixed it. UPDATE 2/22/18: So I called up Mac Star to see if they shipped out my laptop since I had to ship it to them since I am not local and they said they sent an email with tracking numbers. Found it in my spam but wait, this was sent to me today, not on the 20th, not on the 21st, but on the 22nd, two days later. Seriously?!?! When I asked them why they said they were working with apple to see if they could get the cost down on the screen to replace and if they were then they would just replace it for me. Wait, like down as in free? I don't get it. Regardless they weren't able to reduce the cost apparently because I'm still getting a broken laptop. All the while, why wasn't I informed of this? These guys are something else... If this doesn't convince people to stay away from them then nothing will. read more

These guys are truly life and money savers. My MacBook Pro is an older one and it had slowed down to the point I was unable to do any productive work. I currently use that laptop for both personal use and business, so it has not been a fun experience using it lately. I had two options, either go to Apple Store and spend hundreds of dollars to fix it, or buy a new MacBook Pro for thousands of dollars. Both options are very expensive and type of money I wasn't ready to spend on a computer at that moment. But then I discovered this store and I learned I now have a third option, a better option. To be honest I don't know how this place has so many good reviews, or if you guys got a better deal from a different employee. But I first read about this place from Craigslist and it was advertised at low rates STARTING at 1399 for recent models. However making the trip to this place, I received nothing but disappointment. The macbook(s) that were advertised to be that low were nowhere to be found unless it was a really old model that can be bought for cheaper at other places (even apple store itself). Everything was either 1800 and up. Not to mention the guy that helped me out talked in a low and inaudible voice and was not very helpful in explaining how these prices differed from the ones offered on their Craigslist post. I stumbled upon this store a few weeks ago while walking around the mall. My 27" iMac was not functioning at the time (it would get stuck on the white screen at startup) and I walked in to ask whether they repaired iMacs. After a brief conversation with Alex, I decided to run back home, grab the iMac, and bring it in for repair. Everywhere else I called gave me an approximate estimate of "several days to diagnose and another several days to repair." On that basis, I wasn't expecting to hear back from them for at least a few days. Much to my surprise, Alex called within 2 hours with a diagnosis and estimate for repair. I agreed to move forward. I was surprised to hear Alex tell me that the computer would be ready later that same day for pickup. Sure enough, I got the call later that same day and I was excited to pickup the computer. The computer was delivered as promised and in working order. Soon thereafter, I discovered a problem with my hard drive. The hard drive crashed on me before I got around to backing up the data and swaping hard drives (of course) and I lost a tremendous amount of valuable data. Tariq and Nas worked tirelessly over several days to help me retrieve virtually 100% of my data. I made several trips back and forth to the store with my iMac over the course of 2-3 weeks. The staff at Mac Star were incredibly patient and accommodating. These guys bent over backwards to minimize my inconvenience. I appreciate their hard work. They were tenacious in making a satisfied customer out of me and I am happy to report that they succeeded in that endeavor. I recommend their services without hesitation. read more

I saw lots of good reviews here in Yelp and I thought why not give them a try. Not impressed. The good. They have a wide range of used Macbook laptops for sale. The staff were helpful. They have a 3-month 0% financing without credit check. Not so good. I was surprised when I was quoted way too high for a repair. It's way more than the face value of my old macbook. I then asked for the prices of their used laptops. I was even more surprised when they gave me a price for a 2014 MBP that's higher than the price of a brand new 2015 MBP. I ended up buying a brand new 2015 MBP at Best Buy that's about the same price I was quoted for a used 2014 MBP. read more
