My 2010 Macbook Pro has stood the test of time, but some of the keys had broken off over the years. I finally decided to buy replacement keys on eBay to repair the keyboard myself, but unfortunately it did not work out. I ended up buying the wrong ones and so I decided my best bet was to bring in the keys to a Mac repair shop. I found this local shop through Yelp and I am so glad I found them! Great customer service and ended up fixing the keys for FREE since it was a quick fix :) Unfortunately the keys I had were for the wrong model and they luckily had some replacement keys in the shop. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back here for any Mac repair needs in the future. Pricing is reasonable as well. read more

Buyer Beware. This company appears to be less than honest. On November 27th I purchased an Atomos Ninja V for $499.99, and I was charged an exorbitant shipping fee of 64.99. Although that was a very high fee for such a small lightweight item, I decided to overlook it because I was anxious to get the monitor. Fast forward one week and, and I doubled back to patronize these guys instead of a larger brand like B&H, and instead of providing good customer service to a returning customer, they decided to try the old switch and bait. On their website they have the Nanlite Forza 300b listed for $939.99 despite the fact that it's listed for $655 everywhere else. So with that in mind I called and spoke with Ron in hopes of confirming the actual price of the light. After checking Ron notified me that the light was indeed $655. However once he confirmed the amount, he stated that another team member would be assisting me with the actual purchase. This is were the plot thickens! The lady that he said would help me attempted to quickly charge me $699.99 for the light instead of the price quoted by Ron. After I pointed out the discrepancy in price, she then went on to claim that she had to check with their distributor to see if (the light that she was just about to charge me for) was actually available in stock. Totally dishonest and unethical. They actually lost out on lots of future busines from me for a measly $45 bucks. read more

There is not enough words that can explain the greatness of this company. I had bought a laptop from them last year (Used 2016 Model 15") and it runs like a champ. Came in today to buy a camera so i can start my youtube channel and they had an enormous amount of cameras. I was looking for a canon mark iv but only got approved around $1300. They hooked me up with the 6d mark iii brand new. Rami was very knowledgable and friendly. I highly recommend you at least stop by the diamond in the ruff store and check them out. My Macbook from 2011 over the years slowed down to handle workloads of literally one thing at a time. Not only am I a student but I part time with video and photo editing so its not uncommon for me to need multiple apps at once. A buddy of mine raved about this place for how they fixed his Mac so I decided to call first and probe around to check their service and prices. Luckily I was directed to MOE, who spent a solid 15 minutes with me on the phone explaining in detail all the benefits my work would receive with a full SSD service (new hard drive). I was sold by not his salesmanship, but literally just his friendliness and overall willingness to help me. You know how sometimes you can fee when people are like reluctantly helping you, essentially just waiting for the service to be over? I didn't feel an ounce of that with MOE. So I was sold. I live in Long Beach so this is a little drive from my place, but I commited to this place over other Conp repair stores in my area just because of how comfortable MOE had me feeling for this. Lets face its, Mac's are expensive, so giving it away to some business to fix is pretty daunting. But when I got my computer back the next day, all of that anxiety washed away when I saw my Mac boot up in less than 20 seconds, when before it took at least 5 minutes. My husband brought his computer in not knowing what exactly was wrong with it. Moe diagnosed the computer with the goal of pinpointing what was wrong at the lowest cost possible. He ordered a replacement keyboard and bluetooth board in hopes that it would fix the computer. The worst case scenario happened and the computer required a new logic board. We have taken our computers to shops in the past where they would charge an "arm and a leg" and not take the time to properly diagnose the issue. Moe was very informative, showed us pictures of what was broken, and even tried to repair the part himself before resorting to replacing it. Our computer now runs even better than before it broke! I came here in hopes of picking up a 13" MBP retina that I saw for sale on Craigslist. As soon as I arrived the guy at the front greeted me and cordially asked me what I was looking for. I usually hate going to stores like this because I don't like being hassled or pressured, but once I expressed what I wanted they respected my decision and didn't try to sway me. Unfortunately the model I was looking for had been sold out but Alex hooked me up with a similar configuration and even upgraded the hard drive for me for free so I could get what I originally wanted. He was genuinely friendly and upfront with me and spoke to me like a person instead of his source of income like others tend to do. Mac star computers is the best. They were willing to work within my budget so that i could buy my son a computer. My son had previously spilled water on his computer and ruined his board. they told me the price to fix i decided that it would be better to buy a new macbook. After a while of looking around i got a 13" space grey macbook for my son and the technicians and sales rep told me they could transfer all the data from my old hard drive into my new computer for free. I don't know to whom I spoke with on the phone regarding a repair I needed done on my Macbook Pro, but I was calling to get a quote and he was extremely rude and wouldn't answer my questions directly. At first he had said they could do the repair and then when I (being tech-savvy) asked a few more technical questions because I didn't want to get the run-around, he rudely said they don't offer the repair and he hung up. Terrible customer service. I assume he just wanted to get rid of me because he wanted to over-charge me for something that was an easy fix. Brought my MacBook in for the screen and hard drive to get replaced and got a bigger hard drive and great service but then I took it home and the eject button didn't work and my screen was replaced with an older cracked from the outside screen! My advice to you is take your macs to Apple it's only $100 more but you'll have it fixed the right way with everything working properly and a new screen not an old one that they took probably from another customer my screen was brand new! read more

I have been mac stars customer since they were in the mall. When i told them i needed another imac and wanted to use the 90 day payment plan they had, Rami said that would be no problem. I must have asked him a million questions for about 1 hour of his time. He was so patient and answered all my questions. My first imac is really cool and works great but i decided to give it to my son, so i needed new one. Walking in the store i noticed it was very clean from corner to corner. desks and tables were clean. People there were smiling and place had a warm good vibe. Rami had showed me an older model imac and explained that for my needs (emails basically) i shouldnt spend more then 600 for a mac. i decided to get the 5k one he had because i really liked the picture and money was not an issue. My 2010 Macbook Pro would not boot, so I took it to the Apple Store in Brea. After finding out I had to leave my mac there for 3-5 days to be tested, my wife and I thought I would try something else. So we shot over to Santa Ana Main Street Mall to see Tariq at Mac Star. They got my Macbook Pro running (new hard drive cable) in a couple hours and gave us a great deal on a Macbook Air (my wife's new toy). These are off-lease macs, but their stock is in great condition and Tariq is extremely knowledgable and helpful. The 90 days (same as cash) thing wasn't too bad either.
