I needed some slides digitized and Bill's was the spot that could do the job! I reached out via e-mail and they replied within a day saying they could do the job, and giving me an estimate. Nice. Drove over, dropped off the slides on a Friday and Monday they were ready for download. A complete gem of a store. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable in everything film related. Their film is CHEAPER priced than Amazon. Amazon sells Kodak gold 24 exposure rolls for the same price this place sells 36 exposure rolls. Their film development is fast and high quality. It is sometimes emailed to my inbox before I even get home. I didn't know you could develop film that fast! There is no place like this and I hope they never go anywhere. read more

My Canon AE-1 Program's shutter button wasn't clicking and the lever got stuck. I wasn't sure what was happening after a bunch of research and watching videos to potentially fix it myself. I ended calling and taking the camera here. It turned out to be a battery contact issue. Got it fixed and got my camera working again within the week! I am glad it worked out because I would've been very sad if it wasn't fixable because it's one of my favorite cameras. read more

If you're into analog cameras, even digital, stop by Bill's before you buy any new stuff. His prices are really good on lenses and cameras, and the condition of this product is as stated there's no hidden scratching on the inner coatings of the lenses or a weird timing issue on the low speed shutter, unless it says so right on the tag. Lots of used lenses and accessories They do a really good job with developing and scanning as well. In my opinion, much better than The Darkroom, which is where everyone sending their film these days. From Bill to his employees, everyone is knowledgeable and courteous and really seem to want you to find that camera or lens that you really need or fits the situation that you're looking to shoot. I will go out of my way to spend money here versus sending it to Amazon or eBay or one of the online camera shops. read more

recently had my first roll developed here and couldn't be happier. I dropped it off Thursday around 5:30pm and by Friday noon I already had the scans ready to download -- way faster than I expected. The scan quality is superb. I also brought in what I thought was a "broken" camera (the film door seemed jammed). The owner took the time to carefully check it, opened it without issue, and saved my camera -- all without charging me. That kind of honesty and care means a lot. Been curious about this place for years now and finally stopped in recently to see what they all had to offer for the photo community of Huntington Beach. I didn't know exactly what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised to find not only friendly, well-knowledgeable staff, but a great selection of used photo gear at very reasonable prices (comparable to that of which you'll find anywhere online). While they have lenses and such for a wide variety of systems there most impressive stock was that of Canon and Nikon lenses. Which I will definitely be coming back soon to pick up a Nikon lens for myself and just to show some support to the local camera shop in these times that are so often dominated by Internet, mega companies. Was also pleasantly surprised to find out that they also offer film processing services. if not in-house, they will handle the sending out and legwork for you. So if you are looking for some great refurbished/used equipment or film processing as well as lots of other photographic services... If you want your films to develop within 24-48 hours, this is the spot for you! I have been a consistent customer ever since I gotten into taking film pictures. And let me tell you, they are so fast with it. I requested for digital and physical copies with the total ending up around $21. Not too bad in my opinion! If you only want the digital copies, I think it is around $12-13. However, my photos come out great every time! I never had a problem with them. The employees there are also very efficient - gets me in and out no later than 5 minutes. They also have a wide variety of digital cameras as well, but I have not really looked into them. Support local small business and go to Bill's for printing your digital photos and developing your film! I discovered the shop last year and have been buying disposable film cameras from them ever since. I also do all of my digital prints here. I like that they offer matte finish, which make the film prints look exceptionally beautiful. Prices are affordable. Don't go to Costco or Walmart. Service is also great and they develop my disposable film cameras within a day. read more

I started trying out film photography recently and wanted to get my first film roll scanned, so I came here on a whim. The reviews here looked promising so I had high hopes! The staff member who helped me out walked me through the process very quickly and efficiently. The price was about $12 for one roll to be scanned. He told me my scans would either be ready the night of or by the next morning- they were emailed to me in two hours! I'm impressed with the quality and speed of service provided here and am excited to take more photos. My college student son just started his art photography class and it requires a 35mm film camera. The Huz called around to a few places we found on Yelp AND he also looked into online sources including EBay. Getting something online wasn't appealing to us because you never know what you're going to end up with and the cost of these cameras are not exactly low enough to take risks. I'm just going to say it, it's pricey (around $300). I also felt like we had to move fast because I don't know how many college students around are also looking for the same types of cameras. After an inquiry phone call, The Huz found that this place carried what he was looking for and we were able to purchase a camera. It's a cute shop with friendly and helpful workers. If you're into photography, they seem to have all you need and seem knowledgeable and willing to give advice. There is plenty of parking. At the interest of full disclosure, none of the workers are wearing masks. But it is in Orange County and they tend to not have Covid mandates. It's completely okay for you to wear masks though, they don't seem to judge. read more

They are so quick to develop film, I came in a few hours after opening and they were able to get it developed and sent out about an hour or two after! Everyone here is super helpful and very knowledgable, and I am always greeted as soon as I walk in! Came here through a recommendation to get 35mm film scanned. Runs about $13-14 bucks a roll. I have a small ektar split frame cam and it's the same price as regular rolls :) Service is amazing, they're so fast and kind! Once pics are scanned they keep your negatives for about 2 weeks. I've almost forgotten once and just gave them a quick call and they'll keep it for you a little longer I once dropped off 2 rolls at 5:30 knowing they closed at 6 I didn't expect to receive anything till the next day but they were able to send it to me within 20 mins! A lucky occurrence :) They send the scans through we transfer which is completely free you just have to download the files before the link expires approx. 7 days. Highly recommend read more

I got into film photography in March of this year and was previously using another film lab that was closer to my house. They did a decent job but the experience at Bills is unmatched! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The owner helped me purchase my first non-point and shoot camera which is the Canon A1. He took time walking me through the settings and made sure it was operable before I left the store. I don't think I'll ever need another camera because it is so excellent. The scans are not over edited and come through looking beautiful every time - no weird edges or over saturation. I've gone to Bill's Cameras for a few times now, and each time has been great. I used to go to another place that was cheaper to develop + scan, but the resolution of the scans didn't match my standard (1-2MB). At Bill's Camera, the scan quality is very satisfactory (4-5MB) and well worth the price. Not to mention, the quick turnaround is a huge plus! I've not ever had to wait more than 2 days for scans if dropped off on a weekday. Some days, I get my scans in a few hours! I sent in a test roll for an old 35mm camera I just got and discovered some horizontal lines on my scans. I worried that it was a defect on my camera. After doing some research, I found it may have been some dust affecting scanning. I emailed Josh about it and received a quick reply. He rescanned my negatives for me same day and turns out it was a scanner error and not with the camera! I typically do not write reviews, but this experience and great customer service by Josh to remedy the issue really impressed me. I brought in my AE-1 for repair and they said if they gave me an immediate quote and explained if they couldn't fix it then they would not charge me anything at all. This was super surprising because every other shop I contacted ships out and requires you to pay a base and then quotes you. A few days later they reached out saying my camera was ready and was fixed! They even fixed my squeaky shutter which I hadn't even complained about!! They even went above and beyond and saved my film that was inside when my camera stopped working. It was from a special trip so it meant a lot that they could save it and even developed it within a few hours!! I have been going to Bill's Camera for a few years now off of a friend's recommendation and I have never been disappointed with my experience in the store. I have purchased film/equipment, paid for developing and scanning, and brought in my camera for repairs; each time I have been met with excellent customer service, rapid turnaround times, and very consumer-friendly pricing. All of the workers are super knowledgeable and passionate about cameras and photography and are usually more than happy to answer questions without giving you any extra BS. Regarding film, they typically carry all of the "standard" stocks like Kodak Portra, Fuji Superia, Ilford HP5, or Cinestill 800T. If there's an industry shortage of a stock, however, they might not carry that specific stock (not to their fault). Overall, I highly recommend this camera store! Just be sure to check their hours before visiting; they close at 3 PM on Saturdays and are not open at all on Sundays (like most other camera stores). read more

I have used these guys for years buying all my equipment used from them. Josh and Todd are very helpful and they even agreed to meet a Craigs List seller for me in the store so I could make sure the lens was good. I'm enclosing the shot that is going to cost me more $ , the Nikon 80-200 2.8 they sold me is a great lens which I used mainly for indoor basketball shots but as you can see it lacks in surf pics.
