Walked in on a Monday, and I was promptly assisted. Provided 3 matte options after I requested to enlarge a developed 35mm cut film from 1979 to a 4x6 and 8x10. Not only was it done next day, they created an account for me and I was notified of my status shortly I left and when it was ready for pickup, I got another email and then an e-receipt. I sent in a few rolls for developing+scanning+printing. First, I must share what others have said about poor customer service. Some of the workers are great, like the woman at the photo dev counter. You can walk by other workers and stand by the register without so much as an acknowledgment of your existence. Which is simply odd. I'm not expecting Ritz level service but like? Second, my negatives were not cut as requested. I was told I'd get my scans back the day I picked up the negatives. But I had to email them a few days later to received my scans, and even then I only ever got half of them. I contacted them again regarding the other half, and got nothing. Not great all around. Luckily these aren't the most important pics ever. Still, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

This is my local-ish go-to photo supply and developing spot. They have a great selection of of 35mm, 120, and 4x5 film and their in-house developing and scanning is top-notch. limited used gear and not a ton of accessories for sale - just not their business model, but the staff is fantastic. super helpful, not pushy, no gate-keeping to be found. good selection of photo paper and developing supplies and their printing service is really good. I try to spend my film/developing budget with these folks. They do send out slide film for developing and then scan it themselves. This means a 3 week delay and that is the only real downside to the shop. read more

Printed out my passport photos here. Can't recommend it more! If you ever need to print passport photos, this is the place, don't go to cvs or Walgreens or staples. I printed 16 passport photos (I have thr digital file) and only paid less than 5 dollars! Not to mention the high quality, the excellent service, and no wait time. Recommend!! read more

I am disappointed with the very slow develop & scan service. I was given an ETA of 1 week (Friday 6PM). Well, it's Friday at 8:30PM and I do not have my scans yet, and they are closed for the weekend. No notice or anything of a late delivery. Paying almost $25 for develop and scan should have better service. read more

My original review still stands. These guys are family after having been with them since '84 when I was taking photo classes. We've aged a bit, become cranky at times but that's family life. Truly a gem in OC. I've been shooting film for 4+ years now and I'm a devout customer here. By far, it is the cheapest place to develop your film rolls in the area. One of the biggest reasons I continue to come back. Film is not cheap Turn over rate truly depends on when you come in and how much they're developing. Usually turnaround for me has been 1-2 weeks but they've never sent me photos after their promised time and date. The earliest I've gotten my photos back was probably within 3 days? John is so sweet- always super welcoming. If you're a regular customer, they have all your information stored including email + payment info so all you need to do is quickly fill out the form and pass on your film rolls. I've never rented out equipment from them, but I've recommended this place to ALL of my film taking friends and they all love it!! read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend whom I trust since she shoots film exclusively for her business. So if she trusts these guys for that, I'm sure they would do a good job with my random rolls of film. I walked in and was immediately stoked! So many cool cameras, tons of film, used gear, etc. "Kid in a candy store" type of feel. I met John, which is who my friend told me to find. John was great. I only said a few words to him until someone else took care of me. This other guy wasn't so great. I think he was a younger dude. He just didn't seem like he wanted to be there or have time for me. Not the most pleasant guy. Like, if I asked him a question, he made it seem like I should've know the answer. I dropped off my rolls and waited. The notification process is a little confusing. They send you an email saying your photos are ready, but you have to wait for a link. That link didn't come until a couple business days later. Seems like if you get an email saying your photos are ready, just send the link in that email. I got my photos back and they were great. But half way through my rolls, I noticed a digital glitch, like an RGB static across the photo. I knew it wasn't me because film cameras don't do that. I emailed the shop with screenshots asking for a rescan. No one responded. I called them a few days later and the guy that answered was even more unpleasant. Like he didn't believe me or something. I referred him to my email, which he found. That part was frustrating. They obviously received my email and just didn't respond? That sucks. After he saw my screenshots, he then said it was a scanning issue on their end and that he would rescan and send a new link. No apology or anything. Just attitude. That also sucked. All of this was just before Christmas. So I gave them plenty of time to get back to me. Well, I still haven't received anything. These photos are just a hobby. But I don't know how people trust these guys if they're shooting professionally. If you've gotten this far, cheers. I'm still going back to them because while I think some of the guys there aren't cool at all, this is the only place around that can develop film professionally (hopefully). read more

PPC sent 3 rolls of film from me into the netherworld of lost mail, due to their use of old addresses on the order form. Even though I put my new address on the space clearly marked "new address". This is not the first time this has happened. The prices at PPC are fair, I don't have an issue with that. I called them and explained the lost mail situation, and was told I would get a follow up call. 6 months later, no call. Obviously, they don't give a crap. I'm just relieved it wasn't a client's film, it was family pictures on those 3 rolls of film. Needless to say, I won't be using Pro Photo Connection for my film developing needs in the future. Pro Photo Connection, this digital photo printing and film store has absolutely horrible customer service - it's non-existent. I requested a quote on photo enlargement and graphic work design on three prints on August 15th, and I was told ''the quote will be emailed over by the end of the week. I received nothing that Friday. I called the following week and was informed by John that ''we've been very busy so we'll get on it ASAP and you'll receive that email quote estimate within several days. 2 weeks passed without an email or phone call explaining the delay. I thought perhaps my email wasn't copied correctly (and my cell for that matter) so I called again September 1st. John mentioned they now have time to work on this --- email will be sent within a few days at the most. Again, nothing received at the end of that week. I then decided to actually drop over to the store on September 15th --- met John in CS. John pulled the request and project details on his computer so his memory would serve him well. I asked if they can actually do the work, I reiterated that if they can't handle the project, for whatever reason - please let me know. His reply ''no, it's just been busy here but now that the work is in front of me - it'll have it definitely sent over by the end of this week''. It's now over 2 weeks and it's obvious that either A) they don't care about running an honest business, B) prefer to string customers along and not taken on work (reasons unknown) or C) they are going out of business. Outside these possible reasons - I'm completely lost for any rational explanation for this ridiculously absurd conduct. I've obviously taken my business elsewhere. Be warned! read more

This place is absolute quality in so many ways. I used to use Pro Photo Connection to print my photos, for recreational purposes. It was always such great quality print and paper. I moved a little far from the shop and tried other print shops but didn't find the same quality as I did with this photo shop. So even with the drive, I still print all my photos from this shop. A couple days before Christmas, I needed a special photo printed for one of my gifts. I made a mistake on the order and was very sad to not have the picture I needed for the gift with only two days before Christmas. I could've resorted to another photo shop but I couldn't get over the difference in quality. On top of that, I wasn't planning on going back to Irvine for a while. John was so kind to offer to print the photo first thing in the morning and ship it to me immediately, in hopes that it would get to me before Christmas. And it did! I received a well protected package with my photo the day before Christmas. John went above and beyond to make sure I got what I was looking for. And the print, as always, was such great quality. They've continually crushed it on every roll I've brought to them and I always appreciate their quick, friendly and welcoming service. I started going to Pro Photo over 30 years ago. I was studying Studio Art/Photography in College and Pro Photo had everything I needed. I went there for processing, camera rentals, purchasing cameras, accessories, scanning, restoring old prints, they do it all. It was my go to spot then and has continued to be throughout the years. I highly recommend it for all your photography needs. The one person that has been there from the beginning is John. I'm so grateful for him and the entire staff, who have always been there to help me through my deadlines, to advise and guide me with my orders and purchases. Sent my film for developing to this place recently. First time using them. I was disappointed that one of the rolls had a scanning artifact present in every single one of the frames (it was a horizontal line running along the bottom third of the frame; see picture attached). I called them up to inquire what happened, as I wasn't sure at the time if it was a developing or a scanning problem. John verified that it was an issue with the scanning, so he said they'd re-scan that roll. To add insult to injury, they never re-scanned the roll. The next thing I knew is I got my negatives in the mail. I'll take my business elsewhere next time. read more

My review is based off of my experience with the rental department. I rent Canon lenses here occasionally and have not had any issues whatsoever. The prices for the rentals are fair, if you pick up the lens on a Friday you only pay for 1 day of renting as long as you return the lens on Monday by 10AM. Not a bad deal I would say! It's perfect for me as most of my jobs are on the weekend. I would advise you to reserve your rental(s) at least a week in advance. Many of the lenses get rented out fairly quickly, so it's best not to drop in to rent one without making a reservation. Making a reservation also speeds up the process when picking up the lens. There's a good selection of prime, telephoto, and zoom lenses, as well as lighting and other accessories and bodies. The guy working the rentals is very friendly, and he even offered me a bagel because he heard my stomach growling like crazy! (haha) My choice for DSLR lens rental in Orange County. read more

Was rushed, looked at like i was stupid for every question i had, didnt even finish talking before he moved on to the next customer. I was in need of renting a canon mirrorless camera for the day and was picking up my order online. I was told my lense would be compatible for the body I was renting, so I went home and it was not compatible. I came back and was working with David the rental manager and I've never had a worse experience with customer service. He was so rude and not helpful. In short he said that adapters aren't rentable and they don't sell them. I can either buy an adapter or rent a lense from them. He was so short, and so rude by his one worded responses that I returned the body I rented and won't be doing business with this company anymore. Ive been a professional photographer for almost a decade and have rented at many different locations- but I've never worked with an employee (David) that was the opposite of helpful or kind. read more

I have been going to this place to develop and purchase film since a covid started. In 2021, their prices have gone up about $1 so they are no longer the cheapest spot in town. Their film developing & scanning takes about 2 weeks which is pretty long. I would also suggest getting medium size files when you develop, because the small size is quite grainy & low res. Honestly, today was the last straw of me going there. The owner or the guy who runs the place is such an a**hole. Whenever I go in, he has a smirk on his face and has a horrible energy. He is super condescending and snarky if you don't know a lot about film and especially if you're a woman. His presence alone makes me never want to go back! It's too bad. I just don't want to feel judged and uncomfortable every time I go to develop film. read more

Okay. Brace yourselves. I was so hesitant to leave a bad review, but today was the last straw. I used to use PPC for film and I thought it was great for that, they were pretty quick in turn around times so I thought wow this is great. Until I started noticing my scans were really poor quality. Not enough detail, very bad, green cast in the shadows (notorious for noritsus) basically, these guys just put their photos on auto and let the scanner do its thing. This is very bad, scanners are not humans, they need input from an actual person to tell it what a scene actually looks like. FIRST RED FLAG. Of course I didn't know this. And I don't expect everyone to know this, it takes many rolls and a lot of money later to notice these things. Most people think "that's just how film looks" which is not btw. I didn't realize this until I tried the other film Lab that's just a block away. I won't name drop, but trust me, it was day and night. Like I said it pains me to do this because I actually know someone that works here that's a really good person and it sucks. The customer service here is unbearable. You walk in and it's almost as if they don't want to help you and they don't even acknowledge you're there. No greet, no nothing. I had an encounter with the rental department and man, that guy is something else. He looks at you like you're an inconvenience to his day. I asked what he had in L glass for canon, he didn't even say a word. He simply lifted his arm and did a up and down, demonstrating gesture in front of the cabinet. Then proceeds to walk away. Classic pro photo. I said nothing and walked out. Honestly I don't know what they're even doing there, and it seems like they hate their job. In other words, save yourself the embarrassment. Over the last month something changed. Stress from covid? New untrained employees "handling" calls. Can never get someone to answer the phone. It's sad, there are not too many places that develop film. Orders missing items, proofs, or sent incomplete. Then i get hit with duplicate charges. Just hot garbage. Cool store but prices are very comparable to other nearby stores and with their customer service, I don't think I would come back. Initially we were helped by David who was very short, unhelpful and RUDE AF. We asked a couple of questions that were answered with blank stares. We were later assisted by a younger Hispanic guy who was a lot more friendly and helpful. I'm glad he took over because my boyfriend and I were ready to walk out on David and take our business elsewhere. I'm unsure if I'd come back since our initial experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Another customer who was nearby commented "at least he talked to you guys, he didn't even bother helping me." Lisa Marie and the people at Pro Photo Connection are great! I have just started working with them for the film processing needs of my company and the service they have given us is excellent. Their prices are more than reasonable and the quality of their work is terrific. They worked with us to find a happy medium between their workflow and ours so that neither would be disruptive. And when you have 192 rolls of APS film that need to be scanned, having workflow run smooth is vital. We will absolutely continue using them as our first choice for film processing and scanning. read more

I'm happy to find this local store! I've been using mpix because I wanted higher quality prints than pharmacy or grocery store's photo centers. The photo that I've printed from here was as good as mpix at lower price. In addition, I haven't paid for shipping because I was able to pick it up on my way to work. I've been coming here for various retail items, especially 35mm and 120 film, renting lens, plus same day film developing (if you drop off process only by noon , ready by 4pm) for years now. John, although he acts snarky, is actually a big teddy bear who will actually go out of his way to help you, even as he critiques what you're wearing.
