My makeup 9 hrs later.. thank you Ashley wade!!
Helene K.

Booked an impromptu full face Saturday for my professional head shots. My experience with MUA Ashley wade restored my confidence and overall my pics came out amazing! She is a very talented and great to work with, her personality is bubbly and outgoing (find that hard to come by with cosmetic professionals nowadays) she helped me pick out tones to blend and really make my features pop! Staff is welcoming, the store is clean and organized, and help is consistent. I highly recommend this location on getting services.

To quote the always fabulous Dolly Parton, "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap". That's certainly how I felt when I was here a few months ago having my makeup done for a wedding I was attending. I called in advance to book a spot and was simply told they had me down. As soon as I arrived all the ladies were busy, so I waited for about ten minutes until the artist they paired me with was free. Right away she knew the look I was going for. We chatted about new products while I made a mental note of what I would be purchasing for my $50 product fee. I brought false MAC lashes with me that I bought the last time I had my makeup done, but was told she couldn't apply them for sanitary reasons. I understood because they use the same bottle of glue for everyone, but wish I would have known beforehand. That way I could have asked to bring my own glue since I'm terrible at applying those myself. When she finished I was extremely pleased with the result. She nailed it while being fun and enjoyable to talk to for the hour she worked. She gathered the items I wanted along with my complimentary tube of mascara, and met me back at the register in the main store room to check out. I've had my makeup done at MAC numerous times, even as recently as last year in the same back room, and the price has always been a $50 product fee. Needless to say when I was told my total was $114, I was taken aback. She said that anytime you book an appointment in their back room, it's a $60 application fee that still includes a free mascara. I really wish I would have been told that when I made the appointment, because I would've been completely fine getting it done in the main room for the normal price. I still needed the other items and there wasn't anything she could do to lower the price at that point since she was done, so I bottled my sticker shock and handed her my credit card. To add insult to injury.. it was declined. You see friends, because I was in town from out of state I only had one credit card with me that just happened to be the Amex through our Costco account. What my husband failed to tell me before our trip, was that they canceled that card when our new Visa's came in the mail. Another problem was that those new cards were sitting at home in Texas on our kitchen table requiring activation before they could be used. I was so humiliated. Thankfully I had my debit card, but winced when that amount was taken out of it which I hadn't planned for. I wanted to say forget it, pay the $60 and jet, but was far too embarrassed by then and just wanted to buy the crap and get out of there. I walked out in tears nearly ruining my expensive face. We were able to sort out the card situation back at the hotel before the wedding but it left me in such a bad mood. The whole situation could have been avoided had someone simply told me how much it would be when I made the appointment. Point? Be sure to ask about the pricing if you are making an appointment here (and that you have the correct card). I know I certainly will from now on. But at least I got a lot of compliments at the wedding so hey, I guess not all was lost. ;-)

Go see Sarah at the MAC store in this mall!!!! She knows what she is doing. If your looking for great customer and the best match of make-up for your face she is your girl! I'll def.ly be back to see her.

Things I liked about this MAC location: The sales associate helping me was the most down to Earth I've encountered at any MAC location. They didn't make me feel like an ugly bug for not having done myself up in stage make-up before heading here or like I was some podunk suburban hillbilly for wanting to take a more conventional approach to make-up (ie- not shaving my eyebrows off and drawing them back in 2 inches higher like the staff at some of the other MAC cosmetics I've experienced). Also, my sales associate didn't try to up-sell me on anything. She answered my questions, assisted me with the 2-3 things I wanted, invited me to their next event and I was on my way. Things I didn't like: After I paid and was on my way, the store magically appeared cluttered with personnel talking amongst each other and standing in front of every exit route I could use to leave the store. So now I had to suck it in and try to squeeze through with my bag of cosmetics like I was the podunk bug I'd referenced in my first scenario. Sooo, some of the staff could certainly use a customer service lesson, while others aced the congeniality test. Love/Hate... take it or leave it. You can always try heading over to the Nordstrom MAC counter if there aren't a hoard of tanning-crazed women taking up all the cosmetic staff's time, like on my attempt to patronize them.

I'm a bit of a makeup junkie and enjoy trying new stuff out all the time. I've been wearing their eyeshadow for a long time now, I just love them. They can be a bit pricey but I really love the quality and colors. The staff are pretty helpful too.

New Remodel looks FABULOUS!!!!! I LOVE it!!!!

One smiling employee stood behind the counter. No one else was in the stop. Stepping inside felt like I was thrust into an alternate zen universe of calm & peacefulness while shoppers rushed nearby. Ommm. First impression: some kind of upscale version of LUSH. The store markets itself as a bath & body line made from the finest natural ingredients with scents inspired by nature. Most of the shops are in NYC. Since I love things that are natural/organic/pure/raw, this intrigued me. Looking around, I found adorable [recycled!] glass bottles of shampoos, lotions, oils, soaps, scrubs, and such. They also have candles and other ways to make a space smell pretty. Everything looked beautiful. Everything smelled wonderfully. And everything had a pretty hefty price tag, yet it's comparable to high-end cosmetic/skincare lines. I probably wouldn't be able to buy any of these things for myself unless I specifically budgeted for it. And I'm going to budget for it. The best part (for me) is the chance to try one of the scrubs or liquid soaps and wash our hands in beautiful stone fountain. I actually overlooked this fountain when I walked in, but walking out, I don't know how I missed it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try one of the products (I was in a hurry.... I wasn't thinking.... I don't know!), but I will come straight back here the next time I find myself at the mall. Final impression: LUSH, what's that? Move over. Sabon wins.

I used it a little but waited for winter when my skin was more dry. When I took some to put on my skin it didnt dissolve in my skin and pieces of residue was left on my skin. This product is probably one of many faulty items. They overcharge so much for their products. Worse thing- I contacted the "owner" of this store- chicago location and woodfield and they refused to do anything about it. Pretty sad that they dont value customer service and sell products that are faulty and probably close to expiring. Im never buying anything here again.

Now with that out of the way, on with the review. I got turned on to this brand based upon a stocking stuffer I got at Christmas and I have been pretty much obsessed with it ever since. All of the products I have tried have been effective to the point of almost being dark Voodoo magic. Whoever the person is that concocts this stuff needs to be given a Nobel Prize immediately. It's truly mind boggling to the point that there is no way I would ever believe it if I did not experience it for myself. The store itself is located conveniently close to one of the entrances at Woodfield. Well, as convenient as anything at Woodfield could possibly be anyway. Just park in the parking lot adjacent to the comedy club and Lord and Taylor. It will be to your immediate left after you walk in that entrance. All of the ladies that work here are total sweethearts, and as you would expect, are quite knowledgeable about the product lines. They also have a good bedside manner for customers like myself. By that I mean they totally get that it is somewhat awkward for a single guy to stop in to discuss skin care. They make it easy. In my case I just told them what my prevailing issues were and let them pick the products for me. This turned out to be a home run. I could speak forever on the products themselves, but I'll keep it brief and just go with the most insane of the bunch in the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Stop what you are doing and go there to purchase some immediately. I'm dead serious. After you do you are going to kicking yourself that you did not do this sooner. This little blue bottle packs a hell of a punch. It is the skin care equivalent of rubbing on Aladdin's lamp. Don't believe me? Google it and have a read and you will find reviews from thousands of people just like me who are bewildered by it's power. Quite literally the first day after using it my skin was so soft I stood there and rubbed it in front of the mirror for awhile. It also took up a radiant glow that has only intensified with time. People that I encounter day to day began to notice and my previous problems with breakouts disappeared never to return. The only drawback is price, as it's expensive, but worth every penny! The truly cool thing about Kiehl's? The aforementioned blue elixir of the gods is just the tip of the iceberg. You will be upping your grooming game at every turn when you experiment with their other products, and I suppose I would be amiss if I did not also mention the Facial Fuel moisturizer. So there you have it in a nutshell, fellow Yelpers. Now you know what I do. The bottom line is this: If you have a desire for better skin and you have the cash to afford it, this store has the products that deliver. Period.

I stopped in on Saturday 4/25/26 for an exchange. We had to search for an associate, to start off. Some were behind the counter on their phones, chit chatting with each other, or hiding behind racks. I felt like I was in a sea of employees with none to be found- strangest experience. I unfortunately found a counter with a lady named Cathy behind it. Cathy falls in top five worst shopping experiences I've ever had. She immediately profiled me, it was actually disturbing. Without letting me say a word about my exchange, she went on and on about why is it her problem and she's a "rule follower". She wouldn't even take the time to pull up my personal book or my mother in laws, who gifted them to my husband. Also, keep in mind, there are no "rules" when it comes to Nordstroms return policy. She was strictly there to give me a hard time and make me feel like I was doing something wrong. Things only went downhill from there when she called her MIC. A male named Eric I believe? African American with a beard. He came down with a quickness and never made eye contact with me once. The two of them together couldn't make one good manager. I found him to be cowardly and an example of the company's poor onboarding & training. It's not too late to invest in a leadership program, let me know if you're interested. My three items were like-new and only tried on. My husband has a bad habit of washing all his clothes before he wears them. He did exactly that in September 2025 to realize the pants fit him poorly on the legs. Since when is that a crime or not allowed? I've posted the return policy directly from their website with my review. It's clear that Cathy and her MIC were only trying to give me, and likely many other customers, a hard time and not service. So much for playing by the rules.
