I always walk past this store but the inviting smells led me straight in today. I tend to avoid fragrances because I get migraines & also make my own body butter. I was so glad I came in. Their products are fresh and handmade and don't have that artificial fragrance that makes me want to rip my hair out of my head. The massage bars melt into your skin and they have many gift options for you or your loved ones. I got a piggy shaped chia body scrub bar and their charity pot coins. Lush is known for having kind and helpful employees, so I'm unsure how this new batch of workers slipped through the cracks. I was ignored by the tall, heavy blonde sales associate, and dismissed by the shorter chubby redhead sales associate. If I ask about certain hair products, you shouldn't assume that I can't use them because my hair is covered. My hair was covered because it was 2 Degrees outside! But even if it was due to religious reasons, why would it be your place to tell me that "there's probably nothing here for me"? I was the only shopper in the store for a while, so being bothered by other clients can't even be used as an excuse. I'm just genuinely confused and disappointed by how I was treated. I first encountered lunch several years ago on a trip, and didn't even think about it for many years. After finding out there is one within a half hour of me I walked in and felt so excited. I have now switched to using their body wash, exfoliation products, and their facial skin care line. All because they focus on customer service. I always leave with samples of things to add into my routine, and my favorite all time product is the lotion charity pots. We all know and love their bath bombs. I usually have about 10 on stock in my house just because they're so fabulous I never want to run out. However, with my wedding looming closer and closer, I wanted to get my face in shape and Shaina (sp?) was a lifesaver! She walked me through what kind of skin I have: oily or dry? Red? Acne scars? You name it, they'll ask. Then she suggested one of 20 of their face masks, and I lucked out with the delicious, chunky seaweed kind (you guys, my sister got the garlic kind, so beware of smells! Hahahaha). I've been using it for a month now and it's phenomenal! It's changed the look and feel of my skin drastically. My one tiny problem is that customers fight over these masks. They typically sell out same day, and seeing as I work no where near Woodfield, I'm scared I'll never be able to get my refill. Small price to pay for beauty I suppose! read more

I looooove this location! Huge store, and the workers are all very nice and helpful. They make great recommendations based on your preferences. The products all make your skin super soft and makes you smell amazing. Lush products are made with 100% natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. They have amazing stress relief products, too! This location has a whole wall full of bathbombs on bookshelves. Consequently, they are always overstocked with any product you are looking for. The Bubble Spinner, the Fizzbanger, and Cheer Up Buttercup are amazing here, and that's only a select few that are amazing products to use from here. About eight years ago somebody gave me a cream from there for my hands called helping hands and it is the best cream. That's the only thing I use. I'm SO stoked to finally have found this place!! I purchased a bunch of stuff to try (5 or 6 bath items), which totaled $50 (with shipping). So, it's NOT cheap. But supposedly the bombs and a couple others make really cool colors, and have glitters, in addition to the great smells. I can totally foresee this place becoming an addiction. Now, the store itself - fairly small, but long. They were able to pack a nice amount of product into the store. there were several employees available to help. I had two come up to ask if I needed help. 10/10 experience, me and my little sister took our nephews and niece to the mall and they were exhausted because we had been at Woodfield for 4 hours already lol. Lush was our last stop, and they were bored. Nicky saw and stepped in, she asked if they wanted to see something cool and put bath bombs in the sink and let them stir it with popsicle sticks to see all the cool colors. She even gave them soap to wash up afterwards, which I greatly appreciated the gesture. She really went above and beyond and really took care of us and was super nice to the kids and made them feel so welcome and they had fun. I've had a lifetime love affair with bubble baths. When I was a little kid, I would dump half the bottle of shampoo in the water. But now that I'm a "grownup", I hate pruney hands almost as much as I hate: 1. closed-toed shoes / socks. Winter and I don't go together well. 2. people that poach cabs. you know what I'm talking about; they see you waiting in front of the building, so they walk up the block and THROW themselves into the street to get the cab to stop for them. 3. the word "womb". 4. split ends. 5. really stinky Muenster cheese. So saying that Lush Bath Bombs and Bubble Bars are so luxurious and fun that I'll stay in the tub for an hour means a LOT. I personally recommend the Comforter. Use half of it and watch your bathtub explode with bubbles, a berries and cream scent and a pink tint. I also love their skin care line, which has their most underrated products considering the harsh, dry Chicago winters. The Helping Hands cream is a godsend. I keep it in my desk drawer at work, right above the snacks and goodies drawer. Another winner: the Breath of Fresh Air toner, which is so light. All of their products consist of mostly natural/organic materials, which is an even more uplifting incentive. One perk of this particular Lush store is its monthly display of soaps, where you guess how much it weighs and if your guess is closest, you win all the soap. One of these days, I'm going to get it. Lush's Schaumburg location is the nearest Lush store where I'm currently staying. It's about a 40 minute drive from Lake County. I quickly navigated my way from Woodfield Mall to this Lush store. It wasn't crowded at all but it was definitely smaller the the Lush store location in San Jose where I normally go. The customer service here could definitely improve. There wasn't a lot of customers, yet both 2 employees on the floor never greeted me nor asked me if I needed any help. I just looked around by myself and found the products I was looking for. The checkout lane was ridiculous. Waited about 10 minutes for one customer to finish checking out. I finally was able to get my products and left. read more

Abysmal customer service (or in this case, lack thereof) absolutely frustrates me. It's one thing that I cannot stand. I found myself in Lush this afternoon around 1:45 to pick up another massage bar (Each Peach (and Two's a Pair) since mine is almost finished. I also wanted to pick up a pot of Helping Hands, which was recommended to me by my aunt (a nurse who washes her hands frequently and uses it to keep her skin soft). First, it was extremely crowded in there with hoards of people (specifically teen and preteen girls), so it was hard to browse around without bumping into anyone. It does not help that the store is not very large. Nonetheless, I located my two items, which were conveniently on the same table rather quickly. However, I had no idea how I was supposed to take my massage bar up to the register to pay for it. They are not packaged and just sit out in the open. Also, you can't hold them in your hands for a long time since they melt into your skin. That's the purpose of the bar - you rub it all over your body. Strike 1. I could feel my frustration growing as I walked around the store looking for an employee. Mind you, not one customer bothered to greet me upon arrival. No one mentioned any of the sales/deals to me either. FYI: there is a buy one, get one free sale on their seasonal items. Strike 2. Anyway, I pretend to look around at other items, which I had no intention of buying, in hopes that I would bump into an associate. Spoiler alert: I didn't find one. I overheard a young male telling his shopping companion that they wrap it up for you while they were looking at some of the soap sitting out on display. I processed that tidbit of information and I interpreted it to mean: don't touch the soap, have someone touch it for you. After all, it's pretty unhygienic to touch and touch products that people may buy, right? I "browsed" around for a few more minutes, pretending to mull over what I needed in hopes an employee would miraculously appear. Again, no one showed up. Strike 3. So, I went over to the cash register to ask how I was supposed to get a massage bar. The employee told me that I could put it in a bag, and he handed me one. I marched back over to the display, put a massage bar into the proffered bag, grabbed a pot of hand cream and hauled my ass back to the register area. The woman who rang me up attempted to make small talk about my hand cream. This small talk/product education (or whatever the hell she was trying to tell me) would have been preferred *prior* to me buying my items. So, I just nodded along, trying to remain polite while she rang up my items. Then, she just *carelessly* shoved them into a small paper bag (see picture) and not a pretty one with a handle. Seriously, WTF? Was my $32.59 not good enough for you? I mean seriously, WTF. At least straighten it up and fold it down or something. How difficult would that have been? Strike 4. My grievances are as follows: 1: Wouldn't it make sense to have the bags by the display so that people can put their products into them? 2: Wouldn't it make sense to have some sort of explanation as to how to bag your items? 3: Wouldn't it make sense to have an associate or two on the sales floor trying to help/educate people (read: get them to spend money on your products)? Evidently not. And for that, this particular Lush epically failed me. This trip was a hot mess. I don't like to waste my time. It's valuable to me. Going forward, I will either avoid this one completely or proceed with caution. Instead, I will either visit the Wicker Park location since the sales associates were friendlier, more helpful and made their presence known. Or better yet, I'll save myself the trouble, and I'll just order my products online. read more

It's been awhile since I stepped foot in this mall, or this location. Honestly never thought I'd be at this mall again. Swung by here because I was in town and had run out of my favorite deodorant from LUSH. I know that LUSH is supposed to be natural and organic and awesome, but please do check the ingredients before you purchase their products. The only thing I ever buy from here are bath bombs (usually as gifts) and the T'eo deoderant. There were some other things I was interested in at one point, but when I read the labels, I found questionable ingredients. Maybe things have changed, but anyway... The deodorant is the best one I've had so far. Keeps me dry all day! That said, all I needed to was dash into this store, quickly grab it, and dash out. Well, once I made it all the way into the mall and walked into this store, I was greeted by a gaggle of employees. Seriously... might have been more employees than customers and there was a decent amount of shoppers in there. The cashier line nearly ran out the door. It overwhelmed me. An employee accepted my quick dismissal of her sales attempt, helped me locate the T'eo, and pointed out the new metal tin holders for them (YES!). By the time I made my purchase and left the store, I felt like I could breathe again. Just so much going on in there. All those awesome smells, yes, but so much! I really dislike that this is located right in the middle of the mall, though. If it were in Macy's (does Woodfield even have a Macy's?) then it would be easier and quicker to get to if this was my only destination (as it usually is). But... it is where it is. Got my deodorant. I don't usually review shops, but I've been to this location tons of times and it's always an absolute treat, so here we go. Everyone who works in this store is so dang nice. I have very fussy skin and the employees who help me always go way out of their way to help me find products that won't make me miserable. Even when the store is busy, they still make me feel like they actually want to help. Every single person I've ever talked to in here has just been miles ahead of employees in most other stores in the area in terms of customer service. Bonus points to the cashiers, who always seem to notice when someone only buys vegan stuff, cause they never give me any non-vegan samples even if I never mention the word vegan (thanks folks, I hate doing it). They're also very attentive to the types of products you're buying and they give you samples based on that, which is just awesome. I love Lush in general, but this store takes the cake even in the Lushosphere. Keep doing what you're doing! read more

She wasn't too thrilled, she isn't the type to care if her soap is Dove or Organic delicious smelling special soaps with glitter in them, as long as it does the cleaning job it was made for. She would much rather spend her money and time in any music store. Looking for glittery bath bombs? How about fresh face masks? Delicious smelling everything? Lush is your jam. And my jam. And my 5 year old's dream shopping locale. So many smells, so many colors, so little time (and money). Lush is occupying a new space next to MAC on the first floor of Woodfield, near-ish Lord and Taylor and Argo Tea. Could the space be overwhelming? Hell yes, especially if lots of smells and colors isn't what you're looking for. Even though the store attempts to be set up by categories (hair, face, makeup, etc), I found it a little tough to find what I was looking for. All that being said, the employees are very helpful and friendly, and I've loved just about everything I've tried. My faves include: Rosy Cheeks Mask, Sleepy Lotion, Clarify Mask, and the reusable bubble bars (my kids love 'em). My one gripe about the products is that you really have to watch the expiration dates - most of the fresh masks have an expiration date of 2-3 weeks after packaging. Keep them refrigerated! Bring your credit card, while Lush items aren't cheap they are great. read more

I guess Lush has been right under my nose this whole time, but mall-hater me came across it for the very first time while in Dublin, Ireland. Go fig. I had been eyeing some gifts for my +1 while I was there, but didn't want to spend my Euros nor schlep a bunch of ish home. Luckily a Yelp search clued me in about the Woodfield location. I was given great customer service right off the bat when I inquired about citrus-scented soaps since that's his jam. The associate showed me a body wash, the solid soaps, and the shave lotions. I ended up getting him the Sandstone and Sexy Peel soaps, in addition to an Each Peach massage bar. One of the associates zeroed in on my belly bump and recommended the Organic Therapy massage bar for me. Sure, why not? I'll take all the preventative help (re: stretch marks) I can get! I interacted with probably 4 different associates in the short time I was there. They were helpful, friendly, and in-tune to customer cues but, not overbearing. The layout of the store is very nice, by the way: spacious and organized. Of course I left spending more than I would have liked, but the appeal of nice-smelling soaps and lotions was definitely strong! My mom loves this place, too (she bought several soaps at Lush Dublin), so now I know where to get her gifts, too. read more

Best Lush I've been and have been going to! I've been going to this location for a couple of years now and from the beginning it's been great. Tiny side note I have had a minor encounter with an employee who seemed to misunderstand that my reusable bag was already paid for (and used for 4 months). It doesn't matter much because when I spoke to the manager she was so nice and kind and she honestly wanted to make up for the misunderstanding. With that being said, between Lush locations in or near Chicago, or Madison, Wisconsin (also Wisconsin as a whole) this is the best location you can go to. I've been to most Lush locations in the surrounding states but this one is different in that 1. there's a few special employees (including the manager) who are too kind and helpful. They remember me each time. 2. They are more likely to have more products in stock. Because let's be honest if you can get that particular bath bomb or bubble bar today would you really want to wait for it to arrive?? I'd definitely recommend this Lush location over any other located in Illinois or Wisconsin. read more

Fantastic LUSH location, not for the usual product reasons. Recently went in, and staff was amazing. There wasn't a lot of product out, but wasn't due to anything immediate staff or management could control. The store is massive, which was nice, because a lot of the LUSH shops are just bigger than a closet. Having worked at LUSH years ago at a location on the west coast, I knew what it was supposed to look like. The lack of product shook me up in a way I was not prepared for. The staff was just so supportive and the quintessential LUSH employees. Tyler (I'm so sorry if I'm still misremembering! I knew that was going to happen!) and Maria were awesome. There was also another staff member who was great, but I didn't catch their name! They gave me a sample of product, and it really meant a lot that they saw I was having some emotional reactions, and responded to it. It was great to chat with them, and they knew what I was talking about when I inquired about certain products. I'm absolutely going to return to this location again. The experience was everything I didn't know I needed, and was everything that espouses what LUSH was about, that kindness and connection to the earth and people that everyone can benefit from. read more

I became acquainted with Lush when I was studying in Serbia. The store was starting to pop up around Euope and had become popular in the Balkans. One of their signature soaps was named Sexy Peel in English, but it became Sexy Miris (Sexy Smell) na srpskom. I was thrilled when Lush showed up in the US but found that the prices were higher. It had been a bit spendier in Serbia. It seemed almost unaffordable here. I've visited this location and the one in Edina, MN a couple times. It's always been to grab gifts for others. I've yet to splurge that much for myself. Though I haven't purchased anything to pamper myself with yet, I can always count on them to have something special for stuffing goodie bags. This is my go to place for bachelorette gift bag ideas, particularly since many of the soaps have sexy names and/or are meant to be shared with your significant other. For example, the Sex Bomb bath bomb or the Soft Cœur massage bar have delighted their recipients. The employees at this location are attentive and helpful. I did, however, feel a wee bit uncomfortable once when I came to pick out a present for another bride-to-be. I had spent the afternoon with my future MIL and she came with me to Lush. I brought my items to the counter and the woman at the register picked up on the sexual names of the soaps and then said I must have something fun planned for the evening. Normally, I'd not have been embarrassed, but my fiancé's (at the time BF's) mom was right next to me... "I had a lovely time with you. Now I'm off to bang your son with these massage oils!" Eeek! But whatever. They gave me a free sample for supposedly waiting in line for so long. One of my friends once gave me a small bottle of their Fair Trade Honey shampoo and I'm smitten. It's so expensive but it's so spectacular! I love that the smell lingers in your hair all day and a little goes a long way. I also appreciate that their items aren't tested on animals. Oh, winter. You really do a number on my skin. So dry and itchy! I've been a fan of Lush for years, back when you used to only be able to get their products via mail order or the internet. I was excited when this store opened because it was close by, but it's still Woodfield, you know? Not a big mall person, so I don't really get over there much. When I do go, it's because I'm on a mission. Anyway, the store staff managed to strike that awesome balance between being helpful and knowledgeable and not being overbearing. Fantastic! On a friendly staffer's advice, I picked up some It's Raining Men shower gel to help with the dryness. She also hooked me up with some samples of The Olive Branch shower gel (which...eh, too bergamot-y for my taste, but good to have tried it) and Dream Cream (oooooh. If I wasn't in love with my Avon Moisture Therapy lotion, I'd probably love this.) But. It's Raining Men. Hallelujah, amen, etc. The smell alone is fantastic, but rubbing it all over my poor, thirsty skin? Fabulous. I'm a relatively simple girl as far as my routines go. I don't spend a lot of time with ointments and hair stuff and whatnot. Most of the time, I don't even wear makeup. But the stuff I do use, I like to be good. If this saves me a step (you know, not bathing in useless lotion afterward), I'm quite pleased. So let's just start off by saying, that i LOVE Lush products. There is no end to my desire to spread the bounty I have found there and wax on and on about how wonderful everything is. I have been a Lush junkie forever and was supa-stoked when I got news they were opening up a store at Woodfield. Of course I went to check it out...credit card in hand. The store is cute and set up well, you get to try everything and play around, until you get mauled by the guerilla sales people. They ask such open ended questions as "Have you ever used Lush before?" I say "Yes, for a few years now." Hoping that my tone says 'please just let me look around'. But, alas, it doesn't and I am constantly being verbally assaulted by some anorexic goth chick or some hipster in buddy holly glasses and striped tights. I ended up leaving with nothing because all I wanted to do was smack the red lipstick off of the cashiers head. I must reiterate that i LOVE Lush products, they get 5 stars...but the service here, well; I feel like I should bring a machete in there to cut through the B.S. sales chicks. I like the idea of being able to pick out my own products by weight (when you shop on-line, you tend to get a smaller volume of product) but I would rather go on-line than to Lush Woodfield anyday. read more
