This review is for Joanna! She is so patient, friendly, beautiful, and such a professional. She knows her stuff! Her foundation color match was perfect. She did my makeup on my first visit, and helped me find a new gorgeous blush, taught me about blush placement (game changer), introduced a new foundation formula and how to apply it (btw it wore beautifully for the rest of the day) I walked out with several goodies as well as a list of products we tried. My second visit with her was just as amazing/satisfying. I brought in a lipstick I wanted her to match, and she nailed it. She informed me how to use the brushes I got, and we tried on an eyeshadow, and she broke down those steps too. Very thorough!! I went in this past Sunday with an appointment at 12pm. Since I needed engagement pictures done I timed it so I would have enough time for mess ups, traffic, and overall anything that could go wrong. I showed up early (11:45am) & was told I was early so I would need to wait because there was only one makeup artist on the floor. I walk around and it's now 12:05 and they sat another girl down to have her makeup done. So I walk up to the register with my mom who tells them we have an appointment and have been here since before the girl who was just sat and we need someone to help us. Well Ricky doesn't like how we reminded them of the appointment THEY made us. So he comments in the most sarcastic attitude about how then had call outs and they're short staffed so we need to wait. Anyway, just my luck Ricky does my makeup. I'm not sure if he's unaware that I actually know how to do makeup and only had it done as a convenience because I needed new foundation and lashes. But he made sure to do a joke of a job. Did not prime my face. Did not set my face with setting spray. & he made sure my natural lashes and fake lashes weren't lined up. Overall: I'll never go here again since they're uneducated of skill it requires to actually do a good job at applying makeup & I'll never purchase from MAC again after this. read more

I went to Mac because I wanted to buy makeup, I was walking around for about 5 min, I Noticed right away no one help me, I felt I was being discriminated for my looks. I have been there before looking all doll up and right away employees help me. When I paid my merchandised the Guy who help me put the lipstick on the counter with my receipt, I ask him if I could please get a bag, he replied and said "oh I am sorry we don't have any bags, to go ask Macy's for plastic bags" as I walked away the other employee was dispatching a costumer and guess what!!!!! I've been a loyal MAC customer for years now, and I have never found any other eyeliners comparable. I'll occasionally purchase some of their studio fix foundations (amazing coverage), eyeshadows (very pigmented), and lipsticks/lipglasses for mama bear. I have a fondness for this particular counter just because I had both my homecoming and prom makeup done here for free (with a purchase of $50+). Each time was a painless experience, and the girls were extremely friendly. I knew nothing about makeup back then, but they were very patient and informative. They talked me through the process, and even though it took about an hour each round, time flies because they made for easy conversation. I've also had my makeup done at the MAC counter inside Nordstrom at the Santa Anita mall, and it was a very unpleasant experience to say the least. I came out looking like freaking Shrek (cough) which goes to show that it was just a difference in skills. Even though it's a little less roomy than its Arcadia location and generally busier with girls getting their makeup done, I've never had a problem trying to buy my products. If it seems that all of their sales people are busy and no one is around to ask me what I'd like, I just walk to the register to get service. In and out of Macy's within minutes. *** MAC has implemented a recycling program known as Back to MAC. I had no idea something like this even existed, but thanks to the ladies at this counter, I can now claim at least 3 new tubes of FREE lipstick. For those of you who were not aware of this either, their website says, "Because we share your commitment to the environment, MAC accepts returns of its primary packaging through the Back to MAC Program. Extremely happy with my wedding makeup done by Diane !! It lasted throughout the entire night and I got so many compliments . I walked inside Macy's MAC on a busy Saturday afternoon without an appointment and was greeted immediately. The Artist name is Daniel, I told him I had a wedding to attend and was wondering if I can get my makeup done he was very sweet and sat me in a chair right away. I was so happy because after reading the reviews I really thought I was going to be turned away, but lucky for me I walked into the right person. I wasn't too sure what I wanted so I let him take over completely and I'm so happy I did because I LOVED it!!!!!! He explained the whole process and informed me of every product he was using along the way as well as educating me on what its used for or what it can do to my skin etc. The best customer service I've ever had at a MAC counter. So starting with my first experience, it was on a monday around 1pm, usually the mall is slow atvthis time, but apparently Mac was pretty busy, i walked in & looked around for a couple minutes. I was completely ignored, the employees would just walk right past me. I only saw about 2 girls working that shift, & about 15 customers, i highly recommend that they place more employees per shift! Eventually i got tired of waiting & feeling stupid, so i ended up buying my foundation at the Bobbi Brown store right next door. Based on my second attempt, it was today (Wednesday) around 3 pm (again, usually the mall is slow at this time) i walked in & luckily was the only customer at the time. I greeted by some girl with short black hair, who was very welcoming. I bought my miracle powder & left satisfied & with a smile. I had my wedding makeup done a couple of weeks ago (yup! Just now writing a review as I was away on my honeymoon). The young woman, Crystal or Krystle, did such a fabulous job making me look beautiful on my wedding day. I was a little nervous because it was a last minute decision to get my makeup done at a counter but lo and behold, my artist does professional makeup on the side! I always come in and work with Denise, she's very attentive and very helpful as well as sweet. However, I went in on Tuesday and got help from Ricky who was also awesome! I got all of my essentials in the perfect tone and everything. I came back Thursday and worked with another girl, I think her name was Sara? Kinda rude at first then she became helpful. Overall experience here is four stars. ONLY because they're sold out of my favorite colors of lipstick and liner and they're not sure when they'll be getting them again. I've been going to the MAC counter at the Macy's in Montebello for years.. I recently went a few weeks ago, I always book my makeovers with the sexy beautiful and talented makeup artist DENISE.. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and talented , she is extremely sweet! She answers all my questions and goes the extra mile to make sure I am completely satisfied with my look.. She also offers suggestions, tips and follows up with me which I absolutely love! When she was done with my final look, I walked around the Macy's to continue my shopping. I happen to walk by the Urban Decay counter and a few of the Urban Decay makeup artists were very impressed! One of them asked "the MAC girls did it"? I said.. YES Denise! I seriosly love buying makeup from Mac.... however this experience left me sour to the brim!!! I was patiently shopping at the Mac station when three different workers passed by and told me "hold on I will be right with you" exactly a minute apart. I literally only needed a blush!!! How hard is that?!! ..so I patiently waited about 6-7 minutes to get help. It started to seem like my money was not good enough for Mac. After that I basically just got tired of waiting and left. Hate this place. I've been twice. Both times screwed up customer service. I was not greeted. Instead, I had to interrupt two of their workers that were casually chitchatting in the middle of the store! Both times, they recommended the wrong color. Sold me product that was totally off. This location inside the mall is very small but all of their stores are really small...it always gets super packed due to the fact that its inside a mall! But i usually shop early in the mornings to avoid the crowds. Anyways I love the fact that you can use your Macy's gift card since it is inside of Macys.
