She listened to what I wanted (natural look without seeming overdone), was very self sufficient, came prepared with all of the necessary tools, and was very enjoyable to work with. She is more affordable compared to other hair/makeup places I looked at, and really outdid herself. I felt like a princess on my wedding day thanks to Jen! 5-SECOND REVIEW: Jen and her team are great at what they do, punctual, precise, and very affordable. 5-MINUTE REVIEW: My wife and I were referred to Jen via two unrelated sources [both brides], both raving about how good a job Jen and her team did for them and their bridesmaids. So, naturally, when multiple sources agree on something, we decided to give her a shot. For the trial, Jen had tried two different styles, one for each half of the face - one application being a lighter, more natural look, the other being a bit more heavy duty, trying out different shades and tones. When I laid eyes upon my then fiancee, I thought I was looking at an Asian celebrity. She went from beautiful to HOT! On wedding day, Jen and her team showed up early and, within moments, started work on our bridesmaids like a heist team [think Ocean's 11]. Everybody had a role, they knew how to do it and how to execute every aspect of their duties, no fluff, no time wasted, just straight to the work, while still smiling and maintaining friendly, casual conversations. My wife typically does not wear makeup, so we were afraid that, on wedding day, she would have cake-up. Fortunately for all of us, that was not the case. Jen made her and all of our bridesmaids look very natural, while accentuating all of the ladies' best features. Our mothers, who are also non-makeup-wearers, looked absolutely dazzling, while still preserving a very natural look. Did I mention they were quick? Yeah - they were quick. With regards to the hair, it retained it's look throughout the whole day [we're talking August heat - not exactly 72F with intermittent clouds, people], through the heat, the ceremony, dancing around, multiple hugs with people hitting the hair - yeah, it was durable and long-lasting. The makeup held up throughout the ceremony and needed very minor and gentle touch-ups just before the reception dinner. As other reviewers had written, Jen is helpful, flexible, pretty good about responding in a timely manner, and extremely accommodating. As a happy husband of a beautiful wife that had gone with Jen and her team, I thank Jen for the excellent work and great quality she provided us. I recently volunteered myself for a photo shoot for a friend who needed help on his portfolio. Jennifer was the makeup magician who transformed me from looking frumpy to fabulous. Let's be real here, I'm no model, and my photographer friend is not a professional (yet), so I was all he could afford at the rate of free.99. But with Jennifer's magic, I for damn sure looked like a model (or cheerleaduh, so pritty) that day. On the morning of the photo shoot, Jennifer had everything out and ready to go, and I have to say, she was very efficient in everything she was doing. An hour had passed and she was practically done with hair and makeup. Another great thing about Jennifer is that she's very easy to talk to. I felt like I was having a catch up sesh with a girlfriend from college, all while getting my hair and makeup did. And during the photo shoot, she was here and there, making sure flyaway strands of hair were getting smoothed away and patting down my oily t-zone with powder. After the photo shoot was over, Jennifer was nice enough to undo my up-do and fix my hair so that I could just go out for the night without having to redo my whole look. It was very easy to get into contact with her, and she responds very quickly. She is also very affordable for the amazing quality of work that she does. After a conversation with her, you'll realize that she is extremely knowledgeable about makeup and hair, and is very well trained. For my engagement photo session, we basically had the bridal trial makeup and hair. At the end of the trial, she took the extra time to dismantle my updo and curled my hair so that it wouldn't look identical to my hair for the day-of.
