Highly recommend this hair salon! I've been looking for a hair salon near East LA/MP to get my hair bleached/colored and I finally found my go to! I called on a Friday morning for a balayage appointment and they were able to get me in the next day on a Saturday at 11am. On the morning of the appointment, parking was easy and free. I was a couple minutes (2-3 mins) late to my appointment because I had a little bit of a challenge finding the spot. For those visiting, it's located down the middle hallway, on the left side behind daikokuya! Once I checked in at the front desk desk, they let me know to sit down in the front waiting area and that my stylist will be ready in 10 min. I got seated to do a hair consultation before getting started and I really appreciate how she walked me through every step and told me that she wants to prioritize the health of my hair. She was realistic with how light I can get my hair and made recommendations based off my hair type. She also let me know that the entire process would take at least 5 hours. After 2-3 rounds of bleach and 5.5 hours later, I got exactly what I wanted. Throughout my entire experience, she checked in on me and asked if I was comfortable. They offered me snacks and drinks every hour or so to make sure I wasn't hungry through the long stay which was very kind of them. For those curious, I paid $375 total for my hair service. I got a neutral blonde balayage done on my previously bleached/dyed hair and I have medium/long hair length. P.S. for their card machine, they only accept visa and Mastercard. I tried to use a discover credit card and had a bit of a hiccup but was able to pay via Apple Pay. read more

This is my new go-to place!! I've been to salons in k-town, culver city, and downtown but this one is one of my favorites. I called Saturday morning and even with a busy schedule they were able to fit me in with an appointment with Billy. I arrived on time and there was no wait. I have bleached/dyed damaged hair and wanted a long layers cut. Billy took such great care of me -- we spent the first 5 minutes making sure what length I wanted my hair to be (this is much appreciated since I've had barbers cut my hair WAY shorter than originally discussed because they think it's best for my damaged hair). He was so fun to be around and he knows what he's doing! He's also the first barber to not try and get me to buy a store's product, and really cared about my hair and the importance of blow drying for a healthy look. Overall my haircut cost $55 without tip, which included 1.5 hours of shampooing, cutting, and styling. He took his time with my hair to make sure I was happy with the end result. I have been trying different hair salon around this area. Price varies quite much, $10~$50 for men's haircut. When it costs $10, no matter what I get, I should not complain. If it costs $50, i naturally have higher expectation than usual. Men's haircut at Chez Moi costs $50, which I actually did not know when i visited. At the end, i believe it deserves. I went there with my son (a bit cheaper for my son), and Jenny and Demi took care of our hair. Both were professional. Jenny understood what i exactly wanted and i got my hair nicely, and my son told me 'i love this hairshop!!!!' Vicki did a phenomenal job!!! I called ahead and was able to be seen within 20 minutes. I told Vicki I had a project for her since I'm a wavy/curly gal and my ends are suffering from heat damage (about 2 inches. Ends are straight while rest of hair curls). I wanted a tiny trim and layers so that I can start cutting my ends little by little to retain length but revive my curls. She did straighten it to make sure my hair was even but applied an amazing heat protectant and gave me advice on protecting my hair from heat. 1000% recommend. The salon is super cute though hidden away in what looks like a deserted shopping center. My hair feels oh so healthy and I'm loving the layers!!! I was able to make an appt day of on a Saturday. I was running late and they were very understanding and nice about it. Henry is fantastic! I showed him a couple inspiration photos and we settled on what would look best as well as what would work since I'm very low maintenance when it comes to hair (read: I rarely brush it and never blow dry). The conversation throughout the shampoo and cut seemed really natural, and I enjoyed getting to know him. I was in a but of a rush to go to dinner so I appreciated that he worked very efficiently to get me in and outta there. The haircut was $60 plus tip. If you pay with credit card, there's a 3% processing fee. You can pay with cash, Venmo, or Zelle to not incur and fees. If I told you the number one mission of my LA trip was to get a haircut, you better believe me! I had not cut my hair since the beginning of the pandemic so it looked horrendously long and out of shape. However, I made the bad decision of going to a friend during the pandemic and long story short, I had to get my cut and color fixed. I understood when they said they may not be able to get my hair light enough and that I might have to settle for purple or pink but at some point the communication kind of stopped. I asked for a 90s butterfly cut with some face framing and she even told me that it's important to style my hair with this cut, otherwise it will look choppy, and I said that was OK and we moved forward. Found this salon on Yelp, one of the most and highest reviewed within the area. I walked in on NYE afternoon without an appointment and they got me a stylist right away. Jenny sat me down at a station and had me put my things away. She guided me to a changing room where I got a robe and ha my jacket there. She washed my hair and asked me how I take care of my hair. She offered water, tea or coffee. I told her I wanted to cut my ends and layer my hair, she took her time and did an amazing job. She even styled it with curls for me. Vicki was honest from the beginning and explained that since I had dyed my hair black, it would be hard to strip the black color and dye it over but she'd try her best. I was pretty surprised that for this time of year (New Year's Eve), the potential for most salons having any same day openings would be next to nothing. However, I was able to get scheduled same day for the infamous Henry. He didn't know it, but I was walking with very high expectations based on what I read here. Like skyscrapers. Henry was very friendly, listened to what I was going for and incorporated my needs into my styling. When he was finished, he showed that, beyond my expectations, he cut my hair in a way that gave me options on how I wanted to wear it. Parking is usually easy to find aside from peak hours. -They color, cut, and do treatments on Hair. -All the girls there know what they're doing. Pricing is a little bit higher but reasonable for the work they do. -They do speak English, mandarin, Cantonese . So I don't trust anyone in my hair. I've had a hair stylist turn my hair pandan green before and it was a DISASTER because I asked for ash blonde. ): I found chez moi and seeing all the reviews and pictures I decided to try to take my chances. And I'm so glad I did. I didn't ask for a specific stylist and I ended up with Vicky on a random Tuesday. She's my favorite ever since. She asked me for my history of my hair and all the disasters other stylists and even myself has put my hair through and as you will see in the pictures she gave me exactly what I wanted. The thing with hair is, it will look a certain way when you get it done, and it can also change the more you wash it. And keeping that in mind, Vicky finally gave me the ash blonde I've always wanted in a day without breakage. She does use olaplex as well and moroccan oil to treat the hair once its washed. Honestly, just give a call and ask for her. She will get you the right color you want. I also referred my friend here who had a whack hair job from another hair place (that I won't mention in this review) and had to be color corrected and she was super happy with what Vicky did for her. read more
