They have a pretty decent selection and brands of Asian, mostly Japanese beauty products here. No, it's not as new or organized like Shibuyala or Takashima, but it has its own charm to it, especially their decor and display of goods. They do have sales intermittently, making a good number of their items priced at a lower point than the aforementioned competitors I listed above. I've gotten the same Japanese brand eyeliners for $10 here when it's usually $8-10 more elsewhere. I've been to this store a couple times and they have a membership which offers a point system and deals (I believe), but my most recent visit has their weeklong Black Friday sale where it's BOGO 50% off. Not only do they have cosmetics but they have a lot of home goods (think imported Japanese Starbucks mugs and tumblers), snacks, and so many cute things. They have so much Duffy and Friends goods from Disney Asia, Universal Studios Japan goods, Sanrio and San-X goods that I haven't seen in our general shops here, Chiikawa, and they even have kuji raffle prize goods and blind boxes too. Staff is friendly and polite each time I've gone, but they for sure are vigilant watching people but they're not following you around. Great place to stop and shop or just to peruse the goods they have there.

I rather take my business elsewhere now that there are SO MUCH MORE Asian skincare options in SGV now, and there is really no need to shop at a place that treats customers poorly. I have had decent experiences in the past with some workers who genuinely are helpful, but the past few times have been terrible (some mention it's towards the night, but I've had similar experiences during the day). Unfortunately, most of the workers are EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. If there are multiple, they will be chatting amongst themselves. If it's just one, they are usually on their phone. They do not acknowledge you, and they make you feel terrible if you have to ask a question. Personally, I am someone who do not mind if there is no greeting or if they come up to ask if you need assistance, but if I am only here to grab-and-go what I know and need... they still give you an attitude! I do not get it because *I* try to be nice and polite, but why are they so rude? Takashima used to have good control over the Asian beauty space in SGV as a trusted retailer, but SO many stores have opened up over the years, major commercial retailers have now started to carry affordable Asian beauty/skincare options, and online is much more accessible now. As someone who purchases quite a bit of Asian skincare and make-up and always recommend friends places, this is not on my list anymore.

A few weeks ago, my youngest daughter said she was out of the Pokeman Lip Cream. Well, she told me this after I came back from Las Vegas LOL. So, I had to seek out the lip cream elsewhere that is closer to home. Luckily, there is a Shibuyala in Temple City, CA. YAY! So here I am... what a fun + colorful place to find cosmetics and beauty stuff! The lady staff was super nice and lovely. I didn't waste any time. I asked and I shall receive. The lady knew exactly what I was looking for. She led me to the lip creams immediately. I bought 3 of them. They are $11 a pop... a bit pricey, but hey, our lips deserve tender loving care, too. My daughter was very pleased and so was I. We now don't have to wait until our next Las Vegas trip to get amazing & moisturizing lips LOL. Funny, I was informed this shop has been here for over 10 years LOL. I guess if you don't look, you won't find. I will be back from here on out now that I know they are in So Cal. Let's all beautify today!

Ivy promptly told me about a buy one get one special they were running for sheet masks, and when I lingered at a product display for a few moments she quickly began explaining what the product was used for and what kind of skin it suited. For reference, I'm not Asian, so I can't read many of the labels on the products in the store. But ivy speaks fantastic English and didn't mind telling me about the brands and ingredients. I chose a cleanser meant for sensitive skin and she recommended a few other products as well. She wasn't pushy but urged me to come buy and try others as I finished the skincare I already had at home. She had a pile of samples ready for me at the register when I was ready to checkout, and when my husband pointed out the skincare set I had at home she began asking me how I liked it and if it was working well for me. When I mentioned my disappointment with the eye cream that came with my Ohui skin set she recommended a different brand and proceeded to LOAD my bag with samples of it. This is one of the chief reasons I love stores like this, you can buy one item and walk out with a bag full of stuff. She gave me a huge sample of shampoo I'd been wanting to try, you can't beat that kind of service! I felt really welcome here, and the service I received was fantastic. I will definitely return to purchase the cream she recommended. Such a great little shop.

Their Black Friday flyer clearly said "Purchase $59 - Get Free Lucky Box." There were no conditions listed, no "after discount," no "single transaction," nothing. But after purchasing $59 worth of items (before their 20% sale), the staff suddenly invented new conditions on the spot -- none of which appear in the advertisement. When asked where these terms were printed, they couldn't point to anything and said "it was obvious." Under California's false advertising law (Bus. & Prof. Code §17500), you cannot enforce undisclosed conditions on a promotional offer. When my friend brought this up, the staff became defensive, refused to provide anything in writing, and insisted the manager "could only discuss it in person or over the phone," which is extremely suspicious behavior for what should be a simple, straightforward promotion. The entire interaction feels dishonest. Instead of correcting the issue, they stalled, evaded, and repeatedly refused written communication. This should tells you everything you need to know. If a store can't honor its own flyer as printed, that's a serious problem. Shoppers deserve transparency, not bait-and-switch tactics. I hope people avoid this location until they learn how to advertise honestly and treat customers with basic professionalism.

They said they lock it because sometimes they get too busy. And given the climate of theft at stores these days I don't blame them. Staff was very nice and courteous. They made lots of suggestions asking what we might be looking for. The shop is a hodge podge of Asian imports from snacks to toys and carries a lot of beauty products. It was really messy in there and not much rhyme and reason to what they stocked in terms of toys. I found quite a few items I've never seen before especially little Sanrio plushies (I bought 3). Picked up an anime figure from Attack on Titan too and my husband bought some snacks and mints. If I were already using the beauty products I might buy them here but most of the signs and descriptions are in Chinese so I don't know what the stuff is. Another odd thing is I didn't see many price tags on things so we had to keep asking the staff about how much each thing costs. Sometimes I think they were just making it up. Will probably stop by again when in the area to support them. For us it'll just be a little treasure hunting store.

My friends always recommend Laneige, but never had the chance to actually go to an Amore store until yesterday. While my aunt shopped for her Sulwhasoo products (both makeup and skincare), I browsed through their multiple Laneige lines that include their basic skincare line, brightening/whitening, water line for hydration, radiance, and the likes. The hydration section caught my eye since I'm a sucker for hydrated, supple skin. The sales associated was very informative, and told me about each line, it's usage, and what each product's purpose is. She never pushed me to buy anything. Rather, she informed and insisted that I take a few samples if I'm still deciding. As I was still deciding, I turned around and saw their whitening line. Recently, I've been really obsessed with the color of my skin and been avoiding the sun as much as possible. I was told that Laneige's whitening line is new. It didn't help that they had cute packaging either. I ended up getting their whitening serum, which came with a mini travel size day serum, face cream, eye cream, and toner. As promised, the sales associate gave me samples of products I was eyeing earlier: one that melts blackheads and a mask. She gave me 7 samples! SEVEN! I definitely liked that they weren't stingy with samples. Also, make sure to sign up for their membership. Every dollar spent is a point added to your account. You get 100 points free on your first purchase. After accumulating 300 points, you get a $10 discount! Winning Y^___^Y
