Randomly came here after having Korean BBQ next door. The gate was closed the whole time so we weren't sure if they were open or whatnot but they invited us in so we went to take a look. They said they lock it because sometimes they get too busy. And given the climate of theft at stores these days I don't blame them. Staff was very nice and courteous. They made lots of suggestions asking what we might be looking for. The shop is a hodge podge of Asian imports from snacks to toys and carries a lot of beauty products. It was really messy in there and not much rhyme and reason to what they stocked in terms of toys. I found quite a few items I've never seen before especially little Sanrio plushies (I bought 3). Picked up an anime figure from Attack on Titan too and my husband bought some snacks and mints. If I were already using the beauty products I might buy them here but most of the signs and descriptions are in Chinese so I don't know what the stuff is. Another odd thing is I didn't see many price tags on things so we had to keep asking the staff about how much each thing costs. Sometimes I think they were just making it up. Will probably stop by again when in the area to support them. For us it'll just be a little treasure hunting store. read more

I had a really great experience shopping here with my teenage daughter. The door was locked when we got there, but it was clearly opened, and I didn't feel like it was a big deal. I completely understand, they want to keep the store secure. The girl who helped us was super sweet and helped us right away. She spent a lot of time showing us new makeup and helping my daughter sample different colors. They have a great mix of beauty products, snacks, and cute collectibles, all at very reasonable prices. I had to stop myself from browsing too long because I would've bought way more than I planned. Happy to support a local business like this. I'd definitely go back. read more

The store is supposed to open at 12 PM, but we had to wait for the manager to arrive, and she still wasn't there. We stood outside for 15 minutes, and she still hadn't shown up. I honestly don't understand what time this store is actually supposed to open. It was a really terrible experience read more

I understand that there is a lot of theft in the past few years. However, this place is extremely racist and the girls also follow you around every aisle. As a fellow Asian they did that to me, however when the girls stopped following me when I went over to my mom who does have the Asian stereotype. The prices at this cosmetic store is reasonable, but they do need to do better. read more

The front desk lady always has a bad attitude and a long face. It's a retail store, but they act like it's a private club--you can only enter when they feel like it. I'm not interested in coming back again. Worst place ever. Don't bother coming. Apparently it's "appointment only" shopping which seems odd considering it's a physical store? Like why bother paying rent for a store front and not let people in to shop?? And they didn't bother explaining how to make appointments either. There are PLENTY of other shops with the same products. You're probably better off there. read more

Best customer service ever, feeling welcomed in San Gabriel. Other Asian stores I've gone to buy products they are rude and follow me around as if I would steal something. Showing me around to more products was nice and welcoming! I will be back, this is what shopping should feel like. read more

One of the best beauty shopping experiences I've had in San Gabriel. The staff is friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I never felt rushed or judged. They took the time to show me different products based on what I was looking for. Highly recommend! read more

We get there and the door was locked. Employee came to us and asked us if we had an appointment. We did not have one. She was like Appointments only and walked away. Did not even try to explain to us how you to make an appointment then this other girl came in at the same time. unfortunately we did not understand her, but let her in and didn't even verify that she made an appointment. The employee just gave her a basket. We were shocked. they are discriminating and picking a choosing who they want to let in. read more

Much like Beauty Corner's Rowland Heights location, their instance on keeping their stores "Appointment Only" is discriminatory and insular. They want you to think that anyone without a WeChat account is unable to make an appointment, but that's simply not true. When I told the sales woman behind the locked gate that I do in fact have WeChat and would like to make an appointment for the same day, she insisted that she's just "too busy" and there's simply no way to make an appointment. She then insisted that I "go down the street to Takashima, because it's great and you don't need an appointment!" I'm sorry, but what small business tells potential customers to go to their rival business? Beauty Corner is a sad excuse for a business. read more

I have been to Beauty Corner several times before without issues in the past but this time they said I could only enter the store if I had an appointment. The store was empty people-wise at this time except for the employees. I asked how I could make an appointment. They pointed me to the QR codes posted on the door and left. Unfortunately the QR codes led me to sites that were written in Chinese so I couldn't even access the appointment page. Even if I looked past their poor service and wanted to shop there, I couldn't :( Cleary there is a certain target audience that they only want shopping at their store. read more

I didn't have an appointment, but they let me in and I guess I was lucky. Really good customer service. Good prices (slightly higher than prices you would get in Japan). I bought Sanrio Lactic Acid concentrate drinks for $5.99 which I loved, Pikachu Softymo oil cleanser for $10.99, JM Solution 10 pack masks for $10, and cute Sanrio notebooks. read more

Last time I was here which would be a year ago they would let people in to shop around. I decided to come back because I was nearly out of shampoo and this was the closest place to me that had the shampoo I was looking for. I ended up being met with a closed door and one of the employees mentioning that I had to make an appointment. An appointment was never needed before I guess people can't just walk around the store to see what they want to purchase. read more

Service staff has a bad attitude！ Strongly recommend not to go！I have lived in the SG valley for more than ten years. For the first time I wrote a review, I was very responsible！ read more

Amazing! Went in with a few specific beauty issues, and got some amazingly effective products that solved them!! I wasn't expecting anything fully to work, but they did! Found a few other cute things, too, and even snacks. Super happy with the service and product recommendations. 10/10! read more

My boyfriend and I went shopping here today and, admittedly, I was confused because when we got there the door/gate was closed but their hours said it was open. I ask the lady that was there if they were open and she said they work by appointment only. I was confused and asked how we could do that and they instructed us to scan the QR code. Honestly, I agree with some of the reviews, it was a bite tedious and annoying especially since we were running short on time. BUT, after trying to do the appointment thing and failing, I asked the lady if she could help us out with the app since we didn't know how it works. She was able to help us and the service was great! Honestly I thought at first that they weren't letting us in because we're Hispanic but once I started talking to her a bit more she was really nice! I know some people were saying things about the workers following you like if you're going to be stealing something (which even if you wanted to, you can't they have a safety gate that they make sure to lock and unlock), and at first I kind of felt like that too but we know who we are and aren't going to get offended by that, the thing is that everything is in Korean or Japanese because it's imported from there. I'm mean literally EVERYTHING! I thought it was nice that the lady was following us around at the beginning and she was making sure that we were okay and finding the products that we needed. She even recommend some things and encouraged us to try products that are trending. We were initially there for my boyfriend to get him on a skincare routine since I had already ordered my products on a website. But had I known about this place sooner, I would have waited!! They have great prices AND products! And don't even get me started on the snacks ‍ Anyway, we were laughing and joking around with the same lady that was helping us and made it a point to say we'd definitely come back. I don't think the appointment thing is a big deal. Just get it over with and you can go in, at the end of our shopping I thought it was 100% worth the tedious process of being able to get in. We left very happy and excited to come back and try different products! read more

Cute store but the girls that work here made me feel so unwanted and just not welcome to their store. They made faces and pointed fingers and whisper about me. They were just plain rude. I really would not recommend this store for anyone who is not asian or asian enough read more

As soon as i walked in, an employee immediately asked if i needed help. I asked if she had any recommendations for a sensitive face cream - the employee said "we don't have any creams like that" and kept following me around the store. A whole store with no products for sensitive skin? At first i thought she was being helpful until she began following me around and watching my every move. The employee made it extremely uncomfortable to shop, so I left. Never coming here again. I'll purchase my Japanese products elsewhere. read more

The workers are ok. When asked, they helped me find a good product in my budget. However, they made me feel VERY uncomfortable the way they followed me around the store. Sometimes I just want to browse but I can't because they're RIGHT THERE following my every move. It's quite embarrassing (for them) how there are so many reviews about them following people around and I'm not the only who feels this way! They should really stop that. I tried to come here a second time and realized, it's just straight up UNCOMFORTABLE the way they follow me. There are other beauty stores available in the area where the employees aren't overbearing. read more

This shop needs an appointment to shop here. I went there last week and they told me that I have to get an appointment. Don't go there!

Do not support this business! Unfortunately all the other reviews are true. Tried to shop here 2 weeks ago only to be met by a locked metal gate and a woman stating that they were closed, even though their store business hours said otherwise. Genuinely wanted to shop here and added it to my list of places to visit next time. So today was the day and admittedly, I did not read all the reviews which I now regret. I live in the South Bay and made a trip to shop for items to gift to loved ones. When I asked the staff if they were open she got up and stated they were by appointment only. Mind you, there was not a single soul in the place. When I kindly asked if an appointment can be made today (since I drove pretty far) she said I could scan the code on the door to download 'WeChat'. Very confusing and unorganized, so I gave up and decided that a business that operates this way doesn't deserve my time or money. Based on the owners response to other reviews, I know I made the right decision. I can understand their reasoning behind their business model, however with technology, there are so many ways to communicate with non-English speaking individuals. read more

I really LIKED coming here it was a bit uncomfortable because they'll track your every move but it was fine I suppose. However last week I went and they didn't let me go in they said I needed an appointment to go in. Idk any places that make you book an appointment to shop it's ridiculous, due to the history this place has of following people around their store it's making me think it's a race thing especially because you see the difference they treat someone who isn't Korean and someone who is. Save your time and money and go to the other Korean store that's down the street from them. read more

Honesly the best service ever, with amazing prices. for the people that has been complaining about the employees following you- they are not following you because they think you are stealing, they are following you from a safe distance just to make sure it you have any questions they will be able to answer, since everything is imported from Japan or South Korea. If you think they are following you because they think you are stealing, maybe you should ask yourself why. Anyway, I usually get my sunscreen spray imported from Japan directly, and I usually pay 25$ for a tiny bottle excluding shipping. It's the sunscreen spray that smells like cherry blossoms and acts as a make up setting spray. Absolutely amazing because it hydrates your skin without being oily. Here they sell it for 15 a bottle! What?! They open around noon-1pm, the service here is absolutely awesome and the lady hooked it up with a huge discount on my overall order as well if you give them your WeChat infor so they can send you more promotions. They also have the hand foam soap that comes out as a flower, like the once you've seen on tictok. They also have the Japan kitty treats my kitten loves. read more

The staff are very annoying and kept following me. I felt so uncomfortable .

WOW! I couldn't agree anymore with the other comments. Was waiting for our table at Korean BBQ and wanted to check out this beauty store. I was going inside with the intent to purchase some sort of eye cream or eye patches for puffy eyes. Got greeted when I walked in, a girl asks do you need help with anything? I said no thank you, just looking. She followed me in every single aisle. EVERY SINGLE AISLE! Did she think I was going to steal something? Little did she know the two people I was with are in law enforcement. Will never go back inside that place. I predict it closing very soon due to lack of personality and making people feel like they are being watched like criminals. read more

We felt we got ripped off. Exact same items are way cheaper in the other beauty store within 5 mins walk. We decided to return the items that we purchased 30 mins ago. They said No cuz of a line of words on the receipt said no return. What?!! Brand new overpriced item and just purchased 30 mins ago cannot be returned. Ridiculous! Not happy with it. Stay away from this shop! read more

Don't shop here. Was sold old product. I didn't find out until I was an hour away because of traffic. They followed me around like I was gonna steal. Mind you I'm a guy wearing a fitted shirt and skinny jeans. You could see the outline of my wallet in my back pocket. Never felt more harassed and to find out I paid for expired products, just made me really upset. Do yourself a favor don't shop here. And when I tried to call they don't answer calls. read more

Please don't go here!! Honestly I should've checked the reviews before I got here but I was dying to look for some hair oil because my hair has been so dry and everywhere I looked has sold out of a specific brand I was looking for. I showed up expecting to buy something and was met with a metal gate. I thought that it shouldn't be too big of a deal since they previously opened the gate for people that want to shop here. When I tried to open it I was met by a staff member and she said that I either had to have an appointment or schedule a pick up by wechat. This seemed so outrageous to me as I previously went to this establishment and bought items here. This staff member proceeded to give me a side eye or a disgusted face and walked away without even telling me how to book an appointment. There was only one customer in there with a store stocked with items and it really seemed like they had a target audience they only want to attend to. It is ridiculous how I would have to have an appointment to shop here considering it's such a small shabby store. I would never support this place again! read more

Stopped by this store while I was waiting to be seated at boiling point located in the same Plaza. I was hoping to find some masks and moisturizer but was unable to. I was in the store for no more than 5 minutes because the employees made me uncomfortable. Right when we walked in we were greeted immediately that's usually a good sign right? Wrong. The girl came up and said "hello what you need?" I told her I'm not sure yet I just want to look around first. She just stared at me. Strange, but I brushed it off thinking maybe she was waiting for me to ask her a question. I then started to walk to the mask section and realized that she was following me, watching my every move. Everytime I picked up an item to try and read it she came closer to me, as if I was about to run out of the store with it. I quickly knew this wasn't somewhere I want to shop at and left. Don't bother with this place, there are many other beauty stores that don't make you uncomfortable. read more
