From the beginning, she made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. For MONTHS leading up to the wedding, I would randomly text her with changes, questions, thoughts, etc., and she was always so sweet, responsive and accommodating. She never once made me feel like I was being annoying or overstepping which, as a bride, means more than you know! And it wasn't just me. My entire bridal party was literally shouting from the rooftops about how beautiful Jackie made everyone look and, more importantly, feel. One of my MOHs told me this was the first time she had ever gotten her makeup done as part of a bridal party and didn't feel like she needed to go back and change or fix anything herself afterward. My other MOH was SO impressed, she told me she had never felt that beautiful before and received more compliments that night than she ever has in her life. Hearing that from the women closest to me made me even happier with my decision to have Jackie there. What really sets Jackie apart is her range. I personally wanted to look like myself, just more snatched, polished and elevated and she absolutely nailed it. But at the same time, she was able to create much more glamorous looks on other members of my bridal party and execute those just as beautifully. It is SO hard to find an artist who can do both and tailor their work to the individual person rather than giving everyone the same face. I've worked with makeup artists professionally for over 15 years through my career, so I know when someone truly has the knowledge, technical skill and creative eye -- and Jackie has all of that, plus what I can only describe as God-given talent. She knows how to work with different faces, skin tones, races, hair types, personal styles and needs and make each person look like the absolute best version of themselves. Jackie is truly talented in every sense of the word, but beyond that, she is the kind of person you WANT around you on your wedding day. She is warm, patient, calming and genuinely cares about making everyone feel beautiful. I cannot recommend her enough. Choosing Jackie was one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my wedding, and I will DEFINITELY find a way to work with her again in the future.

I'm disappointed with how this booking & communicated was handled. I booked a makeup appointment…read moretwo weeks in advance and sent a $145 deposit, then needed to cancel less than 24 hours after booking. Before or after sending payment, I was never told the deposit was nonrefundable. I did not sign a contract, receive a cancellation policy, or book through a website where those terms were disclosed. When I asked if the deposit could be returned, I was told that she does not return deposits. I understand businesses can have cancellation policies, but I believe a nonrefundable deposit policy should be clearly communicated before payment is accepted. I explained that I was never made aware of that policy beforehand and asked if there could be any flexibility since I canceled so quickly and the appointment was still about two weeks away. I have not received a response. Instead multiple texts ignored. My issue is not that a business has rules around deposits. My issue is being held to a policy that was never disclosed to me before I paid. Clear communication and transparency around deposits should happen if a client sends money. If it's before or after details should be enclosed. That way no one waste time asking for something they already were disclosed! JUST TO CLARIFY: The $145 deposit was paid on August 12th and the photoshoot was scheduled for August 26th. That is two weeks, not one week. I have the photographer's booking information confirming the date. At this point, what concerns me even more is being given information that does not match the actual booking details. If a business is going to enforce a nonrefundable policy, I believe the facts surrounding the booking should at least be represented accurately. You also got two texts, not multiple. A professional company owner would reply back, not ignore and reply on yelp lying about dates. I'd also like to add that the reason I chose to leave this review is because instead of trying to resolve the issue with me as a customer, my messages were ultimately ignored. I was never told from the beginning that the $145 deposit was nonrefundable, and no written policy, agreement, or booking terms stating that were ever provided to me before I paid. If your business is centered around making women feel comfortable and beautiful, especially pregnant women and brides, I think professionalism, honesty, and communication should be a major part of that experience. Being difficult over an undisclosed policy and then choosing not to communicate further left a very negative impression. For anyone considering booking, I would strongly recommend getting every deposit, cancellation, and refund policy clearly in writing beforehand. The lack of transparency professionalism, honesty and communication are what concerned me most about this experience. I've never met a business owner who keeps your money and is dishonest about all details. Do what's right if you truly cared about your business and future client's.

In terms of the actual makeup and hair styles - The amount of care and detail Michelle has for her craft really comes through. I did a trial with her before my wedding day, and we started the trial based off the inspirations I sent her. However, as we all know every girl's feature is different and the makeup style may work on one person but not the other, and, Michelle really takes this into consideration. As the trial went on, she would explain and adjust each step, making sure the style is what I'm looking for and is also fitting to me. She has glammed me up for family photos, graduation photos, weddings, and countless other special events, and she has never disappointed. Many of my events require me to be ready before sunrise, and she's met me at the crack of dawn more times than I can count--sometimes as early as 4:00 AM! Finding someone who is not only willing to do that but also brings such positive energy that early in the morning is priceless. Her studio is so cozy and welcoming that it honestly feels like you're hanging out with a good friend while getting pampered. The conversation always flows naturally, and the entire experience is relaxing and fun instead of rushed or stressful. I also love that she's collaborative. I'll usually bring inspiration photos, and she'll work with me to create a look that fits my style while offering her professional input. She really listens to what you want and somehow makes it even better. And let's talk about how well her work lasts! At my most recent appointment in April for a family wedding, my hair and makeup were finished between 4:00 and 6:00 AM. I then drove from the Rowland Heights area all the way to Las Vegas, spent the entire day and evening celebrating, and my hair and makeup still looked amazing by the end of the night. No touch-ups, no worrying--it held up beautifully through a very long day. Michelle is incredibly talented, dependable, and genuinely one of the sweetest people you'll meet. I've had makeup artists look at my reference photos and give me something completely different, so I felt very heard and respected in my wishes. My mom does not wear makeup (like ever) and English isn't her first language, but Nathaly was really friendly and still made her feel very comfortable as she was doing her makeup. It was the best thing I have ever done. This place was referred by a friend that has been with one of their beauty technician Coco, who also works at their other location in Alhambra. I am pretty picky when it comes to facial service because most places would leave me scars or redness during extraction and just doesn't seem fit to my skin type. So I was very happy to found this place. None the less with Coco. She was very patience and detail oriented. She make sure everything is alright before moving forward. She also does this very unique Chinese "gua Sha" (scraping lightly on the shoulder back and towards the head) method as part of their detox facial. It was always very relaxing. The whole facial takes about 1.5- 2 hours, and cost $100. I think it is very reasonable with some level of shoulder massage and full facial treatment. I also highly recommend their microblading service. I've also gone through this service with Coco. And as an Asian, I do think she understands a lot of Asian feature and was able to recommend a good brow shape for me. Both my mother in law and sister in law have done microblading somewhere else, only mind have last the longest in color and in shape. I have short brow and love long eye liners. So this save me a lot of time in the morning. And she even make sure I was my face normally and applied the antibiotics cream for three days to avoid inflammation. I am definitely continues to be a regular here. Tip: it's upstairs above of Hecca if you can't locate it from entering the plaza.
