Wow! Wow! Wow! Parmesan Crusted Sirloin! La Crema wine Pinot Noir! I think I hear angels singing? My son had a big milestone graduation at Ft. Benning. Had been food and sleep deprived during training (over 2 months) and all he wanted was a big fat yummy steak after graduation. We asked our favorite local waitresses and bartenders and they hands down recommended Mabella. Now I know why! 6 of us. 1 pasta dish, 1 petite Sirloin, 3 Ribeyes, and one Parmesan Crusted Sirloin. All were amazing, but everyone was jealous they didn't listen to the waitress and get the Parm. Sirloin. I listened and boy am I glad! 5 steaks cooked to perfection! Mine was the best steak I have had in my (long) life! Waitress was so attentive! My son was dehydrated and she re-filled his water glass 6 times and he never had a chance to empty it. Could not have been a better experience! Ambiance, service, perfect execution! read more

My boyfriend & I came into Mabella's on a Friday night to celebrate 3 years together. Our server, I believe her name was Yara, was so sweet. She even laughed at my boyfriend's corny jokes lol. We sat up front near the live music & it was a great atmosphere. Halfway through our meal, I notice a woman & man walk into the restaurant & the woman came in with such a sense of entitlement. I leaned over to by boyfriend & said "I bet she works here." Sure enough, as she was sitting there, many of the servers & one of the managers came up to talk to them. Unfortunately for us, she was sitting directly in front of us at the bar being a bit rowdy. She ordered a beer & was very loud and obnoxious. I have a feeling they may have visited a few bars before they stopped at Marbella's. As we were watching her in all her drunkenness, she had the audacity to say outloud something along the lines of, "if these customers knew I worked here they'd be shocked." She was right, I was actually disgusted by her blatant nonchalant attitude regarding how customers would receive her behavior, especially considering she is an employee of the establishment & represents the brand whether she is on or off the clock. Her name was Kristen. I was actually quite surprised the manager allowed her to sit at the bar carrying on like that. They left after she had her beer, but it was just so distasteful. The environment was so nice before she arrived & I just really wish I didn't have to sit through her drunk, obnoxious behavior. On the plus side, my Ribeye was AMAZING. I would still come back for the atmosphere & food...but not Kristen. definitely not her. read more

Absolutely amazing. I have eaten at this establishment on two different occasions. Both times, the service was outstanding and the quality of the food cannot be rivaled. Very professional staff, establishment clean and classy, and high quality food that is perfect. My favorite place to dine anywhere. Five stars doesn't even do it justice. Mabella's is highly favored by this West Virginia gal. read more

I believe this was the best meal we have ever eaten out at a restaurant. The steaks were so tender and the sides excellent. The best cheese cake we have had with a helping of sliced strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream. Our server (Bo) was so accommodating and made very good suggestions. Our Son is at Fort Benning and he said he will be back soon. Yum Yum! read more

VERY expensive which is ridiculous for the area. Trying to grab tourist money, while jipping the locals, perhaps. Nice atmosphere but kind of a small place. Extremely small menu! It's an Italian restaurant with no lasagna! I will say the filet mignon was the best I've ever had. read more

We have been three or four times now. Never had a bad experience. Every dish I have tasted has been beyond good. They also happen to carry Valpollicella, my favorite red wine. read more

The four of us arrived at our reserved time and were promptly seated at a nice table away from the bar. Our waitress (Tori) brought us water and took our drink order. She also brought us a nice basket of bread which was very good and fresh. We received our drink order and reviewed the menu even though we had looked over the menu at home on line so we all knew pretty much what we wanted. I had the wedge salad that was fresh and delicious. My wife had the beet salad which was very skimpy. The other couple ordered a single order of calamari which was huge. There was enough for the four of us to share. For dinner three of us had the Halibut that was prepared perfectly. The fourth ordered the ribeye steak (rare) and baked potato and he was quite happy with his dinner. Our waitress was very good checking on us occasionally and not being too intrusive. The prices were a bit high. We shall return. read more

Try to get in on a Friday evening without a reservation and you're in for at least an hour's wait. That tells you how good the food is. The last time I ate here, I had the lamb chops, which were great. The risotto was Ok, but not spectacular. I dined again a few nights ago and instead of waiting, we grabbed seats at the bar. His time I had the ribeye steak which was good ( a little trimming of the meat to get more of the fat and cartilage would have been appreciated, but it still tasted pretty good. The shaved Brussel sprouts were slightly undercooked, but as one who doesn't mind eating veggies raw, it didn't matter to me. What really mattered to me was what I saw sitting at the bar. There was a large metal container for ice, which the bartenders were using for drinks. But then one bartender loaded it up with bottles of beer from a 6 pack that had come from the kitchen! They continued to scoop ice from around the beer bottles to fill patrons water and drink glasses! It gets worse! Then one of the bartenders stuck her personal water bottle ( a sports cup) that she was drinking out of, into that same ice! I couldn't believe it. This is a big health inspection no no! I would have given 4 stars if it weren't for this. The manager needs to know and fix this problem. read more

Enjoyed one of the best steaks ever last evening. The complete balance of entree and delicious side dishes was superb.

I can't recommend this place enough! The cocktails and wines were great and the food was FANTASTIC! The servers were friendly, and despite us being a party of 12, everything came out perfectly. It's by far the best place in town to eat. My only complaint was we were sat quite close to a miserable couple who kept complaining about the noise and their salad. I guess some people are impossible to please. read more

This is absolutely the best restaurant in Columbus. Let me start with the welcoming, knowledgable, professional, and all around wonderful staff. We had several people checking on us, making suggestions, and completely enhancing the experience. These wait staff aren't just good at their jobs, they're clearly good people, and it comes through in their work. We ordered the bruschetta with goat cheese and pork with brown sugar (plus lots of other yummies!)-- it was an outstanding edible experience. The fried provolone is always excellent. We split a center cut filet, which could have been cut with a butter knife-- exquisite! The steak was simply a great piece of meat, and compliments to the chef who didn't do anything extra but let the steak be marvelous. The sides of brussel sprouts and garlic fries were sensational, and I'm sure all of the sides are! Finally, even with some very good wine, dinner was one of the more reasonable ones I've paid for in a long time. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

Was visiting from out of town and celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. A friend recommended this restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. However we were RUSHED through our meal! Noticed as we sat down (upstairs) they were getting ready for a large group behind us. Our waitress was taking our appetizers and salads off our table so quickly I wasn't even sure I was "finished" with them. We were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour. Visited 6/11/18 read more

The appetizer (prosciutto wrapped dates), garlic bread, and soup (cauliflower and garlic cream) were all really good. Our entrees weren't that good. The osso bucco especially. The duck confit pasta was decent but over salted. The service wasn't great and all of our food was rushed out to us. I was only halfway done with the soup before our entrees arrived. It's a decent restaurant but it's not a good fancy Italian steakhouse. Overpriced for what you get. Wouldn't go back. read more

One of my favorite restaurants! The food is excellant and the atmosphere is inviting and entertaining.

I came here with a large group of people during prom time. The food was good and everyone enjoyed what they got. Probably would have enjoyed it myself more if my date hadn't suggested I just get a salad (at least it was a good salad though!). read more

That cheesecake alone is enough to warrant a five star review. The steak is phenomenal, too.

I will have to say that the food was excellent and our waiter was great. However, we were there at 5:30 on Tuesday with a party of 4. We ordered a bottle of wine and our entree, which was great. At 7:00, one of the employees came to our table and explained that they were very busy and had people with reservations that had been waiting 20 minutes. She then proceeded to ask us to leave...in those words. I have been on this earth for 55 years and have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant or any establishment. Not really sure if I'll ever go back. read more

Very elegant atmosphere. Deep, rich colored wood throughout the restaurant. Food was very good. Pork loin wrapped in prosciutto was covered in heavenly tastes. Steak was good but after being a steak connoisseur I still can't find a better steak than the one in my own house. I would definitely recommend visiting this great restaurant read more

So pleased that the management and chef have reversed their decision and will now return to offering gluten free pasta options. Thank you Joe! We appreciate your sensitivity. read more

One word... WOW! This place far exceeded my expectations. We arrived for an early dinner and were seated in the bar area. The inside decor is a perfect mix of rustic and class. Our server Maddie was wonderful. We never had to ask for anything (she was spot on with timing) and she was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, personable and fun (three must haves for a successful server). Our food was impeccable and I can't say enough here. Our Caesar salads were delicious (and anchovy free which is always a plus) and the carrot ginger soup was out of this world. I also ordered a limoncello cosmopolitan and that in and of itself was something to rave about (order it and thank me later). For our main dishes we ordered the mushroom ravioli with filet and the boneless chicken breast with seasonal risotto. I wouldn't change a thing on either of these dishes. The meat was prepared exactly as it should have been and seasoned just right. The ravioli was creamy, flavorful and rich (yum) and the risotto was incredible! For dessert it was the double stacked cheesecake with fresh strawberries... Yes please!! The dining experience we had left us wanting more (but had to get home to the babies ). The manager was also incredibly kind and came to chat with us at the end of our meal. We were extremely impressed and overly satisfied with the environment, drinks, service and food. What more could you ask for? WE WILL BE BACK!!! read more

My family and I were visiting Columbus and chose Mabella on a friend's recommendation. We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated immediately upon arrival. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent and we had a wonderful evening. It's the kind of place that you can order anything on the menu and be happy. The staff was attentive, friendly, and informative. The only surprise was that an Italian restaurant of this quality doesn't make their own pasta (I asked two of the staff to be sure). For that reason I did not order a pasta dish even though I had planned on it before I got there. Someone in my party did order the wild mushroom ravioli and it was fabulous. I hope it is made in house. The prices were in line with the quality of the food. We loved our meal and would go back anytime. read more

This place was awesome. Perfect rib eye with a sun dried tomato butter and Gorgonzola sauce. And the server was top notch! We even go to sit at the piano!! 5 stars all around! read more

Omg!! Just go! Everything from the garlic bread to the dessert was perfection. Fantastic waiter, appetizer, wine, mojito, rib eye, grouper.... Go! read more

NEVER disappointed. A good dish to try out is wild mushroom ravioli. The next apps are great: crabmeat fritters, prosciutto wrapped dates (new menu item), meat/cheese board, calamari. Pistachio crusted grouper is s great fish dish and I always avoid ordering fish. Risotto and Brussel sprouts cooked perfectly, you do not have to add salt to anything. Steak made to order also perfectly done. On to dessert THE BEST CHEESECAKE in Columbus. The crust is soooo perfect and buttery. Tiramisu on point. Ice cream served as nice big scoops. All the desserts are good. The oneeeeee item I'm not crazy for is the Lasagna thankfully I had not ordered it and sampled some one else's. Alcohol drinks were average. read more

A great addition to the Columbus uptown area. Food is pricy and place gets crowded but overall it's good.

I went there for dinner with several coworkers while staying in the area. Ashley was our server and was always there before we needed her. The bruchetta and meatballs were amazing! read more

Great food, great service I just wish they had espresso!

My husband and I went for dinner for the first time this past weekend. We had an 8:00pm reservation. When we arrived, it was very crowded, and the hostess looked as though she was scrambling to figure everything out. We finally got sat at almost 8:30 (so much for a reservation). We sat upstairs, where it is very warm and inviting. However, it was incredibly loud, making conversation with my husband nearly impossible. Even though our server was very kind, we waited way longer than we wanted to for drinks. I ordered the Baked Rigatoni, it was surprisingly very good (Italian food snob). My husband's Ribeye was probably was of the most tasteless steaks we have ever had. It was cooked properly, and was very tender, but had zero taste. The sides were okay at best. The house salad looked like it was thrown on a plate by a two year old. The balsamic dressing was very bland. I did enjoy the ham and cheese in it, but that was about it. The mashed potatoes were really nothing to write home about. I think the best part of our experience was the dessert. New York style cheese cake with cherries! It was one of the best I have had in the South. I am glad we went, because I had been wanting to try this place, but I'm not sure if we will go back. For $126 for two people, I expected to be wowed, and I definitely was not! read more

Awesome service. Waiter was top notch. Filet was just as good. Recommend the Old Fashioned. Cheesecake and mocha cookie/ice cream for dessert. read more

Excellent food and phenomenal service! They managed to accommodate our large party a little bit last minute and on top of having several other large parties. While this would fluster a lot of restaurants, the service was some of the best we've experienced anywhere and the food was all excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. read more

The food is delicious! The bar atmosphere is second only to The Loft Downstairs. Great location and the service is superb.

Josh is awesome!!! Our food was good, and Josh told us about a wine that isn't listed on the menu called "Sexual Chocolate". Fantastic

After having been turned away several times for not having a reservation we finally dined at this establishment. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The quality of the experience was dimmed by the rowdy atmosphere. The shape of the room or clientele may effect the acoustics of the place but it was very loud and rather road-house prone. There was live music but we couldn't hear it at all. It was simply part of the 'rumble'. This could be a fine establishment with a little adjustment of the aesthetic. read more

I dine at Mabella's quite often as it it one of my favorite restaurants, however the other evening I had an unpleasant experience. While me and my wife were having an early dinner, I noticed one of the employees go up to the manager and ask her a question, in which she responded to him by raising her tone and causing a small scene in the middle of the dining room. It was very distracting to our evening and I noticed that other guests were disturbed as well. The altercation went on for several minutes, until one of the bartenders that was sitting down at the bar got up and walked over to ask them to relocate to a more private area. Usually I love coming to eat here and hope that this was just once instance, but I would not rate this as one of my top experiences. read more

We were very excited to eat at this brand new restaurant in Columbus. We reviewed the menu prior to our visit and found it to be an electic mix of Italian, seafood and grilled items. We made reservations and arrived at the restaurant about 1/2 hour early to get a drink at the bar. Surprisingly we were seated when we got there. The resturant was really crowded and very loud. We were seated beside a table of at least 12 diners. Our table was bare and very close to the group next to us. To say that the group beside us was loud would be an understatement. Our server even apologized for how loud the resturant was during our meal. We had pre dinner drinks, very fine Martini and Old Fashion for the hubby. We ordered a salad and two entres, lamb chops and grilled chicken with risotto. We also had a glass of wine. My dinner was terrible. The grilled Caesar salad, while interesting was difficult to eat with extremely long pieces of romaine. Since it was described as grilled, I thought it would be warm but it was not. It was just a wilted cold mess with bacon on top. My husband had the chopped kale salad and it was very good. My dinner had nothing to recommend it. The chicken breast was dry and not flavorful. I have had much better risotto and the three spears od asparagus that accounted for my side were OK. My husband's lamb chop was cooked perfectly and tasted great. He also had shaved Brussels sprouts, ok but not inspired. His second side was not what he ordered but rather garlic mashed potatoes. He said that they tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Wine was good. We were very disappointed in our experience because we had high hopes. I would recommend that this place figure out how to lessen the noise, maybe use table cloths, play music, something. We may be particularly sensitive to noise during meals because we do not like to eat at Mr. Nelm's other establishment, The Loft Downstairs" for the same reason. We noticed a lot of similarity between the food at both restaurants. Server was excellent, she even warned me that the salad would not be the Caesar salad I was used to. I think we will give this place some time to get the kinks out and will try it again. read more

I went to dinner with some girlfriends at this establishment. We sat at the bar and shared a couple bottles of wine. We split our bill three ways and Everything seemed fine. The food was great and the service was good. I went home and later that evening I noticed that I was charged me portion of the bill and an additional $123.00. I called and spoke to a women who did not identify her position and stated that the $123.00 charge had been deleted from the system. She said the bar manager must have charged me the total of the three dinners, deleted it, then charged me my bill. She stated it would be back in my account in 3-5 business days. 5 days later the money was back in my account. I checked my bank account today a week and a half later and I have been charged my original bill twice! I know this is a nicer establishment and I am only able to treat myself with dinner here once or twice a year. I should not have to be worried that they will bill double and triple charged for a meal and have to hound the restaurant to get your money back!!!! I can say I will not be back!!! read more
