Usually enjoy coming to The Cannon but this visit was very lackluster. Originally got a bacon cheeseburger that tasted like beef jerky. Dry as idk what with no flavor. Ultimately asked for it to be remade and it was actually cooked well but still lacked any flavor. Fries are good and so is the pickle that comes along with it though. Our server was inattentive and did not inform me that 2oz of sauce would be an extra dollar each when I asked for them. When I asked why she didn't tell me it would be extra "It doesn't come with it...". Bad experience that will make me not come back for a while.

The Cannon Brew Pub was hitting on all cylinders today. We had two delicious burgers. One with fries and the other with homemade chips. The third meal was a savory Chicken Pot pie with fries. Great service and ambiance. We recommend you stop in and give them a try if you already done so.

I came with a group of 5 others for a late lunch without a reservation and we were seated immediately. We split a variety of appetizers--cheese curds, onion "beer" rings, and fried pickles. The cheese curds were okay themselves but the dipping sauces (buffalo and raspberry) really elevated the dish, and ended up being perfect to also pair with the pickles. I ordered Chuck's Spinach Salad and couldn't even finish it, it was so large. The chicken in it was plain but the dressing and other toppings offset that. The draft list was also pretty nice, so I suggest checking out their in-house brews.

We opted to eat here instead of the Irish pub we were walking to. Mainly bc I assumed "brewpub" meant lots of draft options. Less of a pub feel instead and more restaurant. Service was slow starting out due to shift change but got better. Music inside was great (70s/80s). Atmosphere was decent. There is not a large draft selection. I'm guessing they do brew their own but options are limited. I got a beer cocktail (Cannon Tea) with their red jacket ale, shot of Jamison and splash of ginger ale. I'd recommend. Burger prices were high. $18-$20. That didn't make sense to me. I got the Bulldog Burger with their mash. It was good, but their mash was better. It was not an $18 burger IMO. Then again, I've had Wendy's burgers for much less that I would've paid $18 for. Overall, decent spot to stop. Nothing really exceeded my expectations but nothing bad either.

Hostess was nice and personable. However food another story. Fried pickles good but kind of hard to mess to fried pickles. This spinach dip was nasty, very processed tasting, no cheese taste, yucky. Waste of money. I ordered my burger medium well and as you can see in picture it's well well done. Dry as a desert. My drink is a blackberry lemonade vodka based and has a weird aftertaste. This place disappointed. We here from out of town so def will never be back but even if I lived here just gross.

I got the turkey avocado melt and the whole thing was cold. Including the meet and bread. It tasted like a cold lunch meat sandwich. Disappointed with the food for sure but the beer is good. I wouldn't eat food here again but great house crafted beer. If you just get beer and maybe apps it's a good spot. They just need a new chef in my opinion.

We had the coolest server ever with energetic service even though it was the end of Saint Patrick's day. Thanks STORMIE! You made our first visit here a great one. We ordered the Calamari with the chipotle dipping sauce although it had a good taste it was fried a little hard. We also ordered the Sliders, I enjoyed the beer fried onions on them. Although we didn't eat much, I really enjoyed the appetizers and our dining experience. The restaurant was packed for Saint Patty's Day but the waited wasn't long at all. I love the atmosphere of this friendly pub. Thanks again STORMIE for the great service.

Have been here multiple times and have NEVER had anything bad and the service is so nice and cheerful. I would definitely recommend if your near stop by and give it a try I promise you will not be disappointed. Husband got the Elvis burger and said it was weird but really good

Good burger, sweet potatoe fries, and beer. Nothing really stood out, but I enjoy a solid burger, fries and craft beer.

Unfortunately, this food was not good and the experience was less than ideal. I ordered a bulldog burger and asked for it to be made well done. Somehow the outside was burned and the inside of the burger was still pink. That was fine if the burger had flavor but it didn't. It was as plane as a burger at an inexpensive diner. The house salad was on par with most restaurants and it tasted fresh. Aesthetically, it is need of updates and the seating was not comfortable or inviting. Service was quick, but we also felt rushed to leave. So we did. Closing is at 9:30 and it was only 6:30. I might give it another shot some other time, but I'm not planning on it any time soon.

While visiting Columbus we decided to eat at Cannon. We were seated within 15-20 minutes and had quick service to order drinks and food. Appetizers: Onion rings 5/5 Buffalo fondue 5/5 Main: Two of us ordered bacon cheese burgers We both ordered cooked medium rare - one was cooked ok on the inside the other was well done. Also, the outside of the burgers were burnt. Flavors were nice but were not pleased with the burnt patties. 3/5 House pizza Pizza had nice flavor and was from brick oven. Only thing here is they could have cooked the crust a little longer as it was not crispy like traditional brick oven pizza. 4/5 Don't you know burger My son enjoyed his burger. He requested well done and his patty was not burnt. 3/5 Tiger burger My oldest has been to this restaurant before and has always ordered the tiger burger. 4/5

Just an update. I returned this time to try that incredible pecan fried chicken sandwich that I loved a few years ago. On this visit, it wasn't one of the best sandwiches, although it was still pretty good. Where it lacked on this visit was it was that it was not incredibly juicy like it was the first time I tried it. Overall, still a great visit. The sandwich was good as were their nachos. And, the Special Ops IPA is amazing!

Don't order the spinach salad. The spinach was not only wilted but some areas were actually slimy.

I made a reservation a month or so in advance (though it may be possible to get a table closer to your target date than that). We arrived just before our 5:45 p.m. reservation. It was bitterly cold that day, so I dropped my wife off and searched for parking. My advice: there seemed to be more spaces available on 1st Avenue north of the restaurant. I circled around some other streets first and found nothing. The restaurant itself is a somewhat narrow but deep space in its building. When you enter, the first room has the bar on the left and tables on the right. There is a secondary smaller room towards the back which was where our table was. Our waiter showed up and got our drink orders. There was an extensive list of specials and drinks, which was fine. I don't think we opted for them, but it was nice that they had a changing variety of dishes. As this was our first time here, everything was a novelty. I had some wine; the pours were average. I think the entrees came with salads, which were good. For the main dish, I had to decide between lasagna, spaghetti, and a mushroom ravioli + steak option. I went with the latter, and was pleased. The steak was just 4 oz, but that's fine given the overall dish. It was cooked well and tasty. The ravioli were good as well. I did not manage to finish them, but enjoyed them for lunch the next day. My wife opted for a fish dish which she also liked. We did not want to overdo dinner with dessert as we had a performance to attend. Otherwise, I'd have checked that out. The last thing I'll comment on is the music selection. They were featuring "Spanish guitar" covers of pop songs, but the mix was pretty eclectic - it included Beatles, CCR, the Theme from Forrest Gump, etc. I enjoyed it quite a bit, to the point that I emailed them to ask about it. It definitely wasn't just a generic background music stream! We are planning to attend another performance in Columbus later in the Spring, and I have already made a reservation to return to Mabella's.

I was eating alone and sat at the bar and the server was respectful, attentive, and took my order quickly. The main reason this place drew me in was because of their menu emphasizing "home-made pasta." Anytime i see this in an Italian restaurant, I am going to because I've been searching for a restaurant to even come close to the homemade pasta my wife and I had in Florence, Italy. So in an effort to find that dish, I ordered the Bolognese. It wasn't exactly that true Italian bolognese that is closer to a stroganoff, but it was good. The dish has a great balance in the sauce-to-beef, and their homemade pasta was cooked perfect. I also ordered a side of their string fries with aioli. These were not as good as the main dish, they came out a little cold and lacked knock out flavor. Overall, I think this is a great spot, not just for an Italian place in Columbus, but for a true, homemade pasta experience. Every pasta dish I saw looked great and I loved the ambiance. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Columbus!

There are tons of ingredients to choose from and toppings are unlimited - even if you start with one the menu pizzas, you can make as many changes as you want. Lots of room to get creative. They also have a range of sizes: the 7" and 10" pizzas are both suitable for one person depending on your appetite, and bigger sizes would be good for sharing. It's not the cheap greasy type of pizza, so depending on the ingredients you choose, you can create something relatively healthy. There's also pasta and salad on offer, which I did not try. For dessert, they have a modest gelato selection too (6-8 flavours if I remember correctly, mostly pretty standard stuff with a few specials), which also seems pretty high quality. Looks like a great selection of craft beer too. I started with a Kickin' BBQ Peach Pizza, a summer special menu item, and got rid of the bacon, added peppadew peppers and basil. It was really good! I love the pairing of fruity and spicy so the flavours were right on the mark for me. I might leave off the peppadew peppers if I were to redo my order just to keep things simple since the ingredients that came with the pizza were already really flavourful, but they were still a tasty addition. I had a scoop of peaches & cream gelato for dessert. The gelato is definitely the real deal! Very creamy, with swirls of real peach compote. The speed of service wasn't lightning fast, but it was quite reasonable for food made to order. The staff were friendly and seemed eager to help customers customize their pizza, so I didn't feel like I was a bother for modifying the recipe.
