    4 Pad Thai Dumplings

Ordered take out lunch via the Clover app. The order was ready upon arrival. The grilled chicken sandwich was super good, delicious chicken with veggies and sauce. The pad thai was also amazing. It has little bit of sweet taste to it.

Casual Vietnamese food made with love This is a small, no frills place with a selection of Vietnamese fare like pho, noodles, rice, buns, salads and appetizers. I enjoyed the tofu and veggie pho ($14) and the original banhmi ($11) got high reviews too, for good texture bread and juicieness. Everything comes in takeout containers even when you dine in, which I didn't love especially for something one pho. You order at the counter and sit at a table. There seemed to be a good flow of people ordering takeout so that's probably a good sign! There are so many options for dining and bakeries in this area.

NJ doesn't have as many Vietnamese cuisine compared to Brooklyn/NYC so I'm used to a different flavor. I can see how this place attracts other people in different aspects-- service is great, neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the interior is inviting and comfortable. The menu is simple and easy to read. However, this spot serves mediocre Vietnamese cuisine relative to my experience with eating it in other ethnic neighborhoods & in Vietnam. I tried the Chicken pho - it was decent but definitely over seasoned with sugar & salt(idk how that's possible). The chicken was dry ... but it covered with soup so I'm not sure how they did that.

This place might not look like it but it has some of the best Vietnamese food in the area. A small little takeout place with a very interesting menu. We tried the duck buns, chicken fried rice, spicy chicken banh mi and vietnamese coffee. Everything tasted amazing.Loved the banh mi. The portions are huge, especially the banh mi and fried rice. The prices are very reasonable especially after everyone increased the prices for inflation. The lady at the counter is very attentive and courteous. Definitely check this place in closter.

My husband and I order from here often. Our usual is the Chicken Pad Thai, which is super tasty with some spice to it and the Pork Fried Rice, extra spicy. The rice is my absolute favorite--garlickly, spicy and the pork bits are so tender and tasty. The portion sizes are on the bigger side, which is appreciated. We have never been to the physical restaurant, but delivery has always been good!

Dined for the first time with my daughter. First off, the menu prices on their website are lower than in the restaurant. Time for an update! My daughter ordered an original mommy, and I selected a spicy mommy. Both sandwiches were decent size on very tasty bread. Unfortunately, the Original Ma Mi includes some very tasty, but very fatty pork. The portion of pork was also not generous, and once you remove the fat there's not all that much left. As for my Spicy Ma Mi, it included a healthy amount of chicken and was quite tasty. Two high school girls behind the counter, one with an infectious smile, the other looking like she partied hard the night before! Pho being enjoyed by other diners looked good! Will go back, but likely stay away from the Original Ma Mi.

Some of the best to-go food in the area. Amazing pad Thai and fried rice. Large portions and never disappoints. Also check out the spicy ma mi sandwich, delicious with a refreshing taste with all the fresh herbs and vegetables.

Ordered the shrimp summer roll and the spicy chicken bahn mi. Have not been here in a while and the quality and preparation are all still there! The sandwhich was seasoned perfectly and had a good amount of veggies and the spicy mayo perfectly compliments the sandwhich. The summer rolls were fresh, soft, and tasted great! I asked for a side of spicy mayo bc i love it. Usually comes with a peanut sauce. Cheers!

Named Best of Bergen Finalist for 2022 and 2023, this establishment opened 7 years ago as a fast-casual Vietnamese restaurant located in Closter, where I came as a first-timer for lunch today. Upon entering, it was very simple, cozy, yet clean, with a couple of little tables, and I was fortunate to meet up with the husband-and-wife team. They also own a sister restaurant, "Simply Vietnamese," in Tenafly. The owner, Joe, has informed me that the eatery is named "Ma Mì," which is derived from "Ma," paying tribute to his mother and grandmother, while "mì" means bread or noodle in Vietnamese. The menu is relatively simple, not overly complex, consisting of banh mi sandwiches, pho soup, bao buns, and salads. For starters, I decided on the summer roll with chicken and avocado. As the main meal, I opted for the seafood pho consisting of shrimp and basa (fish). To wash these down, I ordered the Thai iced tea. Since all orders, including dine-in, are packed to go, the food was packaged very well. They included siracha and hoisen sauce without asking for the pho. The soup was bursting with flavors of anise and other spices--perfectly warm and comforting. The broth was generous in size, and the noodles were fresh. The rolls were okay, but not wrapped tightly. The friendly staff makes you feel like family, and the price is reasonable, so I can recommend this place.

a fantastic, affordable, and quick spot to stop by for lunch or dinner if you're ever in or driving by closter. i ordered a banh mi and 2 appetizers: - tofu banh mi: this is seriously one of the best banh mis i've had in the northeast region-- perfect amount of mayo and sauces, the tofu was teeming with flavor, and the bread was so soft and fresh. i dont even know how to describe it but the whole experience of consuming this banh mi was just SO pleasant-- since having it, I've been periodically craving it and can't wait to go back when I'm back in the area. - duck baos: i highly recommend this starter; it was INCREDIBLE!! the baos were so so soft and fluffy and the duck was so well cooked and flavored - veggie summer rolls: this was just okay, not the highlight by any means and definitely overshadowed by the other amazing items. still a solid summer roll though-- you can rarely go wrong with these.

Totally recommend! I've been here a few times. The Thai iced tea with coconut milk is delicious! I'm lactose intolerant and it's great that they can whip this up non-dairy. My daughter is addicted to their crispy tofu bao buns. The grilled chicken Ma mí sandwich is really yummy - flavorful. The banh mi fries are a must try. Keep in mind that they have wet topping so if you take them to go, eat them fast otherwise it's all soggy. They're flavorful and filling.

I was given a mini bag filled with jalapeños, basil leaves, limes, bean sprouts, sriracha packets, and hoisin sauce packets to complement the pho. Overall, the soup was absolutely dynamite and comforting. The broth had a superb flavor bomb, which made the entire meal extremely satisfying. I enhanced my bowl with the addition of jalapeños, basil leaves, lime juice, and sriracha sauce. The order was delivered in a timely manner. The staff member who assisted me over the phone was super kind, especially since I requested extra sriracha packets. The price point of the pho was nicely affordable. They had two kinds of pho: one with three types of meat (rare steak, beef balls and brisket -$16) and one with one meat ($15) plus choice of additional protein at either $1 or $2 extra. Both were pretty good but we felt quite thirsty afterward from the sodium and seasonings. We enjoyed the tofu spring rolls (though the tofu was hard to pick out) and the summer rolls. There was a little miscommunication around the pho and what was included, and my pho came out with the wrong type of protein at first. But they fixed it in short order and were nice and accommodating. The actual space looks like a larger Chinese takeout place so nothing special there. There's also a sign that said to seat yourself and then order at the kiosk. The server was there and said he could serve us. But you can save money by just ordering at the kiosk or getting takeout. 3% more on credit card orders too. I guess the prices are what you get these days but felt it, maybe because of the lack of ambiance. The plaza is pretty sad looking, with some empty storefronts and smaller shops like a nail place, pizza, small Greek spot, and a Fresh Grocer. The plus side is parking is easy peasy.

After learned that they couldn't add a fried egg and no sausage option with the grilled pork, I opted for the three meat combo over rice instead, beef, chicken and lamb. Kids enjoyed the fried rice and wanted more of the spring rolls. Only dish that we were thrilled by was the beef stew, ok to skip. The place is small with limited seating. We arrived early, which was a good thing, as more and more people came in, including some families, and eventually there was a line of people trying to eat here. The service was friendly, though a tad slow, likely because they were overwhelmed. Since I had a headache, I got a Vietnamese Iced Coffee/Cà Phê Sữa Dá for $5.99. This was properly done, being lightly sweet with plenty of strong coffee flavor. On a side note, instead of the standard sriracha, they have a much tastier Vietnamese brand of hot sauce here, which I appreciated. We started with two appetizers. As they were out of the Curry Chicken Skewers/Gà Xiên Nướng Cà Rị, we started with the Lemongrass Beef Skewers/Bò Nướng Xả for $9.95, served with spring onion, fried onion flakes, and soybean peanut sauce. This was my favorite dish of the evening as the beef had plenty of lemongrass flavor, and was tender and juicy. The little side salad was a good accompaniment, and the sauce was nice, but not needed. I would recommend this heavily. We also got the Summer Rolls/Gỏi Cuốn for $7.49, with vermicelli, lettuce, mint leaves, pickled daikon, and peanut sauce. Said dish has a choice between shrimp and tofu, and we got the latter. These were standard with a slightly chewy wrapper and plenty of vegetables. This was nice and refreshing with a good peanut sauce. For my main dish, I got the Grilled Vermicelli Platter/Bún Thịt Nướng with Mỹ Tho vermicelli noodles, assorted vegetables, mint, and house dressing. The price depends on topping, and I got the $15.49 option with a combo of three, with my choices being pork, spring rolls, and beef. As with the appetizer, the beef was tender and had some lemongrass flavor. The pork was on the bone and likely marinated similarly to the beef and was also tasty, though a bit less tender. The spring rolls were freshly fried being hot and crunchy, though a little oily. They were my least favorite part, but I've never been the biggest fan of spring rolls, regardless of culture, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The fish sauce added a mild sweetness to the cold vermicelli, and I liked the dish a bit more once I added their hot sauce as per usual. This was good overall and a good portion size to boot. Another person got a Pho with beef and brisket for $12.99, and there was also a decently priced Combination Pho/Phở Dặc Biệt for the same price as my entree. I tried a bit of the broth, which was good, and there were plenty of noodles. The last person, who was not as hungry, ordered a very reasonably priced Chicken Bahn Mi/Bánh Mì Gà for $8.95, which they liked. This was an above-average Vietnamese place, and I could see why there were lines to get in. The food was decently priced, the meat was cooked properly, and the portions were nice. I would recommend it if you're in the area and you're looking for Vietnamese food.

The menu offers all of the Vietnamese classics you're craving - steaming bowls of pho, vermicelli noodles topped with fresh vegetables, crispy banh mi sandwiches, stir-fries, and a variety of grilled meats like lemongrass pork and chicken. And if you're a boba lover, they even have bubble tea. Prices are reasonable, but here's a big tip: You get a 10% discount when you pay with cash. There's an ATM inside. There were a few hits and misses with our order, but overall we left feeling satisfied with our meal. The misses: *Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk ($5.95) - This was much sweeter and thicker than I expected! It tasted more like a dessert drink than an iced coffee. The condensed milk's sweetness overpowered the coffee flavor. I have a big sweet tooth, so I still enjoyed it. But if you're sensitive to sugar, you might want to skip this or ask for less milk. *Fresh Shrimp/Summer Rolls with poached shrimp, vermicelli, & peanut sauce ($7.95) - Not a fan. The rolls were bland and mostly just filled with vermicelli noodles. The peanut sauce was a let down. The flavors were off and it had a watery consistency. It barely tasted like peanuts. I don't know if they used too much vinegar or sugar, but either way... the ingredients were completely unbalanced. Now for the hits... We came for the STAR DISH: PHO! Every order comes with rice noodles, beef broth, white onions, scallions, and cilantro with a side of bean sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapeno peppers. We ordered: *Pork Chop Pho ($16.95) - I absolutely loved the lemongrass marinade (made with lemongrass, fish sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, & shallots)! The meat was juicy, sweet, and savory. I could tell the chef grilled it perfectly because of the smoky charred edges. *Rare Beef & Well Done Brisket Pho ($14.95 size small) - They did not skimp out on the protein here! The beef cuts were large, tender, and flavorful! The broth was the heart of the pho - aromatic, warm, and rich! The spices (cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, and coriander) made it taste even better. I always enjoy adding hot chili and hoisin sauce for that extra heat and sweetness. The noodles were silky smooth and soaked up all that beefy broth. Yum, yum! And you can't forget about loading up on the garnishes to add a satisfying crunch and more flavor in every slurp! Pho was the perfect comfort food on the coldest day of the year~

We had a fantastic meal at Vietnam Central from start to finish…read more We kicked things off with the garlic shrimp, which immediately reminded me of tempura shrimp -- light, crispy, and coated in a creamy garlic sauce that was rich without being heavy. A great way to start the meal. Next up was the mango catfish, which was hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The mango brought an unexpected bit of heat and sweetness that worked surprisingly well -- definitely a standout dish and a pleasant surprise. For our mains, we both ordered the beef pho, which arrived piping hot, deeply comforting, and incredibly filling. Perfectly warming and exactly what you want from a good bowl of pho. Dessert sealed the deal. The flan was slightly overdone but still enjoyable, and the ube ice cream was excellent on its own. But when you combine the two? Pure bliss. Overall, a delicious and satisfying experience -- we'll absolutely be back. Service is fast and the decor is functional. A great find! Be sure to try it out.
