This Italian restaurant has started to serve brunch on weekends. We came in for an early Sunday brunch. The patio area has nice ocean views. Indoor is very spacious with a full bar. The menu was huge for breakfast / brunch. They had a little bit of everything. We have tried Caesar salad, steak & eggs and chicken ciabatta. The salad and steak were so good. The sandwich was just ok, chicken was a bit dry. Service was friendly but very slow. It's usually slow here so it wasn't surprising. It's a great Italian restaurant for dinners, serving brunch on weekends is even better!

Had an amazing dinner here during a weekend stay in Catalina. Food was ok-tasty but nothing special. The vibes are great, casual/formal whichever u prefer. Service was great as well.

It was my husband's birthday and I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate his special evening. We both like Italian food so I looked up for some restaurants on Yelp. One of the top restaurants recommended by yelp was this restaurant. I was able to make a reservation seamlessly. 30 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant send a text message to confirm our reservation. Once we were at the restaurant, we were able to find parking for our golf cart quite easily. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant, we were transported to another world. Both inside and outside seating looked great. The ambience was beautiful and well lit throughout. I got the stuffed manicotti pasta and my husband got the chicken Catalina. The dishes came out pretty quickly. The portion size looked adequate. Both the dishes were tasty and cooked to perfection. Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, the server surprised us with a slice of a cake. The cake was delicious. All in all we had a great time. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. If you are celebrating something special, this is a great place to go.

June 25, 2025 | Catalina Island Avalon | What a beautiful place to have a solo & delicious dinner as well as enjoy a beautiful view! After relaxing on the beach, and craving a bite to eat, M Restaurant was a great choice! Penne Arrabbiata | Spicy, flavorful & delicious! Even spicier & added flavor once I added red chili pepper flakes & parmesan! Huge portions here; I had leftovers! Easily took half of it back and put it in the refrigerator inside of my hotel room! Vibe: The restaurant got super busy! I enjoyed dining solo, as well as relaxing while looking at the ocean view across the way! It's always fun treating yourself to a great meal, as well as enjoying your own company! There were couples, as well as large tables of people all around, including people at the bar... fabulous! Customer Service | Incredibly friendly! The girl outside making reservations, always has a smile on her face! Even as I would pass by the restaurant, when walking around, she was always upbeat! My server Joanna was amazing, friendly, and attentive; service with a smile, loved it! View: Wonderful beach view of the boats luxuriating in the ocean! Overall: Yes, please! I would easily return & order the same dish and maybe next time, alongside garlic bread! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu! Thanks again for a wonderful experience & delicious meal!

Tiramisu

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was a mixed bag. Location and ambiance were very cool and casual. Food was hit or miss: Meatballs were abysmal, marinara sauce was tragic 3.2/10 Manicotti was fantastic, knocked it out of the park 10/10 Tiramisu was excellent 10/10, excellent flavor and consistency Cocktails were extraordinary especially the watermelon one 10/10 Service was excellent and quick

Peach martini & lemon drop - The image features two cocktails on a dark wooden table in a dimly lit environment. One cocktail is a yellowish drink garnished with a maraschino cherry on a skewer, while the other is a clear beverage with a salted rim and a lemon wedge. A small candle in a glass holder and a vase with flowers are also visible, creating a cozy ambiance.

The steak & mash were great. The asparagus ok. But the drinks were pretty bad- water down barely any flavor. I would skip cocktails here.

Burrata

Wow so yummy! And so reasonably priced I was really shocked. I ordered the burrata and the cioppino and neither disappointed. The outdoor patio is HUGE but we sat inside, vibes were nice and there were some fun birthday parties. The drinks were also very good. To top it all off the service was so fast our food came out incredibly quickly.

Lox and bagels. Yum

Went here for brunch on a Saturday. We sat in the patio area. It was bright and sunny. We ordered and the service was great. Food was delicious and the presentation was awesome. Especially for the lox and bagels. We also had omelets and egg dishes and the avocado toast. Will definitely be back. Go try this and you will not be disappointed.

Apparently this is the most delicious tiramisu ever.

Delicious food and Joanna - our server - was awesome. We brought our own wine which made it even more fabulous. Corkage $30. They did a special Tiramisu dessert for our friends bday celebration too. Highly recommend this place. Make a reservation because it was packed on a Friday night.

Scallop pesto pasta

All the seafood pastas sounded amazing so we went with the lobster pasta, scallop pasta, and shrimp tequila pasta. The lobster pasta was good, but a little bit on the sour side. Too much on the lemon. The server did say it had an acquired taste. They also said it was a whole lobster in the pasta. I ordered the shrimp tequila pasta. There was plenty of shrimp and the sauce was great, but there were too many pieces of bell peppers. The favorite of the night was the scallop pasta. The pesto sauce was creamy and delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Service was great. They kept checking up on us. For a fancy restaurant, the bathrooms need a renovation.

Arribiata pasta, linguine, espresso martini, Paloma
Maddy A.

Had a reservation inside and the were able to accommodate us to sit outside which was super cool. The view was pretty. Service was so good and very attentive. Ordered the arrabiata pasta and the scallop pesto linguine. The pasta was a little spicier than I expected but amazing 9/10. The linguine was really good 9/10 could have used one or two more scallops. Would for sure order these two pastas again. The tiramisu was okay and was a little bit hard would probably say 6/10. We also ordered the espresso martini and Paloma. Drinks were good 8/10 and what we were expecting

We were sat down right away for Sunday brunch. There was a great breeze being right across the street from the bay. We were considering the eggs Benedict and asked the server how the hollandaise was. She asked us if we wanted to try it, so of course we said yes. She brought out two spoons which was very sweet. It tasted like gravy which is not how hollandaise should be, so we passed on that. I ordered the French toast and added berries and whipped cream. The French toast consistency and flavor were good, but the temperature was not right and seemed that it had been sitting out for some time. The biscuits and gravy were cold and tasted like packet gravy, overall disappointing for people who enjoy biscuits and gravy. The loaded potatoes were decent, very cheesy and copious amounts of bacon. The potatoes were cooked and salted decently. Would recommend this as a a breakfast item. The ambiance was nice with it being outside. I wish they had umbrellas instead of the built in covers on top because the sun was constantly moving. The service was just ok as it was hard to get a hold of our server. 3.5 stars

Great dinner spot that feels a little more upscale and romantic than most spots in Avalon. They have a good variety of pastas, seafood, and other meat dishes. We came here our first night in town after reading many rave reviews about this restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner here and had great service from Raul. So many things on the menu sounded good that it was tough narrowing it down. We ordered the garlic cheese bread to start, and I got the chicken parmesan while my mom got the French onion soup and fried ravioli. Portions of all were quite large and we both ended up taking part of our meals with us. Food was solid and we both ended up happy with what we ordered. This spot also seemed to be one of the few restaurants on the island that gave out water instead of charging for bottles. I don't think I've ever been so happy to get so many water refills. They have a super cute patio and plenty of seating inside. It was quite chilly so we opted to sit inside, but I'd highly recommend that patio if its a warmer night. We made reservations day of and there was plenty of availability at all times and with seating both inside and out, but we were here in the middle of the week. The restaurant is further down from the ferry and only open at dinnertime on weeknights, so it doesn't feel quite as touristy as a lot of the restaurants did. I'd come back here and recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nicer dinner while visiting the island!

We spend every fall on the island, yet somehow had never tried this place before--and now we're wondering why we waited so long. The Buffalo Milk cocktail was absolutely delicious: rich, creamy, and easily a contender for the best on the island. The nachos were unforgettable--a towering plate of warm chips piled high with melted cheese, black beans, and tender steak. It was truly enough to feed a small village; I had to take half back to our boat for a late-night snack. My husband ordered the pork mole, another standout, with tender pork smothered in a spicy-sweet red mole sauce, served alongside perfectly cooked beans and rice. Portions here are incredibly generous. Just as impressive as the food was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of--checking in often and even making sure our dog was cozy and content. That level of warmth and attention is rare, and it made the whole experience feel especially welcoming. We'll definitely be back--and next time, we're bringing friends. This place is a gem.

We asked for chips and salsa a few times while waiting, but they didn't bring anything out until our food came out. This was confusing to us because the restaurant was empty! Still, it took nearly an hour for them to bring out our food. The enchiladas I ordered were a mix of mole and verde. What I received was verde and red sauce, which wasn't even an option on the menu. The enchiladas were extremely bland and required a lot of hot sauce. The kids ordered Beyond Burgers, and I asked for these to be made with cheese only. They did not include cheese but charged us for cheese. It just wasn't a good experience in any way. The restaurant was also freezing cold! It was worth a try, but we won't be going back.

You can tell this team takes pride in what they do. The wine tasting was beautifully curated, and the staff did such a great job walking us through each pour, sharing helpful details, and making the whole experience feel relaxed but still elevated. Every question we had was answered with ease, and the pacing was spot-on. Dinner was just as impressive. Our table shared the chicken, steak, and salmon, and every single dish was outstanding. The chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked, the steak was tender and rich, and the salmon was beautifully prepared--fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. Sharing everything family-style made it even better because we got to try a little of everything, and honestly, there wasn't a single miss. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. We felt genuinely taken care of the entire evening, and it made the night feel special. This is the kind of service and dining experience that makes you want to come back immediately--and bring friends. Highly recommend for a wine tasting, date night, or special occasion. They have a nice interior build-out with a huge wine bar, but it was a nice evening and we elected to sit on their spacious patio. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by Sarah, who is the bartender and also manages a couple of nights a week for the owner. Sarah is super friendly, explained the menu and provided great table service. They have a large wine selection. My wife ordered a chardonnay and I stuck with an Arnold Palmer. We ordered their bruschetta appetizer, served as six pieces of toasted bread and the expected toppings. It was a perfect start to our meal. We were not super hungry, and selected a three-cheese charcuterie board. You are able to select your cheeses, and Sarah again helped us make our decision. It was perfect for a summer-weather afternoon (although in March) and we chatted, had our drinks and picked at the board until it was gone. During our meal, Sarah was very attentive to our needs. My wife tried another chard, and we ordered their banana dessert, which had great flavor and was a nice end to the meal. This is a great place to quietly enjoy some wine, beer and food. You probably wouldn't think of one in Valencia, would you. Well, I have been to all of the above and I am telling you, you would be missing out on a one of a kind, out of this world experience that can be had any day of the week at Kindred Spirits, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency. No, I didn't expect it to come anywhere close to the stratospheric experiences you could have were you to choose any wine bar you fancied, but, the minute I got inside, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience that I will want to repeat. First of all, it's downright beautiful. Flawlessly decorated with a chic living room vibe with just the right elements to suggest a curated museum-level sensibility. See my pictures as well as all the others here on Yelp. I spent the entire time noticing little details like the plush velvet banquet, the clubby wing back arm chairs, the art deco artefacts and furnishings, paintings, sculptures, even the ceiling lights were unique and obviously carefully selected. And then there is the stupefying wine and spirits menu that goes on and on. I rarely drink anything alcoholic but I couldn't pass up a taste of one of the exquisite sparkling wines that caught my eye. There is a full range of everything. If you really must have beer, it's there, but! For heaven's sake, try something elevated -- ask for recommendations. You won't be disappointed. However, the star of the entire experience is the menu. Now, remember, I am a lifelong vegetarian. I had fun limiting myself to four choices -- I could have had more were I not on a perpetual diet. You can see what we ordered in my photographs. Each dish was superb, really, first in class. Nonetheless, take a good look at my photographs of the Autumn Apple Tarte -- it is the g.o.a.t., believe me. Not only did it taste celestial but notice the tiny flowers? The chef, Priscilla, is a highly skilled and trained artist, her medium just happens to be delicately flavored and arranged plates of heaven. And Sarah, our attendant took a concierge approach to caring for us. A cosmopolitan playlist provided a lyrical backdrop that just made everything flow like silk. Parking is easy, simply use the Hyatt Convention Center parking lot adjacent to a verdant golf course or their garage, for free. There are two main rooms and we asked for the "lobby"-like large room with a giant table that we had all to ourselves, given we were there in the late afternoon on a Sunday. Even so, clientele were coming and going. It was the golden hour and we were draped in a warm light and cozy but uplifting spirit. The entire experience was flawless. And the tab? Ridiculously reasonable. You may not be headed to Rodeo or Saint-Germain-des-Prés or West 27th street any time soon. So, instead, treat yourself to this epic wine bar. You will thank me, when you do.
