I guess this is one of the fanciest restaurants in Avalon. However, I was surprised that our food came out only about 7 minutes after we ordered. We tried the French onion soup, but unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to eat more than one spoonful and ended up leaving almost all of it. The pasta was also a bit overcooked and tasted pretty ordinary--nothing particularly special or memorable. If you're visiting the island, I'd recommend this place for the atmosphere and ambiance. But if you're hungry and looking for really good food, I personally wouldn't recommend it. That being said, our server was very nice and attentive. Okay... I don't know I wanted to like this place and I understand it's a tourist area. But I honestly can make better pasta at home and for $29 I was shocked I had to season my own chicken Alfredo. I wish I had garlic powder, onion powder, and some other seasonings but I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The chicken wasn't seasoned. A kid would like this maybe. The food here is amazing as is the partial ocean view. When coming here, ask to be seated on the patio. All of the food here was fantastic. We left well feed. One of my guests even cleaned their plate. Our order was the Grilled Brazino with tomatoes which came with zucchini (not my favorite vegetable) and rice, linguine bolognese, and garlic chicken linguine alfredo. My guest requested extra garlic for their meal, but the chef failed in this area. The staff here are very attentive and accommodating. If I had to complain, it would be the lack of extra garlic we requested for the Chicken Alfredo. Other than that, if you want Italian food while on Catalina Island, this is the place to visit. We made a 5:45 PM reservation on OpenTable, and the whole experience felt seamless from the start. Upon arrival, we had the option of indoor or outdoor seating and chose the courtyard which was such a cute, cozy setting and perfect for an early evening dinner on Catalina. The menu leans toward seafood with Italian influences, which ended up being right up our alley. My husband and I shared the burrata salad to start, and it was fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. For our main, we split the pesto scallop linguini, and it was so good: rich, saucy (in the best way), and packed with flavor. Service was friendly and impressively quick without feeling rushed, which we really appreciated. We also peeked inside, and the interior has a warm, cozy vibe. They were accommodating several large parties as well, but everything still felt well-managed and organized. Overall, a really enjoyable dinner with great food, a charming atmosphere, and solid service. Definitely a spot we'd come back to on our next Catalina trip. read more

We ordered the Arrabiata, which ended up being a little too spicy for my husband and Swordfish grilled with lemon caper sauce on the side. Violeta comped the pasta as my husband was not able to eat it she had requested light spice and it was too spicy. Truly wish I could give this place a 4.5 as 4 seems too low and 5 too high. Of course this is based off what's available in Avalon as I feel options are limited but this is probably my new go to whenever I visit Catalina and looking for a nice dinner. Everything I had here was really good, nothing here wasn't delicious. I tried the chicken parmesan, spinach and artichoke dip, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, Parmesan Crusted Halibut, Caesar salad with chicken substituted, and chocolate cake. The standouts for me personally were the salad which was absolutely delicious even though I'm not the biggest salad guy, but the chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned and the lettuce had good add ons to make every bite flavorful, and the chocolate cake which was extremely rich. It's also worth mentioning that my party of 8 showed up at 8:40pm and closing time was 9pm (the hostess let us know that this was okay a few hours prior when scheduling our reservation) yet the service never seemed upset, pushy, or any way negative toward us which tbh I would. The bartenders were really nice and made a good recommendation on wine. Then our waiter recommended octopus as a starter, we also had lobster pasta and steak. Yum yum we devoured our food! My wife and I are Mexican. Yes, we tip. We sat at 8pm. At 810 we were told to put our order in now because the kitchen "is closing in 10 minutes." A few minutes after ordering I watched the hostess tell another group of 6 Latinos that the restaurant was closing. Three times after that, we watched two more 2 tops (2 people each) and a 4 top (4 people) of all white people get seated and served. Last table ordered their food 35 minutes after us, but they obviously weren't told the kitchen is "closing in 10 minutes". Server barely came to our table during service. I've been in hospitality for 30 years, I know this game. Food was decent. Cioppino didn't include pasta which is wild for $40 but whatever I guess. read more

This Italian restaurant has started to serve brunch on weekends. We came in for an early Sunday brunch. The patio area has nice ocean views. Indoor is very spacious with a full bar. The menu was huge for breakfast / brunch. They had a little bit of everything. We have tried Caesar salad, steak & eggs and chicken ciabatta. The salad and steak were so good. The sandwich was just ok, chicken was a bit dry. Service was friendly but very slow. It's usually slow here so it wasn't surprising. It was my husband's birthday and I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate his special evening. We both like Italian food so I looked up for some restaurants on Yelp. One of the top restaurants recommended by yelp was this restaurant. I was able to make a reservation seamlessly. 30 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant send a text message to confirm our reservation. Once we were at the restaurant, we were able to find parking for our golf cart quite easily. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant, we were transported to another world. Both inside and outside seating looked great. The ambience was beautiful and well lit throughout. I got the stuffed manicotti pasta and my husband got the chicken Catalina. The dishes came out pretty quickly. The portion size looked adequate. Both the dishes were tasty and cooked to perfection. Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, the server surprised us with a slice of a cake. The cake was delicious. All in all we had a great time. Vibe: The restaurant got super busy! I enjoyed dining solo, as well as relaxing while looking at the ocean view across the way! It's always fun treating yourself to a great meal, as well as enjoying your own company! There were couples, as well as large tables of people all around, including people at the bar... fabulous! M was recommended by a very nice woman we met on the ferry ride over. So far, her other recs were great, so we wanted to try this restaurant which was high on her list. I made reservations for 12:30 on a Sunday, which was after our submarine tour. They only have a brunch menu on weekends but it included a few lunch items. When we passed by in the morning, it was pretty busy but by 12:30 it was empty. We chose to sit inside and it's beautiful inside with high ceilings and plenty of light. Our server came by after a few minutes and I placed our son's order first for a side of biscuits and gravy. That actually came out quick and he liked it. We had a couple of questions for our server and he was really polite and friendly and gave us his honest recs. We ordered a bread bowl of clam chowder and my husband got a steak. It took forever for them to come out. It was weird because the restaurant wasn't full but I think they just didn't have enough staff. And then when I wanted some butter for my bread, the server forgot and I had to remind him and he brought it then, but by that time my bread was cold and hard. If you're celebrating a special occasion this is honestly one of the last places I would recommend. You would probably have a nicer and more thoughtful experience celebrating at home or in your hotel. Even though we had made a reservation days in advance for 6:45 PM our table was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait. I had clearly mentioned beforehand that we were celebrating our anniversary. We were told that we would receive a complimentary dessert and I had also requested a few small special touches for our table. However, none of that was done. The only "decoration" on the table was a tiny battery operated candle that was so small you could barely notice it even with a magnifying glass. The moment we turned it on the battery died. Honestly, that detail perfectly summed up how carelessly a day that was important to me was handled. Especially after I had clearly mentioned our anniversary in advance, seeing such a lack of attention was really disappointing. The food was another disappointment. I had one of the toughest ribeyes I've ever eaten in my life. I'm not exaggerating my jaw muscles actually hurt from chewing it. Overall the appetizers and the food were also far below what I expected in terms of flavor. The only positive part of the experience was our server. She was genuinely friendly, polite and kind. I'm sorry I don't remember her name but I would really like to thank her!! Unfortunately for a special anniversary dinner, this was a huge disappointment. My husband and I tried this place for dinner on our short trip to Avalon & safe to say we were nothing short of impressed! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! I could literally drink that shrimp scampi sauce it was so good! Super buttery and perfect amount of lemon with a slight taste of the Pinot Grigio, spectacular. I love that there was a good amount of shrimp on the side as well! Dipping the bread into the lemon butter sauce is a MUST! The fried ravioli was also very delicious would definitely recommend getting it as an appetizer. The sauce was excellent & the ravioli had the perfect amount of cheese inside. This is my first time trying "fried ravioli" and was not disappointed. My husband throughly enjoyed the chicken parm as well! Perfect amount of cheese and sauce on the cutlet itself for every bite! He even enjoyed the side of veggies, which is a rare occasion for him since he is not normally a veggie eater. This place blew me away! We are in Avalon on a short family vacay and was looking for some good eats. Food was incredible. Not just good but truly incredible. I had the Swordfish and it was probably one of the best I've ever had. No joke. Wife had the shrimp scampi and she loved it. Kids had pasta dishes that they said were delicious!
