It's always a vibe whenever I dine here! Plus, the menu has quite the variety, a little something for everyone!! Fish Tacos | Incredible! Each tasty bite is just full of flavor! Seasoned well, saucy & hearty! A combo of pico de gallo coleslaw, generous bites of fish, on a chili oil dipped tortilla... Yes, please! You get two tacos, which are spilling over with pieces of fish! I can hardly even eat both of them; perhaps, easily shareable! Also, you get warm tortillas and salsa! Beet Salad | One of my absolute favorites on the menu! The salad is large, bright, light and refreshing! It just tastes healthy in the best way! Lol! Also, I love beets! I've specifically come to this restaurant over and over for the beet salad and sometimes with salmon on the side, if I'm super hungry!! The salad is seasonal; not always on the menu! Pomodoro Pizza | Yum! Easily shareable, flavorful, especially with heirloom tomatoes, basil, mozzarella & garlic! Absolutely delicious! Onion Rings | Thick & flavorful! I highly recommend! They also arrive with two sauces! Drinks | Refreshing non-alcoholic drinks here are yummy! I also love the red wine selection! View/Scenery | Gorgeous views, whether you sit outside on the patio, outside over the water or inside! I've dined over the water several times with friends & solo! I've also enjoyed dining on the outside patio! I love it all! The views are just gorgeous of the boats, the island... beautiful! Taste Around Avalon | I was excited once I saw Pier 24 listed on the menu! The tacos and drink were once again delicious! They set up was really pretty as well, including lively music! Customer Service | Top of the line, super friendly, and I've seen several of the servers around the island! Hi, Cienna, Lana, Marcus & Valeria! They're all so nice! The manager is incredibly nice as well & it's always fun chatting with him as well! Overall | Yes, Please! I highly recommend Pier 24, it's one of my favorites! We decided to try Pier 24 because of its great location right next to the beach. The hostess was very friendly and quickly found us a table on the patio. There are umbrellas outside, but depending on where you're seated, you may need to adjust them for shade. Our server was polite, but the service felt a bit rushed and wasn't especially welcoming. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, double smash burger, lobster roll, and spicy bison meatball pizza. The lobster roll was the highlight of the meal itwas fresh, flavorful, and the best thing we ordered. The pizza was good, while the burgers and chicken sandwich were just average. Considering the prices, we expected the food to be more memorable. The location and atmosphere are definitely a plus, but overall we didn't feel the food offered the value we were hoping for. This restaurant and bar on the water has the best ocean views in Avalon! The deck with awnings facing the ocean is the best spot for lunch on a beautiful day! We came in for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed our meal so much with amazing harbor views. They have a nice lounge area for sports watching. They were showing FIFA World Cup matches but I am not a fan of soccer (football) so we didn't stay and watch. For lunch we had pomdori pizza, lobster roll and beef ribeye melt. The food was very yummy in large portions. I especially loved the veggie pizza. The service is usually a bit slow at this restaurant. But the servers are always so friendly and accommodating. They make very good Grey Goose dirty martinis here. This is definitely our favorite oceanfront lunch place in downtown Avalon! read more

Came for trivia night (Tuesdays at 6:30pm) and was pleasantly surprised! The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and I love that it has a view of the water and the mountains. The miso salmon was to die for, the short rib melt was solid, and the chicken taquitos were okay. I would definitely come back for the tender and flavorful salmon! Got an ocean front table, had great service and the food was tasty as well! We were pleasantly welcomed by the host and other staff as we walked through the restaurant and also as we sat someone other than the waitress stopped by to ask how we were doing. We went in because we were hungry but mainly because we saw someone on the patio eating a fluffy tall burger! So we had to go in and get one! While inside we also ordered a specialty milkshake that was gobbled up too. Waitress was very pleasant and kept our drinks filled. Plus ocean views to boot! Great experience. read more

First time having dinner at Pier 24 on a Saturday night. We had dinner for party of 11. We requested outside seating and they seated us outside with the view of the marina. Great customer service and breezy ambiance. Food was good. Our order consists of Catalina Cowboy Burger, Double Smash Burger, Fish Tacos, Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Roasted Salmon, Pastrami Sandwich, Poke Bowl, Pepperoni and Prosciutto Pizza and Fried Calamari. Our food arrived within 20-35 minutes from when we ordered. All our food arrived at the same time. Catalina Cowboy Burger was made of Bison Burger Patty. The bison meat was tender and juicy, really good. The sauce on the bison meat had the perfect amount of spice. Fish Tacos was prepared fresh and they didn't skimp on the fish. There were generous portions of fish in the Fish Tacos. Double Smash Burger was perfect. It wasn't over cooked. Poke Bowl needed a little bit of some sauce or spice. It was lacking taste and flavor. Pastrami Sandwich had plenty of shaved pastrami. It was very fulfilling. Short Rib Grilled Cheese has caramelized onions. It was so good. Roasted Salmon was cooked at the right temperature at medium well. We tried almost everything they had to offer on the menu. We can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu. read more

Our experience at Pier 24 was unfortunately very disappointing. Our waiter was polite and courteous, and we ordered three drinks, which we paid for. However, we were there for over an hour and never received our food. Meanwhile, guests who arrived after us were seated and served their meals before we received anything. What was most disappointing was the lack of attention from management. The manager appeared visibly frustrated and did not acknowledge the delay or offer an apology. The drinks were also not enjoyable. The drinks tasted watered down, and the Old Fashioned was probably one of the worst I've ever had. Even the lemon garnish looked like it had been used several times. My wife didn't even finish her drink because it was that unpleasant. The only thing I would recommend Pier 24 for is the view. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the service, food wait time, and drinks did not justify the visit. read more

Service was great and the place has a nice, relaxed vibe. Not too crowded, pretty quiet, and we got a table with a sea view -- really comfy. We had the fish tacos and pasta, both were super tasty. Only bummer is that water is extra, so knocking off one star for that. read more

Ordered 3 pizzas and they were ok. Too cheesy, is that possible? Yes actually! The fish tacos were great. The service was terrible. Our waitress spent most of her time talking to other staff that was standing around. No one noticed when we tried to flag them down for refills on iced tea. We were in the sun and tried to move umbrellas around to cover us and no one helped as they saw us. Idk just disappointing overall. The cook on the way out was super nice! Came here after a diving day before catching our boat back to Long Beach. We dive in Catalina often, but had not been here before. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage and the smash burger with onion rings. It was all just meh. The burger had a bit of an old gamey taste to it, making me believe it was probably not the freshest meat. I initially went with the burger as I figured it was hard to mess up- which was true assuming the meat was up to par. The onion rings were good, albeit a bit cold. The fryer oil seems like it should be turned down a bit to cook slower. My husband ordered a salad and was given the smallest cup of dressing. I'd highly recommend they start serving more dressing with their large salads. He also got a drink which he said was "okay". Overall this place was fine. It's convenient and had a great view, but I'm not sure I'd return. read more

I was on a cruise with carnival and this was our first stop. My sister and niece were hungry but didn't know where to go. My sister made a decision and we sat outside. Our waitress greeted us immediately with a smile and menus. I ordered a whiskey cocktail and decided on pizza! I was in the mood. Boy did it not disappoint. I ate that pizza with my eyes closed it was so delicious. The crust and the ingredients were amazing. Every bite, every morsel was like nothing I've ever had. Our waitress, Sienna (I believe) was very nice. I ordered the miso salmon and first bite I could tell it was not cooked well because it was not even hot. As soon as I cut it down the middle I saw it was very much not cooked properly. It was still very pink and wet looking. My daughter ordered steak and we did ask for it well done because the only option was rare. Her steak came to us blackened, looked like beef jerky. My niece ordered the chicken sandwich- first few bites seemed good however it was so over cooked it looked like thick rubber and you had to forcefully bite it. Our waitress did take my salmon back to have it re cooked- took about 15 minutes and when it came back it was just inedible. I should add that it still wasn't even hot. Tourist spot. I would consider the food being of nothing recommend quality. I would not consider what we experienced "service" by the host or the server. It felt like we were more of an annoyance for even being present from the time we walked through the door at the beginning of our day on the Island. If you would like water with your meal they said they don't have tap water available, only bottled water you may purchase. If they don't have tap water that passes for drinking quality, then why would anyone be okay eating from the dishes and utensils that was "washed" in same that water? Hard pass. read more

Friday night we tried to get in but they were closing. We always forget that restaurants close early in Catalina. Saturday night we were going to try the place Next door but the wait was 45 minutes. We came to Pier 24 to see how long the wait was and there was no wait! At 7pm on a Saturday. Not busy. We got a great spot outside with a beautiful view and it was nice and peaceful since it wasn't busy. We thought this might have been a sign that the food or service wasn't good. Then to our surprise, we had a great server. The drinks were good (well I just got a Michelob lol) and the double smash burger was amazing! It was a great time with a beautiful atmosphere. A big shout out to Serene N and the rest of the staff at Pier 24 for all they did last Sunday night for me and my family of 9. After M reneged on our reservation that was planned and reconfirmed multiple times (we were celebrating a Birthday milestone) we went across the street to Pier 24. They took us to their private dining room, gave us amazing food and service and saved the night. The Lobster Roll and Birthday Cake Shake did not disappoint--as well as the other entrees we ordered. At the end of the night, we received a visit by Serene who personally reached out having heard of the plight we had that night. That was above and beyond and I will never forget it. Food is as nothing special but what really stand out is the bad service. We were sat down immediately which was a good sign. We waited a long time for our waiter to come take our order. Then I was brought the wrong beer. I didn't bother to correct the guy since I might wait more time to get the correct one. Place is full of tourist my party been part of that. Pier 24 is a great spot located right on the water in beautiful Avalon, CA. Lana our host, was so kind and helpful.
