The halibut was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy. All washed down with a Heineken 0.0. Pretty darn good.

This is a very convenient location. If you want to be close to the water. Out towards the end of the pier, you have a full view of Avalon and Avalon Bay. The food is pretty good, a little expensive, but that's what's to be expected given the circumstances. I ordered grilled halibut with fries and everything was cooked properly. The service was fine, but the checker seemed a bit bored. Otherwise no complaints, and I would probably eat here again.

Fish and chips and calamari

Best fish and chips and calamari on the island! We eat here every summer and we always look forward to this delicious fish. You can also ask for no fries and double up on calamari instead. Service is always friendly and worth the long lines. The ambiance is very relaxed and most people order in swimsuits and just coming off the beach. We can't wait to come back next time for more delicious food!

Fried fish & shrimp were on point !!! Chili cheese fries needed help because they were bland. Coleslaw was really good. It was fresh, crunch and had a sweet taste to it. Yum! Not all tartar sauce is created equal, and this one passed the test. Cashier was super friendly! Give it a shot.

Calamari, clam chowder and fish n chips

We went on a boat tour and were super hungry afterwards. The people we toured with recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. We got fish n chips, calamari and clam chowder. All the food was so delicious and they had fast service.

There are so many places to get fish and chips on the island. I've always gone to Rosie's aka Avalon Seafood because it's central and in a historic location, but a few other places have bigger fish pieces for the same price (and that don't look like fish sticks). I'll still go to Avalon Seafood, but now I'll limit my order to their fresh fish, which still compares well with others.

This is more of an experience than a gastronomical treat. Located at the end of the Green Pier, it is a very interesting place to dine. All the seating is outdoors (see my pic) - so plan accordingly. There are great views of the harbor (see my pics). The people watching is great: people fishing from the pier, tourists either strolling the pier or catching a tour, or people going/coming from their anchored boats. All are fascinating to watch. We had their fish and chips, see pic. Our 3 pieces were a bit on the small side. The breading was very light and crisp. They were served piping hot. The fish was okay: rather firm yet still somewhat flaky. The fries were standard fare. It's an interesting place for the environment and to get a bite to eat.

We came here two days in a row for afternoon snacks. It's really the best fish & chips in town! It's a fast casual place at green pier so the views are great. We have tried a bunch of items off the menu. Fish & chips, grilled swordfish & halibut, fried calamari, swordfish sandwich, chili cheese fries and chicken wings. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. They serve beer & wine, I really enjoyed the spicy michelada. The service was very friendly and they kept everything clean all the time. A great casual place for seafood and beers with great views at the pier!

Fish and chips with a cold beverage, and a million dollar view.

I'm a self-proclaimed fish and chips snob, having been in Scotland while in the Navy for 2 years, so my standards are a bit high. I'd give the food a solid 4, breading is the key. Most US F&C is heavily breaded which is a no-no, but this was bery light. I prefer fillet-style pieces, these we more rectangular fish stick looking but a good amount of fish still. They got bonus points for having plenty of malt vinegar and salt available, and what got them from a 4 to 5cstars was they had good pricing on both the F&C as well as beer, while being on the pier in a California resort town. Great place, definitely the best deal we have had on our many trips to Catalina Island.

We stopped here for lunch on Thursday as we wanted to eat on the pier with the views and sounds of the water. They have a decent variety of seafood options on the menu. We ordered a seafood combo plate which came fried with 2 pieces of Shrimp, Fish, Calamari, scallops. We also got fish n chips, & a halibut sando. The halibut sandwich was my favorite, we added lettuce & tomato, it also came on a wheat bun that had a bit of sweetness to it. This is a cool little hole in the wall type place on the pier. I would eat lunch here again when returning.

$14 combo 2. 3 pc unseasoned fish and 2pc shrimp. Tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Underwhelming at best.

Basically I knew the food wasn't gonna be good in Catalina because that's what everyone says. So the expectations were met as the bar was set very low. Got the Combo #2 which was $14 + tax. 3 pieces of fish and 2 pc shrimp. With a side of choice (cole slaw, steamed rice or fries). The whole plate was nicely fried but the fish was not fresh and definitely unseasoned. No salt no pepper. Just plain batter on frozen fish. The view was spectacular so that added a star. The service was subpar but it's not like they expect people to ever come back to them or to the island. Catalina is a one day one time trip ever.

The place is so beautiful on the pier! The seafood is super fresh and the ceviche tostada is the best ceviche I've ever had. I had to go back later that day to get a second serving. Even the tostada tastes like they fry it themselves it's SO GOOD. I will say the only thing I don't like about this place is that they charge .25 for a tap water cup which I found odd.

This is a special place! The owner Caleb Lins has bought and preserved the name of my Grandpa and Grandma who started the Fish Market in 1967 . This iconic spot is known by all locals and regular visitors. My thanks to Caleb is much more than a great place to eat , he has taken care of my island family for years with gestures of generosity on all our comings and goings . If you haven't yet , block off time to eat here or support by making it a regular spot . Michael DeMers

I originally tried to order the poke bowl, but they were down a sushi chef and warned it would take up to an hour. Totally fair, so I pivoted to the grilled salmon and I'm glad I did. It was delicious. It looks whatever in the awful photo I took, but trust me, it slapped. I usually don't even like teriyaki because it's often way too sweet, but theirs was perfect. Balanced, not sugary, and the salmon was cooked exactly how I like it. Everything we had was really good across the board. No misses. Huge shoutout to KJ, our server, fantastic service. They also have some fun merch, and we couldn't resist grabbing a hat. Great food, great service. Love this spot and would absolutely come back.

That was quite frustrating, especially given the stated business hours. Only after mentioning that we were celebrating a birthday were we finally allowed to sit at a table. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself did not improve much from there. I ordered the fish entrée, which was approximately $45, and it consisted of a very small fillet with a minimal portion of mashed potatoes on the side. My partner's pasta was noticeably dry and lacked flavor. We also ordered cocktails, including a Mojito that tasted extremely diluted, with barely any alcohol, despite being priced around $18. Overall, the experience felt overpriced and underwhelming, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion.
