Every time I have come to Catalina since 2024 I have made sure to stop by the Flx Biergarten. Great beer, seltzer, and hard kombucha choices alone with N/A options like soda (coke products) Sizes are pints, steins, pitchers, and ((drum roll)) DA BOOT (64oz, don't worry you can share) They have yard games like cornhole and Beirut (beer pong). It's cool it being your own card games too. On the weekends I've caught some good live music, too! Hungry? They have all beef hot dogs, pretzel with beer cheese, polish sausages, pickled eggs, etc. Heatlamps and some fire pit tables are lit a night to keep you warm but keep in mind it's outside to check the weather and dress accordingly. I've been to Catalina solo, traveling alone as a woman I'm happy to report: I felt very safe and comfortable in the Biergarten. Bathrooms are in the back, in some of those fancy portable toilets (including a handicap ramped stall), so you don't have the leave the Gartën for anything. FLX Biergarden in Avalon is such a gem! The service was great from the moment we arrived, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We came during the winter, but it turned out to be one of those perfect warm island days, which made it even better to enjoy a nice cold drink outside. The decor is beautiful and super unique. There's an old-school looking bus that really stands out (you can spot it in my pics) and adds so much character to the place. The ambiance is relaxed and fun, with music playing, ping pong tables to hang out at, and plenty of space to enjoy the vibe. There's also a restroom conveniently located in the back, which is always appreciated. I got the belching beaver hard seltzer with a 5.5 percent alcohol and it was good and refreshing. He got the rincon indicator with a 7.1 percent alcohol. Overall, it's the perfect spot to kick back, enjoy the weather, and have a great time in Avalon. Highly recommend stopping by! read more

We were a big group with a lot of bags looking for a place to chill until we could check in to our accommodations and this place delivered! Michael was an awesome host! There's a lot of space with tons of seating. Perfect place to hang out on a beautiful day. Two beer pong tables were setup and ready to go when we got there, you do have to buy a pitcher of beer to play. There's also food here to, brisket and some other BBQ being offered. They had lots of different local and exotic craft brews to choose from. Loved the German wheat beer I had. Bathrooms are also clean, spacious, and fully functional with running water despite being in a trailer. Don't let the picture fool you, it's like 11am in late November. This place is awesome if you're ananything like me. I'm still an old school, beer pong, pitcher, beer flight, watching football guy. This spot does a great job of mixing the party with the laid back which is also the reason I love Catalina island. Most places are either desolate, or 100% full party. Look, you can obviously party hard here too...but my favorite part of the island is the laid back mix. This spot has more fire pits per capita than anywhere in the continental united states. Which, is an amazing thing, because ffire pits are natural dopamine enhancers, that just science. They allowed us in with our two year old and we ordered two beers on tap and a pretzel. It wasn't too busy on a Friday evening and we got a table right away. Though you can play beer pong, it was a chill vibe that day but perhaps it gets less toddler friendly later. Michael brought us an extra plate without asking, encouraged us to play and let the kid be a kid, and would check up on us. Last time I visited Catalina, this space was being used to rent golf carts. It has since been turned into a cool outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the sun and the breeze, have a cold beer, watch the game, and people watch. That is exactly what we did. There was some Olympic swim events on the TV and we sat and hung out for a while to get on the Main Street. The beer selections were tasty and the service was friendly. The restrooms were for customers only which means they were clean! Prices were comparable to others along the main strip in Avalon. Cool little spot for a Biergarten right in the heart of Catalina island. Didn't know it existed as it was the old spot for renting the golf cart around the island. Selections of beer seemed good.
