Found this gem while searching for somewhere to get my hair done and after reading several reviews, I decided to give them a try. It's hidden in a little shopping center and quite honestly I probably wouldn't have given it a try how to not read the reviews and I'm really glad I decided to try them out. Myla -I think that's how you spell her name cut my hair. As she was doing it I wasn't sure what the outcome would be but once she was done and she blow dried it to give it a bit of a style. My mom & I had such a lovely experience at M.K Salon! My mom got a touch-up & tone for her short hair. Maly did a cool blonde tone & even styled it into a soft blowout. For me, I got a fresh balayage. Maly fixed my previous bleach, toned my hair twice for the perfect shade, then gave me a nice cut & styled it beautifully. I honestly didn't know how to explain what I wanted, but I showed her a few inspo pics & she immediately knew what to do. Her salon is small & tucked away in a little plaza in Long Beach, but so worth finding! We actually know about her because my mom's coworker referred us! The atmosphere is so intimate with only 3 salon chair. Oh! She treated us to complimentary ramen & donuts lol. Prices are unbelievably affordable.. only $400 for both of us, including tip! That's rare these days!! The only small note is that Maly has a bit of a heavy hand while working!! My mom on the other hand said she actually loved it because it felt like a scalp massage . Wow! I had a really great experience here at CL Salon today. I decided I wanted to switch up my look and get a haircut along with some bangs so I hopped on Yelp and searched all of the locally-owned reputable hair salons within Long Beach. CL Salon appeared as one of the top salons and after reviewing such great reviews I decided to call as soon as they opened. The lady on the phone was nice enough to accommodate me for a same-day appointment so I arrived at 12:30 for my service. When it comes to finding a trustworthy salon to provide the requested services for hair it can be difficult as some salons are generally a hit or miss. However today at this establishment the women who assisted me today were welcoming and provided me with exactly I requested! I showed the first woman a picture of the wispy bangs I wanted and she provided exactly that. The first woman had another client to take care of so the second woman provided me the trim on my dead ends that I needed. My aunt accompanied me today and she was quite impressed as well with the overall service quality I received today. I arrived with extremely damaged hair and left with smooth and repaired hair thanks to a well executed trim. CL Salon definitely passed the vibe-check and gained a loyal client today. I can only speak about my experience with Richie, who has since sold the business and moved to Florida. I initially went to him for hair color, which he did well, and returned once more for color with similar results. Unfortunately, my final visit was for a haircut, and the experience was very different. He was extremely rough while brushing and handling my hair, which hurt my scalp. He also became unprofessional and suddenly angry, stating that because I had been late to a previous appointment, I was an inconvenience to him. The interaction felt very awkward, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. Based on this experience, I would not recommend him to anyone, wherever he is now. read more

Malynoch did amazing on my hair! I am genuinely speechless. I got a little over 4 inches cut off & bangs and she did fantastic. Going to a new place is always a little nerve racking but I love my hair! The stylist also gave me advice on how to style and straightened my hair so I could see the full effect. I don't think I would have ever found this place without Yelp. I gave an inspo pic (attached) and specified that I wanted longer layers. I absolutely love my hair but there were definitely moments of "trust the process" (i.e. cutting to length before blending) , but the results were worth it! I began a Yelp project to find a stylist and CL salon owner Khaner responded to my request fairly quickly and answered the questions I had. She has a 5 star rating with great comments so I decided I would give her a shot. I made an appointment for the next day and I'm so glad I did. Khaner made suggestions on the cut framing and got to work on incorporating my vision. After a few hours, I left the chair looking and feeling beautiful as ever. Since then, I have received so many compliments on the way my hair looks! It makes me so happy that I trusted her and she came through. I am thankful I believed the 5 star reviews from those that have received a service from Khaner. The studio was clean and she really tried to focus on one client at a time but since I had color treatment, she was able to take on a couple additional quick services. Im the most non problematic person & never thought I would be writing a review. I came here about 4 months ago to get my hair highlighted. I provided a picture from the start. The stylist made my natural dark brown roots way too light/bright, making just my roots look blonde & not matching the rest of my hair at all. A picture was provided multiple times, I mentioned I did not ask for that, she then toned it multiple times & washed it multiple times to give me the results I asked for in the beginning. After hours in the chair & washing my hair multiple times, I was finally satisfied with the result. Four months go by again & I decided to give her another chance to get my hair retouched, thinking maybe it was just a one-time mistake. This time, I was in the salon for over 6 hours again, and she made the same mistake all over again. I told her I wanted my roots light (my natural hair is dark brown) & to BLEND it with the rest of my highlights & hair-- Not blonde roots-- and I even provided multiple reference photos once again. But she kept making excuses and claimed I said "lighter," which she took as bright blonde. After the first wash I seen that there was a big spot of Blonde JUST on the top & in the certain of my head, AND my ROOTS did not blend with the rest of my hair at all. I mentioned it to her but she then tries to tell me it's because the rest of my hair is wet so it looks different, but was a huge difference. She then tried telling me that I asked for my roots to be that BRIGHT & LIGHT. But I knew what I asked for from the start. She then tried to fix the blonde on the top & certain of my head by toning & washing it 3x times. When my scalp started burning, I was told it was burning because she washed my hair multiple times, plus all the chemicals. The end result, once again, was just okay, and my scalp was irritated by the end of it. The price was $350, which she was clear about from the start. I ended up paying $300 because I felt guilty due to how long it took her. But looking back, I should've paid less due to how unprofessional it was, how long it took & her not going based off the pictures I provided for her MULTIPLE times which she only glanced at , at first . This entire experience felt unprofessional, careless, and exhausting. I genuinely tried to be patient and respectful but this is my honest review and experience. read more

Khan is an amazing stylist. She completed changed my hair from dark brown with a caramel balayage that I didn't like too much. It was done with a previous stylist. She corrected my balayage and changed my color to a honey blonde/bit of brown with highlights, and a shadow root which was my goal. The highlights remind me of cute chunky Y2K style highlights which I love. She also sells products at a affordable price to her clients because she cares. I bought a purple shampoo+conditioner set from her for $40 when original retail is around $65-$75. She is so kindhearted, takes her time, and really cares about making her clients happy. I am definitely returning and recommending anyone who needs a stylist! She also does men's hair which is a plus!!! A star because charge is reasonable and they were kind ppl‍ But at 1st walk in- something was amiss:/ Seems kinda standard haircut- to me- 1st thing is shampoo and conditioner. I had come from the gym so hair was sweaty. She proceeded to mist my hair w/ water. I made her aware my hair was sweaty and needed a shampoo 1st. I suppose shampoo/ conditioner is NOT standard and would be $10 extra to do so. Yup. Won't go much further in detail but I now have many uneven pieces of hair- the owner glanced at it and said it was "perfect" by the elder lady who did the cut. Needless to say- it's not. This was my first time to this salon. First, it's the simple things, lol. There was parking! I hate going to places where you can't find parking and then if you do, it's like 30 mins. Omg, all I have to say she is Magic. She gave my daughter the best hair cut. My daughter had been attempting to get the perfect layer, face frame and flare wisp haircut and this was the only place that nailed the cut! She is truly gifted. I called for Richie but was shocked to find out that he had moved to Florida. I was told that Khan, the new owner would take good care of me. He was absolutely corrected. This salon is not respectful of their clients time. I did not even get the chance to get a haircut, So I can't attest to the quality of their work. But, I called today and showed up for my 5:30 appointment only for the stylist to not even remember that I had an appointment. She was working on a clients hair and asked if I could wait a bit and I thought she meant 5 to 15 minutes max. By 6:00 she was still not done with her clients hair and had another one getting her hair washed, and the girl next to me was waiting to get her eyebrows done. I am a mother of an exclusively breastfed 3 month old, and my husband began texting me that our son was showing signs of hunger. If you know anything about being a new mother it's that you don't get a lot of time to yourself. I wanted the luxury of a simple haircut not even a wash. I had waited over 30 minutes and finally just left because if I had waited who knows how much longer it would be or how long the haircut would take. The least she could have done was be honest about how long it would take to get to me and send me home. Additionally this isn't even her first occurrence as someone else left a review less than a year ago of the same situation. Clearly a lesson has not been learned. I will not return. Completely disrespectful of my time and a waste of my already limited free time. read more

I've gotten highlights during the summer time and recently went back to my natural hair color, which Khaner matched perfectly!
