How am I supposed to get an appointment if nobody will answer the phone? I don't think I was rude. I've called on multiple different occasions and nobody will ever answer me. I've tried messaging and nobody answers back. Of course the service is terrible
Shear & Shine is a quality salon. I found them on Yelp in May 2019- that is 7 years ago!!!!!!! I have been going there since. First, it was Ken's tender care and soft spoken demeanor who was taking care me whether it' is coloring my hair , roots touch up, or shampoo and style. When Nika joined the Shear & Shine, I started asking for Nika. She is an excellent colorist, hair stylist, and also keeps my hair trimmed. She also does men's haircut with fade away and such. Nika will work with you and would make you comfortable. It is easy to trust her with your prized mane. As a colorist, Nika knows just the right shade of blond to cover my grays. I have received many compliments about my hair from women, men, and the younger generation. I have attached Nika latest treatment of my grays. Thank you Nika for always making me look good and special
LOVE SOREDA! Such a beautiful kind loving little lady! I will never not come back to her! Have been seeing her for a couple years and she is the best! Today I brought in my little sister (20) to have a cut she hadn't had since the last time I brought her in which was 4-5 years ago! Soreda never disappoints ! She exceeds expectations and I think all the stylists do as well. The feeling I got when I watched other guests was that they definitely have been here before .. asking about family or personal things.. it's a great vibe in there. All the stylists seem so kind and warm and funny very welcoming. I would suggest this place for sure and the prices can not be beat!
Benz has done it again folks!! I came here a few months ago for my first haircut with Benz. It was by far the best haircut I've had in years. My usual hairstylist whom I've been going to for over 15 years was unavailable for color and highlights so I thought why not give Benz a try. He exceeded my expectations. The top of my head upon arrival had about 6 inches of dark almost black roots. And my hair was extremely faded. Benz did the most beautiful shades of blonde and soft brown. When I posted the photos to my Instagram after EVERYONE was asking where I went and how they can get in too!! lol I took that as the best compliment ever. Also I was so surprised that Benz did a scalp and temple massage during washing, and a shoulder massage before blow dry. I'm absolutely blown away by the amazing treatment and quality I received. I highly recommend this salon and most of all BENZ!!!
I've been coming to Shear and Shine in Long Beach for years and absolutely love it! The salon is always clean with ample parking, which makes it so convenient. Ben, Soreda, Ken, and the rest of the team are amazing -- you can tell how much they care about their clients. So many people here are regulars, it really feels like a community where everyone becomes friends. They do cuts, color, and treatments, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of work. Weekends can get busy, so I definitely recommend booking an appointment. Highly recommend this place!
I truly love coming here. It was my first time ever coming in for hair dye, and Ben made the whole experience so comfortable and it came out absolutely beautiful. I get compliments everywhere. I loved it so much that I came back a few days later for a haircut, and once again I left so happy. Ben is always smiling, kind, and you can really tell he cares about his work. The shop is always busy, but the energy is so welcoming, and everyone who works here is friendly and great at what they do. You truly feel taken care of here. If you're thinking of coming in, go see Ben you won't regret it.

Update: I don't want to mislead people but after a few days as I washed my hair I suddenly noticed the difference of the first time I had my highlights. I saw some uneven parts of color after I straightened my hair to have a better view of my hair. It took me 4 days before I washed my hair and I already noticed the uneven tones. I even used a purple shampoo. Ken offered a free toning service but I had to pay $30 for shampoo and styling but what's the assurance of my hair getting fixed? And I have previously bleached hair so I can't afford to have breakage or have a worse outcome. I think somehow him being on the phone and with other clients without assistants checking on my hair took a toll on the process of bleaching of my hair. I had to get on and off his chair coz he had to cut another clients hair and it's not only once. Coz he was pretty booked. I'm sorry as much I would love to have a perfect rate for this salon especially because of their friendliness but I wasn't overall satisfied. It's salvageable if I will have to curl it so you won't notice but as a busy mom I can't afford to do that everyday. I had my hair done somewhere else that I didn't have to do that and my hair was completely fine. Maybe it was a miss that day. I don't know, but it's hard to gamble when it comes to your crown of glory. So just something to consider.
Soreda did an absolutely incredible job dyeing, highlighting, cutting, and styling my hair. She is a hair expert and I highly recommend her! I recently moved and was looking for a new stylist and she is by far one of the best I've come across. She is friendly, efficient, and listens to what you want. 10/10 experience.
Wonderful and talented stylists who did an incredible job with my daughter and my sons. Particularly good with hair coloring as you can see with the pictures. Very pleasant to talk to, great with kids, and great talent all around.

I love, love, love the way Soreda cuts my hair! When you ask for a trim, she really listens and gives you exactly that. Last time I asked for layers, and she did such a beautiful job. I always leave happy with my hair! read more

I recently moved to long beach and have been meaning to find a place to get my hair cut and colored, and i am really happy with this place :D i had Soreda and she was so friendly and did such a pretty job on my cut and color. im so happy with my hair after the service! i will definitely be coming back for future cuts and touch ups :) read more

10 out of 10 experience! I highly recommend I haven't had a hair cut since 2022 and I have extremely long and thick hair. I set up an appointment with Benz because I seen so many great reviews with him. I was nervous because my hair is my "safety blanket" but i was planning to chop a lot off. Benz was so nice and gave me exactly what I wanted. I got a huge chop, layers, curtain bangs, and it was styled. I was charged $45 for everything, I can't believe how reasonable their prices are! Got hair cut from Nika for first time. Appt was made day before. She was very professional and her touch was very gentle. From beginning, she asked and guided me with clear communication on what I hoped to receive. After the cut, she styled for me and I was very satisfied. I've done the so fancy for you salon life for almost all of my haircuts. The wine and hair wash at upscale places is nice but at the end of the day the cut is the most important. Ken gets it done and he is so calming, sweet and thoughtful with styling. He knows his stuff and makes sure to understand what you want while also suggesting things based on your hair type. $25 a cut. He styled it so beautifully like I was going to a gala. So the test was what it would look like after a shower and no styling (aka my normal daily life) and... I LOVE my new layers. If you want talented hair stylists and like a no fuss, welcoming, relaxed environment, this is your spot. read more

I have premature grays all over my head since I've been in high school. It was a pain. I had to dye my roots every month just to hide my embarrassment. During quarantine I let my roots grow wild and after six months I decided it was time to tame the bean sprout farm amassing all over my scalp. I just let Ken do his magic and he was able to do a low maintenance hair color that blended the grays. They way he balayaged my hair allowed my grays to grow longer in between root touch up. I love how my hair color came out and next time I plan to go brighter and go full on mushroom gray. Even if you're in your 20s and graying, Ken and Soreda have the best solutions for you! If you'd like something like this, definitely have a consultation with them!!! read more

I've been here so many times over the years, and I've never been disappointed! They've made be blonde, pink-haired, short-haired, red-haired, blonde, and brunette. They do it all, complete with a blow-dry and style. I love them! Benz turned my grown out, partially gray, dry old highlights into a beautiful brunette. Thank you! I found Shear and Shine on Yelp and thought this was a convenient place for me to go since it's not too far from where I live. Now, I'm a loyal client and have been going to their Salon for color, highlights, shampoos and blowouts. The team of KEn and Surida are very professional in their treatment of their clients. One can sense the positive and happy vibes of their Salon. I miss my hairstylist of 10+ years since her family moved to another State and I feel so fortunate to have found Shear and Shine. Both Surida and Ken are experienced in all types of hair color and hair types. Sometimes I ask for straight blowouts, sometimes loose wavy curls and sometimes tight curls and they are just happy to oblige. I am now a loyal client. read more

Yes we do keratin treatment, it last 4 to 6 months depending on your hair, price is $150 and up.
Do any of u know do they offer Keratin treatment for frizzy hair?
Ken has mentioned it to me before. I think it's around the $50-$70 range but don't quote me. Ken has done wonders for my frizzy hair/split ends.
How much is it to get a balayage on long length hair?
Balayage is $150 and up depending on your hair.
Do they cut hair dry?
They can do both. I asked them to cut my hair dry since I had already shampooed it prior.
How much is haircut and a single color?
They have to see your hair, come into the salon or give them a call. They have reasonable prices.
How much is a haircut?
For woman is $25 if u want shampoo cut and style is $35 to $45.
