LOVE SOREDA! Such a beautiful kind loving little lady! I will never not come back to her! Have been seeing her for a couple years and she is the best! Today I brought in my little sister (20) to have a cut she hadn't had since the last time I brought her in which was 4-5 years ago! Soreda never disappoints ! She exceeds expectations and I think all the stylists do as well. The feeling I got when I watched other guests was that they definitely have been here before .. asking about family or personal things.. it's a great vibe in there. All the stylists seem so kind and warm and funny very welcoming. I would suggest this place for sure and the prices can not be beat! read more

Benz has done it again folks!! I came here a few months ago for my first haircut with Benz. It was by far the best haircut I've had in years. My usual hairstylist whom I've been going to for over 15 years was unavailable for color and highlights so I thought why not give Benz a try. He exceeded my expectations. The top of my head upon arrival had about 6 inches of dark almost black roots. And my hair was extremely faded. Benz did the most beautiful shades of blonde and soft brown. When I posted the photos to my Instagram after EVERYONE was asking where I went and how they can get in too!! lol I took that as the best compliment ever. Also I was so surprised that Benz did a scalp and temple massage during washing, and a shoulder massage before blow dry. I'm absolutely blown away by the amazing treatment and quality I received. I've been coming to Shear and Shine in Long Beach for years and absolutely love it! The salon is always clean with ample parking, which makes it so convenient. Ben, Soreda, Ken, and the rest of the team are amazing -- you can tell how much they care about their clients. So many people here are regulars, it really feels like a community where everyone becomes friends. They do cuts, color, and treatments, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of work. I desperately needed a trim and decided to try this little salon. Because I have curly hair, I was a little hesitant to go. I don't trust people with my hair but, I read the great reviews and gave it its best judgment. When entering it was clean and very welcoming. Nika was the gal who cut my hair and she was extremely thorough and even cut my hair DRY because she KNEW how curly hair worked. She gave me so many helpful tips on how to keep my hair hydrated, it was extremely comforting knowing she cared about my hair and the way I like to style it. I got home this evening and washed my hair, I kid you not my hair looks so cute after air drying! Turned out better than when I was there! I will definitely be returning to see Nika! read more

I truly love coming here. It was my first time ever coming in for hair dye, and Ben made the whole experience so comfortable and it came out absolutely beautiful. I get compliments everywhere. I loved it so much that I came back a few days later for a haircut, and once again I left so happy. Ben is always smiling, kind, and you can really tell he cares about his work. Ben did a great job on my highlights. I have agoraphobia so as soon as I sit in a salon chair my anxiety is through the roof but Ben was really nice about it. I asked for caramel highlights and he did a great job and also gave a little massage in the bowl. Update: I don't want to mislead people but after a few days as I washed my hair I suddenly noticed the difference of the first time I had my highlights. I saw some uneven parts of color after I straightened my hair to have a better view of my hair. It took me 4 days before I washed my hair and I already noticed the uneven tones. I even used a purple shampoo. Ken offered a free toning service but I had to pay $30 for shampoo and styling but what's the assurance of my hair getting fixed? And I have previously bleached hair so I can't afford to have breakage or have a worse outcome. I think somehow him being on the phone and with other clients without assistants checking on my hair took a toll on the process of bleaching of my hair. I had to get on and off his chair coz he had to cut another clients hair and it's not only once. Coz he was pretty booked. I'm sorry as much I would love to have a perfect rate for this salon especially because of their friendliness but I wasn't overall satisfied. It's salvageable if I will have to curl it so you won't notice but as a busy mom I can't afford to do that everyday. I had my hair done somewhere else that I didn't have to do that and my hair was completely fine. Maybe it was a miss that day. I don't know, but it's hard to gamble when it comes to your crown of glory. So just something to consider. read more

10 out of 10 experience! I highly recommend I haven't had a hair cut since 2022 and I have extremely long and thick hair. I set up an appointment with Benz because I seen so many great reviews with him. I was nervous because my hair is my "safety blanket" but i was planning to chop a lot off. Benz was so nice and gave me exactly what I wanted. I got a huge chop, layers, curtain bangs, and it was styled. I was charged $45 for everything, I can't believe how reasonable their prices are! What a wonderful and relaxing experience! I went in with significant split ends, and thought I would have to chop a lot of hair off, but my stylist Nika, gave me a thoughtful and careful haircut to reshape my style and preserve as much lenght as possible. Her demeanor was so peaceful and gentle, and the haircut so peaceful, I almost fell asleep. That alone, made my experience so pleasant. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I made an appointment on Monday for today (Friday) at 9am. The man who scheduled me on the phone that day said I was all set for my appointment for Friday the 7th at 9am! He said it himself! Just for me to wait an HOUR in the parking lot and have no one show up. The place was closed. I decided to leave after waiting an hour just for them to call me 10 minutes after saying they had me for tomorrow. Which is WILD. I came here back in 2021 and it was a great experience clearly I've been gone for to long. Keep your money spend it on a place that values your time. read more

I've done the so fancy for you salon life for almost all of my haircuts. The wine and hair wash at upscale places is nice but at the end of the day the cut is the most important. Ken gets it done and he is so calming, sweet and thoughtful with styling. He knows his stuff and makes sure to understand what you want while also suggesting things based on your hair type. $25 a cut. He styled it so beautifully like I was going to a gala. So the test was what it would look like after a shower and no styling (aka my normal daily life) and... I LOVE my new layers. I have premature grays all over my head since I've been in high school. It was a pain. I had to dye my roots every month just to hide my embarrassment. During quarantine I let my roots grow wild and after six months I decided it was time to tame the bean sprout farm amassing all over my scalp. I just let Ken do his magic and he was able to do a low maintenance hair color that blended the grays. They way he balayaged my hair allowed my grays to grow longer in between root touch up. I love how my hair color came out and next time I plan to go brighter and go full on mushroom gray. Even if you're in your 20s and graying, Ken and Soreda have the best solutions for you! It's hidden in a little shopping center and quite honestly I probably wouldn't have given it a try how to not read the reviews and I'm really glad I decided to try them out. Myla -I think that's how you spell her name cut my hair. As she was doing it I wasn't sure what the outcome would be but once she was done and she blow dried it to give it a bit of a style. It looks so beautiful. She cut about 3 inches to get most of my dead ends out. If I'm ever in the area & I need a haircut. I would absolutely come back again.

This can be hard to do, especially since I have ethnic hair and about a decade of vivids, henna color, and other experiments in my hair. I came in with blue and purple fun hair. This is my hair after two sessions and she's done a great job delivering on Grey blending. She found an ashy beige that would work with blending in with my silvers. She really understands color. Rizza also has very chill energy and listens to your requests. I also needed to handle personal medical stuff during my appointment and she was very helpful about it.

The owner (originally from Chicago) explained the buildout and history of his shop, as he delicately cut a guys cut. My stylist was a sweetheart and it almost felt like a bargain, as she did such a nice job for a reasonable price. She even showed me a coffee table book, showcasing her & her family during the aftermath of a major Southern California earthquake (Northridge Quake, 1994). All very interesting and informative, indeed! Parking is very easy and you can grab a snack around the corner before your appointment. What's not to love? Can't recommend this place enough!

She was incredibly patient, really took the time to understand what I wanted, and helped me choose a color combination that turned out even better than I imagined. BFFR Period…read morepoint blank I have made time out of my days to commit to our appointments and the first time I did have to change the appointment I stated IF SHE CANT ITS FINE WE CAN STICK TO ORIGINAL, no biggie I can make the original, and then she cancels like bruh we could have stuck to the original & then I couldn't say yes to appointments offered the following day or week because: 1. I had a flight the next day like at 6am 2. when I return I go back to school Mon- Thurs literally 10am -3:30pm and then 6:30pm-9 3. I work 14 hour shifts Fri- Sunday . Not once did she offer if I'd like another stylist , not once did she offer a real accommodation . Let's be real and hold accountability , because this second cancel the day of appointments, messaging me hours before on IG asking to move my appointment earlier to then canceling is WILD . Original : I know the stylists have their own way of booking or dealing with affairs apart of the salon but I think it's wild they have a rebooking fee of over $30 if client has to reschedule last minute their appointments BUT when I get my appointment canceled TWICE by the stylist ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT , due to "family emergencies" that apparently always happen. I think it's wild that a stylist can waste a clients time and day considering the first time it was canceled I had planned to get my hair cut before my birthday trip and today it got canceled I had just told my boss no to coming in for a shift because of my scheduled appointment ... what do we clients get in return besides wasted time and lost money ? At least she returned my $20 deposit that has been kept since August but damn , homegirl really needs to take care of home before taking appointments , we have a life out here too.

She talked to me but I was having a rough day and didn't feel like being a big talker and I didn't feel pushed into that. I didn't feel pressured into making conversation. Heather was able to read me well. The hair washing experience is pretty new to me ( i haven't had a cut in 2ish years) and it was so soothing. As she cut my hair she was explaining the steps being taken. Everyone else there also seemed super nice. They were laughing with each other and with their clients. I genuinely felt comfortable. My hair came out exactly how I asked. She just read me like a book. I got so many compliments from the other stylists and from my friends at work. I felt super confident with my cut. Thanks Heather !!
