Wow, a wonderful gem here in Arcadia/San Gabriel! I have been going to Meet You BBQ for skewers, but I might have to start coming here now! Service is ok. You order on the QR code anyway. Skewers are 4 for $7.99, which is on the pricier side imo. I loved the lamb soup. It was a big bowl for $14.99. I also got the spicy vermicelli $14.99, which had a lot of fatty meat. It was good but could have been spicier. I didn't like that I had to ask for the bbq seasoning. I think they should just keep it at every table. I think I might have missed the white buns on the menu? I would have liked to order that. I also want to try the shredded potato dish next time! -Small parking lot, next to HOP cafe -Closes really late, like 4AM -Credit card/Apple Pay accepted -Bathroom in the back

M Bar BBQ is a lively Chinese snack bar that seems to specialize in skewers. The environment is very loud with both loud customers and loud music. They were playing the best of Andy Lau on the day of my visit. If you know you know. The staff here were all super friendly and nice. There was a QR code for me to scan and order, but staff came along to check on me sufficiently. They brought me water and complimentary nuts and pickled veggies. I ordered Garlic Cucumber Salad ($7.99), Oysters ($14.99/4 piece), Chicken Skin ($6.99/4 skewers), Pork Belly ($6.99/4 skewers), Shao Bing, Chicken Gizzards ($6.99/3 skewers), Chicken Hearts ($7.99/3 skewers), Tornado Potato ($3.50/1 skewer), Squid ($5.99/1 skewer) and Beef ($7.99/4 skewers). For the record I tried a little bit of everything and mostly took it togo, but I was curious about so many of the menu items I over ordered. They were a bit heavy on seasoning but it was mostly tasty and super flavorful. This is definitely the spot to go to if you want to catch up with friends and get a little rowdy. I can definitely see myself coming back for more snackies.

Great food and nice people here. I ordered BBQ lamb and Beijing style fried sauce noodle. Super love the lamb, juicy and soft. The noodle is covered in plenty sauce and minced pork, and shredded cucumber. Plus, it is inexpensive at all. I Would definitely come back next time.

I was craving for BBQ skewers, and found this place on yelp. The good reviews caught my eyes. The restaurant was not too busy when I came by. There is a small parking lot available, and parking was very easy. We placed the order online. We ordered beef, lamb, chicken skin, chicken gizzard, short ribs, egg fried rice, and siubang. Food was served promptly on a hot plate to keep the food warm. I am a big fan of chicken gizzard, but the chicken gizzard was decent without surprise. The beef and lamb were very flavorful, tender, and juicy. The lamb was more lean, and the beef had more fat in it. The chicken skin was very crispy that was like chips! The siubang was tasty, but it had some spice that will numb your tongue. Finally, egg fried rice was such a big surprise that the rice was very moist, and it was very flavorful! My server was impressive that she was very attentive of what I need and she offered me things before I asked for them. For example, she brought me an extra spoon and bowl to eat my fried rice. Mandarin music was playing in the background, which made me feel at home.

First review of 2026 So my friend and I were hungry and was hankering for some chinese skewers last night. This place was surprisingly really good, reasonably priced, and the vibes were chill. Open late that has a cute chinese bar vibe with drinks and good food. Service was on point too. This place reminded me of the late night skewer places with lounge vibe in China. I love those places when i go. We found this place on yelp and tbh was hesitant at first because it was new and it didnt have a lot of reviews. There has been alot of skewers places popping up and most are over saucy or powdered to mask the food. But it was closer to where we were so we decided to give it a try. The place is pretty authentic and you know it is if its has local chinese customers walking in and ordering like they do in China. Lol i actually love the skewers places in China. Everything we ordered was surprisingly good. The spices and seasonings were not overpowering and well balanced. They let you order off a paper menu written in English and Chinese or on their qr code. The qr code is better because you can earn points and actually may get discount on your first order. Also the qr code allows you to easily you make adjustments to seasonings like if you want no spicy or less seasoning or no onion etc... removes the hassle of verbally remembering to communicate it. My friend and i were really surprised how good everything tasted and the price of alcohol and food was very reasonable. Even bottle water was like $.50 for Kirkland water. Some other places has the audacity to charge up to $2-3 for that. All in all will be back.

Very nice and yummy food. Excellent services. Restaurant is nice and new. Great parking lot too. They have a very nice patio too. Will be back for sure to try more food.

Food was great. Love our skewers, beef, pork belly, lamb ( for Easter!!!) Garlic cucumber was super good. Dumplings pork and chive were perfect. Fried chicken and potato tornado were awesome. We liked artic ocean drink was good and milk tea. Peggy and team were so kind with great service. Music got a little loud sometimes Thank you for being open last night after Midnight Mass Easter service!!!

My family came to M Bar BBQ after a late concert since they're open until 2AM. From the outside it's hard to tell they're open because the windows are blacked out, but once inside it's clean, and spacious, with plenty of parking out front. This is a Chinese BBQ skewer spot, but instead of a tabletop charcoal grill, they cook the skewers for you and serve them on a hot plate to keep them warm. We got lamb, beef, pork belly, quail eggs, scallops, plus the garlic cucumber salad--everything was really good, and the cucumber salad was a standout. Our daughter got the potato tornado, but they put a bit too much of their spicy sauce on it (same with the quail eggs). The flavor was good, just a little heavy-handed, so next time we'd ask them to go light on the sauce. You order by scanning a QR code and adding items from your phone, which made it super easy to keep ordering more. Service was good and friendly. The vibe was fun, with '80s Chinese music videos playing karaoke-style on the TVs, which gave the place a nostalgic, late-night hangout feel. Great late-night spot for skewers--we'd come back

This place has such a fun vibe. I've been here twice with friends and the food has been amazing every time. The crawfish, skewers, wings, and cucumber salad are all super flavorful. Staff is friendly, service is on point, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay longer. Definitely coming back again!

I've walked past this place countless times since it's right in my neighborhood, and I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot today. Everything was surprisingly delicious. The lamb skewers was the highlights, but truly, everything we ordered was spot on. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, which makes the vibe even better. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Mac n' chowder, and it was a perfect mixture of clam chowder and Mac n cheese in a bread bowl. It was definitely a unique dish! The rest of my party ordered the traditional pan roast with assorted seafood, and after tasting it, I wished I had more room in my stomach! While I don't eat oysters, everyone else did and I heard nothing but good things. They even ordered another dozen (for a total of 3 dozen)! Service was fantastic. We were also able to call and get our names down for a reservation, which I'm glad we did since it started getting very crowded with a long wait during dinner time. There's plenty of parking in the lot and below ground parking structure. I would 100% come back here again and recommend it to others!

Because the wait time was too long for that, we decided to try The Dive Oyster Bar -- and man are we sure glad we did. We got a total of five items: a bowl of clam chowder, the soft shell crab appetizer, the roasta, the traditional pan roast with the house speciality protein (with the crab on the side because of my dad's crab allergy), and the jambalaya, which for the last three we ate with medium heat. We shared everything (except for the crab appetizer because, again, crab allergy for dad) and found the food to be delicious, with each entree coming out tasting better than the last. Personally, the roasta was my favorite with the pan roast as a close second. Very flavorful dishes with medium heat being a good level for us (wasn't spicy for our Korean palates). Service was great, our server (unfortunately forgot his name) was attentive and quick with our requests, and although he forgot a side of rice, it was for the best as the food had settled in our stomachs by then and we were content with what we ordered. The restaurant itself is well maintained with ample table space and appropriate lighting, though the music from the evening DJ was a tad bit too loud to hear from across the table. Not a big mood killer for us, though mostly because the good was that good. We're not from this area, so the odds of coming here again are relatively slim -- but should the opportunity present itself, it'll be more than fate this time to take us through these doors once again.

Parking was easy when we arrived shortly after opening. The ambiance is fairly simple and what you'd expect from this type of restaurant, but the warm welcome from Kelly immediately set a great tone. She greeted us with the sweetest smile, took excellent care of our table throughout the meal, and was genuinely awesome. We ordered the crab-and-shrimp combo with added broccoli and corn, and it was really good. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. We also tried the duck, which was sold out by the time we arrived, but we were able to take some home. The skin could have been crispier, and the meat was slightly underdone for our preference. After a quick finish in the air fryer, though, it was delicious. The biggest surprise was the catfish: perfectly cooked fish in a flavorful, not-too-salty broth with lots of bean sprouts, peanuts, cabbage, and cured meat. It had great umami and was easily one of the standout dishes of the meal. The scallion beef pancake was good as well. The pancake itself was excellent--crispy, savory, and satisfying--although the beef could have used a bit more seasoning. Still, the pancake really carried the dish. The side dishes were also impressive. The garlic beef was excellent, and we enjoyed the spicy tofu. The sesame balls were the one item that could use some improvement; they seemed as though they had been sitting out a bit too long, so the exterior had dried up. Keeping them under warming lights or serving them fresher would make a difference. To top it off, the owner came by to check on us and personally said goodbye when we left. That extra hospitality really added to the experience. Overall, a great new addition to Pasadena. Friendly service, flavorful food, and plenty of dishes worth returning for. We'll definitely be back!

We had an incredible feast and would come back to reorder all of the dishes we tried this visit and more: Goi Xoai Muc ($15.99) - Mango salad with squid. Very light and refreshing. This is an unripe mango thinly cut and mixed in with traditional Vietnamese herbs. It also comes with some shrimp chips to funnel up this delicious salad. Oc Mong Tay Mo Hanh ($18.99) - Razor clams grilled with scallion oil. One of the least flavorful items by compare. Both my friend and I felt like the scallion oil was very light on these razor clams but enjoyed it with the sauces from other dishes. Oc Mo Bo Toi ($24.99) - Fat snails prepared garlic butter style. Delicious. These bigger snails makes them easier to pick them out with the skewers they serve this with. Ngheu Xao Bo Toi ($16.99) - Clams prepared garlic butter style. Yum. Juicier compared to the snails and absorbs the sauce well. The clam shell makes it easy to scoop up the sauce and drink it. Oc Len Xao Dua ($16.99) - Sea snails in a coconut milk sauce. One of my favorites but I know it's one of the more difficult ones to eat, cause you'll have to suck on it really hard to get the snail out. But the sauce is delicious and unique. So Diep Trung Cut ($15.99) - Scallops with quail eggs. Highly recommended by staff, They mentioned this was a popular dish. Very decadent. It was a smidge too much food for 2 people but when I asked my friend if she would remove anything, she mentioned it was all a good variety for the meal. The razor clams were probably the most flavorful while the other seafood items fell flat and bland. I'm not sure if the chef didn't let it seep thoroughly in the sauce but it wasn't busy at 5 pm when we came in so there was not rush hour. My biggest gripe was that the hot pot came with the tiniest portions of vegetables. Prices are quite high and I've been to other places recently with a larger party so I was quite disappointed. The passion fruit soda did not taste freshly squeezed and seemed artificial which was also a major letdown.

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.
