This is a hidden gem. We went there for breakfast. The coffee is excellent, a smallish cafe with good coffee, a winner. The breakfast was very good, my standard eggs over easy, sausage links, potatoes and rye toast. Prepared to perfection and ready very quickly. I stopped for breakfast one early weekday morning. In a mid sized strip mall on Sheldon and Cherry Hill. The mall and the diner are bright, in good repair, and clean. The staff is nice. The food was good and served quickly. Prices were okay. It is not the diner's fault, but there was a group of retired men sitting near each other calling out stories and quips in overly loud voices and otherwise not doing much other than killing time. But after having enjoyed a variety of menu items I can see myself driving out of the way to get my food from here. The place is a mom and pop diner. There seems to be a lot of senior citizens who patronize this place. It's because the food is good and affordable. It's a lot like homemade. The salads are delicious. I love the comfort soups they serve. One that was new to me was the hamburger soup! If you want a breakfast for lunch or a meal to go, you can try M and M diner and maybe add them to your list of pitstops for your daily routine. I also have to comment on the staff. I had some time to kill before the grocery store opened and I happened upon this little Cafe. I was immediately greeted and my order was taken quickly. I opted for the farmers omelete with a side of well done bacon. The omelet was overstuffed, in a good way, with meat, hashbrowns, onions, green pepper, and cheese. It came out quick too. Good, not great, but I'd come back to explore the menu. I went for breakfast, so I couldn't try any of the Greek options, not even baklava. I got a half order of biscuits and gravy, and it was pretty generic. Not awful, but dense biscuits, gravy that seemed out of a can. Okay, but not great. Also oatmeal, to offset that a bit. It was better, seemed homemade, came with a tray with raisins, brown sugar, half and half, etc. Both were big portions for the price. I got a Pepsi and an orange juice and still only paid around $10. Service was pretty good. The place is clean and comfy, but a bit dated. A good neighborhood diner, nothing exceptional, but I'd be back a lot if I lived nearby. read more

For the first time in several weeks, my wife and I had the opportunity to grab a sit down meal inside a dining establishment. Due to Covid-19 fears and social distancing mandates in the state of Michigan, many business/restaurant owners have been struggling to make ends meet. Thankfully these restaurants are slowly able to reopen their doors again beyond simply takeout or delivery. To be perfectly honest this wasn't planned. We just happened to be in the area that morning and just had a craving for a good breakfast. M&M Cafe was conveniently nearby so we gave it a shot. Small and simple diner not unlike any Coney Island you've ever been to. The staff were warm and friendly and you could tell they were happy to be finally serving customers face to face (while still following protocols but course). We loved everything we ate. It wasn't the best breakfast of all time, but it really hit the spot after months of not being able to just sit in a restaurant and be at peace with my wife. If you do get the gyro omelette, I highly recommend the tzatziki sauce to go with it. Wonderful experience all around. read more

I have been to this place around four times, and I really like coming here. They are more like a traditional Mom & Pop coney island/cafe, but offer some more sections, including seafood, and pasta dishes. Likewise, their portions are very large, and you won't leave the table feeling underfed. Mostly, I've visited the M&M during the lunch hour. If you're not in a hurry, and enjoy a good sit-down meal this is a great place to eat at. I've always liked their sandwiches, but their homemade soups are fantastic. While some people love soup out of a can, you can't beat freshly made soup like this, especially when it's freezing weather outside. You can feel the good vibes it gives off, as it warms you from the inside out. I have to admit that the Turkey Reubens at this place very good as well. While not the absolute best I've ever had, it beats out a lot of other greasy spoons I've been to over the years. The cook doesn't pay attention to orders and the waitress had no concern serving food not as ordered. Look, if I'm going to pay $12 for breakfast and want my hash browns well done...please do it. They were barely warmed. Order eggs over easy, don't serve them broken. Why not send it back? Kitchen spite, time and food waste. First Time for carryout. Haven't been here in years but was looking for quick take out near the house. Ordered Friday Special if Fish & Mac and also ordered a Cobb Salad. Food was received as ordered. And fish n mac was hot. Fish was tasty and enough. Big serving of Mac & cheese that was fairly tasteless. Almost tasted like chicken seasoning. Def no cheesy goodness. Didn't even know this place existed til about a month ago. I'm always lookin for good breakfast joints, figured I'd give this place a whirl. I get off work at 7:30am, so breakfast for dinner is kinda my thing, for better or worse. Kinda had high hopes cuz of all the good reviews, but overall it was kind of a let down. Saw this awesome looking cinnamon French toast on the menu cover, even says they sell it in loaves if you so choose. So I'm thinkin it must be good! Nah. Ho-hum. Dull and lifeless. Tastes like you coulda made it at home. Also tried the home made corned beef hash. The plus side was that there was a lot of corned beef. But it still seemed like sliced lunch meat corned beef to me. Green peppers were raw-ish, yet the hash browns were way overdone. The kind of overdone where they lose that potato-y quality and seem more like shoestring potato chips. Hate that. And then my biggest pet peeve. Sticky table. The worst. It don't take much to give the table a lil wipedown with a wet washcloth. Hell, you could even use the one rag that gets used over and over again for every table, I wouldnt know. At least my arms won't stick to the table. my husband and I wanted a quick lunch and stopped here for something to eat. It was 2:30pm and I noticed the sign on the door said they close at 3:00pm. We walked in and the first thing I noticed was that the greeter/ server looked at the clock, rolled her eyes, and sighed. I noticed there were people in two other booths and the one table hadn't placed their order yet. The server came over to take our order, albeit not looking very happy. My husband asked what their specials were and was told they don't have any as the kitchen is closing. So, we placed our order from the menu, as we were told to do. My husband's order was to come with brown gravy. When his meal arrived, there was no brown gravy. He asked about it and was told that there wasn't any gravy...the kitchen was closing. While we ate our meal, our server and another person swept the floors around us. We left the restaurant at 2:45pm. with the other two tables still having the customers there. We have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. They should close the restaurant at 2:00pm if they need to be done cleaning and out the door by 3:00pm. The food here is only mediocre and is no loss to us that we won't be back. Whatever hours a business has posted that they are open, should mean you are welcome to come in until we close. As business owners ourselves, I can tell you that's how we operate. read more

This place isn't too bad. The coffee was not rough, dark and strong but it wasn't light either it was just right. I had the M & M Omelette and it was pretty good, it has Corned beef, green peppers, onions and melted Cheddar cheese on the inside. It was very fulfilling. When I asked for Hot sauce the waitress brought it right away. She was very quick, polite and on her game. The food didn't take more than 5 minutes to come out and for being fast service it was really good. However, I did discover a fruitfly flying around our food but I'm sure that is pretty common at a lot of restaurants. The vibe is very laid back, it's not hugely packed. It is just the right amount of ppl to enjoy ur time here. I would come here again and try something different to change up the taste but all in all this omelette was good. The bill wasn't too bad either, this place isn't pricey at all. We got alot of food for under $20. read more

We found this place 3 months ago and we have returned at least once a week since then. We love their breakfast specials, French Toast, .99 coneys on Monday, and nightly dinner specials. Most of their food is scrumptious with a nice homemade flavor. Awesome and friendly staff and owners. They spend time to learn your name and menu preferences. Ms. Shelia is our favorite! She is always welcoming, sweet and attentive. The food value is incredible, the location is ideal for us and staff is the best. What else can I say? Check them out! This is a little small Cafe and has a very warm friendly feeling. The food is just okay; nothing spectacular. However the service is wonderful because it is such a small restaurant the servers come and check on you often and make sure that your coffee is always filled. After reading the reviews for this restaurant I was really excited to try it! However, I was a tad bit let down! When you first enter the location you see that it's pretty small inside and there are only booths (which was a let down), it looked pretty clean inside, and it felt like a family environment. Once I sat down I noticed that the tables were sticky which felt disgusting on my hands. The waitress was super nice. I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla as well as the cinnamon French toast which looked amazing in the pictures. Once I receive my food the quesadilla was huge, there was lettuce and tomato on the side, as well as a sour cream and salsa cup. The cinnamon French toast did not look exactly like the picture had shown it to be, it looked less delicious- it was a little bit darker, no scoop of butter on top, and they were just kind of laid out on a plate. Nothing fancy. But, it all still looked yummy! As you can see from my pictures, The first thing I did was open up the quesadilla to see what it look like inside, the chicken looked well seasoned, it looked real and not frozen, there was a significant amount of chicken, the cheese was a little unmelted however, it still looked good! Overall, it was pretty good. I thought the quesadilla was good for what it was, just not great, though the chicken was really well seasoned! The cinnamon French toast was a letdown. OK, let me start out by saying that I only had breakfast here, so it's possible that I'm over-reaching with a 4 star rating. I will be going back in the near future to sample some of the dinner & lunch offerings. Basically I went to M&M after reading other Yelp reviews. Walking in I was greeted promptly and shown immediately to a booth. Service was both fast & friendly. The place is quaint on the inside, and a little daunting on the outside. It's located in the heart of a small strip mall, and if you didn't know what to look for you'd probably miss it. I ordered a bacon & cheese omelette (my cholesterol is surprisingly low!) with hash browns & toast. The food was fast to the table, and everything was delicious. The Omelette was fluffy and had a good amount of bacon in it. The hashbrowns were crispy & tasty. They even have the little bowls of butter on the table so you can top off the toast to your liking. The price was fair, and I left feeling somewhat better about the previous place I'd left in a fury. I like the local small-town dinery feel this place has (yes, I'm making up words). This place used to be reasonable priced and packed. Now not so. I believe I know why. Two egg sandwiches, two coffees and one sliced tomato $14.10???? The sandwiches were ok at best. How can you screw up a egg and two pieces of sausages on bread - you can't. But to charge $2.48 for the sliced tomato and over $2.40 for coffee to be severed by lady that would not smile and we were greeted with "sit anywhere you want". Not the same place I remember. Although this place has been open for a couple of years now, we recently stopped in for the first time. This unassuming storefront cafe in a local strip mall might have made it onto my neighborhood rotation on the first attempt. The menu is fairly standard for small independent joints on this side of town: Burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc. Although they do have the standard complement of Greek coney fare (coneys, gyros, greek salad, spinach pie), the entrees section of the menu distinguishes them from an orthodox coney island: They serve country fried steak, fried chicken, ribs, liver & onions (ack), an Italian section, and even stir fry w/rice. Extra points for variety here. The slammed server was a bit slow, but she was very helpful and apologetic. I don't think it was her fault at all. The place was full, which I guess is a good sign. The food came out hot and in fair time - the refills and bill took a little longer. The owners spared expense on the decor. It is simple, but comfortable. Prices are fair, right in line with what you would pay at any similar place. All in all a positive experience. If they prove to be consistent on future visits I will cheerfully bump them up to a 4-star neighborhood diner experience. read more
