My friends and I visited here the other night before a show at the Village theater. This location is so convenient for a meal or drink before a show. We gave ourselves plenty of time in case it was busy. We got to the restaurant at about 5:45 pm and the show started at 7:30. This was about perfect timing to eat in a timely manner and get to the show. I gave this restaurant 3 stars because it was just average. Nothing spatular but I'd try it again. I ordered an 8 inch pizza and I was hoping for more. It was good, but nothing special. Not something I'd order again. My friends didn't rave about their food either but stated that it was good. Overall, our experience was good. It was kinda dark in the restaurant which made reading the menu a little difficult. I've been meaning to try this place, since it's a two minute walk from me. The location is super convenient and in a really cute area that is getting developed. I can see this being a frequent spot for me! We took advantage of the outdoor seating on a nice night, trying to be extra cautious because of COVID. All the staff we saw had masks on, which was very reassuring. The food itself was a little underwhelming. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. The dip itself was kind of flat, but it came with two different types of chips. The yellow ones are regular tortilla chips, and the green ones are more wheat-based tasting. I really liked these, they had a nice soft crunch and taste. For entrees, I ordered the Cajun boneless wings. These were okay. My boyfriend ordered the Maraschinos Club with fries. The club had a generous portion of meat in it, and the fries were a really nicely crunchy/soft mixture and seasoned well. Not pictured are a pair of burgers that the other people in my party ordered. These seem overhyped by the menu. The bread-to-patty ratio seemed way too high, and the meat seemed kind of dry (to be fair, they were ordered medium-well and well-done, which no one should ever do). They have a nice beer selection and some cool looking cocktails. They also host events like trivia night and love music nights. I'm looking forward to these if COVID ever dies down! read more

In far western Wayne County there is a neotraditional development that gives you that small town feel named Cherry Hill Village, which is a really nice place to live in especially if you like a place with the look of a small hamlet, harking back to early 1900s. Cherry Hill used to be named "Ridge" since its position was atop the ridge shore of an ancient lake many moons ago. Likewise, this area was stop on the stagecoach route from Ypsilanti north through Milford, and points beyond. Passengers could stop at the local tavern to whet their whistle and wash down the road dust. While the stagecoach lines that served the area vanished in the 1920s with coming of the Automobile Age; you can stop in Maraschino's Pub to refresh yourself with a cold drink when thermometer is pushing the century mark during those "dog days of summer." I have been into Maraschino's a few times for lunch and dinner, and I have never been disappointed. The service is fast and food is delivered hot from the kitchen. Sadly, I have never tried the pizza that this place serves, but I plan on rectifying that in the near future. That being said, being right next door to the Canton Village Theater, makes this pub an ideal place stop in to enjoy some food before or after any performance. Mostly, I have enjoyed the various burgers and sandwiches that Maraschino's serves. They make a killer club sandwich that is out of this world, and if you have a weakness for great tasting bacon like I do, this place rocks it! This is some of the best tasting bacon I have enjoyed in ages. So, if you love pizza, great food, or a pleasant atmosphere, then Maraschino's is the place to visit. read more

We had a group of 10 ladies for a Taco Tuesday going away party. The salsa was amazing. The chips were just ok. But a regular told us we had to try the house made spinach chips that accompany their spinach artichoke dip. Those chips were to die for. I had hope . . . Our first visit was many months ago, and although the service was painfully slow, the pizza was good, so we decided to order carryout one night. That pizza was very literally the worst pizza I've ever tried to eat from any pizza place in existence. I contacted the manager and they replaced the pizza at no cost the next time we ordered, which was appreciated because we threw that pizza away without even eating one slice. Yes, that bad. I've never done that before. Ever. The next pizza was average and good. The next time we ate at Maraschino's we ordered burgers. Service was again exceedingly slow, but at least we got to sit outside on the sidewalk on a nice day. The burgers were a little overdone, but pretty good overall. The fries were typical frozen bar food. The time after this we had slow service again on a night when the bar was mostly empty. We split a few appetizers (typical bar food) and ordered drinks. Our waitress was super friendly, which helped because the kitchen held us up. Anyway . . . the visit today will indeed be my last. The menu says a 16" cheese pizza is $12 and each extra topping is $2 (with the exception of several items they deem premium). I ordered this with pepperoni on the whole thing, green olives on half, and sausage on the other half. How does that equal $18? I'll tell you. They charged for three toppings. So I showed them their own menu with the prices. The excuse? They don't have a way to ring up a split item pizza. The manager (part owner?) was apologetic, but did not offer to refund the $2. I said, "OK, I'd like both of the half toppings put on the entire pizza then," pointing to my pizza. He nicely said that next time I need to remember to order the third topping on the whole pizza. I think he really was trying to be diplomatic and nice. Then Rich, who is part owner, chimes in. He reiterates what the other guy said. I explain to both of them that never in my history of ordering pizza from any establishment have I been charged full price for items I've split half and half, making a whole. Rich's answer was that I pay a higher price at Maraschino's because it's a premium pizza. (BTW, it's a typical pizza.) That response didn't even address what I said. I explained that this will be the last time I come in, as we've had enough bad experiences at their restaurant to warrant not returning after this overcharge. I told them about prior bad experiences. The first guy was apologetic but said there was nothing he could do. Rich said, "If you don't want to return because of $2, that's on you." So that's how the owner feels about his customers . . . I replied, "Yes, it is, and I'll do just that because I cannot return in good faith to a place that knowingly overcharges its patrons." He said, "OK." I headed for the door and one of them said, "Have a nice day." And those will be the famous last words I'll hear from the guy at Maraschino's because I'll never be back. Our most recent visit was this past Saturday night. There was more staff than needed for the number of patrons, and they were more interested in talking to each other than serving tables. We had to ask for everything - condiments for our burger, napkins, refills on drink - and it requires flagging somebody down because nobody can be bothered to leave their conversation to check on you. Prior experiences were no different. * Came for drinks and ended up leaving after a beer each because our server never came back. * Almost left after waiting far too long for somebody to acknowledge and seat us. There were two guys watching TV who looked over at us and then went back to the tv, only to later come seat us. Yikes! We thought they were diners, but it turned out they were employees who wanted to finish watching whatever before they had to pay attention to us. If the food were stellar, I could overlook the service to enjoy a meal close to home now and then, but it's not. Came here for dinner. We just moved in nearby and heard this place was good. We started with beers and Queso dip. The dip tasted like bottled dip I buy at the store, but we were starving and it had a good presentation, and it also tasted pretty good. We both ordered burgers (build your own) with fries. We started with pretzel bites with beer cheese as an appetizer which was very filling and had a lot of them. We had the speakeasy punch with only the pineapple juice( allergic to oranges) and it was a perfect blend. I like margaritas also but they didn't have a frozen option so that is why I went with the punch. There also was a sweet drink on the menu but we decided not to try it and our waitress recommended against it as it wasn't a good complement to our menu choices. She definitely was right on that one. I realize there is some time between picking up the food and eating it at home; however, we live close and the food tastes like it's been sitting out for an hour. Further, the sauce and rub for the wings were on the side when they are supposed to be mixed. The lovely bartender did apologize for the delay; however, a comped meal, something extra for free, or something else would have gone a long way for customer service. You can tell the individual that owns the sub shop across the street also owns this place. Heck even 1 of the workers was wearing a T-shirt from across the street lol. She got the salmon which was Bland and not even completely cooked through! she felt sick afterwards. Well the first visit was sub-par. I ordered the chicken ceasar wrap/fries and my guest ordered a french dip. The caesar wrap was boring, with a little chicken and terrible dressing. However, the french dip was worse! The french dip had one piece of roast beef and one piece of cheese. If I can post the picture I will. Just terrible. I figured if they ran out of beef and cheese, since the same owner owns the sub shop across the street they could have got more from them. Instead they put down this crap sandwich for $15 and thought nothing of it. Shameful. We did try it again, because the drinks are good. We ordered a pizza. It was fine - nothing to write home about. Too much sauce, every ingredient is added individually - expensive for what it is. So, for drinks, go have fun! Food - eat before you go :) So many better places in the Canton/Plymouth area. Stopped in here for a brew and grub. The place is a new bar recently opened a little less than a week ago. It's a pretty large restaurant on the inside and has a lot of TVs. Arrived here during a game it was loud and busy. You can tell the staff/team is new and was working hard. There is a full bar they have a couple of taps and a host of bottle beers as well. They have a huge menu several pages, and a small kids menu. According to the menu they have daily specials and in the future plan to have brunch and pizza nights. For the brew I ordered a Faricy Dry Stout a local beer from Arbor Brewing, the beer was good and cold. They offer 16oz and 26oz beers. The only negative is that they were having trouble with the taps, they were foamy so foamy in fact some of the taps would not allow the bartenders to fill up or top off the beers. That was how my beer was served. I saw this happen to some other beers as well. The food took some time to arrive it was a busy night. I had the Shrimp PoBoy with waffle fries and pickel. The sandwich had decent size shrimp, the sauce was ok, tasted like an onion rings sauce. The waffle fries were good, they were crispy and seasoned well, wish there were a few more. Overall this restaurant is ok they are probably still working out the kinks being open for less than a week looking forward to trying again. read more

My party of five had tickets for the theater at 7:30. We arrived a few minutes after 6:00. I said that we had tickets for the theater. We were seated at the bar quickly, drinks were delivered quickly and our orders were taken. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. The two people behind the bar continued to apologetically assure us that the food was coming. An order of chicken strips arrived at 7:05. A Rueben sandwich, one small pizza and one large pizza arrived at 7:17. The pizza was too hot to eat. They offered us a box. My adult son went to pay the bill. As I walked out, I told the employee behind the bar that they had a lot of nerve charging us for food we couldn't eat. She offered to allow me to talk to the owner. It took several minutes for him to appear. He essentially said that he hoped we enjoyed our free food and told me to leave. I understand that it was busy. They should not have seated us if they couldn't serve us food. He should have been apologizing, rather than treating me so rudely. It was a bad situation that he should have defused. We eat here a lot. We love the pizza and Caesar salad. However on this particular day I ordered from Grubhub. The pizza arrived with barely any cheese on it. Like a few sprinkles and normally their pizza has plenty. When it's a plain cheese pizza this matters more than when there are a lot of other toppings. I called Maraschinos and they were willing to remake the pizza (barely) but at full price. This was after I paid $40 for Grubhub, I then had to pay another $20 for a pizza with normal cheese on it. I understand if they didn't want to discount a new pizza as sparse cheese is more of a preference than a mistake on their end, but the way they handled it was not professional by any means. I had to really ask and ask again to even get them to remake it in the first place. I just wanted a darn pizza that my son will eat! :D Not happy. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I never complain and I am appalled at Maraschinos customer service. read more

If you offer soup make sure it's HOT not cold. I recommend anyone if they order a salad you should probably order something else to go with it. So, my wife and I really wanted this place to be good, since it's the only thing near Cherry Hill Village. We've given it a couple tries. Once when they first opened, for drinks and appetizers, once for a regular dinner, and now for their brunch. We assumed our bad experience when they first opened was just because everyone working there was new and still learning. But now they've been open for a couple months, the kinks should be kind of worked out. The customer service has always been lacking. We've never been given a drink menu whether we're there for dinner nor brunch. We've been given the wrong bill every time as well. First time, the daily special discount wasn't applied, the other times, it was simply the bill for a different table. As for the food, we haven't really had anything all that great. Everything fried we've had has been over breaded and over fried. Much of the brunch was rather underwhelming. The French toast was good though. Also weirdly coffee wasn't available during brunch. They had a couple coffee mugs next to the buffet plates, but no place to get coffee. I don't think we'll be coming back again. read more

I took my son and ran into some neighbors who were not there for the fundraiser (cool, a neighborhood hangout). The cons- The margarita that I ordered however, was straight sour mix and pretty difficult for me to finish. AND I ALWAYS FINISH MY MARGARITA.... General concerns: way understaffed (at least the night i was there). It took 30 mins to order, which I was patient about because my sons and the neighbors kid were keeping busy with each other. The food also took about 40 mins to show up. :( If this is typical, it's a tough sell to a parent who may or may not have to give baths that night.
