I sent out some additional requests for quotes on this part but almost everyone either wanted to come do another $75-95 diagnostic to say the same thing or told me the unit was too old/parts were too difficult to find so I should just replace the whole unit. Bladimir got back to me with zero hassle about just wanting a quote and had the best one out of all the people I spoke with that day, probably 15+ companies. He even had a model-specific rep for my out of date HVAC that had the parts in stock. They were able to come out to replace the compressor early afternoon the next day and were extremely responsive over text. However, when they left there was still no cold air. He came first thing the next morning and was able to diagnose that wires were also touching and causing the system to blow HOT AIR every time the a/c came on, and fixed it immediately! The compressor was still damaged and needed to be replaced, not just the wiring issue and we're not sure why they happened together, but I feel like another company would have charged for more expensive parts or just force a whole system replacement without trying to find this simple fix. He also repaired the thermostat housing which had never attached to the wall properly at no charge. 100/10. I hope I never have a/c issues again but he's the only one I would call and would a billion percent recommend him and his team to anyone needing to get cool again.

Talking through tje issue, they helped me troubleshoot some things and when those didn't work, the appointment was set for the next morning. Chris swing by promptly at the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed the issue. There was a clog and he was able to resolve it rather quickly and added a section of pipe to resolve future issues faster. They did this work without proper mold remediation specialists, associated equipment (like tents, etc.) and they did not bring adequate drop cloths to cover our furniture, rugs or belongings, resulting in the depositing of mold and mold spores all over our fabric furniture and rugs, never mind throughout the air in our home. We will need to dispose of all of these expensive, impacted items, as we are currently suffering from allergic shock/ anaphylactic shock, with multiple trips to the ER. Can't safely bring these items-- and the mold potentially on/ in them-- with us to our next home. Ethically, I think TAV Air should have declined to do this work when they saw clear signs of water damage and mold, deferring to a certified mold remediation specialist with the proper permits from TDLR. Serious ethical issue, resulting in immediate health issues for me, my husband, and our dog.

We were really pleased they were able to get it in quickly. This year the AC went out in our Tiny house rental and we were a bit panicked because we had a 5 day stay the next week. We reached out to J to see if it could be repaired and after reviewing the situation we decided it was in our best interest to get it replaced. J gave a fair quote again and said he could get the unit shipped in that weekend. J instead was able to find the unit in Austin and was out the day after. Him and his crew were able to get a new split system and up and in that day. Saving us from having to cancel a rental reservation and ensuring our guests will stay cool this summer.
