TAV Air came at the behest of our "property manager" to fix destroyed ventilation, which was wet and covered in mold. They did this work without proper mold remediation specialists, associated equipment (like tents, etc.) and they did not bring adequate drop cloths to cover our furniture, rugs or belongings, resulting in the depositing of mold and mold spores all over our fabric furniture and rugs, never mind throughout the air in our home. We will need to dispose of all of these expensive, impacted items, as we are currently suffering from allergic shock/ anaphylactic shock, with multiple trips to the ER. Can't safely bring these items-- and the mold potentially on/ in them-- with us to our next home. Ethically, I think TAV Air should have declined to do this work when they saw clear signs of water damage and mold, deferring to a certified mold remediation specialist with the proper permits from TDLR. Serious ethical issue, resulting in immediate health issues for me, my husband, and our dog. read more

Tav-Air, Pablo and his team were fantastic. They were very prompt, very reasonable on pricing. Did not overcharge for purchasing supplies. They were very respectful- took off shoes and put down tarps everywhere they went. Completed their job in a quick amount of time but did not cut corners. They installed an additional exhaust fan in our bathroom (with 14 ft high ceilings), ran the exhaust out of the siding. Replaced a moldy duct with a new duct and bucket. Can't recommend them enough. Hottest day of the year so far and I wake up realizing my house is not even slightly cool. Fortunately, one of my sons found Tav-Air on yelp. It had outstanding ratings. I had no hope that service could happen same day so was incredibly happy when Pablo fitted me in at the end of the day! Amazingly he was early (called first), went right to work checking out the equipment and diagnosed a bad capacitor. He spelled out the cost clearly and it was very reasonable. Five strong stars for Pablo and Tav-Air Service. He came out on a holiday weekend when other places would not respond, his recommendations make total sense, he was totally fine if we wanted to shop around and use our "normal" company but ultimately based on his level of service, his patience, and his ability to get things done quickly and at a super competitive price lead us to replace one of our units. He managed to get in a new unit from Houston in a matter of a day, and by late the next morning the unit was fully installed and up and running. It is rare that I am wowed by great service these days, but Pablo managed to do just that. I hope we don't need him any time soon, but when (not if) we do I have full confidence in his abilities and I know I will not get price gouged or sold something I don't need. Much appreciated! I don't normally write reviews.. I called Tav-Air after hearing a great review from a neighbor to help out with some cooling issues. Our newborn was having a hard time in the humid heat so Tav-Air came out within an hour and had us up and running an hour later. I know enough to change the capacitor and condenser fan but this was a weird A/C issue beyond me. They were able to work through the possible causes, checking things one by one, until they found the issue. After all of that work, they could have charged me some outrageous amount of money like we are used to, but they didn't. It was a rare breath of fresh air to have an honest company just doing a good job. I can't recommend enough and our baby is happy. Give them a call! read more

First called a well known HVAC service provider who it seemed only came out to sell me a new system. Before the repairman left he told me not to turn furnace on to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. After 20 minutes of 'work', I paid the $99 and told him I was getting a second opinion. I called Tav-Air and they came by that same afternoon. Pablo cleaned out a connection and got my system working perfectly for LESS than the amount charged by the previous company for doing absolutely nothing! Pablo is my new hero. So, I'd like to echo what Todd K. said in his review: AC problems in Texas in August=not anyone's favorite. Pablo responded quickly (on a Saturday!!!), and came by the same day. He came in, inspected the control unit, and as he did, talked me through what his equipment was telling him. He made some adjustments to the control box "just to be on the safe side," which I really, really appreciated because some folks I'm sure would just keep it moving. He was able to diagnose and fix the drainage problem quickly, and also adjusted the outdoor unit so it was more level (again: above and beyond). I would definitely recommend him for AC issues and repair. He made sure I understood each of the things he checked for so I could check it myself in the future. Thank you so much Pablo! read more

My AC system was short cycling and I didn't know why. Was it my thermostat? Was it a clogged drain line? Was it the system itself? Feeling a bit lost I called Tav-Air this morning and had Pablo out midday/same day. Pablo checked to see it water was backing up and triggered the drain switch. This can cause the unit to turn off. He vacuumed the pvc line and no water. He cleared the line with high pressured gas and this seemed to fix the problem. I could see from outside what looked like a white, chalky residue in the grass at the opening of the drain line. I bet there was calcium build up. So typical for WILCO residents. 30 minutes later and a small cost just north of $100, my troubles were resolved. I recommend Tav-AIr and will call on Pablo again if and when I need AC repairs. It's never a fun thing to have AC problems in Texas in August - I think we can all agree on that. Our AC stopped cooling a few nights ago and I went straight to Yelp for someone who could get to us quickly. Pablo pulled through during this crazy Texas winter storm with power outage. The heater unfortunately went out at the wrong time right before the ice storm and no one could come out to diagnose properly. Several other companies were blindly recommending to replace. Pablo confirmed what he thought was the issue which aligned with my thoughts, went to the HVAC supply store immediately after they were opened from the ice storm, and came out to quickly replaced a faulty inducer motor. He did the job while the road conditions were sketchy and icy. His honesty and hard work would make me recommend him to anyone.
