Came here for breakfast. Restaurant is located on the ground floor inside the Hilton Waikiki Beach. There was a wait so you have to give the hostess your name, party number and phone. They'll text/call when table is available. Once seated, we were promptly greeted by our attentive and nice server, Ishmael, who brought our waters right away. We ordered the Island Breakfast and Mac Attack. Our beverages were decaf coffee. There wasn't much of a wait for the food. Both breakfasts were satisfactory. A little too salty for our tastes, but it's what we ordered. I always keep forgetting to tell servers no seasoning. Oh well. Other than the food being more salty than we're used to, the potatoes were cooked nicely with a bit of crunch, smoked bacon and sausages were flavorful. The fruit cup was good and the pancakes a little dry and not fluffy. The interior is clean and booth and bar style seating is available. read more

A very pleasant surprise after enjoying a lot of local island eats during our stay on Oahu. One night we were looking for a simple but fun place to accommodate a group of 6 and since it was my birthday and my turn to choose, pancakes and breakfast sounded great for dinner! Although limited to 5-6 breakfast choices during dinner time, I really enjoyed this! 4 stars all around for the food, and a 5th star for our waitress Elaine, who was just amazing all around. Last thing, I questioned 19.00 pancakes, + a few bucks for toppings, I first thought it was due to being in a Hilton property but I was wrong... These aren't your typical sized pancakes, easily shared as a side for 3-4 people. I had the mochi pancakes topped w Mac nuts and bananas, my wife had the breakfast dish that included a side of pancakes topped with strawberries. They were excellent. This will be my first stop for breakfast next time I'm in Waikiki. Other dishes order in our group, Fish and Chips, Kalua Quesadilla, Roasted Chicken. Couldn't decide on where to eat for my dad and friend's birthday breakfast. Since I had to pick his friend up in Waikiki I decided we could eat at here. Absolutely forgot about how busy it can get with all the tourist, sure enough as we walked in I could see the line for check in was long. Located in the Hilton Waikiki, this spot serves breakfast and dinner till late at night. We arrived at around 8:30 pm and hostess told us it would be about a 20 min wait which was reasonable. Once we got seated, our server came right away and was super attentive the whole time. Very appreciated as we had just arrived in Hawaii and were very hungry. I ordered the Hawaiian "catch of the day" tacos which was swordfish for that day. They were okay. The fish was lightly grilled and barely seasoned. I think the dish wouldve enhanced greatly if the fish was properly seasoned. Otherwise they were good, toppings were crunchy and fresh. The kalbi steak salad was also okay. The steak was super thin and fatty. We didnt eat most of it. But the other components of the salad were good! The ribeye steak and eggs were pretty good but i felt the steak also needed a bit more seasoning on it. LOL maybe its just me but every thing needed more seasoning.. I visited this place a year ago and looks like they updated the menu a bit and took away the reason I came to visit this year! The chicken and waffles were some of the best I've ever had but sadly it did not make the new menu. Even though I missed out on that, I found more amazing dishes MAC 24/7 serves up! I tried their chef specials, corned beef hash and peach cobbler short stack, and they were delicious! For the price, this was a great place for breakfast! Can't believe i m giving it 5-star when other fancy places only received 3-4 stars. Clean & comfy environment with fun vibes, staff attentive & friendly. I was expecting the typical heavy fatty diner food, it delivered and more, but in a good way. Kalbi short ribs with eggs & rice was very good. The kalbi was succulent, smoky, juicy & delish. Its prob 80% equivalent to any top notched Korean restaurant version. I did not expect it from a diner. Mochi pancake was surprisingly good. I m usually not a pancake fan but Liked the chewy texture of these giant hotcakes; the soft whipped butter was heavenly. Other than the japanese Gram fluffy pancake back in SF, this is one of the best American style pancake I have had. They have a pancake challenge in which you must devour 5 lb worth of pancake in 90 min. We witnessed a guest next table who accomplished this feat, thus earning a free meal & a T-shirt commerating his Herculean effort. The waiter also struck the gong to alert other diners of this occasion. We saw other guests' food & most looked very tempting. There's always next Hawaii trip. read more

Located inside the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel. Ate breakfast here the morning of departing Hawaii on Memorial Day. Staff was friendly. Our party of 3 didn't have to wait for our table. If you're pressed for time, don't give the staff a difficult time for your poor planning. Person next to our table clearly didn't plan her morning right but kudos to the staff for accommodating her. Plenty of options on the menu and that pancake challenge was enticing but I'm not a pro to eat 5 lbs of pancakes nor did I want to fork over $42 for the challenge only to fail it. Maybe next time when more people are with me, I'll share those massive pancakes. Ended up getting the M.A.C Attack which included eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and potatoes. Very filling. My family and I were able to make a last minute reservation for 17 people for a Saturday afternoon and they were able to accommodate us :) We haven't been here for a few years and boy did they downsize their menu.. in any case, the food was really yummy! I had a few options for brunch but I was impressed with the friendliness of the hostess when I called so I selected M.A.C. 24/7. She was warm and inviting, reassuring me that I did not have to be a resident of Hilton to visit their establishment, which was the reason for my call. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly even though I was not next in line! My temperature was taken by the hostess and she also wore gloves, as did the rest of the staff. I was seated in a spacious booth, each booth partitioned, with a lovely view of their garden to my left and large screened televisions tuned to local and national news. The food was delicious! Eggs were perfectly cooked to my specification...bacon was crispy and not too salty....the oatmeal was creamy and the fruit was fresh! The potatoes were seasoned just right with grilled peppers on top! And the service was immaculate! Very kind and accommodating waitress/server. And being open until midnight is a huge bonus as lots of places close early due to covid so it's a great after hours spot for us late night owls! The two times we can here we had great service. The waiters that we had were both good and quick. The food was also great both times we came. The first time we came I had the Mac attack and my girlfriend had the stuffed French toast and they both were so filling. Decided to venture out to breakfast. Heard about this place and we walked down to it. Decorations are on point. So cute. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered the omelet with potatoes and my daughter ordered the pancakes, eggs, bacon and a side order of potatoes. Everything was really really good. Hit the spot. My friends and I came here for the 5lb pancake challenge and the 5lb pancake challenge only. I knew I had no chance of finishing it, but I decided to give it a try anyways. There are a variety of preset toppings, and I ended up choosing the fresh picked fruits. I was very impressed with the quality of the fruits, which included strawberries, oranges, pineapples, and blueberries. No doubt, the 5lb pancakes were gigantic. I honestly could not believe what was in front of my eyes. There was a load of whipped cream and it also came with a bunch of syrup. The pancakes were actually really good and moist. I clearly did not finish, but I did take home a few boxes of pancakes to eat for leftovers. It was honestly such a steal - only $35 of 4lbs of pancakes + 1lb of fresh fruit toppings. Our waitress was so nice and funny. I think she knew I knew I wasn't going to finish and giggled with me when she saw how much I ate at the halfway point. But she still encouraged me to try and finish. I will definitely not be coming back for the pancake challenge anytime soon, but I'm glad I got to experience it. In the lobby of a hotel so there def can be a wait. I was a single so was able to sit right away at the bar. The prices here are far more affordable then other places in the area and especially for something at a hotel. Portion sizes were massive! Food: Reviews were slightly misleading. The food was "okay" at best. Nothing to write home about. Despite the half empty plates, the comments made about the chicken was that it was bland despite the "herb" title. The potatoes were slightly oily as well. The chicken wings were okay as well, I had one and requested a box to take them back to our hotel to eat by the poolside. The salad was good, only complaint is that they had very few options for dressing. Service: Excellent. We had Elaine as our server, she was kind and seated promptly. This small restaurant resides on the bottom floor of the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel. Service was fast and our drinks were constantly refilled. The food came out on a beautiful tray and was as aesthetically pleasing to look at as it was to eat! The MAC attack was a tasty assortment of eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. The bacon was thick and full of flavor. The biscuits and gravy tasted rich and were lightly toasted. The pancakes were a bit thicker, but the maple syrup and batter ingredients made them taste incredibly good. My only complaint is that MAC 24/7 is not a 24 hour restaurant and closes pretty early. The hotel has not updated the hours advertised around the property even though this has been changed for over two years. read more

Apparently it's time for an update: 1. Yes, FYI for you first-time visitors, there is parking! Valet only. Don't forget to have your parking ticket "validated" (your server will "validate" the ticket and add the $3.00 to your bill). Tip optional. 2. Yes, you can make a reservation. Available via open table. We made a res for 6:00pm, but later modified it (same day) to 7:15pm. Surprisingly a reservation wasn't necessary as the restaurant wasn't crowded at all when we arrived. 3. Yes, seating is at the bar (which was totally empty sans 1 customer), booths across from the bar, or tables/booths in the main dining area. 4. Yes, you can order breakfast 24/7. Other menu options include appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees. 5. No, don't order an adult beverage. Well, that's not entirely true. Just don't order the sangria (my choice) or the lava lava flow (my friend's selection). The lava flow had absolutely no taste......I mean you really couldn't taste the alcohol or any of the other drink components really. You could "taste" the small particles of blended ice though. The sangria seemed like someone poured day old red wine and ice into and cup served it with a pineapple wedge. Not recommended. 6. Yes, the fish tacos AND beef stew may or may not be the best items on the menu. Per the server's recommendation(s), we chose these dinner entrees. I don't see how either of these are the best items or popular items on their menu. Though the beef stew had large chunks of meat and a generous helping of vegetables, I didn't think it was that great. I prefer my dad's beef stew any day. My friend found his fish tacos mediocre. Nothing noteworthy to mention about either entree. 7. Yes, service was ok. Just ok. The server was friendly and polite, but I felt like he was overdoing a bit with the conversation. I'm guess he was trying to build up his tip perhaps. BOTTOM LINE: With such an enormous array of eateries in Waikiki, I won't be back any time soon. read more

Came here for dinner when we got in to our hotel late Friday night. Service was a little slow but there were only 2 waitresses that we saw and they were busting there asses with a lot of seated tables. The boys enjoyed there burgers and the fries were really tasty. My simple side salad was huge for the being a side salad however it did say it came with nuts and cranberries and those were left out, I did really like the guava dressing. The broski and I had a quick lunch at the Hilton. This place was voted best restaurant for 2019 so we had to try for ourselves. The menu is pretty extensive offering burgers, sandwiches, breakfast plates, sweets, and much more. I ordered the Grilled 1/2 BBQ Chicken which comes with steamed vegetables and white rice -- really well prepared, I must say. I asked for a side of BBQ dipping sauce and it made it that much more tasty. My brother finished his entire burger sharing that it was nicely cooked and not too big of a portion for lunch. This place also has some cool food challenges. * finish 5 pounds of pancakes (timed) or, * finish a 5 pound cheeseburger in 45 minutes (free if finished and $45 if not). He has a packed schedule this week but plans on meeting me on Friday to take on one of those challenges. It's going to be fun to take pictures -- I'll post them soon. But all in all, the food is great here. They have a full bar with large TVs if you plan on having some beers while watching a game. read more

I stay in the hotel 2-3 months a year and eat at Mac 24/7 every day during those times. I'm keenly aware of their numerous menu changes, the "Covid" staffing issues, and the food and beverage management/chef turnover that seems never ending. That being said, my most recent stay had numerous challenges with the food and service at Mac24/7. The latest "new" menu dropped a little over a week ago and honestly there wasn't much change. The highlight to me was that they brought back the kalbi steak salad, although they renamed it the "Thai" salad. But one of the issues is the staff seemed perplexed by the new menu and acted like they had no idea what was available. Every inquiry or request led to, "let me check with the kitchen to see if we have that". No one knew what was available. Which also leads to some pretty glaring consistency issues. You can order the same dish 5 days in a row (which I have) and each time it'll be very different. Sometimes surprisingly different. Seems like a quick training and menu overview would be in order for all cooks, servers, and bartenders. Which leads me to bartenders... Jason that works the counter bar is outright mean, rude, and anti-service. He's been there for years and has always been fairly laconic for someone who works in the service industry, but he acts completely put out by any requests, anyone ordering food at his bar, or anyone even coming into the bar. That guy sucks. My coworker ordered a $50 ribeye steak and Jason told him it would cost $2 extra for horseradish. I asked for a refill of iced tea and he said it would cost $4.95, and that's just the surface of the issues with that guy. Maybe nickel and diming patrons is part of the newest leadership's direction. One thing is for sure, the prices have sky rocketed over the past couple years but the overall quality of the meals has gone downhill. The MICROWAVE cooking is out of control. The vegetables are now microwaved, the shrimp scampi I ate last night was microwaved and the sauce had separated. The Brick Chicken is microwaved. Once in a blue moon I'll be served a meal that is made fresh to order, but most dishes are pre made and then microwaved for service. You can easily tell because the plates are nuclear hot, the food is over cooked, and sauces like in the scampi I had last night was completely separated. This restaurant now serves very expensive microwaved meals. So if you've read this whole review and are curious about what's good... The kalbi salad they brought back is pretty good. Anything having to do with the kalbi is pretty good. The brick chicken when it's cooked to order. The scampi when it's cooked to order. The steaks are fine but over valued. Most of their menu is good with the caveat of, when it's cooked to order and you don't mind the high price of it. The burgers are a little better than they used to be, although you never know which fries they're going to serve it with. Jason said I could only get sidewinder fries and got visibly frustrated when I told him they have straight fries. Did I mention that guy sucks? The bartender Adelaide is super friendly and hospitable. She's a shining star of what that place could be if they staffed appropriately. Sandra is a fantastic server. Tamoni is awesome as well. Joe is always dependable friendly. Of course everyone loves Peter but he's only up at the pool now. None of the above will stop me from eating at Mac24/7 every day. It's just a plea for the leadership team to make it better. A few simple tweaks and it'd be 5 stars from most of the reviews I've read. It's very simple to increase the value and experience for your patrons. Lower the prices to match the current quality of the dishes being served. If the microwaved scampi was $10 I'd love it. But at $32 it's not up to par. Or you keep the high prices and raise the quality and consistency of the dishes, with more house-made food, and house-made dressings. Stop nickel and diming patrons for sauces and a to-go box. Hire friendly staff that actually want to be at work and don't feel put-out by doing their job. Raise your standards. All of those things would go a long way in improving what could be a really good restaurant. read more
