Huge selection here! Despite their name, they are not open 24/7. However, they have mouthwatering menu items that you will crave 24/7! My favorite dishes were the catch of the day (swordfish!) and the mochi pancakes! I phoned my orders in here and nothing took more than 25 minutes. Order pickups were easy and they always included utensils and napkins. A great restaurant to have inside this unassuming hotel! Wait time was minimal 15 min to be seated. After being seated was another 10-15 min before server came to table to take orders. Drinks & food came out in decent amount of time. One of us ordered the crab cake Benedict $24. The portion size was generous. It had an off putting sweet taste of imitation crab meat. He left table with dish. 10 min later he came back asked if she wanted order anything else she declined. I had the Hawaiian Kine pancakes with Mac nuts, haupia & pineapple. Portion was huge! I've been discovering that not all of Waikiki is hella expensive...well, maybe except for the parking, and even this wasn't that bad = $8.00. First, the parking situation. I always come to Yelp to look for parking information. Most people come for the food information. I come looking for the parking information. I am not sure why that is so important to me as I don't mind walking, but I like to know what I'm getting myself into, and if I need to bring an umbrella or tazer or mace or something similar. Normally I am a cheapskate. I will park and walk for free. I hate spending money on parking. On any good-weathered day (or night if you're brave), you can park along Kapiolani Park and walk to Mac 24/7 on Kuhio, but it was storming and raining on this day, and I had to valet park, which is the only option here at the Hilton Waikiki Beach. It's $3.00 validation for the first 3 hours, then the rate is $47.00 after that. This was told to me by the manager after I asked about it. Ridiculous. Must eat and get the heck out! We were at a private party and it rolled past the three-hour mark so the manager said he'd sign our cards, he'd make this one exception just for us. At the valet claim, the valet guys said, nah, don't worry, as long as it's validated. I tipped them $5.00 so that made it $8.00. The $3 validation price is added to your food bill. Now the food. HUGE PORTIONS for Waikiki. Fish and chips so large I had to get a take out container (additional $1.68 for the container). My friend had a fried fish sandwich that was so HUGE she couldn't wrap her mouth around it (ha ha). It looked like they fried a whole side of fish in batter and plopped it down on the bread. Both our meals were $22 a piece, a pretty good steal for Waikiki. I was told that this place appealed to locals because the portions were large. The Fish and Chips came with some unmemorable slaw, good thick curl-shaped fries and juicy fish. The problem with the fish was that it was somewhat undercooked inside, which wasn't a problem since I brought it home and nuked it to perfection. Okay, I was looking for a quick breakfast before work and I stumbled upon MAC 24/7 in the Hilton. The service is all aloha, such amazingly kind and happy workers, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It kind of feels like an ihop inside, but you'll find the best Hawaiian breakfast in Waikiki here. I was excited for the weekend seafood buffet. It was $80 per person and the crab legs were severely overcooked. It's like they warmed them up from the night before or just left them cooking for hours. The meat inside was brown. I thought maybe it was just a bad batch, so I waited for other people to eat until they brought out fresh ones. More of the same over-cooked crab legs. I decided to try the seafood chowder. Taste was fine, but the meat in the chowder was entirely imitation crab meat and tiny bits of shrimp. I really really wanted to like it. The sides were good. Fresh fruit was nice, but the seafood was not good. The service, on the other hand, was great! Very attentive and friendly, but also way understaffed. It was one server for about 40 people. Even though Breakfast was ending in 10 minutes, our waitress said that there would be more than willing to serve us breakfast. I've been coming to Mac 24/7 every other month for the past 7 years. They do decadent GF mochi pancakes. It's a diner and about that fell and quality of food. Today was unfortunate. I took my child for a fun breakfast out. Between bad service and a hefty check, I'm not sure I'll be back. There was a wait when I arrived, fine. It was only a couple of minutes. The hostess told a family behind us as we were being seated that it would be 15 minutes. I whispered to them that it was probably more like 5 since they were debating leaving. The hostess griped at me not to say that since they might have left if they didn't want to wait . Ummm ok??? Do you not want customers? We were seated and waited about 10-12 minutes for a server to come. The hostess mentioned they were short staffed. My child is fidgeting at this point. She came and was friendly and polite. we ordered immediately: one order of mochi pancakes (short stack) with whipped cream and strawberries and a side of bacon. Twenty plus minutes later, my kid is a mess. I noticed the family I'd whispered to earlier already had their food. Finally ours arrived. It was delicious, of course. Hard to enjoy when wrangling a beyond frustrated kid though. A man got up to grab a cup of coffee at what looks like a self service coffee stand. A server griped at him that it's still COVID and he can't do that, but didn't fill the cup for him or bring him one. 20 minutes after getting our food, our server arrived for the first time since taking our order and took my valet ticket. 7-8 more minutes before she returned with our check. I gave her my credit card before she could leave. Ten more minutes and she finally brought the receipt. She never asked after our food out if we needed anything. After tip and parking, $45 for two pancakes, approximately three strawberries, some whipped cream, and four strips of bacon. ($32 just for food, 20% tip, the rest taxes and fees) I'm absolutely blown away by that. That was one meal. At a diner. A meal I could've made at home for $5-6. If it was a good experience, it would've been worth it. I have been here many times with better service. It did not used to be so expensive. I know inflation is a thing, but I'm not ok spending twice what I used to and having to wait for it while watching the staff act like they don't actually want customers. Disappointing. So there are four ways to get food from MAC-- order from your room for pick up/to-go, order for in room dining, dining in the restaurant, or ordering in person at the restaurant to-go. Just a warning that the menus are not the same, nor are the prices. I'd expect a fee for room service, and I'd expect some items to not be available to go, but the differences here are not what you'd expect. Add to it, the staff didn't seem to care about the differences. I tried to place an order to go and when I pointed out both the price and item difference, the hostess basically doubled down on her position, didn't offer to get a manager or try to understand the situation. I left without food; the hotel front desk didn't seem terribly interested in fixing the disconnect either. Our server was very homely and sweet. Felt like getting served by mom/grandma. It was slow at the time so the chef even came out to say hi. Food was solid for breakfast foods. I came here with a group of 10 on a Saturday night. The restaurant looked empty. We were sat in a nice room to the side. The server came and took our drink orders, and then food started coming for half the table. Turns out he took their drink and dinner orders at the same time. So then we're sitting there as a party with half food half nothing. He took our orders and the food did come quick enough. I got the prime rib; it was ok. It came raw at first, I wanted medium rare but this was too much. They brought it back still pretty rare but we decided to let it be. The vegetables weren't cooked, maybe they sat in the pan for 2-3 minutes but nothing more. Our reservation was at 6pm and we left at 8:30. It was just a very slow meal. Great portions and the vanilla bean butter is so delish y'all. Great belly filler for a day exploring Waikiki. Next for a light eater the Açaí bowl is great! Fresh fruit, yummy granola and honey is just a sweet accent to the roasted shaved coconut topping. Also peep the avocado toast yup you will thank me. Lunch- Gotta order the Wyagu Burger. Made to order, thick juicy Patty mine had caramelized onions and sweet pickles. Hmmmm yup so good! Ask for a root beer! Not sure how to even start, but the whole experience was more wonderful by having our server Joel attend us. The restaurant is inside the Hilton, and it's very open with booths and TV's. We ordered our food, I got the chicken and waffles and it was nice and crunchy with the delicious waffles. It tasted fresh. Joel would check up on us occasionally and he was just super friendly and an awesome person to talk too. He even gave us some Hawaii traditions to do while we are visiting. ***4.5 STARS*** When I worked in Waikiki, my colleagues and I came to this hotel (before it became a Hilton property) on a fam tour where we had a tour of the property and the businesses within. We also dined at MAC 24/7 where we ordered off the menu. It was a great experience for us because many times our Japanese tourists would ask us for recommendations which were instrumental in sending guests over. I came here personally with my family on several occasions and we had memorable meals at MAC 24/7. My last visit was quite some time ago and with a recent dine-in experience at MAC 24/7, it's time for an update. COVID has really changed dining out experiences. Even the drive to Waikiki and walking through the hotel - - it was less sparse. Not much foot traffic of tourists or hotel staff. I last came to Hilton Waikiki Beach for a work convention in late-2019. It was so different less than 2 years ago - - the hotel was rocking with so many people. I dined with Auntie (aka Nadine C.), who was so gracious to pick me up from my home as I am still recovering from an ankle injury. While being escorted from the hostess stand to our table, we immediately noticed the plexiglass dividers between the booths and the hand sanitizer station as you walked in. After scanning the QR code, I glanced at the menu and my eyes landed on the chicken and waffles. You see, I've been stalking, err.................admiring from afar former Hawaii resident Jan K., a fellow Elite who now resides in the DC area. She was celebrating her birthday weekend and I saw her chicken and waffles photo that almost sent me off the edge. I knew it wasn't going to be the same but that's what I wanted. MAC 24/7 did have some guests dining but sadly there were just a few tables though. It did take some time for our food to come but the wait was justified as our plates arrived temperature hot. After taking the photos, it was finally time to dig in. Both my chicken and waffles were made-to-order. I was impressed on the temperature of both items. As a personal preference, I like bone-in chicken as I find it tastier but the chicken was boneless. It was deep-fried until golden brown with the skin so crispy. The boneless chicken thighs were butterflied so it was seasoned well but the thin areas were a tad overcooked. The waffles were nice and crunchy. Whipped butter, maple syrup and sausage gravy accompanied the dish where I found the sausage gravy paired very well. My eyes were hungrier than my stomach because halfway through I tapped out and ended up taking the rest home. Service was decent but could have been better. Our server was spot on with regards to our valet parking, food order and billing. But at the end I had to flag down someone else for a takeout container. We settled our bill with cash and she didn't come back to pick it up. We waited a bit but eventually we stood up and left. Overall, this was a great union to MAC 24/7 after several years of absence. Although I'm not too keen to travel to Waikiki to eat during COVID but will definitely keep this an option for future meals. NOTE: Valet parking is $3 that is added to your food bill. read more

Food is always freshly prepared and portions are very generous. My daughter and I especially enjoyed and shared the "Island Breakfast", which consisted of eggs, potatoes (your choice of starch), 2 types of breakfast meats, and a fruit cup; this left us room to indulge in the sweetest papaya or another side dish! The island has a breakfast issue where almost every spot that serves breakfast or coffee has an excessive wait or the line starts before they open. We were staying in the Hilton Waikiki Beach where this is located and just wanted an easy breakfast since we were going to be checking out soon. Once we were seated, it appears they were only seating the bar and a few tables because there was a ton of seating available. It must have been busier than they thought it would be. They offered a nice selection of breakfast items. I opted for the gluten free Mochi pancakes which were gigantic and so soft. I added a side of sausage and they were generous with the serving. My husband ordered the Mac attack which has a little of everything and there's just no way he could finish all the food. It was really, really good. Been meaning to come to Mac 24/7 for a while since learning about the famous pancake challenge sometime ago. Finally got a chance to come in December 2022. My friend and I met up on Christmas Day evening 2022 to trade Pokemon on Pokémon Go. Decided to have dinner but we didn't know what was open that night. After racking our brains and looking on Yelp, we decided to head to Mac 24/7 in Waikiki. First time here at this particular restaurant so I was intrigued at what I will find here. First thing I noticed immediately was that the restaurant is at the Hilton Waikiki beach hotel. As we pulled in, my friend decided to get valet service and we walked into the restaurant. Stylish, I thought but it is what it is. I usually thought that this was a step up from my usual go to places that doesn't have valet service. With that said, the ambiance was definitely nice and decidedly upscale for me, even though it's not fine dining. Everything was cool and great, well, except for the sticker shock on the menu. Of course, it was Christmas Day evening when we were there, so I guess it was acceptable for a holiday meal with a friend. We ended up spending at least $100 with 2 alcoholic beverages, which in hindsight wasn't terribly bad, but it was a holiday meal after all. Just need to remind myself this. My highlight of the evening was the mochi pancakes, which I learned was a popular one. So good! I also got the fried rice and a large Kona long board. My friend got the pork chop and a cocktail. It was a good meal for sure. The overall experience here at Max 24/7 Waikiki was sure to please anyone, especially with its beautiful decor of a restaurant that seems like its fine dining, but its not. This place seems like it's kind of mirrors Side Street Inn, but the pancakes were the stars of the show. Never in my life did I have mochi infused pancakes and it was sinfully delicious. While it is pancakes, it was definitely a good one to get. Although it is waikiki and Mac 24/7 sports Waikiki pricing, especially when the restaraunt is in a hotel, I guess once in a while especially during the holiday season is worth warranted, I suppose. It was pretty cool how my friend and I were dress very casually and we kind of blended in when everyone else was practically dressed up that evening. The ambiance was perfect and it was a good change of fast food pace that I had been going on for a while, when I am not traveling. Local comfort food is where it's at, but they do have a limited but exclusive menu. My eyes dropped to the floor when I saw the menu with the prices. I know I'll be back to try out their prime rib, but damn. It is priced higher than what I expected it to be. It is what it is. The seats were comfortable and the server gave us a spot in front of one of the televisions, so I got to see part of an NFL game that night. Score! And so, if you like an exclusive dining ambiance and don't mind the prices on their options, consider coming here for lunch or dinner. As for me, it's basically either holidays or special events for me. Or maybe once in a long while, since the prices are something to consider again. It's physical address is 2500 Kuhio Avenue in beautiful Waikiki. They accept major credit cards, as well as cash. Easier to have cash. The valet guys usually take cash too. As far as parking goes, best bet would be the hotel parking, so you can get in and out quickly and painlessly. There are street parking nearby the hotel, but as limited parking is in Waikiki, best to do the hotel parking especially when parking in and around Waikiki can be congested anyways at any time of day or night. If you are like me, a few bus routes come thru the Waikiki area. You can pick the one that's right for you to come here to the Hilton Waikiki Beach and into the Mac 24/7 restaurant. And of course, you can use the services of Uber and Lyft, if that fits your fancy. However you come here, come here prepared and shocked. Deliciously great and worth the prices, although I wouldn't eat here regularly, but it is good. Definitely would recommend the mochi pancakes and best to come here during pau hana for a drink or two to kick off any weekend. Portions were decent and maybe, just maybe, try to take on the Pancake challenge later. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the ambiance. 4.5 stars for the food, service, and just being there. 2.0 stars for the prices.
