Been here several times when visiting family up here. Usually have breakfast. Tonight, we decided to go for supper. All of us loved our various burgers, especial rave reviews from one for the salmon. Besides the salmon, the rest of us had very tasty beef burgers and the toppings were all great. We had a Blue Cheese, a pesto/mozzarella and a bacon and cheese. Fries were just right. It's got the perfect diner atmosphere, and the service was fast, friendly and just right. My waitress here was sooo nice. I met up for breakfast with a few friends and their kids. So I was already prepared for a challenge. But the waitress was so on too or everything that outside of my daughter's little meltdown everything was perfect. She was even able to help get that back on track. Glad to see this spot occupied again after the Metro Diner departed. The Metro marked the spot for decades and it was sad to see it empty. We decided to check it out on a Friday night around 6:30 for dinner. The place is really cute. It has an "old-style" diner feel to it. The place was pretty crowded, but there wasn't a wait. The hostess was pleasant as was (whom I presume was the manager,) who accompanied to the booth. Menu had a lot of basic diner items, but much more than burgers and chicken fingers. Panini's, wraps, specialty salads, a large breakfast selection, sweets, healthy choices, and a special Greek section. Prices were pretty normal for diner items. One thing I noticed with the booth we sat at was, one side was so much farther away from the table. I guess blame it on our growing stomach population (ha ha!) Our waitress was a lovely young girl and gave us plenty of time to study the menu. I decided on a burger, but not just beef and bun...I ordered the Italian Burger which was burger, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and a balsamic mayo aioli. Served with cole slaw and a pickle which both were yummy! The balsamic mayo looked reallllllly gross slapped on the burger, but it was good. This place screams of "still grand opening" but it is still enjoyable. The wait for the check was a bit longer than I would have liked and the tinsey glasses of water were ridiculous when all you order as a beverage is water. Overall, I liked it. read more

Drove by this place a dozen times and one is really not able to notice it unless you are diligently searching for a place to eat, but I did find it, so... Stopped In for lunch and ordered a greek classic; Gyro with side Greek Salad and I substituted Onion rings instead of fries. Place was relatively empty as it was after 2pm on a weekday. The salad was clean, and dressing was actually amazing! The Gyro meat was great(not over-salted) and in a twist to the classic they saite' the onions and chunks of Tomato. This, coupled with an amazing Tzatziki sauce...MAY have been the best Gyro I have had in many years; however, they gave me an out of the bag Pita which was essentially a hearty wheat wrap which was soggy and just not good...very disappointing. I am still trying to decide if it was even a real Pita, or some weird whole wheat wrap...All they needed to do was grill it for 30 seconds on each side to mask the soggy Pita and it would have been a perfect meal!!! Maybe they actually read the reviews and will scold the shirt order cook about this, but i doubt it. They also forgot the Rings, but the Fries were pretty good so no complaints and I would definitely go back, so thats all that really matters. This crab cake is so flavorful, but not overpowering, definitely deserves to be eaten with a real utensils. I wasn't crazy about the potatoes that came with it, but I don't even care. I really enjoyed this diner. The renovations are great and gives the diner a new refresh look. I had the chicken souflaki platter. The chicken was definitely freshly cooked. The tziki sauce was great since it was made with yogurt. I would definitely recommend this dinner. The people I was with had the Cesar salad, the garden quesadilla and the muscle wrap. I needed a place for a quick lunch and had never eaten here before. I found the prices a bit high, but the food was good, so I didn't mind paying. However, when I got my check there was a 25 cent charge for a custom item. I hadn't gotten anything customized, so I asked the waitress. She apologized and said the charge was for the take-out tin!!! I had only eaten half the portion and wanted to take the rest home. At the cash register I asked the older man (father of the owner) why they charge for a take out tin. He said "Everyone does." I beg to differ. My husband and I regularly eat at the East Bay Diner, the Sherwood Diner, Golden Reef diner, etc. None of them charges for take out containers. I told the crabby man that they may have won my 25 cents, but they lost a customer since I'd never be returning again. Talk about nickel and diming!! Horrible. $40.00 for a turkey club deluxe and eggs over easy for lunch. Come on. It's Lynbrook. Not NYC . Eggs were 8.95 with a side of bacon and rye toast came to $13.95. Plus coffee for $2.95 and Soda $2.95. Everything is an add on. Food is not great either. Fries on the "deluxe" were so greasy , tasted like old oil was used. Shame on them. read more

Hubby and I really wanted to eat at a diner and were in the Lynbrook area so yelp helped us find this gem! Can't say enough good things, except maybe that the lighting was a little harsh. But that might be appealing to some. We came for dinner and both had specials: lamb shank with orzo in a tomato-y braise and Roumanian steak with stuffed shrimp. Everything was delicious and the portions were outrageous for the price. We took home enough for dinner tomorrow. My daughter had the silver dollar pancakes and she gobbled them up. She was disappointed that they didn't have chocolate chips! There is an option on the menu, but no such luck. The omelets and potatoes were average AT BEST. Lacked any flavor. It wasn't crowded when we went and waiteduntil the food came to get our coffee.
