This is a nice salon with genuine nail technicians but I have some negatives I must say. I will start with the positive. I showed the lady the picture I wanted and being new to nail etiquette I did not know the photo had a shape but it was coffin shape. She noticed this, I did not. I was dumb founded and thanked her because Hugo Nails never caught on to this. I would leave Hugo Nails with beautiful nails no doubt but something was off and that was the shape. At Hugo Nails the lady gave me square shape 2 different times even when the pictures I showed were clearly coffin (as I know now). I also will say their prices are fabulous! Only $15 for a fill *regular polish, love it! Okay so for the negatives.. it took the Luxury Nails nail technician an hour and a half to give me a fill.. yes I lost one nail and yes she needed to reshape my nails from square to coffin but an hour and half, come on. Another bad thing here is that she filed my pinky nail so harshly it bleed and was an open wound for a good few days after. Finally I left here being told my nails were plenty dry, nope! As you may see in the picture I left with one already chipped as I got in my car and the next one chipped 5 min later at the gas station. Ridiculous! Though I will continue to come back because they were nice and priced cheap. read more

Very disappointing experience. I had three different techs working on my nails, and the whole time they were mostly talking to each other instead of communicating with me. I felt ignored, had to move chairs multiple times, and it seemed like they weren't even prepared for my appointment. They only did one layer of acrylic and my nails started chipping almost immediately. I also tried to leave a cash tip (like I saw other customers do) and they wouldn't allow it. I called afterward and was told to come back in, but I could hear them saying 'she was just in here,' so I didn't feel comfortable returning. read more

I heard good things about this nail salon, but I went 4 times and was disappointed. I find the prices are way too high for the services offered, when I scheduled appointments I did not get the tech I requested, I scheduled a mani- pedi and had to wait 40 minutes between the two only for the tech to rush through my gel mani because it was closing time. The last appointment was the final for sure was scheduled at 4 pm. They called me to see if I could come in early, and rushed so fast it was obvious the tech wanted to leave early ( supposed to be opened till 6). Very disappointed with this salon experience. The nail tech barely trimmed and cleaned up the cuticles. I still have a bunch of excess dead skin around my nail bed. The gel polish is thick and also splotchy. I asked for natural nails because I have a job where I will be hand modeling and this is what I got. I've only had these for 1 day and the polish already looks grown out because he didn't paint the polish all the way up to my nail bed. Totally waist of money I would not go here again. read more

I went to review page and I see the horror others are going through. Even today, it says "$42 basic manicure gel". Didn't stop Tammy for robbing me when my son handed her my debit card for basic gel. I guess prices fluctuate based on who u are, who does your manicure. As the days go by, the reviews get worse with lots complaining of their nails grounded down to bleeding. Even more horrifying is that from brown people, they treat other immigrants like shit Plus, it your skin color isn't white, Luxury nails will never apologies or offer refund even if all ur nails are filed to bleed or you are changed double the price of anything. I loveeee this salon!!! Seth, Chan and the crew are so good and passionate with what they do. As soon as you walk in they always put a smile on your face, they care so much about their customers. Every time I come in it's always a positive vibe, very sweet, and very welcoming. I always left with beautiful nails and with a smile on my face. I frequented the salon multiple times because I was told it was the best salon to go to in Hugo. The first experience was OK. I had a gel pedicure and a standard manicure. They were quite confused that I wasn't doing gel on my hands. I prefer not to do that as it tears up my nails. Second time I went there I waited 20 minutes for a scheduled appointment. The person I got was not the person I requested. They told me he was on vacation, but they made my appointment three days earlier. I believe they should've known he was going on vacation since he went all the way back to his homeland . The person who did my nails continued to speak in her native tongue during the entire pedicure. I don't speak Vietnamese so she wasn't speaking to me. She rushed through my pedicure and moved on to talk to other customers that were in the salon. I decided to give it a third shot. Once again, I waited over 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment. There was no interaction between the nail technician and myself, even though I tried several times to initiate a conversation. They did the gel pedicure and I was on my way. Even though I have family members that go to the salon and I had been there three times I felt like they continually made me wait while they greeted other customers. Even after placing me in a chair with the water running, they walked away and talked with other customers. I felt that when they were ready, they came over to my chair and started the pedicure. If I make an appointment for 1 o'clock, I expect my 1 o'clock appointment to start at 1 o'clock. I always arrived early but still had to sit and wait, even though the person doing my pedicure was just walking around talking to other Customers. I gave it three tries, but wIl not return again. I've always loved this nail salon. I hadn't had a pedi all summer though because of covid and was a little nervous to do so. My mom & I made an appt together and thought we'd see how it went. This place is so professional. There were no walk ins, but we had an appt so we were good. After walking in the door (with masks on the entire time) we were told to wash our hands before picking out a color. After that they took our temperature and then we were asked to sit in our chairs which were shielded with clear plastic curtains. Since my Mom & I made the appt together our 2 chairs shared a curtained area. Our technicians were masked and still so sweet. I just LOVE this place!! Hidden gem by far! Thank you!! I recently moved back to the area, prior had my nails done in the cities. I tried another salon and was disappointed. I saw the reviews and thought I'd give this place a try. And I am glad I did. It was busy. (Good sign). First off it is clean and it is modern. The pedicure chairs were fairly comfortable. What I liked the most was how detailed my pedicurist was. I am not one to complain often about bad service and I have certainly got bad or sub par pedicures before, but I went here last week and they "shredded" my feet. A good friend of mine suggested that I go here to get my nails done. So, I decided to take a chance and go here a couple days before my wedding. I was beyond thrilled with my experience, Ly Yong did a fantastic job! She was so nice, helpful and patient. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I was thinking french tip or something elegant and I was more than open to suggestions. She pulled up a picture on her phone of a french tip design with a flower. I loved the design and Ly Yong made it more personalized by adding a line of gold above the white tip (to match my wedding colors) and put flowers only on my ring fingers with a rhinestone center. I wish I had pictures of my nails because they looked beautiful and I got so many compliments! They lasted for nearly three weeks, and I had to finally get them removed because my nails were growing out too much, but they didn't chip and no discoloration. The only thing that didn't last the whole three weeks were the rhinestones (oh, darn). I would highly recommend getting your nails done here, the entire staff is really nice, their prices are very reasonable, the shop is clean and organized, and it has a nice, comfortable atmosphere. I will be making a special trip to Hugo when I visit Minnesota so I can get my nails done there again. Very sweet staff, good color selection, fast friendly service. Prices were reasonable and they had several very nice pedicure chairs although I didn't have a pedicure while there today. They had the news on the large tv while I was there which was kind of nice, no heavy pressure to make conversation. Seemed clean and speedy but not rushed. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I went here three times. The first time for a mani which was excellent (YONG first name Ly). The second time a mani-pedi which took over 2 hours but was excellent. I had asked for LY and even got her name when I made my reservation but I got another woman Li. The third time was there well over two hours and had a really bad experience. My pedi went fine but my nails would not dry-even after 45 minutes!!!! My mani was the worst. They include hot stones, paraffin hot wax, massage, exfoliating scrub, lotion- you name it. When they got to my mani they did my nails and called it good-no paraffin offered, no massage, a dab of lotion and once again my nails would not set even after 15 minutes..... I felt like the older woman LI was just over me and wanted it to be done. I left very disappointed on lack of consistency and will not go back. I know they can do better but I just don't dare go back and ask for another person. The older Li woman seems to be in control there and she is not that good. read more

The staff was very friendly, and I was impressed by how Moon was able to make a perfect French stripe freehand--she didn't have to clean it up with polish remover--a true artiste!
