I have been going her for almost 3yrs and have had an amazing experience with T. However she went on maturity leave so I had to have someone else do my nails. I had a manicure one other time by someone other than T dont know her name, but she dug into my nails while cleaning it hurt & I told her, no sorry nothing. This time it was a new young gentleman. The pedi & manicure looked great. Till few days later my toes the polish were turning black, so went in and the same guy fixed. Then a few days later my other toes did the same thing, so back in I went. This time had them put a new clear coat on my fingernails, as they weren't looking good. Okay so today I was in for 3rd time as my fingernails the clearcoat is craking and peeling off. Asked if could fix, said they would give me a fill, I said am I going to get a discount? Husband said yes, his wife said no. Asked when I got, which thought 3 weeks ago. When left I looked it up, was actually 14 days since had done. The owners wife says oh at 3 weeks you need a fill, I said no I always go 4, and regardless I've been in here 3 times which is a 30min drive each way since I had done. This is not normal,or right and I've never had the clearcoat peel, nor have I had my nail polish turn black.. And still no discount, like it was not their fault.. I spent $130 on the services, I always tip well & spend alot of money on my nails with nail art. Sooo pissed as I dont complain, but when services are right, they arent.. T is amazing. I hate changing salons and having to now after paying $130 2 weeks ago to have to pay another salon to fix. This could have all been avoided if they just gave me some kind of a discount. But apparently they dont care if they keep loyal customers or not, very sad. But their loss & someone else's gain.. read more

Been goin here for a couple years and have loved it until today. I called the beginning of the week to schedule an appointments for today at 10 am. When I get there I was told they thought I had cancelled my appointment so they did not have me on their books at all. They told me the could fit me in after 11 am and I told them that would not work for me. I drove 40 miles one way to have them done and then this happens-not happy at all. I have been going to the salon every two weeks for quite a few months with excellent results dealing with really nice people. Today I walked in to get a fill. They had a display that looked like actual glass on your nails and I asked her how this would work, she told me it's all in the Polish and it will look great. I let her proceed. She was very rough with my hands and didn't even communicate with me much. When she went to put the Polish on it looked nothing like the sample and I said something to her. She told me in order to get that glass look I would have had to have clear tips put on. I don't understand why she didn't notice the tips I had on were not clear and mentioned to me the Polish would not work on my nails?? Anyways I am not happy with the look at all and we'll end up going to a different Salon to get these fixed costing me another $50. Very very unhappy with my service will most likely never return to Hugo nail salon. read more

I enjoyed a very nice pedicure and "full set" manicure. I received a pedicure from one nail tech who did a very nice, thorough job. I relaxed completely. I had requested no nail polish and she suggested a very light, transparent color and she was right - pretty toes even though it's past sandal season. Next I was treated to having two different nail techs do my manicure - and I wish I had asked their names. I was too relaxed from my pedicure, I guess. The gentleman who applied the color layers added a subtle, angled "swoop" across each of my nails; it was perfect! The salon was busy, clean, and welcoming. And they fit me in without an appointment despite my scheduling error and how busy they were. I'll definitely be returning. Highly recommend. read more

Rushed through service- you can tell they didn't enjoy- my nails are crooked and for $55- I expect cuticle care and lotion on my hands. Unsanitary- swept the table off with nail brush, and did not disinfect. They didn't have anyone wash their hands. I visited the salon with my two daughters; spending $140 for two full sets and 1 gel. One of my daughters was cut twice while being filed, drawing blood, and the manicurist didn't stop to have my daughter wash her hands to get any bacteria out. At the end of the service and payment I found out what happened. The manicurist apologized, offered a discount at the next visit. However, she continued to talk to my daughter and tell her she was all right vs. acknowledging she should have cleaned the cuts. I understand accidents happen, that's not the issue. The issue is the manicurist should have ensured the cuts were cleaned and not proceed as if my daughter wasn't bleeding. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I had to with this one. First time customer, well almost customer... Had an appointment for a fill at 11:30 am. but was not seated until noon. Once seated, I explained what I would like done, and the lady said "oh, I don't have time for that, we very busy". So, not only did I NOT get my nails done, they wasted 1/2 hour of my time because I waited. I understand if you are busy, and it was my choice to wait, but you should NOT tell me you don't have time to do what I wanted on my nails. I just moved to Hugo and wanted to try out a new nail salon. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get my tips and dip taken off and put back on. I have been getting my nails done for over 13 years and just know when things aren't going well. My nail technician was very nice but when I decided to switch to French before we even got to dip she looked at me like it was way to much to handle. I said that's fine and I'll try it next time. Then when she was done with dip and filing and using drill they looked bumpy not to mention they are crooked on my hand. I paid and left because I'm not the type of person to complain but my husband said I should leave a review. I wouldn't recommend this place after spending $45.00 it was not worth it. No. Just no. Went to this place years ago. Last was rude. Decided to give it a second chance to get some gel manicure off. The put us in the foil for 30 minutes and didn't come back. My friend almost bled because she was scraping her nail so quickly and so hard because she was in a rush. THEN, I took the foil off and started scraping my own gel manicure off, THEN she comes back and grinds our nails, and shames us for not having an appointment even though she said we could sit and start, we happily would have sat in the waiting area until she had time. She was doing a pedicure would take a break come to us without washing her hands and file our nails. Then shame us again for not having an appointment. THEN, they wouldn't take my debit card because it costs them money to use the machine. So they're yelling across the salon "do you have cash" I said no three times and my answer didn't change, they wouldn't take my card so my friend paid cash. Never ever ever go to this place. I had a few bad experiences there. Had my toenails done and had to go back the next day as my big toenail polish had come off by the time I got home. The woman who did my toes and fingernails was rude and impatient. The price of an acrylic refill was pretty high and I was left to dry my nails under the dryer for 15 minutes and forgotten. Hugo Nails is a great little nail salon, their pedicures are a great value. I've been to several nail salons in the past and this is by far one of the cleanest and most sanitary. As an added bonus they use lemon slices during the pedicure so the water smells good. There is never much of a wait and all of the workers are very pleasant. If they are not busy they will let you sit in the massage chairs while your toes dry as well. I would highly recommend this nail salon if you live in the Hugo area. read more

Just finished getting an acrylic full set here. The guy doing my nails was nice. Offered me a water and they got me in quick. But I was disappointed in the shape as I showed him and image and he said he could do it and butchered it. I mentioned it wasn't like the image but it was okay (simple almond shaped nails). He didn't apologize he just went on. Then when I went to pay he tried to charge me $35 for a service that was listed as $26. I told him it should only be $26 based on the pamphlet. I started coming to this salon in August of 2016. They had just started new management. I loved the area and was nervous to go. The minute I stepped in I recognized one of the ladies from a previous establishment I loved. She recognized me and we hit it off. Every time you go in... ask for Amy! She is the best. Everyone else who works there does a fantastic job as well but Amy is so welcoming and always does a fantastic job. I will continue to come to this nail salon. I am currently sitting here at Hugo Nails receiving the best pedicure I've ever had. I'm extremely ticklish and have shied away from pedicures for that reason. This woman is incredible. Very few tickels. The foot massage went in for a very long time. The deluxe pedicure includs a hot stone massage! I nearly falling asleep. Very disappointed. I decided to try this new nail place because it got a few glowing reviews, but I have never been more dissatisfied with a mani/pedi in my life. I got a pedicure and a French gel manicure this past Saturday. Today is Wednesday and 6 out of 10 toenails are visibly chipped. Additionally I got a French gel manicure which was one of the sloppier I've gotten. I can deal with a little sloppy. But the gel nails are already peeling from the base. Thank god it's a French manicure so it's not as noticeable that it is sloughing off. If I am going to pay $75 for a mani/pedi, my expectation is that it lasts longer that 3 days. I will not ever return. I will not ever recommend. Very Disappointed. And I'm questioning the authenticity of the products (polish and technique) that are used. This has never happened to me before. I did not have a good experience here. I went in for a pedicure and as soon as I walked in the door the lady working there answered her cellphone and started a conversation. She was the only one working and asked what I was there for. I said a pedicure. She told me to pick my color and started the water on one of the massage chairs. She then continued her conversation throughout my entire pedicure. There was a also a puppy running around the facility and started chewing on my shoes in the middle of my pedicure. When she was finished painting my toes she got up and walked away and went to sit in a massage chair towards the back of the salon and started soaking her feet, while still talking on the phone. I hadn't even paid yet. By the time my pedicure was done a guy that works there had come in with his lunch and had started eating. He realized that I was completely finished and waiting to pay so he came over and took my money. I will not be going back to that place! read more

I went here for a pedicure, and from the moment I walked in until the moment I paid, the lady who did my pedicure was on her cellphone. She was talking on the phone before I arrived, continuted to talk on the phone throughout my entire pedicure, and was still on the phone after I paid. She did not say one word to me other than to pick my color. I found this very rude. She also did not do the best work on my pedicure, and almost made it seem like a burden for her to be giving me a pedicure. I will not be going back to this place. read more

The people who work here are not welcoming. I'm here with my niece. She is getting her feet and nails painted. For gel polish for a 9 year old for her nails is 25 dollars! REALLY???? They literally have by far the worst color selection. I found nail polish from the "icing" yes the little girls store from the mall. She picked out one of the brightest colors..because they only have about five you can pick from..they put it on her feet and they to of watered the polish down. It was terrible. She told the lady she wanted sparkles on the tips of her fingers and she got it on the whole nail. This place has a lot of open space and it's really uncomfortable being in here. My experience at Hugo Nails was awful from the moment I came in the door. I opened the door and was greeted by two little white dogs that came charging at me barking. I was taken back but figured they were just coming up to say hi - Umm, no one started attacking me and bit me on the back of the knee, breaking the skin. As much as I was ready to walk out the door, I stuck it out and got my nails done. My leg was still hurting afterwards so I went to the restroom to see if it had broken the skin and there was dog poop, yes dog poop on the floor in the bathroom. At that point, I couldn't take it anymore and left. I later filed a police report for the dog bite in hopes that someone else wouldn't go through what I went through. read more
