I've been to MANY nail salons with many different experiences, some ok, some good & some bad. I don't have a lot of expectations when getting a pedicure done other than getting what I paid for. On top of that, i'd hope to leave with my skin uncut from the filing(it's happened before) or not get cut when doing they use the nail drill AND get asked to tip. Out of my 15 yrs of getting a pedicure, this place by far is the best experience I've had. It's a clean, calm and friendly atmosphere!! They're gentle too!! I don't know if it was just today and just got lucky, but let me say I'll be going to this nail salon from now on. They took their time, super friendly and careful, I didn't feel rushed at all to pay nor to get out of there, and I didn't feel obligated to give tip. Most places I go to ask for tip and I personally want to give tip without being asked and by not asking I may tip more, that's just me. Overall, I had a great experience! I love 2001 Nails in Woodbury! Let me tell you why: The salon is large, clean, and beautiful with a calming atmosphere. The technicians are very friendly and very talented. I have had a "fill" from at least four and they were all well done. Also, everyone can do acrylic nails which makes it much easier to get a last minute appointment, if necessary. There is a separate area with eight "Little Mermaid" chairs for child manicures and pedicures. They work very well with the children. I have brought my 90 year old mother and young granddaughters to the salon and they were treated so gently and kindly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about 2001 Nails. read more

I usually observe a nail salon for a while before going in. Do I know anyone who's been there, how well do they clean the foot baths, do they use sterile equipment, etc. But, I decided to try this one on a whim. I'm pretty anal-retentive about cleanliness at nail salons. Seriously, there's the risk of infection, fungus, cuts. This seems to bother me more than most people, so take this review with a grain of salt... -After the pedicure, he wanted me to walk barefoot across a tile floor, then across some carpet, and sit with my bare feet on the floor under one of those drying lights. The tile *may be* bleached often, but there's no way they frequently shampoo the carpet. -he was not used to someone saying 'no' to the nail clippers or razor. After I said no, he explained why i 'needed' it, and then reached for it again. if I hadn't been very insistent, he would have gone ahead and done it. -which I guess bleeds into another, non-cleanliness reason I felt uneasy there. I know what I want at a nail salon, and I ask for it, but here I got a lot of pushback for some of my choices. I'm afraid that makes me sound unreasonable :) Okay, as an example, the lady next to me had picked out a pink polish. The tech came over and said the chosen colour was too light, and she'd go find another, better colour. Now, the lady seemed amenable to it, but I certainly would not have been. If I say I want my nails filed, not trimmed, or that I don't want a flower painted on my toe, or that I don't want callouses removed, that's my choice. read more

The purpose of this update is to bitch about the quality of a manicure I received here. I'm not taking back my opinion on pedicures here. I'm a fan because I always leave this place with baby soft feet, it's close to home and it's close to a yarn store. And it's reasonably priced (yay!). Although I'm horrified that the guy would have made Kiki D. walk barefoot across their floor (GROSS!!! IT'S IN AN 80'S STRIP MALL!!!), although I'm wondering if it was a new person, because they always slip my flip-flops on my toes (or lend me a pair of salon flops if I don't have my own) before they make me vacate the chair and walk anywhere. So anyway, I came here a month or so ago for a manicure. They did a pretty good job at filing and everything looked clean and even, however, on day two after the manicure, I had 3 large, visible chips. On day 3, only one of my fingernails was chip free. By day 6 of the manicure, only 2 of my nails even had any polish left on them. I work in an office. I don't do manual labor. I don't have children. I don't have a garden. I didn't do anything that would have caused that manicure to fail like it did. What gives? read more

Had two bad experiences and won't be coming back. The nail tech ruined my nail beds! She removed gel nails with a dremel! Even after I asked if she should be using it! It's been almost two months and my nails are so thin and damaged they rip off and hurt. The same lady had given me the worst pedi ever after I finally made time for myself as a new mom. Got a mani and pedi done with a group of us last Saturday.. left for vacation 3 days later and 2 days into vacation I had lost polish on my nail. I returned 1 week after getting the shellac on my nails which should of lasted for 2 weeks and all but 3 nails lost polish .. I will never get another manicure there again.. I did give it 2 stars as I did love the pedicure I got and it still looks great . Clean but they don't sanitize the equipment like other places do. read more

I was afraid to bring my family here after reading the reviews about rudeness but got some personal referrals from people who said they were great. While they were not fawning all over us when we came in (paying close attention to the people in their chairs), once WE were in the chairs, they were lovely! Nice friendly chat, offered coffee or bottled waters. We brought a three-year-old who sat with us through adult pedis, an 8-year-old, who loved the kid size chairs for her pedi, and an adult daughter with disabilities, who can be difficult and unpredictable. They did a great job with her especially, paying close attention to her and asking every step of the way if it was OK to continue (such as with the leg massage). She was very comfortable with the whole experience, and they seemed to be with her -- both of which says a LOT. They also gave the 3-year-old a mani while she sat on her mom's lap, then moved her to the heat lamps and set the timer so mom had some time to herself. Lovely morning and we all look great! Special prices for kid services made it very affordable. We will return! read more

Woodbury has quite a bit of nail salons - I thought I would give this one a shot. They were polite throughout the process. But I was disappointed in the price. I was charged $36 for a basic pedicure. I have had better pedicures at other places in Woodbury that were cheaper and with more services. I felt like he kept asking if I had been here before to see what he could charge me. They were freakin' friendly and had REAL conversation with me and my guest 8. They didn't talk Vietnamese the entire time to each other (they are Vietnamese and spoke it to each other briefly here and there, but I knew they were never talking about their customers) 9. This was one of the worst pedicures I have ever received. We called ahead to see if they could accept 3 for a pedicure and they told us to come on in. When we arrived only two people were around the salon, so one person had to wait until we were finished to get their pedicure. No problem - more girl talk. The pedicures took about 10-15 minutes - with about 1 minutes for lotion application which was the "massage" in the spa pedicure. The results of the polish was an uneven application that was very thin and ended up all over my toes. I feel like I have been ripped off when I have to go home and re-paint my toenails after paying for a pedicure. The salon closed at 7pm (it was 6:30) and as we waited for our toenails to dry the salon associates were waiting for us to leave to close shop - already vaccumed and moped up with their jackets on and car riding outside. Everything has obviously changed in the few years since some bad reviews. I was a walk in and had asked for a mani/pedi. Was looking for acrylic and gel for manicure. They had me in the chairfor a pedi,told me they didn't have time for both services. So i opted to get my nails done instead. I said i wanted my nails rounded. He said he couldnt do that. RUSHED through the nails. Then said i cojld jave pedicure. Never in my life have I recieved such shoddy treatment. I walked in and there is a man lounging on the front chairs. "What do you need?" I replied "I would like a manicure, do you have Shellac?" He sneers and says "of course we do, go sit in the fifth chair." He never stands up or anything. I should have walked out then, but I was desparate. I go and sit in said fifth chair. There are two women working on something, and one asks me what's on my nails, after I have sat there for 5 minutes. I tell her its shellac. Without responding (and without me knowing if she ever hears me) she walks into the back room. She returns a good 5+ minutes later with a bowl of something warm and tells me to soak. I soak for about 15 minutes. She comes and sits down starts to painfully scrape my old polish off. She asks where I got my nails done and I tell her. She then asks me how much I paid, which I find extremely unprofessional. She then says some impolite comments about the other place I usually go. Of course by this time I cannot leave because half of my nails are scraped off. She stops scraping halfway through to change the television channel because she doesn't want to watch what was on. The tv is situated behind her left shoulder. Then she asks what I want and I tell her is unimpressed with my selection and after several chpices of hers I relent because I am running out of time. She proceeds to work on my nails, stopping several times to watch the television. Yes she had to turn around to do so. Then she tells me to put my hands in the uv light boxes or whatever those things are, and they aren't working. She has to get up and get the attention of the guy (the one too busy lounging on the chairs and talking on his phone) to get his help to figure out why none of the electricity is working. By this time I am no longer caring I want to leave. She finishes the color and design (both which are about B- in quality) and not at all what I had originally wanted. I pay and leave, neither of them acknowledging me as I leave. Now as awful as all of that was, it did not really warrant a Yelp until the "shellac" began to chip off. So I paid a higher (much higher then deserved) price for a substandard product. Never again will I set foot in that place. I will gladly drive 20 minutes to my regular salon instead of the 5 minutes to this place. read more

I have never written a review, but this place was so rude i felt compelled to do so and encouraged to by my 14 year old who also noticed how rude they were. It was a terrible pedicure that I paid extra for the step up pedicure. I asked for a base coat, and the man argued with me that I didn't need a base coat. But he certainly wanted to charge me $10 more for callus remover, which I thought is why I upgraded the pedicure to begin with. My daughter also received a terrible pedicure and when we left said "i would never come back here". The topper of the whole experience was when I was trying to leave a tip on the credit card and was pretty much told it was not enough so don't bother. RUDE BEYOND RUDE! Will never ever go back there. There are much better places in Woodbury that when you upgrade your pedicure you actually get what you paid for!!!! read more
