The interiors were nice and well appointed . We came in on Saturday and there were just 3 tables occupied . We had hummus with pita bread as appetizers and I tell you it was one of the best pita bread as they made it fresh and it came out straight from their oven . My husband ordered a gyro beef wrap with French fries on the side while I had a chicken shawarma with greek salad on the side . The chicken shawarma was so juicy and well seasoned . My husband enjoyed the beef gyro as it was large and it was very filling. We also loved the tamarind drink . If we crave for some more Mediterranean food , this will be our go to place . read more

We ate lunch at noon today. There were no other customers and the waiter was attentive. We got the falafel appetizer. I could not finish eating one. It was very salty and had a bitter taste. We both ordered Shawarma wraps. They meat was well seasoned. It was supposed to come on pita bread. Our sandwiches were served on something thinner than a flour tortilla. The waiter went up the owner and we were provided no explanation of why the menu has pita bread but we received a thin tortilla. When we walked in, you must scan a QR code to see the menu. I did that and it immediately popped up and asked if I wanted to sign up and get 15% off. When the waiter brought the bill, I showed him the coupon. He stated it was expired. I said I just got it once I walked in the restaurant and it has N/A for the expiration date. The waiter went back to the owner or manager and he gave us the 15% off. I didn't know what to expect when we decided to try a dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant Luxor. I have lived in several city's around the Middle East over 15 years; so I was not expecting anything spectacular...but I was quickly surprised and pleased. This place really has that authentic Arabic vibe going and I loved the smell of flavored shisha... Hubble-Bubble.... They have a very nice outdoor area that you can enjoy some shisha with friends and I will be definitely returning very soon to relax and enjoy. We were lucky to find parking directly behind the restaurant and upon entering I was impressed with the cleanliness and beautiful interior decor. The staff were very welcoming and they kept checking to ensure that we did not need anything. Not only was our waiter very attentive, we were approached by the manager and I think it was the owners son. We exchanged a few Egyptian phrases and It was a pleasure to see his face light up as I greeted him with Ezayek (meaning: How are you in Egyptian, commonly spoken between Egyptians). It really was a joy to speak with him and he graciously honored my YELP 10% discount for checking in on the app. The complimentary bread was hot cooked fresh and very delicious. Baba Ganush was fresh and very tasty. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you give it a try.... It's DELICIOUS! Greek salad was fresh, tasted great and very nice portion size. Hummus was very nice and I loved that it did not taste too bitter. We ordered the Chicken Shish Tawook plate and it was cooked perfect, nicely seasoned with great flavor and very juicy. We also ordered the Luxor platter which had a variety of kababs (Kkefta & Shish tawook) We finished our meal with a Turkish coffee and it was a great compliment to a very nice meal. Don't be fooled by the average reviews, this place is pretty good! We were a party of 3 and went in around 6:45pm on a Saturday. The place was mostly empty at that time. We ordered patatas for the table and I got a tamarind based drink along with the Luxor deluxe veggie wrap. There was also complimentary pita bread with olive oil and feta cheese. This food was absolutely amazing! The lentil soup was the best I've ever had. You have to taste it to understand. The Greek salad was so fresh, perfect amount of dressing and very light but tasty. The Gyro meat we added to the salad was incredible. You can tell everything is made fresh and with love. I would highly recommend it and we will definitely be going back! The food here is fantastic and it's an incredibly neat and clean establishment. We had the sampler and some wraps. Everything was fresh and the rice was very fluffy and flavorful. We sat on the patio so that we could purchase hookah. They have some really great flavor choices, as well. The only issues we had were that we were the only table in the restaurant, and everything from our water to receiving our check, took a long time, it's BYOB, and there was no music playing, so it was oddly quiet except for the conversations of people walking past us to other businesses. read more

I had the worst restaurant experience ever! I walked in around 3:30 (not busy). Bought about $67 in misc "to go" food. One item purchased was a Tabouli salad. At home, opening the container I thought it looked old/rotten--it was when sampled plus it had grit/dirt in it from unwashed parsley!!! Who ever scooped it into the container knew it was old and un-eatable. Knowing I was ripped off I waited a few days to cool down before calling to discuss this situation. When I called and asked for either the owner or manager they hung-up the phone!!! I called back immediately (hoping it was in error). When answered I asked again to speak with management. The person who answered not saying a word, set the phone down on the counter and left it there. After SEVERAL minutes I knew no one was coming to the phone. They ripped me off and they knew it. Stopped in to Luxor on a Thursday night to celebrate my friends birthdays. The Rim shopping center and garage was very busy and it was hard to find parking. So imagine our surprise when we walked into Luxor at 7:15 pm to find we were the only customers! So after a quick convo on whether to stay we decided to give it a try. The manager was very welcoming so we started with hot tea, bread and hummus. I checked in on Yelp to use the 10% off coupon. When I showed it to the manager he remarked that he had no idea it was there. We all got a good laugh from that and he graciously offered the discount. The appetizers were all delicious and my friends wondered why no one else was there in the clean, bright, colorful dining room. I thought perhaps because it was so cold and that many people come for the hookah on the patio? We never did figure it out but proceeded to order entrees which were brought out quickly. The Lamb Shish Kebab Plate was very tasty but I think the homemade baklava was my favorite. I'm not a huge Mediterranean food fan but I enjoyed this meal. A few more guests did arrive while we were there so hopefully it was just a slow night. To improve it would be nice to see dimmed lighting in the dining room to add an upscale feel. FIRST TIME HERE! Wow! Being my first visit here ever, my eyes, ears and tastebuds are wide open to take in as much of this dining experience as possible. Here is my review. THE LOCATION: located in a portion of The Rim shopping area right off the I-10 freeway. Lots of parking, but The Rim is also a very bustling and busy place, so during peak hours, parking may be scarce. THE AMBIENCE: with both indoor and outdoor areas, you have options on how you choose to enjoy your meal. Outside, the patio is large but right next to a busy driveway so cars are constantly whizzing past. Inside, new agey type music plays at a medium to loud volume. The front door is open and while I'm seated in the center of the dining room, I can feel the winter air blowing in. I keep my heavy jacket on during my lunch. THE MENU: a QR code which will display their full menu is at my table, so I snap it to see my options. Lots of my fave appetizers are listed, hummus, grape leaves, tabbouleh, but I am unable to get all favorites on one plate without getting other things I don't really care for. My solution? I choose the hummus topped with shawarma chicken and a side of tabbouleh salad. THE FOOD: the pita comes puffed with air and does deflate as I sit there staring at it. I pick the first of two up and tear it open to deflate it. It's warm and toasty. The server tells me they are not only made fresh, but made fresh to order in their fancy oven. I love it! Nothing better than fresh, warm bread and this pita doesn't disappoint. My tabbouleh salad is what I expected, so I'm happy. Very lemony! So if that's not your jam, consider something else. The hummus is topped with a very small sprinkling of chicken, but it's fine for me. It's plated very nicely with several different seasonings at the north, south, east and west positions. I'm certain one is sumac, a Mediterranean staple. Thoughtful detail to what would otherwise be a simple dish. Bravo! The chicken shawarma is not dry and brittle as the kind I normally get from other similar eateries. Impressive. I cannot help but order more pita. The chef himself brings it back to my table to be sure I get still warm. Nice! THE SERVICE: I am loving the service. By checking in to Yelp, I activated a 10% off my bill offer and let my server know. It's very slow at this off peak hour, but everyone seems to keep busy with their various tasks. My server tempts me with dessert, that scheming Siren! I opt for their Tiramisu which she says, and to pardon her dramatic description of it, "it's the best dessert they have and less sweet and more creamy than it's Italian counterpart". I'm sold! (For the record, I found this dessert to be quite sweet and thicker than my fave tiramisu at the Olive Garden). OVERALL: very happy with the menu selection, the ambience, service and taste of the food. I have had bad Mediterranean food and I've enjoyed some amazing restaurants, too. This was our first time here. The food was delicious. I usually stick to Pasha or Jerusalem grill but we decided to try something new. I have no complaints. Our waitress was the sweetest most helpful person and we appreciate how attentive she was. I love how their outdoor patio is. First, the good items. Nice interior; spacious and good climate control. Nice bathrooms. Pleasant owner and wait staff. Extensive menu. Sadly, now the bad items. Even though the place was only about 1/3 full when we arrived at 6PM, it took a long time to get the appetizers that were always provided, and we never got the pita bread to use to eat them. Then, it took one to two hours for most of our party to get our food after ordering it, while some folks in the restaurant ordering later got their food first. One person waited THREE HOURS for a salad and, after asking several times about it, was rudely told to go sit down or she would never get it. How long does it take to put together a salad or a schwarma wrap? I ordered the lamb chops. The picture showed three large lamb chops; I got two small lamb chops. When I tried to cut them, it took all the strength I had to cut them. They were verging on being tough and the knife was dull. I finally had to pick them up and eat them with my hands. The basmati rice was so dry it got stuck in my throat and it took several minutes before everything went down. The appetizers were okay, but were somewhat bland. When I paid my bill, it took an extra 10 minutes just to get a customer copy. Very minor note - the paper towel dispenser in the men's room was empty, but I didn't dare tell a wait person, as that would have slowed down the service even more. But now for the big finale! We finished our meal around 8:30PM. By 5AM the next morning, I started having the runs. Perhaps it was just coincidence, and other factors were involved, but the timing was suspicious and I felt great before the meal and again later the next day. Finally, the pricing was not untypical for the Rim development in which the restaurant was located, but definitely on the high side. You can definitely get a meal of equal quality for less and a lot quicker elsewhere. read more
