I went in for a polish pedicure and was just surprised by the service I received. First off, I always get polish on my toes. She asked if I wanted gel and I said no thank you, and she asked if I was sure and I said yes I'm sure thank you. I sat down and a moment later she asked me again if I wanted gel and I said no again, and then she went on to tell me how great gel is so instead of saying "no" for the 4th time I just caved and said yes. Extra $15 for that. Anyways, then came time to trim my cuticles. She had clipped my toe cuticle and I guess ripped back the live skin there and it would not stop bleeding. So she grabs a nail glue bottle, puts glue on my open wound, and puts the glue back in the cart. I was stunned! I have never ever experienced that before. I also was watching her use all the old used tools and sanding bands from the "dirty" labeled box while a fully stocked "sanitized" box was sitting literally right next to it. I understand these shops are not meant to be top notch when it comes to sanitation, but this was a whole new level of ew. I left for a trip the day after this and my toe wound wasn't healed until a whole week later. They also only offered one type of pedicure, and it was $50 including the gel. There were no other customers in the salon the whole time I was there but I felt rushed. I normally do not post about salons, but this time I felt inclined to considering the other raving reviews it has and I was just really confused as to how it has such good ratings. read more

I love my nails! Lily did a great job and was so sweet. I recommend this salwill definitely be back! Update: After my last visit, my nails were hurting pretty bad under the dip. After about two weeks I made it to another salon to have the dip taken off and found my nails were filed so thin that it's painful to have anything touch them. I noticed while I was at Luxe that it was painful and hot while Lily was filing but I ignored it. Now I know not to ignore pain during a manicure. I'm now allowing my nails to grow out to regain their thickness and strength. It's visible how thin my nails were filed and they are literally like paper as they grow off my nail bed and they tear within a day or so. read more

I had not done my nails for several years as I had not found a place that did not burn or obliterate my nail bed. I found Luxe Nails when looking for a place to resume my nail care as my son was getting married and I wanted a full nail set. I started my services with them in October 2022 and I have not stopped going to the usual two week refill/maintenance since then. I've received services from all their staff and I can confidently say that in my experience it's the best place I've encountered. My nail bed hasn't been over filed or burnt, when they have to remove the overlay they do it with care and have not ripped the nail out. I appreciate their honesty and how candid they are when they say "I can make a design similar to the picture"(after all, my nail shape, length, and width may not be the same that the hand model in the picture has), my communication with them is open, respectful and honest, I feel very comfortable with letting them know what I want, and they take time to ensure a job is well done. All the staff here is courteous, respectful, kind, and will go above and beyond for their clients. I've never encountered a rude technician and am always received with a smile. I'm very happy and satisfied with their professionalism and service. With this being said, and because "oopsies" can happen, it is important that the client disclose to the manager if they're not satisfied with the job so the problem can be solved at the moment. It's also paramount to immediately tell the technician if they're in pain as they will not know unless the client informs them. I mention this because I've noticed the trend of some people to react after the service has been given, get a "knee jerk" reaction and sling mud on a Yelp! review as opposed to trying to fix the situation at the moment. Even more egregious is the fact that even when the manager or technician have taken the steps to correct the issue they neglect to mention or acknowledge if the concern was addressed. Furthermore, it is quite unfair if the situation was not addressed at the shop by the client, if the efforts made to correct it are not honestly disclosed to the other reviewers, and if the issue happened due to the reviewer's lack of communication with the technician and/or manager at the moment service was being given. Keep in mind that these actions can damage a small "mom and pop" And the livelihood of those who work there. read more
